Beautiful building. Horrible Service. I stopped by last week, yes there are still walk-ins, and got stuck at the call box speaking to a computer. Could not speak to anyone in leasing. So I made an appt for today at 1345 hrs. Arrived a bit early so I waited. And waited. And waited. finally I asked who I was scheduled to tour with and I was told it would be Sareth, the manager or asst manager, but she left 10 minutes prior to my arrival. At this time it is well after my appointed time, which was confirmed by Artificial Intelligence person "BRI." So I tried to set uo a self tour as I have been here well over 30 minutes, and after another 15 minutes of trying to set up a self tour via their app, nothing. I received error messages. the 2 gentlemen at the concierge desk were helpful but did not appear at all surprised that I had been stood up for my appt. It would appear that this is common practice. Not only did I waste 45 minutes in their lobby, it took me another 45 minutes to get there!!! Update*The time is now 2145 hours and NO ONE has bothered to call (or email) and even acknowledge the disrespect that occurred today by not showing up for a scheduled appt. Let alone offer an apology. Silence!!! TODAY- the day after the debacle. I get an email from Sareth telling me she had to "step out for a delayed lunch after a 'scheduled tour at noon'.... SERIOUSLY !!! What about my "Scheduled tour at 1345" ...... did not even mention it. She called it an inconvenience that she was not there. NOT !! It was disregard and disrespect. Been here since 2019. It's an old building and the appliances are old. The bathroom needs a serious update. But for the price there really isn't any where better in the area as long as you don't care about the amenities. The maintenance guys are great and the front desks always amazing. Shout out to Bella who always brings my packages up even though she doesn't have to. The gates work, the elevators work, there's no water issues outside of scheduled maintenance and repairs. The trash is taken out and the trash shoots are in behind doors so it doesn't smell. My only wish is that they time the annual window cleaning better and not during raining season. Or maybe we can get it done twice a year. read more

***Updated*** I've lived in three different spots in DTLA area & this spot is probably my favorite out of the bunch. First time I've renewed a lease also after finishing a 15 month. This place feels like home & more of a community, the other spots felt more of a business relationship rather than your neighborhood. In comparison this is my favorite, and I've lived at La Plaza Village, Hope & Flower & 1133 S Hope. The staff is excellent, from the 24 hour concierge to the leasing agents(Sereth)/managers, they're very friendly and helpful. Sereth has been an excellent leasing agent and made the whole process of moving real smooth. The application and process to get in was easy & straight forward. Also for security deposits I recommend "Jetty" because it's lesser of out of pocket money but when you move you'll be expected to pay up. The amenities are descent and it's only about 7 floors of apartments I believe, so elevator wait times aren't that bad at all, it's covered parking for a fair rate(no worries about sun damage or rain). The social events that the staff also throw are amazing, usually on major/festive holidays. Community building and getting to know your neighbors is there. It's an older building with older appliances but it still really clean. The in home washer dryer, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher is solid. You do get an assigned mailbox, but for packages they use "Parcel Pending" locker system but has a $20 start up cost. Seamless package retrieval(get a bar code and get your packages at the lockers). On top of 24 hour concierge, the front lobby door also uses "Butterfly Mx" app which lets you see your guests at the door bell, which is great for guests and for Uber eats deliveries where you can give them a code. The gym is ok and I use it for the basic workouts. It's missing squat rack and bench press, but there are a lot of options to walk to like LA Fitness, John Reed, Attitude Fitness, & LA athletic club. Water & power is a separate charge through DWP. I'd definitely recommend this spot for a balanced DTLA experience. This has a solid walking rating to a lot of attractions like LA Live & Cryto Center. read more

