    14. Cheese Enchilada and Chili Verde Burrito Combo

Homey. Friendly. Just what I needed. Came to have a margarita and enchiladas to watch a show on my phone in peace. Mission accomplished. Place started filling up as time went on and waitress was super attentive even as she got slammed. Food is great. Exactly how my grandma served me.

The food here is consistent. Their salsa are always fresh and spicy. My favorite dish is a beef quesadilla as I love the red sauce and the meat is tender. They give you fresh tortillas for your beans and rice to make a little burrito which is a nice touch and a small salad in the middle. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants here in town

We came out to Sacramento Saturday night for some early Halloween shenanigans and decided to give Xochimilco a try. The restaurant was pretty busy and you can tell it's definitely a local favorite. We were seated quickly and drink orders were placed. Our party had time to look over the menus and make decisions by the time our drinks came from the bar. Our server let us know they closed at 8 as our food order was the last to hit the kitchen around 7:30ish. Overall everyone was happy with their meals only ding was the rice was undercooked but otherwise everything was great.

We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday at Xochimilco and it was absolutely unforgettable. Norma (Owner) was fantastic, attentive, and made us feel special from the moment we walked in. The taco bar was delicious, especially the salsa bar! The service was top-notch, they were incredibly accommodating with our large group, and they made my Mom feel celebrated without being overly chaotic. Again, the food and drinks were wonderful--a memorable event! Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping make my Moms birthday so very special!

Theresa seated us and took our drink order! The drinks came out perfectly balanced and tasty! The service from the owner Norma was great, as our food was absolutely perfect! We were able to speak well the Chef Frank, who made our dinner to our exact liking! We will definitely return with our family!!

A few months ago we came with friends and had a terrible meal. I figured it was a one off moment because this has always been a great place with great food. We went again earlier this week and it's the end of the weekend and my husband and I are still feeling kind of gross. Thankfully my daughter saw the food, took one bite and refused to continue so she's escaped it. I don't know what happened. The people in the front are still the same, but something went horribly wrong in that kitchen. Still worthy for margaritas and chips and salsa (because their flour chips are off the hook) but nothing beyond that for us anymore. Bummed.

Each taco had a generous amount of meat, was well-prepared, and tasted fresh. The real game changer, though, was adding the jalapeño cream sauce along with a few salsas from the salsa bar which took the tacos to another level. If I could, I'd give this place 6 stars just for that! Also, I'd recommend the cucumber lime agua fresca drink. It tasted refreshing and the perfect amount of each flavor. Their menu has a great variety of options, and I noticed several people ordering the dinner plates, which looked absolutely massive. I also saw them bring out a sizzling hot skillet that I could hear from a few tables down. You definitely get your money's worth here. The service was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly fast. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the salsa bar was fresh, organized, and full of appetizing choices. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

The restaurant had great energy and a fun, buzzy atmosphere. The crowd was a lively mix of people from the Capitol, couples enjoying date night and moviegoers grabbing dinner before or after a show. We ordered the carnitas and carne asada. Both plates were generous and full of flavor. The carnitas were tender and practically fell apart with a fork, and the carne asada was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the service was lacking during our visit. One of our meals was forgotten and we had to flag down the server to let him know. Our server also wasn't around very often, so it was difficult to get refills or ask for anything we needed. When we requested a specific number of to-go boxes, we weren't given enough and had to get up and ask for additional boxes ourselves. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but I took away 1 star for the lack of service. The service could definitely use some improvement, especially since it wasn't busy when we went. With more attentive service, this could have been a much better dining experience.

They didn't just walk by like frazzled, hurried workers like most restaurants pushing through the crowds. They actually gave me a nice smile and said welcome, and then walked by. And then I got to the reception area found that there was already a pretty big crowd at around the 5:30 PM or so I guess a lot of early birds come to eat there on Sunday. The receptionist asked for how many and said you'd be like a 20 minute wait and there was chairs where people were waiting but it was only like a 15 minute wait. The server was fast with the chips and salsa and ice water and then soon the waiter came and took my order. He was really quick and witty, fun to talk to. What I really enjoyed was as the noise of the table Near quieted down and they left. I saw a young man cleaning up the table and getting it ready for the next group of people. He was dressed really nice and had a tie on. Having been in restaurants most of my life I said to myself, I bet you he works with the owners or something. And I said to him, are your related to people that own the place ? he said my parents own this place. He was very friendly and polite. He told me a tiny bit about the restaurant and how everything had been since 1970, much older than he was, he was only a sophomore in high school I think. I never really got his name, but I was kind of proud of him because he was working hard at his family's restaurant. I ordered probably something bigger than I could eat because I had to take leftovers home, but it was really a tasty meal, and they're coming out with more chips and salsa without being asked, probably didn't help as well as a second lemonade. It's really impressive when you have a well oiled machine and it appeared to me that the people that worked there seem to be happy so that's always a good sign of good management. Several years back, I worked in the restaurant industry doing maintenance and repairs so I went to a lot of different restaurants and saw a lot of things so I know what to look for. I'm definitely gonna come back when my brother and his wife come up from the Bay Area my friend Ivan he'll wanna go there for lunch or dinner I know. He's kind of a picky eater and was born in Mexico, but I think he'll be impressed with this place.

My friend ordered the steak ranchero dish and did not like it very much. It looked more like a stew. The ranchero sauce looked to be very watery.
