Fantastic pizza, beer and breakfast food! So nice to have a great place to go after cross country skiing.

Decided to stop in here for some pizza from the outside. It doesn't look like much once a week went inside. It had great decor, and the staff was very friendly. The place was very clean and was a breeze to order pizza. We went with the small supreme. It was enough for the two of us. It came out hot and you can tell everything was fresh. If you're in the area give them a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

It seems to me Jack's hut has been unfairly maligned in previous reviews. It does have a great location at the Freestone Inn right off the ski trail. The staff is friendly and they have a bar, snacks and sandwiches. They have several tables and a couch with a couple of TV's to while away the time. I was there most recently during Super Bowl weekend, and with no cable at the cabin, Jacks was the place to go for the big game. As for the policy about no outside food, it's common in the Methow, and other outdoor recreation areas. This is a place of business and they aren't in the business of providing free tables in a heated building if you're not going to buy anything. Spend a little money and help them stay in business. I had a fine time at Jack's with about a dozen new friends for the Super bowl. It was just cold beer and nachos but that seemed about right at the time. read more

Jack's Hut has always been a great stop for us for YEARS, for a quick warm up beer off the ski trail... in the past 2 years? they recently gone through some major upgrades. (while I'll miss the winter clothing deals we used to find here) I am happy to say the Pizza/pool table/ cafe vibe is working out great and is a better use of space! Jacks has bar seating, large table benches for groups and a few smaller tables, tv and pool table. Pizzas are pretty tasty! The greek and the meat pizzas are really good, decent WA beers are on tap, served by nice staff! Very impressed on our last visit, even though busy, the service was great, waters refilled, and checked on. Jacks has a good thing going here and we can't wait to visit again! read more

This is a hidden gem you should definitely visit in Mazama! The place has it all. Pizza's, salads, deserts, more. We usually ski to the place and eat pizza here. There's a lot of good choices. I would recommend the Meat Pie or the Supreme. The hours are a bit funky so it's a good idea to check if it's open before you come there. read more

In this year's summer heat of 105 in July/August I stopped in for some very cool air conditioning and had a 14" meat lovers pizza and an Alaskan Amber. Great service, great pizza, great beer. read more

The location is good, you can ski off from the front door, the food is okay, the staff there was friendly, but I can only give them one star because they have a terrible management policy. We were there at the low season (only one person was staying at the Inn) right before the crowd would arrive so the place only had two other people there. One party in our group was on a very restricted diet and there was nothing she could eat. She brought some food that she could eat but because of the policy that forbids eating any food not purchased there inside the hut, she was told to go out to the freezing cold and eat there. For all my 7 years of cross country skiing in multiple locations in the U.S. and Canada, I have never encountered any food establishment at the trail stop to have this unreasonable policy and one without any flexibility. This is not a way to increase restaurant sales! Besides, this is a very remote town (population 80), everyone is coming from quite a distance and would most likely eat the food offered there. One may also bring an apple and/or an orange and trail snacks to eat along with purchased food, what on earth is the management thinking! BTW, the same owner also owns Freestone Inn across the parking lot. There was no relief there either. read more

My husband and I have been coming to the freestone for years and we have seen the way Jacks Hut has evolved. It went from somewhat unimpressive to new big TVs, a pool table, great service by the woman who works days there, and fresh pizza which is delicious! They've stepped it up big time! Of course the Freestone is our favorite place to stay and now Jacks Hut is up to speed and highly recommended! And did I mention the hot fresh pizza? Omg. read more

Jack's Hut is across the parking lot from the Freestone Inn. It's a lodge style building with booths and tables and a pool table and games in the back room. My husband and I had the veggie pizza but substituted sun dried tomatoes for mushrooms. The crust was thin and crispy with a slightly spicy sauce. Yum! They have a decent selection of beers on tap. Our server, Brandi, was very friendly. Our pizza came out quickly and she kept our beer glasses full. When we moved to the back room she helped us move our stuff. read more

This is a great place to stop in the middle of a ski or bike. Good pizza and salad --- better than one would expect in the location.

The mountain bike rentals are terrible. The chains are rusty. The derailer shifts by itself continuously. Dave, the guy who fits the bikes does not know what he's doing. I had to press him to put some air in the front tire of my bike. He would not put any air in the rear tire. I returned the bikes after about 20 minutes. The good news was, they did not charge me for the rental. read more

Had a very nice dinner of pizza and salad. My salad was a variation on Greek salad with fresh spinach. Pizzas were tasty with crisp crust and come in 8" personal size. They have a full bar too. Service was friendly and you can't beat the setting. I wish they didn't have the TVs on but that's a small complaint. read more
