Good selection of local fresh produce, bake goods and artisan crafts. Worth the short wall before heading out to hike.

As we were…read moreleaving the urgent care to head to our airbnb in Mason, we saw the public market sign, reminiscent of the Seattle Public Market sign. We initially decided to drive past by but since we were in the area, we decided to give it a try and actually go inside. Glad that we did. We had lunch at Fire, did a flight of wines at Jones of Washington, bought cheese at the Cheesemonger, had gelato at Ice and topped it with a london fog from Cafe Columbia.

Whether you're looking for a fine wine, a cheese to pair with it, some sliced meats to construct a charcuterie board, fresh honey, olives and olive oil, or just a bite to eat and a cocktail, Pybus Public Market has something for you. Being from out of town, the Pybus Public Market was one of the first places of interest I spotted in Wenatchee on Yelp, and I knew it was the sort of place that would interest my wife and I. This place is the sort of community hub that takes the best of what a city or town has to offer, and presents it attractively in one neat, concise package, appealing to locals and tourists alike. My only strike against it would be wishing that it was larger, and even more comprehensive!

During my short stay in Stehekin, I visited The Garden twice, first during a scenic bike ride and again the following morning as I walked back from breakfast. I was absolutely blown away on both visits. The property is peaceful perfection, nestled along the quiet valley road. I could have sat there all day listening to the bees, smelling the flowers in the air, and listening to the breeze. Carl's beautiful dahlias were in full, vibrant bloom and it was clear they were well cared for. I purchased some of the best blueberries and peaches I've ever tasted and also treated myself to a lovely hand salve. There were also natural soaps, tinctures, and other handmade goods that Eire reflective of the deep connection this space has to the community and land. Although perhaps the most priceless part of the visit was some time with Carl himself. What a warm, thoughtful, and fascinating soul. He's been living in Stehekin for over 50 years so I'm sure he has some fascinating stories. We chatted for a bit and I feel like I could have spent all day talking to him about the garden, the valley, the changing seasons, and life in general. If you're visiting Stehekin, do NOT miss this spot. The Garden is not just a farm it can be an experience, a pause in time, a little corner of the world that reminds you of what truly matters!!!