I have the highest praise for the leasing team over at MetLofts - especially Evan and Sereth. During the process I was moving from Washington, DC to LA without ever visiting the apartment and both went out of their way to be as helpful as possible - doing facetime tours, sending pictures, getting on phone calls with me on a daily basis. Through the process, I changed a combination of my unit, move-in date, and application almost a dozen times and each time they were responsive and just as willing to work with me for what was most convenient. After living in apartments that have been entirely unresponsive, I'm excited to be moving to a building that values and goes above and beyond to be helpful for individuals that are not even in the building yet. DTLA has so many apartment options that it can be really difficult to narrow it down. These apartments were recommended to me by a friend that's been living there for 3 years and I'm so glad we ended up choosing Met Lofts over the other nearby options! The location is fantastic, only 5 minutes to walk to the metro or to go to LA Live so you don't have to worry about LA traffic and parking. The building itself has a very industrial chic aesthetic that works well with the locale too. The leasing team and front desk staff are all extremely helpful and answered my many questions promptly. Special shout outs to Sereth and Brian for making the whole move-in process (tour, logistics, and day-of move) extremely smooth and stress free! Lastly, the apartment itself is such a great bang for your buck! We got a studio and it's one of the biggest studios we saw and was pretty much the same price as the other, smaller options. Not only is the size great but it's also got concrete walls so you don't have to worry about hearing things through them :) read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE. This building kept my security deposit. It took them over 2 months to cut me a check and they kept 90% of it, even though my unit looked almost perfect! They also tried to charge me for an extra day when I actually moved out on my move-out date. Once you sign the lease, the customer service goes downhill now that they have you locked in for a year. They will completely change the way they treat you. This building also receives so many noise complaints because the doors are really thin and poorly made. You can literally hear everything in the hallway. I also made the mistake of leasing an apartment that was close to the garage door. I could hear it slam a hundred times throughout the day. I complained about this for a good month before anything was done about it. Even then, the soft close feature on the garage door would always get worn out after a couple of months so it was back to slamming again. The only good thing about this place is the concierge desk. The ladies working behind the desk are really great. This is the only pro. read more

It's coming up to be 5 years since moving to Met Lofts! We recently moved into a larger unit and signed another 15 month lease so it's safe to say that Met Lofts has been great to us. The past two years the management has been phenomenal and it has made our experience so great that we don't want to leave. Evan, Sereth, and Brian are all fantastic and very responsive with any issues or concerns. Evan, the property manager, is really great at proactively sending emails with any updates to the building. Recently Met Lofts changed the concierge coverage for the front desk and it is literally the best company we have ever experienced. The concierge team, specifically Bella, Robin, and Amaya, are not only diligent but kind and welcoming. We recommend Met Lofts to family and friends and hope to continue to call Met Lofts our home for many years to come! read more

The bulding-wide fire alarm keeps going off. It's 2 AM and the alarm has gone off now, at 1AM, and at 12 AM and I've been jolted awake by the fire alarm every time, and I assume everyone else in the building was as well. At least 3 times a month the fire alarm goes off randomly for a few minutes. It's gotten worse over the last four months. The alarm is insanely loud and can be heard one block over. Never lived in a building where this was a problem. It feels like living in a torture chamber. Also isn't this a safety risk? Everyone assumes a ringing fire alarm is just a false alarm now. If there ever really is a fire, most will assume it's just another misfire. An apartment that allows this issue to continue for months clearly has no concern for the health and safety of its residents. I would urge anyone considering this apartment complex to look elsewhere. read more

This place literally has the worst service ever... don't deal with Bryce. She takes 10 lunch breaks a day... don't even get me started with her manager... she acts like she's busy and loves to jerk ppl around.. this place literally put me thru hell and back trying to get a unit... they are very unprofessional and knowing we made a deposit? They haven't even gave it back after 6 months because there pretending we never applied nor even made a payment. If you see this building I'm warning you now run for your life! They also seem to treat me some type of way for being Asian... they don't like Asian ppl here... I'm very upset and had to move into circa because of the horrible service they offer here. At this point I'm glad I don't live in that building. Corporate needs to know that there staff is ruining the name of the company. read more

