"Fantastic Service, as Usual." We've been customers of Metro PCS for many years. We have three lines with the company, and am very happy with the service we have received. Whenever I have questions of any kind, they are quite helpful. They are very patient with me, and hardly ever make fun of me. They did not laugh too hard when when I brought in my five year old phone to upgrade. Today, I had some technical questions on the use of my new A21 Samsung Galaxy phone. For example, I did not know how to stop the phone from dimming whenever I made a call. The answer was so simple, I felt silly. There is a sensor on the phone, and when you hold it near your head, the dimming stops. It's a pleasure to patronize this store. Honestly, I don't know how you could do any better. When I went in, five separate employees jumped up to help me. This is absolutely true--I am not making this up. They were not trying to pressure me to buy anything--they just wanted to help. That's what I call great service The nice people answered my questions quite readily. Next time, I will come up with tougher questions to try to stump them. read more

On July 31 I went in store to buy a phone with a friend. No one could answer any questions about the phones. I got a moto it seemed like a good phone for a budget. The sales man than asked, if I wanted to sell my old phone to him!? My friend & I were both confused. I said no. I bought a case , & screen protector. I was dizzy so I sat down. He put the screen protector on, & put the phone back in the box. I discovered when I got home the screen protector didn't fit. I went back to the store on 8/4. Nobody came, the signage & website both said open. Other customers were there also. I have ms & I'm immune compromised I took two buses & waited 3 hours. Nobody came & I ended up getting very sick. I tried to reach out for help. The response, somtimes they are not open certain days. Thats it, no sorry or we can replace your screen protector. Very frustrating, I still have the screen protector that doesn't fit. I can't afford to go out & buy a new one, & due to my ms, I at times lose feeling in my hands & drop things. I'm now out money, & don't have a proper screen protector/case. I was sick w/ the cold/flu not sure which. I just didn't feel well, & didn't want to chance getting someone else sick. SCAMMERS! I bought a new iPhone and activated on a new plan with the promise of a $300 rebate. One of the requirements to receive the rebate was to keep the line active for at least 3 months on a certain plan. 3 months go by, no rebate, and now I get the run around when I go in store or speak with anyone over the phone. At first, there was supposedly no rebate program. And now I am told that the rebate was only for the $40 per month plan and not the $60 per month plan that I was told to sign up for. I'm not sure who benefited from scamming me, but I truly feel it was the salesperson in store. I am very disappointed as we have been loyal customers to this company. Do not recommend. read more

