There was current pop music playing but soft enough we could still talk to each other. Since it was dinner it was dimly lit. The food is delicious. I had the tuna tartare as an appetizer. How hard is it to look at us, smile, greet, give us menus and take us to a table? Instead this person did none of that and if it were not for half our party standing and waving we would never have known. This is after she told us they were here! Longer story but the climax was we wondered about a lunch menu, sent my daughter to ask and she gives her major attitude and only 1 menu for 6 ppl? We had to ask for the manager by this point and talked about leaving . The rest was good, food doesn't disappoint but why do we have to endure this treatment each time we come? It was empty so no excuse, we were kind and patient with her. Sadly is this the norm now?

The food offered during lunch/dinner is pretty good, but I do wish there were more expansive options. It is odd that there is not one tv at their bar (in case a hubby wants to watch a sports game lol) but I get it's not the vibe. Their brunch is ok but the price is not worth it. It's over $30 if you want the meat and things like cereal , bagels , and juice. Half the price if you only want the basic cereal yogurt and bagels. I would not recommend the brunch to anyone unless they are strictly going for the view. The view and vibe are stunning. The daytime vibe is much different than the nighttime so I highlyyyy recommend going for dinner and drinks. Make a reservation because it gets crowded. The coffee bar that's there early in the morning , which is probably more for the hotel guests because it's not open for long, was kind of a let down! I had the kindest barista that was easy to talk to. However half of their menu wasn't available because there was no matcha and apparently there hadn't been in weeks which is so unfortunate. They have tons of potential and have the right staff, so hopefully they fix that soon!

The slices were perfectly thick, and the sauce + garnish complemented the fish so well. For entrees, I got the brown butter saffron risotto with scallops, and my husband got the smash burger. The flavors were insane, and my scallop was cooked to perfection. I will say both entrees were a little heavy on the salt, but I'm also pretty sensitive to it. My husband thought they were seasoned perfectly, so take that with a grain of salt. And the Clementine Crunch Bar?! Out of this world. Easily one of the highlights of the meal. Our server, Jason, was also so helpful and attentive, going over the menu with us and sharing his recommendations. I loved the open kitchen concept, and the whole experience was great. I would literally come back to San Antonio to try their "feed me" menu -- essentially a family-style omakase. They got 3/3 courses down, so I trust them!

The mushrooms were especially delightful, featuring raw mushrooms sliced thin and topped with freshly grated cheese, which was incredibly flavorful. The eggplant pasta was probably my favorite of the night with lamb hidden within the big pearls of couscous. Our server, Bianca, was phenomenal--warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. She added thoughtful tidbits about the menu and checked in often without being overbearing. She intuited that we were celebrating my birthday and surprised me with a card signed by the team, which was such a lovely moment of unreasonable hospitality. Everything went smoothly until just after dessert. As we were finishing up, my friends gave me birthday gifts, and I was opening them when we were presented with small brownies and asked by another staff member to move to the patio. We completely understood the need to turn the table, especially during a busy service. However, it was a cold day, and while we were told we'd be seated by a heater, we ended up in a corner where the heater wasn't on. We were given blankets, but it continued to get colder. After waiting a bit, I flagged down another server who was able to turn the heater on right away, which helped, this part of the experience felt abrupt and we also felt kinda forgotten. We finished our wine and conversation on the patio, and while it became more comfortable once the heater was on, the transition felt a bit rushed and could have been handled more smoothly. Overall, the food and service--especially from Bianca--were excellent, and the birthday touches were truly appreciated.

My wife and I went to Supper at Hotel Emma for our anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. We sat at the kitchen bar, which ended up being one of the highlights of the night. It was so much fun watching the chefs work, and everyone in the kitchen was incredibly friendly, personable, and welcoming. To make the night even more special, they prepared a few dishes specifically for our anniversary. That personal touch meant so much to us and made the entire evening feel truly memorable. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the experience and the people. Supper went above and beyond to make our anniversary feel special, and we left feeling like we had celebrated somewhere truly unique. I'd highly recommend Supper at Hotel Emma for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion. If you're lucky enough to sit at the kitchen bar, definitely do it!

We chose to sit at the kitchen counter, where the chefs were prepping for the change over to the late shift crew. Can't even remember it all in the haze of how satisfied we felt with every bite.

It was served with flatbread for dipping, and the lemon butter sauce was absolutely delicious. I followed our server's recommendation and ordered the Chicken Napoletana for my entrée. In all seriousness, it was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. The balance of flavors, the sauce, and the overall execution were perfect. I would absolutely come back just to order this dish again. We also had the pizza and spaghetti with meatballs, and both were delicious. The bread deserves a special mention as well- 10/10. I found this restaurant while visiting San Antonio and wanted to avoid dining near the River Walk, so I followed an article that listed it as the best authentic Italian restaurant in the city. After eating here, I completely agree with that assessment. Overall, this was an outstanding meal and a place I would gladly recommend to anyone looking for excellent Italian food in San Antonio.

Now let me tell you about the food. We opened with the crab cakes - they were excellent. Hubbie ordered the Red Fish Pontchartrain and I ordered a custom dinner: Shrimp and sea scallops with the lemon asparagus risotto. Everything was spectacular: beautiful season, beautifully cooked, beautifully presented. However, I must warn you: portions are ENORMOUS. We had to take half of our food home. Still, we decided to order the crème brûlée. Highly recommended! Creamy and not overly sweet. The only thing that we're not outstanding were the bread and the coffee. They could go with a more rustic bread.

(we live in san antonio) but... the experience this time was just ok, not fantastic. despite hubbie making reservations 3 weeks in advance, and restaurant knowing it was a celebratory occasion, we were seated at the very first table - which faces the entrance. awkward location. we pretty much ordered same meal as last time. mexican shrimp cocktail - sauce was very thick in an off putting way, but shrimp was fresh and nicely chilled. hubbie got shrimp & oysters with fries. he's not one to complain much, but he said all were a bit greasy & not as crispy as he'd like. i had shrimp, scallops & broccolini. plate came with not very well prepared broccoli - with no mention from server before or upon arrival of switch. how can broccoli be both under & over at same time? unsure, but parts were very hard and others too soft, so it went mostly uneaten. i would have asked for something else if id known they didnt have broccolini. scallops & shrimp were well prepared, but light, velvety sauce from last time was replaced with slightly "gloopy" and a bit greasy sauce, didnt look or taste very appealing. brussel sprouts were drenched in some type of mayo sauce that was not mentioned on the menu. so "crispy" brussel sprouts were soggy. SO... how much of this experience was on us? we didnt complain, we didnt send back, but we would have had to send EVERYTHING back and this was our anniversary. we are not that picky that every dish needs to be perfectly prepared to our liking. but for is to encounter a problem with every dish? maybe just a bad night. but i dont feel like we received the upscale experience we paid for. only one thing was as fantastic as we remembered - the creme brûlée!
