So overall they did a really poor job. But the cherry on top was my interaction with the owner. The crew left on what was supposed to be the last day with the stairs unfinished (which was part of the quote). They wanted payment, but I refused to pay until the job was complete as stated in their contract. That evening the owner of the company called me with his family in the car actually screaming at me, cussing me out for not paying. I didn't back down, and refused to pay until the job was complete. The next day he sent out someone to finish the stairs, I paid, and swore to never use this company again. I advise you to avoid as well. read more

After several estimates and discussions left us a bit confused, we decided to contact Metro Atl/Joel. He was very easy to get ahold of, very responsive and respectful. He provided us with a quote very quickly, is reasonably priced, got started on the project right away, kept us updated daily (with photos), and delivered it very quickly. Several law suits against this guy. I am still angry with Joel Negron and his teams about the botched job they did on our floors. They were recommended by lumber liquidators in 2012. They took out our old floors but did not scrape off the glue. When they laid the new floors, the workers said it was too hard to do a picture frame around the fireplace Hearth was agreed upon in the initial visit. The wood on the floor is different heights so furniture gets caught on it and feels like waking on a broken sidewalk. There are gaps in the boards that are 1/8-1/4 inches wide, they should be tight. They also stained our staircase. They did not strip it and they wanted to spray varnish in my house over wet stain. He did give us our money back on that but refused to make our floors right. We Sued him and we won. He would not follow the courts instruction to give us the 12,000 dollars. Instead he changed the name of the company, so that when we garnished him, the company no longer existed. When we asked for a list of assets, he said the company closed, he just started under a different name. I know this is some time ago but this guy is still in business and you should all know what he is capable of. read more

Joel and his team were fantastic! I bought my first house, and it needed lots of TLC. The white oak floors were in terrible shape - stained and deeply scratched. We had several people over for refinishing estimates, and Joel struck me as the most forthright of the group. He answered all of my questions and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. He was able to start work just a few days later! Best of all, he recommended a far lighter stain than I would have picked, and it made a huge difference! The whole house is brighter as a result! I needed to have approximately 600 sf of engineered flooring installed and have the carpeting removed. After asking for bids on thumbtack, Joel Negron, the owner of the company offered a competitive price and I called him. Joel responded quickly to my initial call and was very professional and transparent about what the price would be: no hidden extras, no charge for removing the carpet or moving some of the larger pieces of furniture. He has another company that does installs for a large flooring retailer, and this company does installations privately and I think they also sell flooring. My only concern was that the crew was almost 2 hrs late getting to my house, but it was a horribly rainy day and they had stopped to get supplies. A call to Joel and he assured me they were on their way. The crew worked diligently all day, did a great job installing my engineered wood floors, which they said were a little trickier than most. They cleaned up both inside and outside even though it was nearly 10pm in the pouring rain when they left. Joel called this morning to make sure I was happy with the work: I'm very happy. read more

We decided to replace our flooring with luxury vinyl after considering all the options available today. I have a hard time making decisions, so we got 3 other in-home quotes for both vinyl planks and engineered hardwoods. I made the mistake of telling all companies the square footage given to me by the first measurement. When Alan came in to quote me, he told me the measurements were way off and the square footage I needed was much less than the 3 other companies had stated I needed, even though they all took their own measurements. They had raised the amount needed because I told them the measurements beforehand. This is not the only reason I chose Metro. I felt like Alan was very professional and gave me a lot of information without pushing a sale. I put off scheduling with the other companies. I didn't know it was possible to feel 100% sure about such a large decision until I contacted Metro. My fiancé and I were at working when our luxury vinyl floors were installed, and I received updates throughout the day with pictures. This may not be typical, but I was in constant contact beforehand to make sure all went well. Floors turned out to be beautiful, and I was told that if there are any issues at all, they will come out right away to fix it. Great, honest, and affordable company! read more