I moved in October 2022. The very FIRST day I moved in, the neighbor was having a party with loud music. This was a Thursday and it was 3 am when she was doing it. It didn't stop until around 8 am. I called the leasing office. They said they told her to stop but that either way she was moving out in 2 days... like that matters. Then every week literally after that multiple units on my floor make excessive noise during the day and during quiet hours. All the way from 1 am- 8 am.... Dogs barking, people screaming, people fighting, people having parties... it's like a DORMROOM. Don't move here if you want peace and quiet. I want to move out asap because of this. It's affecting my health and wellness and business. I literally cannot recover at night while I sleep and wake up extremely tired the next day. This keeps going on everyday and the building just doesn't care. I have 17 page threads with the leasing and they still don't do anything about it. So there is NO security that does rounds on the floor to keep the noise down and just see that there's no weird stuff going on. There is a 4 hours gap from like 4 or 5 am to about 9 am that there is NO ONE who works there. This is ridiculous. I have called the front desk multiple times at that time and no one answers. They also told me to call the police for the noise if no one answers at the front desk. However it is the landlords duty to provide quiet enjoyment Health and Safety Code 46000. ... (f) All Californians are entitled to a peaceful and quiet environment without the intrusion of noise which may be hazardous to their health or welfare. (g) It is the policy of the state to provide an environment for all Californians. They literally don't hire someone to walk around at night to verify this noise. One time when the front desk person came up they said they were "unable to verify the noise" well of course... I called you 10 min ago. You just came up now. They basically are against the people that complain about something. And they are ok with these people making noise. Oh let me not even bring up that this is a NON-SMOKING community but people smoke weed all day. It's comes through the vents to my apartment but why call the leasing? They don't care. They're going to say I'm imagining things. At this point I just can't stand this building and the people who run this place. They have not offered us ANY options at all. Not ( we can move you to a different floor, we will hire someone to walk around and control the noise etc... NOTHING) I'm tired of having to wake up out of my sleep for someone else's noise. Do not move here. It's like probably best to look elsewhere for a place. 21 year old college students having parties everyday is what you get here. Not for serious people who have a business and need sleep and or athletes who need sleep to recover. You won't get that here. It's now FEBRUARY 2023 and the same ridiculous behavior is ongoing. read more

Let me start off by saying this is the 2nd time I've lived at Met Lofts. First back in 2014 and now. This was one of the few places I remember not having any real issues so so decided to come back. Many have stated that it's under new management but I can 100% without a doubt say this new management company has dropped the ball. Met lofts itself as a building is decently ok it's nothing special for the money it's very basic. Now to the real reason I'm giving it a 1 star, I live on the 8th floor. My first month here there was no real issue just normal living. As the months went on we got multiple new neighbors who have zero regard for anyone else but themselves. On one side i have an apparent OF girl who moans ridiculously loud that you can hear it through the vents in real time. She does this like clock work through out the day, tho I know this isn't something anyone can control it's super annoying. My neighbor to the right has a large and small dog that bark literally non stop to where I had to contact the leasing office multiple times before they would finally tell her the noise needs to stop after about 20 different times going back and forth with leasing the resident stopped once they contacted her. Done right? No Leasing is an absolute nightmare, Brian specifically, I have to argue with him back and forth through email to get any concern or complaint we have across. We're being woken up now at 3-4am to loud parties, loud music, banging, yelling, screaming and 95% of the time there's no one at the front desk to alert so we get stuck emailing Brian i which he shows ZERO concern and try's to argue that we're basically making this up when we have multiple videos. The leasing office then leaves me a "lease violation" on my door because I apparently knocked on my neighbors door and asked her at 3am to please stop talking so loud she wears headphones and talks as if she's across the street yelling and again Brian and the leasing office ignores the actual concern we have make it into a different situation. Overall I do not recommend this place at all if your any kind of working or respectable adult who values your sleep the Walls are paper thin and it's full of younger age adults who have nothing to do other than play loud music and party. read more