The best Metro PCS store I've ever been to! I unfortunately broke my phone on Presidents' Day and none of the authorized dealer stores were open; however this corporate store was! It was a bit farther to drive to but it was nice that they were open. Samantha helped me and she was great! Very informative about my switch from android to iPhone and switching all my contacts over and such. They have a great team here :) definitely pay the extra money to buy a screen protector here because they do an AMAZING job putting it on with zero air bubbles on the screen. As long-time customers of Metro PCS, in November we had to upgrade our phones because our current phones were having problems with the changes made to the T-Mobile network. We upgraded both of our Samsung J7 Stars to Moto G Stylus 5G, after reading many good reviews on this model. In the first week we were intermittently unable to make or receive calls or texts, so we went in to the store and they tweaked some settings and sent us on our way. We continued to have the same problems, so after a couple more visits they agreed to do a warranty swap, so basically we got 2 used phones for the price of the 2 new phones we purchased (same model). The same issues persisted, and during several visits over the next several weeks several reps tried to help us but were never able to solve the problem. FINALLY, in February, we went back again, and we were helped by Efren Sanchez Lopez. My plan was to confirm that there was nothing we could do as far as returning the phones for credit and switching to another model, before giving up, taking the hit and going to another carrier and purchasing two more new phones. Efren spent at least 2 hours with us troubleshooting back and forth, and working over the phone with Tech to come up with a solution. He was extremely patient and resourceful and never gave up. In the end, he was able to come up with a solution. That was a few weeks ago, and we have had a much better experience with our Metro phones ever since. So the takeaways for you, dear reader, are: 1) If you live in the valley, there may be some models of Metro phones that do not work well with their network. I would definitely stay away from the Moto G Stylus 5G; 2) In the many times we have had to go in to the Metro PCS Dublin store to resolve issues, every one of the reps have been very professional and helpful and pleasant; and 3) Efren really stood out with his amazing customer service skills - he went above and beyond to find a solution, and I hope his supervisor knows how awesome he is. Needed a nano sim adapter to micro sim, and in a little rush. RYU (unsure if I spelled it right) was so accommodating and gave me his adapter for free. What an awesome guy. Also needed a pen and a paper coz I lost my friend who needed the sim adapter, and there's no way to be able to get a hold of him except the old school way of leaving notes and letters on his car. I've come here a fair amount of times (buy the phone, buy phone accessories, and to ask for help with phone issues etc) Every time I paid a visit to this place, a nice man named Taej would gladly answer my questions: "Why does my phone battery die so quick?!" "What phone would you suggest for a person like me?" "What phone are people getting??" "What's wrong with my camera?!?!!??" "WHY ARE MY CALLS CONSTANTLY DROPPING?!?!?!!" **interesting answer I'd like to share btw for that question, recently Taej has told me that reception has had an inconsistent performance due to them changing from a 3G to a 4G network.... can't be mad at that :) but yes, my list of naggy questions go on and on and on and onn... zZzzZzz.... I enjoy that he willingly and helpfully answers my questions, rather than brushing it all off. Slow service. Ive had metro for a year and I lost my phone recently. I forgot it on a plane unfortunately...the person there didnt want to help me at all! He was very lazy, I left annoyed. I'm not gonna name names but he knows who he is. If he was haviong a bad day I can understand but I was in there needing help and got none. Im gonna switch to sprint....adding a line onto my dads account for $20. If you can add onto someones line do it, metro is just annoying. They just lost my account.. OH WELL. Thanks for not helping me I must note that not everyone there is lazy, some are quite nice. Perhaps MetroPCS the company should discipline them, or at least discuss this experience as a learning opportunity? Angie told me 1) she did not know why the old SIM card was working, and 2) that I needed to buy a new nano-SIM card AND activate it in the store ($26 charge with tax). Amanda said that I would need to buy a new nano-SIM card, because each SIM is irrevocably tied to a specific phone -- new phone, new SIM. For reference, this interaction occurred on Saturday, 5 December 2015 at ~430-500 PM PST. By contrast, Irving and Angela, CSRs at the MetroPCS authorized retailer (http://www.yelp.com/biz/metro-pcs-livermore-2) were amazing. MetroPCS should do everything in their power to hire and retain people like them, and if they do not, employees like Angela and Irving should go to better places. Irving was extremely helpful and honest with me. Service here sucks! All the metro pcs stores are either ghetto, crowded or employed w/ robotic high school drop out employees. The floor mgr, Taej in Dublin sits all day yawning barely blinks and does nothg other than skip off to lunch. Chris, asst. Store mgr is not sure what his job title consist of...he's despicable! The warranties on the phone come with a copay don't be fooled this is not technically a warranty they have insurance which does not cover your battery. All the employees know how to do is quote the metro policy and can not answer any questions that is not scripted. Question?: is metro pcs worth doing business w/ if they lack so terribly in service? Over price their phones, late w/phone models and options, horrible customer, limited area coverage, and unlimited amount of dropped calls???? I challenge you to dump this carrier they suck! Totally deceptive business practices. Activated a couple phones and a tablet they had on special was told it would be 90 for the phones and 10 for the tablet - I was like ok cool. I confirmed with Tareque that I didn't want insurance. Then he gives me the total and tells me I'll get $50 back in a week because of the tablet- I'm was like great. When I get home I look closely at the receipt and what do you know there's a "service payment" for $55 per phone not the $45 I was quoted. I create my account online and lo and behold it's insurance he added on my account even though I said I didn't want it. Then I look at the cost of the tablet plan and it's 50% more than Tareque quoted. I'm gonna wait a week for the $50 "credit" to show miraculously show up- but I think at this point I was scammed... this is pretty horrible business practices and they should just come out with more transparent business practices and charges. I did call their customer service after Tareque was at lunch and they were apologetic for these practices. Talk all you want and all I have to pay a month with taxes is $43.66.... Metro has drastically improved over the years. I don't even know how long I have had a metro, and I don't even care. No surprise in my bill. I can pay online. When you need a new phone just buy a new phone and change your number and get a free month. They have a current promotion going on; four phones unlimited calls unlimted text messages and voicemail for $100 a month... That is around $30 a phone when the taxes are done being computed.... I commute and my phone drops only in Castro Valley at Strobridge exit. It does not cut off on the altamont.... I give half a star because when I bought a new phone, I changed my mind and wanted to upgrade to a better phone and had to go through corporate and it took a long time to get someone to understand what was going on. But I got a credit and an upgrade... It was all about lack of knowledgable CSR~ I ended up getting a free month last month tooo.... I don't know why and I was not about to ask why... did'nt get a text about my monthly bill and my due date passed to the next month..... Just figured it is because I have had a metro for a few years consistantly. They are upgrading on there phones too..... read more

