    Chicken Curry via Delivery
    Kevin D.

Flavorful/Small Portions! First time tried "Methi" (9/17/22) via UberEats Delivery. Got a Buy 1 Get 1 Free deal for "Chicken Curry." I ordered the "Chicken Curry ", "Mango Lassi" & "Rice Pudding." My meal arrival: chicken curry/rice still warm. Well packaged. The chicken curry had a good flavor. Now why mediocre rating... The chicken curry-watery texture & mango lassi watery too. I prefer a creamy lassi. The rice pudding watery yes! The portions also small. Perhaps dining @the restaurant the meal will tasted better? Accepts both cash and credit card. They also are utilizing DoorDash, an online delivery service. We did use doordash for this order. My review will be on the restaurant and not the service by doordash. We ordered from here as we drove past it a few times when we are in the area. We were craving for some Indian food and wanted to give this place a try. We ordered the lamb vindaloo and another lamb dish (can't remember the title). We also ordered their veggie samosa. For starters, their veggie samosa was nice and crispy. Comes with two types of sauces to make the experience more interesting. The samosa were packed in a brown bag, but was not sealed. To management, Consider closing the bags to prevent dust / particles from entering the bag. We then went and ordered two types of curry dishes (1 spicy and 1 non spicy). Both appeared to be very similar. To be perfectly honest, I was not impressed with their entrees. Felt like the quantity for the price was not worth it. The meat was quite small and it was mostly just sauce / curry in the takeout trays. Their entree comes with rice. The tray for the rice was small and spilled in the bag due to the packaging box being too small with gaps letting rice to escape. Can't comment much on customer service as my experience was strictly take-out. Overall, I give this place a 3 star. The food was okay, sorta pricey. In terms of the quality, the food was a bit pricey for what you get. If you are craving for any Indian food, this place is okay. There are a wide variety of options in the MoCo area.

    Hairy Butter Chicken

I always order my favorite Indian dish, butter chicken from this restaurant and have been mostly pleased in the past. Unlike other places, their butter chicken is a little on the sweeter side which I don't mind and actually prefer instead of too spicy. The butter chicken is less expensive than other places as well but the portion size seems much smaller so there won't be any leftovers. My last visit will truly be my last visit because the chicken tasted old and as if I were eating leftovers for some reason and when I got down to one of my last bites, I pulled out a hair that did not come from my own head along with my bite of chicken. I absolutely understand that this happens sometimes but that along with what I'd consider to be declined quality and tiny portion doesn't make the cheaper price worth it to me.

I ordered food last night from Methi Indian and Nepalese Cuisine for pickup. The restaurant is a bit tricky to find if you've never been there before. Google Maps makes things very confusion. What you want to do is park in the parking lot with the 7-11 and the El Sabor Latino Bakery, and then walk around to University Boulevard. The signage isn't very bright or big, but I found it once I was at the corner of Georgia Avenue and University Boulevard. The interior is pretty bare but the ambiance of a mostly to-go place doesn't bug me as long as the food is very good. And the food was very good indeed! I ordered garlic naan ($2.95), chicken tikka masala ($12.95), and chicken wrap ($7.95). I asked for the two chicken dishes to be spicy, and they were just the right spice level. Both were made with fresh white chicken breast. The wrap was a bit messy but extremely tasty, chock full of flavor, and seasoned just right. The tikka masala was also very good, a great portion size, and came with a good helping of plain rice. The garlic naan was not too buttery, was decently priced, and tasted fresh. I intend to return and am glad to have found a new Indian place on the way home from work.

The chili paneer was a bit sweet, although the paneer was delicious, really chewy and flavorful. Goat momos had so much flavor, the soup was delicious, loved it. And I'm sad we did, because the food was NOT good. We ordered - Impossible meat momos 3/5 - they were okay...not the best and not the greatest. The flavor was hiding and the momo did not stay in tact at all. The sauce that they served alongside did not enhance the momo at all. Veggie momo 3/5 - again, they were okay. In fact, I think these were worst than the impossible meat momos. Didn't seem like there was any flavor and just veggies mushed together with salt and pepper. Raita 3/5 - way too liquidy for my liking. I thought they would at least provide rice, but no. So it was just basically liquid yogurt with a couple of strips of cucumbers and carrots. Paneer chili 0/5 - the container literally said 'paneer chili' and after 2/3 bites, I asked my friend if this was actually paneer because it was kind of chewy? Of course it wasn't and it was chicken!! I'm vegetarian so I was so disappointed that they put the wrong item in our order, especially since the container explicitly said paneer. This morning I woke up with a terrible stomachache. The food definitely did not sit right with me. I'm definitely going to skip this place and try Moh Moh Licious next time.