My wife and I feel fortunate to have had Jasmin Nunez take us through the entire process including touring, leasing and the move-in. She was a big part of the reason why we felt so at home and at ease when making the decision to move to Met Lofts. Walls & flooring are thin. My neighbors around continues to knock consistently whenever bothered by a phone call or tv on 9 volume. It's covid; everyone's on the phone & Netflix. I hear neighbors desk scramble, chair (super annoying), bed, drawers, in kitchen.. it's $2,877 for 810 sq ft. & a parking spot. Also the electric charging station for ev's is out of network for the past year. And even residents need to get a guest pass to ensure no one charges longer than 5hrs, simply cannot just be a resident parking sticker. It doesn't work. My usps packages get 'delivered' and no sign of package anywhere or w front desk, happened 3x in the past 1yr 3mo. So although I thought I'd like to enjoy it here, I am happy to move on soon. 3 stars are solely because I enjoyed the staff. They had new management that came in and added scents to the lobby and amenity spaces. They changed up the security team (I witnessed a pretty epic yelling match between guards outside at 2AM with the previous company). Music was usually relevant and added energy. The Stockwell in the lobby was a great addition. Management was very responsive to concerns I had and promptly addressed them. Front desk was friendly and always did their best to help with whatever you needed. The cleaning staff was friendly and did a good job as well. As great as the staff was, that's not going to be the selling point for most self sustaining individuals (it's a large perk and enhances the experience), but it's not the driving force. The location is the reason you are renting here though, let's be clear. And you may have had an easier time qualifying to live here than other communities (they only ask for 2x the rent to be approved). It's not going to be the finishes in the units, it's not going to be their amazing amenities (pool is small and the gym is the size of a closet). This building is a lot older than others in the area so that's just how it was built. No fault to the current staff. The neighbors are where I found the most issues. Non stop music, parties and people being loud, disrespectful at all hours of the day. This is not an upscale professional crowd by any means. If you want the college aged, young adult who is up at all hours and hasn't been taught how to care for themselves yet than this is the place for you. I've never walked into the trash chute room and NOT seen boxes/trash laid out. That's not to the fault of the building (things worked properly), that's just tenants being lazy and not caring. I've had my guests vehicle keyed before (never reported because frankly it's a waste of time and I'm aware you need to obtain a police report and then they need to contact the community, way too much of a process that I didn't have the time for). I've seen homeless people getting into the amenity courtyard before (gates along 11th street are frequently left open by residents leaving). AIRBNB and corporate housing vendors renting units here give it more of a transient vibe then residential. If it wasn't for the staff that I've encountered, it would be a 1 star review. Jackie, Javier, Tony, Christine (no longer there), the young guy at the front desk who always gets excited and waves back to my kiddo when we get back from walks (wish I grabbed his name). Those people made it worth coming home to for the 12 months I was there. A couple pieces of advice for those considering this community. Are you getting a better price point here than anywhere else? If the answer is yes, perhaps it's worth it for you. If you are looking at getting a unit facing Flower Street be ready to hear all type of engines roaring, tires screeching, people yelling outside at all hours. If you're a light sleeper consider facing another direction. read more

My door lock suddenly doesn't work and every associate shows undisguised reluctance to do anything about it, leasing office is footballing me to maintenance, maintenance to leasing, management is unreachable and nobody is helpful, phone calls are not answered for days and days. So I have to show up at the management office several times a day, to find out that nothing is happening about my problem, for 5 days i don't have proper access to my home. At the same time their key works for my door. It's not the first time they are harassing me this way - simply deactivate my key in the system and then have me pay for a new set. I moved out in April if 2022. I got my mii ok e out statement saying they charged me $30 and my return was $720. They said that it would take them 6-8 weeks to send me my check. It is now January 2023 and nothing but stories never get a reply. They gave me the regional property manager phone number and nothing. I hope people read this and have same experience. If so contact me. I have talked to counsel and we will be seeing them for way more for the stress they have caused. This place is horrible read more