Went to pay my bill yesterday the GPS on Google maps had it in the wrong place so I called the store, I believe Angie picked up and helped me out in a awesome customer service fashion. As I arrived Angie helped me out with my questions and product knowledge AND put the screen protection on with detail and care. I would say that's the best treatment I have ever had from metro PCS at any store I been to in the bay area. Buyer beware for deceptive business practices at this Dublin location that go way beyond mere up-selling. I came in to port some numbers over from ATT on a 4 for 100 special deal they had going on and which a few friends have taken advantage of. Everyone I knew who used a different store got the plan for $100 out the door all included, but here the employee added a 25% "Activation Fee" I questioned the 25% additional charge, he called it an Activation fee, and said it wouldn't be on the bill ongoing, which was strange because I knew this not to be typical from others experiences at other stores. I asked (politely) if they could take off the fee because I knew from others that the cost should be a flat $100 out the door. I had a bad feeling about this charge and left the store to verify with another corporate store to see if this fee was legitimate. The Pleasant Hill MetroPCS corporate store confirmed there should be no activation fee and the cost is $100 out the door for the four lines with phones. After returning to the store to find out why this store is different, the employee admitted they were adding phone insurance and calling it an activation fee. I asked why they don't just call it insurance not a required activation fee and he said the management requires them to call it activation. While having a heated discussion with this employee about how phone customers can reasonably expect an activation fee to be in actuality just optional insurance I finally asked to speak to the manager and found that she was hiding behind a computer just an arms length away, not with another customer, and not chiming in to ask if there was anything she could help with as would be expected because she heard my heated conversation with the employee. It seemed the manager was clearly crouching in the shadows hoping that I would just leave and let them get back to taking advantage of the other marks, er, customers they had in the store. She defended her employee saying he never called it a "setup" fee but the manager utterly failed to convey how she could justify billing phone insurance a required activation fee. She also never volunteered to let me opt out of the insurance (which makes little sense for them to require since its not a phone on contract the phones would be owned by me outright, and I should be free to carelessly flush it down the toilet at my own discretion, its a free country is it not?). I also have my doubts that this "fee" (what everyday laypersons would more reasonably view in actuality as phone insurance/commission/store kickbacks) would magically fall away after the first month like the employee claimed, certainly not without me calling to find out why I would have a continuous recurring "activation fee" adding 25% to my bill every month. Very shady! Use any other store than this one for your business if you value honest business practices and your hard earned dollar. The corruption is from the top down. While having pushy up-sells to add on unnecessary options would be perhaps forgivable, denying that these fees are actually optional even after confronting them, and also trying to pass phone insurance as a one time "activation" goes way over the line of fair practices. If I could leave negative stars I would. Certainly for the love of all you hold sacred don't send your grandparents to this Dublin location to get fleeced, at least not without their attorney present to triple check the fine print. read more

There should be negative ratings, one star is too nice. Liars, and cheats, their 7 day return is a lie. I decided to sign up for my family last night and from the start I had issues. The employees have no clue about their products and services from newest to the manager. They told me 7 day guarantee and all lies today I couldn't make calls, lost a full day of work because of metro. Then when I went back to the store to get refunded because I had enough in under 24 hrs, they don't want to give me my full refund. The two managers didn't even know how to do the half of the refund. A follow up letter to Metro Corporate will be made. Called the store at 417pm was placed on hold and was disconnected. Called back at 419pm spoke to a gentleman about the Moto gen phone. Called back at 507pm in regards to the SE and 6s iPhone for 149. I explained my mother had cracked her phone and was on my way. He said the phone would be here. Upon arrival there were 3 male employees and one female hispanic with an attitude I assume is the manager based on the chip on her shoulder. They did not greet us or even acknowledge our presence. They seemed so focused on on a banner being placed and how if metro wanted it perfect they could come in and do it themselves. Lovely staff I must say. When I finally asked they acted like the conversation had never occurred however I have the phone log. In the future let's not waste the customers time and don't shine them off and be rude. In late December 2018, we ported over 3 lines and established a brand new line on the $100 for 4, unlimited, promotional plan. We also purchased 4 brand new Moto E5 Plus smartphones (effectively $35 each after sales tax/activation fees, 6" screen & 36-hour battery life). After one month, the smartphones work great and we have had no coverage issues, so far in Lake Tahoe and Baja California (added 2 North American calling plans for the phones being used in Mexico = $5/MO each) Unfortunately leading up to the buying decision there were a couple of miscommunications regarding the network usage in Mexico and a misunderstanding of some of the phones features like Visual Voicemail and 6-month locked restriction period. Philip one of the store managers in Dublin (Alex is the other, both excellent), professionally understood our issues and adequately resolved them with startup credits acknowledging some Metro by T-Mobile responsibilities for our inconveniences and "surprise" minor added charges moving forward. Bottom Line: By eliminating our landline primarily for home security monitoring and a price gouging Century Link plan we could renegotiate with Xfinity for a new 24-month triple bundle rate. Collectively we save $1,300 per year while boosting our internet from 70Mbps to 200Mbps, enhancing our home security system with touchscreen controls/ smartphone alerts and adding a brand new smartphone for a previous non-user......a very good financial and telecom services upgrade transaction! All Metro by T-Mobile employees were extremely nice and focused on delivering very good customer service. There is room to improve the point of sales systems (support operations, not store personnel) and better communicate plan features/restrictions (like costs of "value bundles") read more

MetroPCS engages in false advertising on their website by stating you will receive an "instant rebate" when you purchase a new phone in store. This store will not sell the phone to you without requiring an upgrade fee and activation fee. The website says nothing about all the extra fees. I bought my phone here about three years ago. Since that time I've stopped in to ask questions or to have problems solved. The staff at this store is so knowledgeable and kind. Always helpful.