The prices were reasonable as well. What a great choice, quite literally the best Indian food we've ever had anywhere, hands down! We had an appetizer; samosa chaat, so good and fresh! We had butter chicken as an entree which had the most amazing, creamy, smooth taste I've ever had, no one does it like that! Also got the tandoori paneer tikki, so good, cheese was smoky and melts in mouth, the cheese and butter naan we got was yummy as well! We got a birthday drink too which was quite refreshing. During the meal the owner stopped to see how the food was, I told him it was the best we've ever had, I told him we we're celebrating my sons birthday, at the end of the meal he surprised him with a cake and turned on happy birthday music playing throughout the speakers in the restaurant ! Such a cool ending to a fantastic meal! Not only was the food fantastic but the owner is so friendly and nice! Cannot wait to go back !! You need to runnnnn there !!

The food here is extremely authentic and well seasoned I've eaten most of the lamb/goat dishes here and they're all phenomenal! The first time I came I believe my table had the goat curry, lamb curry, pani puri, samosa chaat, and butter chicken. And this time we got the goat sekuwa, lamb karahi, lamb thakali thali, and pani puri (again). I think it speaks volume about a place when the butter chicken (which is still great) is not the standout dish in a desi restaurant. And even then it's one of the most seasoned versions I've ever tasted. The dishes here are all amazing, flaborful, and not spicy (though I'm sure you can always ask about adding or taking away spice to the waiters). The service here is fast, there's never been a long line. And the place is very clean, spacious, and good for all ages. I cannot recommend this place enough, if you're debating whether or not you should come consider that debate over -- you're coming.

It wasn't a platter type of night, but both Indian and Ethiopian cuisines have some great appetizers, so we stopped in after a movie. It was cool to see the breakdown of a vibey bar scene on one side and a sit down area on the other period both sides had the World Cup showing, so there was really no going wrong. The woman who greeted us led us to decide where we wanted to go. According to their hours, they are open until 1AM. We decided to get the stuffed naan basket, sambusas, and chicken momos -- A nice but fairly light spread for the evening. We or later told that they were finished with the naan basket... For an Indian restaurant more than 3 hours before they closed, that was surprising to me... I should have specified whether it was naan in general or just that basket, but still. The other two items came after 25 minutes or so. The sambusas were fried HARD, but had a great flavor. The momos were solid! We had a good time catching up, and they did great keeping water refilled (mostly). It took a while to close out -- they probably thought we were invested in the game and not in a hurry, but it's a weeknight and we were on Metro's time. I am curious about their proper Indian and Ethiopian entrees ... By the way, I saw a mouse right before we left... It was in the back on the dining room side past the tables.

Everything was packaged in a paper bag and the sides were double wrapped with foil and labeled on top to distinguish the different sides. I ordered the palak paneer (full side - $10), black daal (half side - $7), and veggie samosas. I'm not sure how the full and half translate to ounces, but side by side, I feel like I'm getting gypped somehow - like the half isn't half and the full isn't full (and not in a beneficial way)... you can look at my pics and be the judge. We enjoyed the veggie samosas ($7.50 on Grubhub, comes with two pieces). It was served with the sweet tamarind sauce (no mint cilantro chutney/green sauce). The samosas had good crunchy texture and weren't too spicy. The palak paneer and black daal were adequate but not my favorite. The palak paneer had a few large chunks of paneer at the bottom (but I wouldn't say generous) and the flavor was too gingery for me. The black daal was pretty standard in terms of flavor, and a little chunkier than I'm used to. But, I do love daal anything, so this fit the bill. Food was just okay overall - I don't plan on adding this place to my normal rotations.
