They used to be bigger with budget, I attended Gala Night with star stud guests in the Hollywood Asian American actor circuit, you can name anyone, and they will be there in person for q&a, they were all very nice. This year, I also attending but my status has changed since I myself joined the industry, and I can't wait for more representations from this festival.

We watched the "Man from Nowhere"... One of the best movies I've seen at the Fest. Somewhat long, but action packed and the main dude was freakin' HOT! Met the Membership Director and she's super nice! Can't wait to see the quarterly screenings and attend future events.

It's crazy that we lived less than a block from this theater for over 7 years, yet never had an…read moreoccasion to go inside...until we snagged a couple of tickets to an author panel at the Horton Grand during this year's Comic Con. We honestly didn't get much time inside the theater itself; the panel was an hour long, and they ran a tight ship. But, I will say that I loved the feel of the space. It's a smaller, more intimate theater than some of the other performance spaces downtown, and it doesn't seem like they have a "bad seat" in the house, just based on the layout. The acoustics were good so that we were able to hear all the women on the panel, even if they weren't so good at using the microphones. The seats were comfortable, and there was enough leg room for people to scoot by to seats in the middle of the row without having to step, trip or stumble over those who were already seated. All in all, I liked the space a lot, and am now trying to figure out when we can visit for an actual performance (not that I didn't love the panel, but theaters are made for performing arts, and I so want to see a show here!)

Took the whole family of 9 to go see the new Spider-Man movie last night and was able to get last minute tickets and we were all able to sit together. Definitely on the older side and does not have recliner chairs, but well worth it for the price. They have plenty of underground parking space. They also serve beer, wine and seltzers. They even have a happy hour posted. By the tickets online, go in and scan them and you're good to go. Concession stand is a little bit slow so I would give extra time to get all the food and snacks you need.

I didn't try anything though & just brought my water bottle inside. We parked in the free underground lot & it was easy to walk over to the cinema. There were plenty of dated yet functional bathrooms inside. This is a good movie theater to see your next film. Peace.

This show was a history of America through documentary film clippings as well as the music of each era in the 20th century. The cast is extremely talented with their singing and dancing in the costumes and choreography are excellent. And the best part is the band that makes the music happen and just keeps my footstomping the entire time. The selection of historical events and music that they chose was great and capture each era. I've been coming to lambs players for years and I've never been disappointed and I always leave with a smile on my face and I look forward to seeing the next show that catches my eye. Parking is easy in the neighborhoods because they don't have any metered parking and They also don't have signage for two hour parking.

The main character stole our hearts with her longings, memories and determination. We saw elements of our own mortality in her experiences and it has prompted us to talk about some of those things with each other over the past several days. We highly recommend this play to everyone. I am amazed at how easily we visualized invisible things - like a house, birds singing, buses and trains, a tree with a swing, etc. because the actors made those things real with their gestures, words, and mannerisms.

This was my first visit since Fleet relegated the original IMAX dome projection system to "exhibit" status and replaced it with a digital IMAX dome projector. On the positive front, the upgraded sound system is beyond compare and unquestionably the best sounding theater in San Diego. Pairing it with a showing of a legendary concert was a great choice. In the negative side (no pun intended) the image, relative to film, was a downgrade. There is a very distinct loss of image sharpness and tone with the new system. The projection lacked focus and the overall effect was exacerbated by the enormous size of the dome. Overall, it's still the only place in town where you can go to be almost completely enveloped in sight and sound. So "upgrade" aside, I'm glad it's still a part of our town.

Since I teach drama, I have reconnected with Mo'olelo. Our first play that my students and I went…read moreto see was Kita Y Fernanda. We sat with a group of High Tech High students from North County and I felt so sorry for them. The play was about half in Spanish and while my group of students laughed during those parts, on the other side of the theater....crickets....LOL! I understood some, not all, because they spoke pretty fast. Luckily one of my students would nudge me to join in, which I guess is cheating. This performance was at the 10th Ave Theater, which I like very much as far as seating and AC. The play was wonderful and something most of my students could relate too. Which is why I really love this theater group. The plays are culturally relevant and what I look out for, for my students. Recently, we watched an adaptation of Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye. I had to read this novel four times while at SDSU. Each time, I found something new in the novel and when I heard that Mo'olelo and Moxie Theater were collaborating on it, I definitely needed to see it. I first saw a read through and then we attended a matinee, again with HTH...LOL! The set was amazing! All the actors were great! And to see the characters come to life was truly a literati treat! I enjoyed it so much, I went to see it again with friends. Every performance was sold out. i do recommend buying tickets online and then arriving about 5-10 minutes before show time. It's open seating, but they ask people to move in, so we were able to sit at the ends of the aisles. My only complaint was the couple that was sitting next to me. Did they not understand black humor? Or were they afraid to laugh because the story addressed race and social class. I just couldn't understand why they didn't laugh at the very funny scenes. Other than that odd white couple (LOL), it was great to watch. I can't wait to see what they have in store for their season next year!

I felt like I was in New York or something enjoying an off Broadway show. I can't explain it. The show was thought provoking and wow, just amazing. I highly recommend checking this play out. There was true passion and talent here, you can just feel it. Its official, San Diego now has talent. I am excited at knowing I can enjoy my own awesome city instead of traveling away. Every year this is such a highlight--a burst of sunshine, art, and incredible energy on the UCSD campus. The performances are open-minded, avant-garde, playful, and often surprising in the best way, from interactive installations to acrobatics and performance art that pull you in and remind you creativity is something to participate in, not just watch. There's something rare and joyful about a festival that makes people feel more curious, more alive, more connected. WOW feels like a celebration of why art matters at all--it makes life more beautiful, expansive, and enjoyable. And the fact that it's free and public makes it even more special. in a world where so much feels commercialized, this feels like a genuine gift--a bright, generous space where artists and audiences get to meet in wonder. We left inspired and very grateful this exists. It's also pretty well organized. Some events require tickets, but they are free or under $30. The key is to keep an eye out in feb when they open the website and reserve early as every event is almost always sold out, esp the weekend ones. An amazing performance festival at UCSD!…read more We feel fortunate to have finally discovered this festival this year. Spanning four days this year at the UCSD campus, this festival was a surprise hit for the family - enough so that we came for 3 days with a 4 and 7 year old in tow. We found it hard to tell what to expect from each show (very limited description) but learned to embrace the random unknown quality of it all and had such a great time (especially given that the vast majority we went to were free). What a lovely way to spend time outside and loved the huge amount of parcipitory, interactive performances. Highlights included jam side up (modern day clowns), Suzik (angsty Korean dance acrobatics), and Again! Again! (Participatory theater). Definitely recommend. Gilman parking was also very easy on weekend and after 5pm (visitor and B spots)