Met lifts has been a terrific experience. From two months ago when we started the application process all the way down to the day of move in Brandon was a tremendous help. He assisted in providing all pertinent information making for a smooth easy move in. He was very helpful and extremely professional. Truly one of the nicest guys in the business. Upon move in we arrived at the building and were promptly greeted with smiles and professional service. The building looked clean orderly and quite frankly fantastic. We sat down to go over a few small details before being taken to the unit for a quick walk through. The unit was ready clean and everything it was made out to be. Brandon went on to explain all amenities and locations of everything. Super informative. It has now been a few days since move in and I can't tell you how happy we are to be here. It's the best bang for your buck. Honestly it's the best value in the area as far as amenities, location, quality, and price point. The team here has been an absolute pleasure. This place is an absolute hidden (affordable) gem in the heart of DTLA! My experience at the Met Lofts was the best of all the places I've explored in my time in LA. Our unit was beautifully updated with a great view, and they had amazing amenities all around the building, but what made us LOVE it was the definitely the service. My partner and I moved in here at the height of COVID, and they did tremendously well at making sure everything was sanitary upon moving in and throughout our stay here. During our apartment hunt, this was actually the first building we went to, and all others after did NOT measure up. It was love at first look-and-lease :) SERVICE: The concierge, especially Monica, Adrian, and Marcus, were all very professional, hospitable, and pleasantly helpful and informative. Maintenance was quick, reliable, and respectful of our time and space. The process of leasing was smooth and they made sure that our needs from our initial walk through were met. Sareth helped us find the absolute perfect unit for our price range and comfort necessities, and had great follow up. Both Sareth and Jasmine were also very helpful and patient with us during our messy move out, and actually made it easier by listening to our needs and exploring option after option from the Met Lofts and other sister buildings. Victalina has done a tremendous job with her team and very much cares for the tenants' comfort & safety, and it shows. AMENITIES: They have those super convenient and safe package lockers for your Amazon shopping sprees. Updated and clean gym with an awesome outdoor deck for Yoga. They assigned us parking at our unit's floor, making our lives so much easier for grocery trips. And FREE guest parking?? In Downtown LA?? Impossible to find and VERY convenient for company when they visit! They even offer overnight as well, that is not free, but still fairly priced and convenient. They have AMAZING art pieces sprinkled throughout the building, really making you feel like you're at The Met Museum. They have a heated pool with a stellar floor-level view of the city skyline. 2 awesome community rooms with a HUGE TV, pool table, Wi-fi, and even a ping pong table!! All kept very clean and functionally all year round, really all your luxurious needs for a fair price. Also, amazing restaurant options on-site and surrounding the building like El Cholo for authentic Mexican food and Kai's table for elevated comfort food! I'm so sad to be leaving the Met Lofts and their incredible team. Thank you to everyone for being the hospitality professionals you are and giving us the luxury Downtown experience we envisioned for ourselves! Metlofts has a lot going on for it. It has the pool, the gym, the concierge, great views, good parking, the proximity to the Staples Center ... pretty much everything what you want in an apartment. So, we love the place and the ambiance, but Brandon has been the cornerstone of why we moved to Metlofts. He knew everything about getting us on-board and there were no tricks or frustrations; everything was laid out and explained clearly. We got exactly what we were looking for in the price range we were wanting to be in. Also, I have NEVER seen a leasing consultant work as hard as Brandon ... if he is on duty, he is moving everywhere in the building making sure everyone is happy and gets a friendly hello. Quite unheard of. There needs to be more leasing consultants like Brandon and waaay more people will have more positive experiences like ours. read more

Security is garbage. I've lived in luxury buildings since I moved to LA 4 years ago. I am use to a certain amount of kindness and respect from the staff working at these buildings so it's crazy for me to experience such disrespect from security officers with minimal work load on their hands during their shifts. Security is not only lazy but also extremely rude. Their work load is slack and yet they can't seemed to be bothered to put on a smile Or open a door when a tenants have their hands are full. Tayana Hicks, has the easiest shift and never lifts a finger and extremely rude, she doesn't take pride in her job at all. Management, just cares about sales and is unapologetic when someone from their staff makes an error or shows incompetence. Not only that but they are constantly changing their building rules so if you sign with them under one impression, months later, the rules will change and you now have to abide by a completely set of protocol that you didn't sign up for. Be ware of constant rule changes when you sign up. By changing the rules they also don't send you a notice to sign either. So whether you like it or not, you have to live under the new rules without objection or say. Jaime, the manager does not care about her tenants at all and her dogs are always without leashes. Amenities. The business centers printer always has issues, the printer and computers are always breaking down. It's a dog friendly building with no area for dogs. The pool area doesn't even appeal to go in it. It's always under kept. I don't live in this building but I've visited my friend enough to get outraged myself from how horrible this building is. read more

