I went to Methodist Olive Branch ER. Saw Dr. Tony Wright. He uses PaymentsMD for billing, and they are awful! They coded my ER visit as a routine visit, when it was clearly an ER visit. I talked to them at least 6 times, and they say theyll change the code to the correct one, and they never do. Have not been able to find a contact # for Tony Wright, MD to try to get HIS billing company to code the over $1200 bill correctly. Tony Wright MD needs to change his billing company, because they are terrible and I can't get help from anyone. If you go to the methodist olive branch ER, tell them you do not want to see Tony Wright MD, because you'll get screwed. read more

It took 4-5 nurses to find a vein in my arm for an IV. That was 4 days ago. This is my arm today.

I appreciate the care I have received there. I did not care for ER doctor named Wright. He speaks to you as if you are an idiot. The nurses are exceptional!! read more

Was able to check in at the ER with literally no wait. I was given a room and was told exactly what procedures would be done and why. Every single person who worked on me was extremely personable and knowledgeable. Anyone I encountered in the ER took their time to explain things and check on me. The Department of Health and Other Federal agencies should thoroughly investigate this hospital based on the following: Discrimination based on origin and religion Medical misdiagnosis- Not properly checking for drug allergies or reaction to sedation, yet insisting on a medical closure based on minimal observation. Improper medical checks (treating patients based on the opinions of next kin or personal-work morale) and limited patient care/opinions Failure to inform the patient before invading their body and misrepresenting patient communication Unfairly financially penalizing patients for doctor's and nurse's mishaps and excessive usage of medical machinery. read more

i have admitted my mother there on numerous occasions and every time they send her home just as sick or if not worse than the condition in which she arrived in. she never stays in the ER for longer than 8 hours it seems. she was sent home with a 101 fever once. another time they wheeled her out with a blood sugar of 58. knowing she's a diabetic. they then tried to charge me for a juice... it's a joke at this location. read more

My family and I are new to the area from a different state, much larger populated city, and unfortunately I became sick. First I went to an urgent care who advised me to go to the ER, Methodist Olive Branch since it wasn't that far and the ER wait wouldn't have me sitting there for hours. I view and hear many complaints about wait time for hospitals since I am in the healthcare field but I don't think many who leave a city and live in other states know that ER wait times in highly populated cities with a mix of insured and uninsured can take up to 9-12 hours wait JUST to have a triage nurse see you. I got to Methodist waited probably about forty minutes before a triage nurse saw me, first test ran within a hour and a half of sitting there and taken back to a room within barely two hours. Kudos Methodist! Once back the nurse was extremely nice, (thanks Cassie), made my young daughter feel comfortable while mommy felt terrible and did not treat me or my concerns as if I was just another "patient to get in and out for a bed". Grateful for Cassie! And then WHAM, I was seen by the BEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CARING Nurse Practitioner I have met not only in my life but in being in Healthcare. LeighAnn made sure she explained to my husband, and to myself, what the plan was, the treatment and what the results were. Go figure, most doctors and NPs just come in for the assessment and leave it up to the nurse (who usually is just moving along to get to the next patient) to tell you your diagnosis and then send you on your way with no explanation of meds or plan. My husband who is usually a reserved man, gushed over LeighAnn and her skills, her knowledge and her bed side manners. If Methodist could use her to teach a class on how to make patients feel, how to treat them and care for them, Methodist would receive five stars every review. I'm thankful for her being there and for taking care of me to allow me to worry only about feeling better!!!! I left one star off because the X-ray tech told me to take my bra off but did not give me a gown, did not offer me privacy and then snickered on the side with a student. read more

