When they finally called, they flip-flopped on the diagnosis multiple times within a few hours -- first confirming a corrupted Windows install, then claiming it was fixed, then reversing again to say it was still corrupted. They quoted me $90 for a data transfer and $110 for a Windows reinstall. Since I had my own install media, I said I only needed the transfer -- and the price for that alone jumped to $180, with the excuse that it was only "discounted" when bundled with their install. I paid it anyway to protect my files. When I picked up the PC, they assured me -- twice, after I directly asked -- that reinstalling Windows myself at home would work fine. It didn't.