Working as a Realtor I come in contact with many contractors. Few of them are as honorable and trustworthy as Joel Negron and I have no hesitation referring him to clients and friends. I had him install some new hardwood floors that turned out looking excellent. I was concerned with the floors not matching the color of my existing hardwoods, but I was assured they'd look good. Prior to hiring Metro ATL floors for the job, I got multiple quotes ranging from 2k-10k for the same job. I found it pretty disgraceful what some people charge for a hardwood floors. Metro Atl floors was very reasonably priced on the lower end of the spectrum and none of the competitive companies held the hardwood floor installation credentials and designations that Joel did. read more

They also use the bait and switch for timelines - start your project, move the crew to another starting project, then "save the day" when you complain, a week later. Your feedback was very useful with the exception that the one person never got a quote, I find that totally hard to believe. That would have been a total waste of the companies time!! We had several estimates and people into our home as we are going to replace flooring in the entire home. Alan King was very competitive in pricing, friendly, professional, and immediately sat down and worked out quotes for us. We received our final quote from another company today. Every company except Metro Atlanta Floors "contract" the job out to others. Alan explained that they do their "OWN" work and know their installers well. I hired Metro Atlanta Floors to remove and replace all of the flooring in a rental property that I own in Woodstock, Georgia. Price was fair. Quality of work was poor. I was advised that the installers would be at the home between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. They did not show up until 1:30 p.m. I was not contacted regarding the delay. When I attempted to contact the salesperson whom I had been dealing with regarding the delay, my calls were ignored. When I attempted to contact their office regarding the delay, my calls were ignored. I was advised that the work would be completed in 1 day. The installers worked until 1:00 a.m. and finally decided that they would have to come back the next day. Keep in mind that this is not a large home. The flooring job was for carpet in 3 bedrooms, hallway, closets, and bonus room and vinyl in the kitchen, laundry room, and 2 bathrooms. By 3:00 p.m. the next day, no one had shown up or contacted me. Rather than attempting to contact the salesperson or their office, since my previous calls had been ignored, I contacted the installer directly. I had to raise he** with him just to get him to go back and finish what they should have finished the day before. I then found that the installers did not even work for Metro Atlanta Floors but are subcontractors that Metro Atlanta Floors hires to install flooring that they sell. After the work was supposedly completed, there were multiple pieces of shoe molding that had not been installed. The kitchen vinyl flooring now has a noticeable ridge in the flooring where the kitchen meets the living room that was not present with the old flooring. The appliances were not put back where they belong or reconnected. The vinyl flooring in the master bathroom was poorly cut and not secured on some of the edges allowing me to see that instead of removing all of the old flooring in the master bathroom, the new vinyl flooring was laid on top of the old flooring. The toilet was supposed to be reset but was left loose on the right side. Fortunately, I had someone else working on the home performing painting and drywall work that I had to have complete the flooring work that I paid Metro Atlanta Floors to perform so my tenant could move in on schedule. I own rental properties in the metro Atlanta area and occasionally have a need to hire flooring contractors. Due to the poor quality of work, poor communication, lack of respect for my time, and overall fiasco that this turned into, I will NEVER hire Metro Atlanta Floors in the future. read more

They were friendly, came to my house, measured my floors, but never (despite repeated follow-ups) actually provided a quote.

First, I'll say that the floors look excellent. The crew was professional, did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. The owner was pleasant and contacted me when I had concerns about the communication from the salesperson. However, the communication from the salesperson was poor. He said the job would take two days and it took four, they took a day off in the middle of the week with notice given the day of. He assured me on three separate occasions they would be done by Thursday, and they of course were not. The crew broke our toilet, no one ever confirmed what the plan was to replace the lid, on the second day the plumber showed up and said he's replacing the toilet, again no communication. When I talked to the salesperson about my concerns he was very callous and condescending, saying if I had told you we weren't going to be done on time what would it have changed and all of this back and forth has to stop, meanwhile my house was covered in dust for the entire weekend since he failed to schedule the work properly. read more