I would give it a negative star if I could. There are a multitude of reasons why I wouldn't recommend this incompetent hospital to even my worst enemy. Their doctors are incompetent and rude. 1.They refused to pump the stomach of of a relative that was overdosing on pills because "hospitals just don't do that anymore." That is what one of the ER nurses personally told me. His life was saved because he threw up majority of the pills, not from the care of the doctors. 2. They waited until the last possible moment to transport a family member with a 95% blockage in their heart that they somehow missed during tests and scans also waiting on Medicare and that person died right before they were able to move him to the helicopter to be transported to Methodist Germantown when they finally realized they weren't well enough equipped to handle the situation. 3. They also told another family member who was in there for blood transfusions and who is continuously passing stool with blood, that there is no active bleed in their GI track. That was only because the doctor couldn't get past a blockage 1/4 of the way into their bowels. He tried different size scopes and couldn't get past it. She was not blocked because the whole time she was in there, she would show the nurses all the blood that was coming out. So instead of doing a different exam to find out where the bleeding was coming from he simply just said that she wasn't actively bleeding anymore despite the large amount blood in her stool. So no, I would not recommend this hospital to literally anyone on this planet. I have literally never had a good experience here. And the CEO gave a bullshit response to emails concerning the doctors in question with these exact situations. If you want doctors that actually value human life, I personally would go elsewhere!!! read more

The Emergency room personnel are great. However it doesn't accept "Tricare" insurance for admittance. Only for the Emergency Room. This resulted in an ambulance ride to Baptist Desoto. This means I can't use Methodist of Olive Branch. Methodist of Olive Branch might as well not even exist for me. This is unfortunate as I'm a retired Army Veteran and I live two miles away but it simply doesn't exist for my care. And Baptist Desoto, well they tired, I think but I never want to go to Baptist Desoto ever again. Nurses are simply over worked and you could die there and it'd be hours before they checked if you're not on monitoring equipment. Too bad I have to go into Memphis when I need a hospital and one is two miles away that I can't use. read more

I had the worst experience at this facility. The nursing staff was kind with the exception of one nurse I could overhear publicly discussing my case. The doctor on duty did not introduce himself to me and was very dismissive. Fortunately I had my aunt on the line to confirm his lack of bedside manner. What hurt the most is I could overhear him introducing himself to the patient next door. The door was opened and the difference between them and I was he was a white man and I, a black woman. I never want to visit this facility again. I'll be following up with my PCP for steps to file a formal complaint. My pain is just as significant as any patient and there is no medical rationale as to why additional tests were not ordered. I've been told the Germantown location is better, but service should be consistent no matter which branch is visited. read more

I went in June 30, 2021 for a CT with contrast. The girl who started my IV had no idea what she was doing. She messed it up so bad that I have seen my PC about the pain several times. I had an ultrasound on it to see if the vein could still be used to draw blood or used for and IV in the future. It has been 8 months and there has not been one pain free day. I am sure she damaged a tendon and a nerve. I answered a survey sent after the procedure and told them of the damage. I never heard back. So my arm is messed up for possibly the rest of my life? I recently had to spend a week in this hospital. I went in with serious breathing issues and these Drs and Nurses went above and beyond to treat me and make me comfortable. Everyone needs to be told Thank you For what they do. With everything going in right now they put my health first and got me all the help I needed to get well enough to come home and continue recuperating. Spent ONLY an hour total in the emergency room on a Sunday with an awful ear infection and pain. Got in and out.

I have been here for multiple reasons and they are great . In the ER they have one rude nurse but i looked past that bc i was still taken care of . The womens floor they make you feel welcome and are very caring . The 2 woman that i check in with are the sweetest ladies . There was a girl taylor who just did not want to deal with me . I tried to make an appointment for cramps bc i was tired of being sent to the ER and she told me that just wasnt a good enough reason . Fell on ice and broke wrist on a Friday evening. Quickly drove to ER. In lots of pain and there was no delay, they took me in immediately. Never had so many people treating me in any ER I have ever been to in the past 70 yrs. Was in and out of the ER in less than 3 hours, which is shocking. Nurses, aids, PA's & Dr's all very outgoing and courteous. Don't know cost, but it was worth every cent. Will be my ER of preference from now on. read more

