The menu is very diverse. There is something for everyone. The food portion is amazing, but more importantly, delicious.

For a no frills takeout place the Indian food is excellent. And the spicy dishes are Indian spicy. So much better than Bombay grill.

And I'm sad we did, because the food was NOT good. We ordered - Impossible meat momos 3/5 - they were okay...not the best and not the greatest. The flavor was hiding and the momo did not stay in tact at all. The sauce that they served alongside did not enhance the momo at all. Veggie momo 3/5 - again, they were okay. In fact, I think these were worst than the impossible meat momos. Didn't seem like there was any flavor and just veggies mushed together with salt and pepper. Raita 3/5 - way too liquidy for my liking. I thought they would at least provide rice, but no. So it was just basically liquid yogurt with a couple of strips of cucumbers and carrots. Paneer chili 0/5 - the container literally said 'paneer chili' and after 2/3 bites, I asked my friend if this was actually paneer because it was kind of chewy? Of course it wasn't and it was chicken!! I'm vegetarian so I was so disappointed that they put the wrong item in our order, especially since the container explicitly said paneer. This morning I woke up with a terrible stomachache. The food definitely did not sit right with me. I'm definitely going to skip this place and try Moh Moh Licious next time.

Very cute and quiet! The food was tasty and the drink was pretty good. Service was good and quick.read more

My favorite dish was the the sukuti sadheko appetizer -- the goat was almost jerky like, chewy (in the best way) but still tender; and spicy. It was served with these rice crispies that looked plain, but had so much flavor on their own. It was a fun & delicious play on texture, flavor and spice. The braised yak was tender and warm with the spices and rice, yum. Loved all the options for goat, lamb, yak, etc. There were also plenty of options for vegetarians as well.

The bar area is big and spacious, and usually sitting at the bar means better, more attentive service. The place was mildly busy, so I expected things to run smoothly -- but that wasn't the case. Right from the start, the bartender wasn't very attentive. We had to ask multiple times just to place our order. For appetizers, we tried the Goat Buttan and the Wild Boar -- we wanted to explore some of the unique delicacies on the menu. Both dishes were interesting, and the Goat Buttan and Wild Boar were actually pretty solid. Unfortunately, the service continued to be an issue. We had to flag the bartender again just to order our entrées and even for simple water refills. We ordered the Mutton Taas and the Yak Chili. The Yak Chili was very good, but the Mutton Taas was extremely dry -- like eating cardboard -- and lacked flavor. Throughout the night, our bartender was constantly absent. More than once, we had to ask another bartender to get his attention so we could get basic service. After finishing our meal, we ordered a dessert, the Gulab Jamun. The presentation looked nothing like the picture -- more like a sloppy drop of pudding -- and the taste was just as disappointing. And again, we had to flag down another bartender because ours was nowhere to be found. Service overall was lackluster, and the tip options started at 20% with no 18% choice. For the level of service we received, 15% would have been more appropriate. I won't be returning anytime soon unless I'm specifically craving their unique delicacies -- which is once in a blue moon.

Saturday 1/24/26…read more Made a re-visit today to use a $5 coupon I received, which I appreciate, but also I wanted to update my rating as I may have been a bit too quick to crown it in one of my previous reviews. Also, in roughly 9 months, prices have gone up nearly $2 for specific items that I had gotten previously, which isn't a good look. All in all, I still do believe that it's still up there for some of the best Indian food I've had in Maryland, but it's not worthy of the 5-star, as the 4-star fits it better. -- #issa.cheatday

My go-to spot for Indian food has always been India Palace in Germantown, but I wanted to give…read moreSpiceLife a try. I'd skip the chicken biryani here -- it's boneless, but the rice is just plain white instead of the flavorful fried style you get at India Palace. India Palace still wins for overall taste, though SpiceLife does have better appetizers. The onion padakoor and chili paneer were both really good! I tried the chicken tikka ($18), but the portion was small and had a noticeable tomato aftertaste. India Palace's version has a richer flavor. The Chicken 65 was okay -- small chunks for $16. The poori was fine, and the bhatura came as four smaller triangles instead of one big piece like at India Palace, but the breads here are cheaper. After trying a bunch of dishes, I'd say India Palace is still my top pick for Indian food, but SpiceLife comes in a solid second place.