Update! I'm hanging out listening to the fire alarm, which has gone off around twenty times today. It's 11pm. I've lived here since 2016 and I'm dropping it to one star because this is unacceptable. They constantly need to leave outside doors to hallways open to keep airflow going. The gym air doesn't work so the garage type door is always open. I have no idea if my AC works. The garage has been broken for months. Berkshire doesn't give a shit about actually repairing this place. read more

I considered living here but realized that I would only get to eat twice a week in order to afford rent. The leasing agent is quick and swift and you could secure a rental the same day (subject to availability) if you can write a check for their deposit and have your driver's license ready. Their leasing office is in the same building which is very convenient. Met Lofts have units of all shapes and sizes with varying views. Nice place to live if you can afford it. Met Lofts used to be called The Metropolitan and is two blocks from LA Live. We met again when my friends and I parked outside to avoid parking at the LA Live. The building has a grid of red neon squares outlining each unit's window and the squares would blink in random sequences...random so we thought but i'll explain later Now, outside the main front door, they have a grid of squares on the ground that pedestrian visitors could step on to make different patterns of squares light up. We spent about half an hour just jumping around like we were in the movie, Tron, trying to get the whole grid to light up. To add to the fun, these squares come with sound effects. and then... the grid read, PONG, and then the grid became the field for Pong!!! Turns out, the pattern of the grid on the ground becomes the same pattern of the grid on the windows! How cool is that? I feel bad for the residents upstairs who had to put up with us for a good half hour. This thing turned us into children and is totally a great tourist attraction. read more

First, the tour. We had made an appointment online, and the appointment was honored by the one and only Brandon! Brandon was our leasing consultant and had walked us through the community. Note that it was the last apartment we were viewing by the time we got to Met Lofts around 4:00 pm, so we were pretty exhausted and pretty much done for the day. But Brandon somehow got us hooked and very intrigued with Met Lofts. Brandon was very kind, informative, thorough and honest about the community. We saw multiple units that were available, and he had units that were below, around and above the budget, which was great for decision making. He was very clear on the pricing of the units and it was by far the most fun we had while apartment viewing throughout DTLA. Next, the application process. The application process was such a breeze. Brandon provided thorough and easy steps to complete the application process. Once the background check and such were completed, he was very responsive with followup communications. I was fortunate to have Brandon help us with the process. He provided answers to all of my questions and more, and was extremely professional and kind. During the walk-through. He came out to greet me and was very accommodating with the timing because I had to drive back from work on a weekday. He took his time to go through the building and checked off everything on the list. There were few things pending on the list of things to be completed prior to move-in, and he ensured that everything was taken care of by the promised date. After the move-in. We're still putting the final touches to the apartment, but thus far, cannot be happier. It is such a great loft!!! The floors are all concrete, so there's no noise from neighbors. I can blast music and cannot hear a thing as soon as I leave the unit. The parking spots are great, as they are around the same floor as your unit, and the trash chute area is the cleanest I've seen thus far. I want to take the time to say thank you to Brandon and the staff for being so great!!! I'm sure there are other staff members that I'll be meeting throughout my stay, but I have nothing but great thins to say about the community! I really hope to be staying here a while! read more

Leaving a review after living here for 6 months - Candido and Ricardo are amazing, reliable and just the most caring and sweet maintenance staff! Serat and Jasmin the leasing staff are very easy to work with and very responsive, and helped me get a great deal and a wonderful apartment. The only concern I have had with this building is the safety of the neighborhood and how easy it is to enter, but so far no incidents. 4 stars because the two things that could be better are if there was round the clock concierge and better security. read more

The leasing office is great. Its very nice to be able to have a relationship with Victalina, Sereth, Jasmin, and Brian! They are all very helpful & maintenance is very on top of things. Overall 10/10. read more