For me, when someone has an non emergency, you should be able to speak to a nurse without being charged a kings ransom for diagnosis. My insurance was charged over $1,300 just a finger prick and blood pressure reading? I only received a one time prescription for which was not the correct one; according to my primary physician. I am happy that Olive branch has this facility and it was sorely needed; however, for value, please do not go to ER here UNLESS you truly have an emergency! read more

Had severe pain in left arm. Suspected pinched nerve. It was the holidays & they were busy but they were kind to every soul I saw. Seemed to get a lot done in a little time. My husband said it was the shortest time ever in an ER. This is now our hospital of choice. read more

I know I have already written a review for Methodist OB, however, I delivered my son there in December and I cannot express enough how wonderful of an experience that I had there. My nurse, Nicole Jeans, made our experience fantastic! She was personable. attentive, compassionate and beyond supportive. In addition, Alisha, Kathy and Mary were also wonderful and went above and beyond to care for my son and I. Dr. Ziebarth delivered my son and provided the later half of my prenatal care. She was encouraging, direct and honest with us during the entire process. I found her to be very easy to talk to as I expressed my concerns and fears of labor and delivery. My pain was well-managed and my experience as a whole was relaxed. I have a Master's degree in Health Administration with a concentrated study on quality health care. I can think of no better application of quality than Methodist Olive Branch, particularly their L&D floor. They support and empower mothers, while providing outstanding care and education. Thank you to everyone who took part in helping to deliver our sweet baby boy! It was truly a blessing to be in such good hands. read more

The front service was horrible, really. It was honestly extremely dirty, but they do get their work done fast. Also, their chairs and seats are no where near convenient or comfortable for visitors. Especially when you're there for over 10 hours waiting for a baby to arrive overnight. It was very difficult to sleep. read more

I will NEVER come back to this hospital. The nurse, Gina, would not listen to me at all and made my condition worse. I asked the doctor, Dr. Waldrop I believe, to unwrap me from a blanket because I was overheating and couldn't get it off because of how tightly the nurse had wrapped me. I felt as though I was suffocating and the doctor looked at me and did nothing. I was yelled at, not listened to, and the service was horrible. We waited hours for test results when we were told it would only take 20 minutes. If you can help it, do not come here. If you do have to come here, ask for Rachel. She was pretty much my only good experience. Tina at the front desk was also very nice and tried to help as best she could. There are good people here, but overall it was a horrible experience. Been to this ER twice since it opened. First visit was extreme stomach pains. ER staff spent more time talking & flirting with my sons then tending to me. Gave me a pain shot, prescription for pain pills sent me home. Told me to see my PCP. PCP sent me to another ER to have emergency surgery for infected Gallbladder. In the hospital 5 days afterwards. That Dr said OB Methodist staff were idiots for sending me home. Second visit, went due to PCP sent me to go (Saturday) due to fear of dehydration & to get blood work for possible intestinal infection. Never saw an MD only nurse & Nurse Practioner. They did blood work & CT. Came back said everything came back normal. Agreed to give me some fluids as I expressed concern that I couldn't keep anything in my stomach, not even liquids. I stayed 5 hrs to get this & 2 prescriptions & told to see my PCP. Worse part of this experience,.......... they hooked me up to IV, pulled side rails up on bed, put nurse call button way out of reach ( I was at the ER alone) & I soiled myself & had to lay in it for an hour before they ever came back in room. I am willing to die before I ever go back to this hospital again!! Such a disgrace..... for Olive Branch! read more

I went to the ER for a nose bleed that had been going on for 3 hours. Within minutes I was taken to a room, a specialist checked me over & because of my blood pressure, they took special care of me, took care of the nose bleed, made me an appointment for a specialist for the next day & called in my prescriptions. Then sent me home & called me to make sure I got home okay. A nurse called me later that afternoon & again the next morning. read more