It's probably really good during the day, too -- but I love ordering from here late at night! This is my go-to for great late night (but also daytime) wonderful, tasty, spiced-just-right nourishment -- mmm! I greatly enjoy their Channa Masala regularly. Truth be told, that is one of my most favourite dishes so I don't stray away from it too much .... I actually like to get a side of that and a side of Dal Makhani along with some Papadum, Mango Chutney, Mixed Pickles and Raita -- a perfect little (but not too little!) meal with some flavour left over for later .... (Ooh, should I be giving away my secrets so freely like this? Hmm ....) The Garlic Naan is also very good. I can't comment too much on most of the menu since I liked what I got and have stuck with it! (Also, I've been eating from here for years and years and don't remember everything I've tried ....) One thing I can say about this place is: I have never been disappointed! I would say that dining in late at night during the winter, it might be a little bit cold for those who are used to more heated spaces .... In terms of accessibility, if you need an entrance without stairs, then using the front entrance would be the way to go -- and since the parking is in the back and the front entrance is on a major road without parking right there, you would need to go around to the front from the back, which also involves going down an incline using the sidewalk. (I have provided a photo of the back staircase for you to see.) Highly recommended! Yay! Also, super-yummy-yum! :-D

We've ordered from here about 20x now and built up some reliable go-to dishes including the Aloo Gobhi and Channa Masalla. Roti and Garlic Naan are also great. I do recommend doing delivery or pickup as the place is very much a hole-in-the-wall joint and less of an actual restaurant than a kitchen. Still amazing food, very consistent. There's zero chance I won't be ordering again in the coming month.

My wife and I had been here for lunch before and had a good experience, so this time we figured why not check it out for dinner? Turns out, it was a great idea. The wait for the food was a bit on the longer end, but to be perfectly fair, we ordered a LOT, so we certainly didn't mind. By the time the food hit the table, we forgot about it almost entirely because the smells of freshly made kitfo, lamb tibs, and this stewed chicken dish whose name I can't remember (but it came with a hardboiled egg!) hit our nose, nothing else mattered. The food was presented in a way that somehow matched the overall vibe of the restaurant, which at this time of night was set to be kinda toned down with dingy lighting and smooth music. Huge call out to my waiter that I curse myself for not getting his name, because he is, simply put, the best server I've ever had at a restaurant. Not only was he timely and discreet about topping off our waters, but also checked in about soft drinks as well, and when he heard my son saying the food was too spicy for him, he took it upon himself to get him something else to eat that wasn't spicy at all, and without myself or my wife asking. If you're looking for a great place to eat with a killer atmosphere and even better service, you've found it.

It wasn't a platter type of night, but both Indian and Ethiopian cuisines have some great appetizers, so we stopped in after a movie. It was cool to see the breakdown of a vibey bar scene on one side and a sit down area on the other period both sides had the World Cup showing, so there was really no going wrong. The woman who greeted us led us to decide where we wanted to go. According to their hours, they are open until 1AM. We decided to get the stuffed naan basket, sambusas, and chicken momos -- A nice but fairly light spread for the evening. We or later told that they were finished with the naan basket... For an Indian restaurant more than 3 hours before they closed, that was surprising to me... I should have specified whether it was naan in general or just that basket, but still. The other two items came after 25 minutes or so. The sambusas were fried HARD, but had a great flavor. The momos were solid! We had a good time catching up, and they did great keeping water refilled (mostly). It took a while to close out -- they probably thought we were invested in the game and not in a hurry, but it's a weeknight and we were on Metro's time. I am curious about their proper Indian and Ethiopian entrees ... By the way, I saw a mouse right before we left... It was in the back on the dining room side past the tables.
