I just wanted to fall asleep. I took two 11 year old girls that were bored and did fall asleep!

Open late. So disorganized. Many people are confused where to go. Need more workers. The actual show is good.

The performance was wonderful and the voices of the cast were absolutely beautiful. The theater itself is large and you can see very well. I'm not very tall and even though people were seated in front of me I had a perfect view of the stage. The seats are comfortable and the ushers are very helpful. I believe there are concession stands on every floor as well as bars where you can get soft drinks or alcoholic beverages. The concessions are quite expensive but you expect that when you're at a theater of any kind. Very easy to find parking in the area. There is a large parking structure right next to the Civic Center as well as different parking lots where you can easily just park and walk across the street to the theater. The only rule that I have seen is that you do not bring in a bag that is larger than 12 in by 12 in. You go through a back check and walk through a metal detector but that's pretty common for any type of concert as well. Inside is very comfortable and I always enjoy coming here for a performance.

This being downtown San Diego of course you need to plan ahead for parking, but there are plenty of Lots nearby and walking distance, one of them that leads right into the parking lot of the theater. One of the positive aspects of being downtown is that you have plenty of options for dinner before or after the show. Of course you may want to make reservations ahead. They always offer concessions, of different alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as little charcuterie board type items, and candy, Etc. Of course just like any other venue of this type, it is priced above what you would normally pay for those items. I always try to sit in the orchestra section because I feel there is more leg room, and I hate to feel cramped. The seats also seem a bit more comfortable in that section. I will say I honestly don't think you could have a bad seat in this theater though. The sound is usually fine, but I will say for Moulin Rouge I had trouble hearing what they were saying especially during the songs. I love that everyone is always so helpful when trying to find your seat, they will walk you to your section and show you exactly where you need to go, which is nice because it can get chaotic with so many people ushering in. Overall this is a great location and the shows they have are amazing. Definitely reccomend looking at the season and seeing what they have to offer, they're is usually something for everyone

One ship was away on a sail in the afternoon this past Saturday, but there was more than enough to explore on the various vessels during our visit. Plenty to see and experience on each of the boats. We stepped onto the swift boat where staff educated us about its machine gun. And we walked through and checked out the different sections of the USS Dolphin submarine too. The HMS Surprise was a lovely ship with plenty of references to its use in films. The Star of India was like a museum all on its own, so many areas to explore and a ton of history to learn. The Californian was pretty basic, not very different from many other ships we've visited in the past. Steam Ferry Berkeley was the largest, with displays showcasing scientific instruments, model boats, artwork, the riverboats in Vietnam, the engine room, a torpedo caught by a fisherman, and a special exhibit featuring the "histories of the black pacific". There's a gift shop on site as well. Altogether, the variety of ships at the Maritime Museum made for an interesting adventure, a bit touristy, but worth the cost if you're into history or simply like boats.

Ok so I will split this into two reviews:…read more 1: the ships and actual adventure 2: the reservation process and customer service 1: booked a trip for the Spanish replica ship adventure the San Salvador and really loved it. The ticket also got you access to the other ships to walk around which was cool. But the coolest part was that San Salvador was sailed like they would have sailed it waaay back when. We got to see real rigging masts sails steering all being done by a crew and it was a totally amazing experience and such a perfect day. Bonus: we saw dolphins and it was a perfect day. Drawback: the gentlemen speaking throughout didn't talk into his mic often so missed a lot but oh well - who's really going for history?! such a good time!!. 2. I had a good with my tickets and called and tried to talk to folks in person and could never get someone. The tickets were cancelled but not refunded which was a bummer and staff in the kiosk even said they phone lines were messed up. A bummer. :(

I'm from New Orleans and have yet to find a true snowball spot outside of there, so I wasn't about to turn around. The line looked intimidating at first, stretching to the door, but it actually moved pretty quickly. It took about 10 minutes to order and get my food, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the small passionfruit shaved ice stuffed with avocado pistachio ice cream and topped with condensed milk. The ice cream alone deserves its own moment. It was easily some of the best I've had. Rich, creamy, and genuinely impressive. The shaved ice, though, didn't land the same way for me. The menu leans heavily into fruit flavors, which just don't pair that well with something like pistachio or chocolate-based ice cream. The passionfruit itself was pretty tart, which might work on its own, but it clashed with the creaminess of the ice cream. I found myself wishing they had options like coconut, amaretto, or chocolate syrups to balance things out better. Also, coming from New Orleans, I'm used to condensed milk being layered throughout, not just on top. It makes a difference in every bite. And honestly, the price here is noticeably higher for something that didn't quite hit the same. I'd come back for the ice cream without hesitation. As for the shaved ice, it just didn't quite deliver that nostalgic snowball experience I was hoping for. The service was phenomenal though. And it was a lively crowd.

I was very excited and hopeful that we would be able to attend in this worked out. Upon arrival, we also noticed that they were giving out Padres ponchos. The ponchos were really cute and so I'm happy that we also were able to receive that item as a giveaway. The African-American heritage night hats were really well designed and looked really nice. What bothered me is that they ran out of seats in the 100 section where we wanted to sit as a group and so we ended up sitting in the 233 section with some other organizations. It was a cool experience and nice to be in community at the Padre game. It was also cool because the Padres actually won and came back from previously losing to the Colorado Rockies. I will say that I appreciate the restroom attendance here. They really do keep the restrooms, clean, tidy and smelling decent. They are also very well stocked with paper towels, soap and working water faucets. The trash cans are never over flowing either. There are so many concessions here that I can't cover them all. I was very impressed that the Pop Pie Company has a presence here. I really appreciate also that they have the Gaglione Brothers, Stone Brewing, Hodads, the donut place, and several others. My favorite thing to get at the Padre games is the Mr. Softee soft serve. Sadly, I didn't get an opportunity to do that on this visit but I'll definitely do it on the next. Gallagher Square and Park at the Park is so well planned and organized and it makes me feel so good to see so many people enjoying this space. Thanks for putting African-American Heritage night back on the schedule for theme nights.