The absolute worst experience of my life. Joel and his crew were the subcontractor I used through Lumber Liquidators. The first crew put in a filler over my tile - in the process made my floors un-level, hence the floors never joined up properly. Joel finally agreed to re-level and re-lay the floors but his crew never showed up for the job, as agreed!! Then Joel was extremely rude and refused to expeditiously correct his mistakes. His crew pulled out my floors and baseboards and left me on bare concrete - going on 5 days now. In addition, left a mess in my house, yard, and garage. There is a stack of baseboards with nails in them in my garage waiting for someone to get hurt. The absolute worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. read more

So Joel and his team installed floor in our house in 2012 when they owned a different company and worked with Lumber Liquidators, they did not install the product correctly and we have had nothing but problems since, he kept putting off fixing the floors with bull crap excuses and then that company went bankrupt and out of business, needless to say to this day we have crapy floors and have gone through the flooring manufacturer and Lumber Liquidators to try and fix the floor and even had it inspected. Those results came back with install being the problem. I would not trust this guy to do any work because he does not stand behind his work. If he did then he wouldn't need to open a new company or have multiple ones under different names. Needless to say we are pursuing legal action. read more

After speaking to four different companies and getting four quotes I decided to go with Metro to install hardwoods in three bedrooms and do a custom staircase. I was very specific about certain parts of the installation that I wanted done including a request to have all shoe mould as single runs without a split. We scheduled a day to start which was on a Wednesday. The crew showed up on the first day and finished installing floors by Friday. During this whole time I did not hear from anyone at the company. I called the rep on Friday morning to get a better idea of a schedule. I asked him to let me know when they would be back to work so I could make plans. He did not call back. On Saturday, one of the installers showed up unannounced to work. On Sunday I walked the job and found six areas where there was a split in the shoe mould. On Sunday I emailed the rep to let him know about the shoe mould and also to ask about the schedule for finishing the job. On Monday morning he responded and apologized that the installer showed up unannounced on Saturday. On Monday morning a crew showed up to move the furniture back but it was not the same crew that moved it out of the rooms and was unable to do the work. I texted the rep and got a response that was not very friendly, essentially telling me to be patient because he was dealing with 10,000 things. He said that he would get back to me. I texted again to ask about moving the furniture back, reinstalling the closet doors and trimming the door to the master bedroom. I got a text that someone would be out Tuesday morning to put everything back and fix the shoe mould. He also said that the painter would be out Wednesday morning. On Tuesday a crew showed up to move all furniture back but did not fix the shoe mould. He texted me to say that everything would be done by noon the following day, including all trim and paint. On Thursday the rep sent an email asking if everything was 100% and when could he pick up a check for payment of the job. I emailed back asking if that meant that we was not going to fix the shoe mould. His response "My apology I seem to be the only one looking stupid here because no one tells me anything. I'm now being told that Ed will come by there tomorrow to fix that situation. I'm more than embarrassed." The rep said that he would send someone to fix the shoe mould on Friday. I said that Friday was not an option. He said that Edward would come Saturday to fix it. On Friday, he texted and said that he did not have anyone to fix the shoe mould on Saturday as they were all doing family. He asked me to leave a partial check for him and the remainder to be paid after the rest was fixed. I said that I would leave a check for the full amount when the job was finished. On Monday he texted and said that Edward would be out Wednesday morning to fix the remaining shoe mould. He showed up to finish the job at 2:10 pm. What started out as a good decision on my part to have Metro do the installation has turned into a questionable decision primarily based on their poor communication and lack of common courtesy. They never called me during the job to update me or to let me know when they would be back. They never called to make sure that I would be there to let them in and be available as needed. They never asked if I could be available, just assumed that I would work around their schedule every time. They never called back to ask if I had any questions or concerns. When I did ask, the response I got back made was unfriendly at best. Overall quality of the work was good but I would have a hard time recommending Metro based on their poor communication and lack of follow-up and consideration for the customer. read more
