I reassured him that would take care of the X-rays at the next appointment so he wouldn't need to worry about them. I also communicated this clearly to the hygenist. Despite that, she responded that X-rays were required that day and then told my son, "Sorry your mom told you that we weren't going to do X-rays today, but we actually are." This caused him to panic, and their attempts to calm him only escalated the situation. Their approach felt unnecessarily forceful and lacked sensitivity. After the cleaning, we waited approximately an hour for the doctor to come speak with us. Ultimately, we had to inform the staff that we could not wait any longer and left. We never recieved a follow-up call or any acknowledgement or apology for the excessive wait time. As a result of this experience, I cancelled all further appointments and transferred my child to a different dental provider. Three months later, I received a text message thanking me for booking a cleaning - an appointment I never scheduled. When I called to inquire, I was told that they automatically rebook all patients. I asked what would happens if I hadn't shown up, and I was informed that I would have been billed a no-show fee for an appointment that I did not authorize. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. I found the practice to be unprofessional, poorly managed, and lacking in basic communication and respect for its patients.

It was the same tooth Dr. Mitch was concerned about I told her. She still refused to ask him if we could be fit in. She had the deer in the headlights stare. Hello? Any one home?! Horrible customer service and person.. We will be going to a different clinic from now on.

The clinic has two dentists, four hygienists, and a couple front desk staff. The office is located in an office park building in Maple Grove. The waiting room is so welcoming. It's tastefully decorated for kids. Cartoons on the TV, free Pac-Man arcade game, lots of books, and magazine for the adults. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The exam space is great, too. It's an open-air concept with benches and art for privacy rather than walls or exam rooms. My favorite part of our visit was the staff. As someone who despises trips to the dentist myself, I have put off my son's first visit for years. At 4.5, I worried that he would be scared and non-compliant. But our hygienist made him feel very comfortable. I appreciated that she showed him the chair and let him try each of the tools before using them. The cleaning was very gentle. She took breaks as often as he asked. After he picked out a prize and got a sticker for being cavity-free, we saw the dentist (Dr. Borodkin). She reviewed his chart and took the time to review his X-rays in detail. I was worried that she would scold me for waiting so long to bring him in. Not at all! She was informative and supportive, not judgmental. We left with a 'swag' bag - toothbrush, paste, a water bottle, a really nifty flosser, and a save the date for our next appointment. We will DEFINITELY be going back.

As an adult with dentist anxiety, I had MUCH delayed taking my kids and both had cavities... what I had dreaded (and expected). However, the way the staff and Dr. Venetia helped make them feel comfortable and calm (and informed about what's happening every step of the way) was nothing short of miraculous. No tears. No pain. No fear... for the kids or for me! :) I'm SO impressed with their approach, kindness and knowledge about kids and their teeth. Thank GOODNESS I found this clinic.

This place has no ability to handle a child who is scared. They are pushy and have no feedback to help in that type of situation. They will just give up and tell you to come back later. The workers have a very short fuse for these kids and are very rude and when your child leaves they will feel defeated like they are somehow bad. They want to get people in and out as fast as possible with no deviations from THEIR schedule regardless of the situation. I understand that people have appointments but if you claim to be able to handle kids you should have protocols and plan ahead and allow more time for the appointment when you know the child is scared coming into the appointment as they have met him and worked on him previously. Since we have 0 services rendered we will be attempting to not pay for any of this along with the LOAN we took out with their lender to get the work started. Honestly, if you are claiming to be a place for kids then freaking act like it. Not all kids are the same. We are so upset right now and will never return here and do everything in our power to help others avoid this place like the plague. P.S. Think about changing the name of your business.

The office called and put up a fuss about our insurance, then a week later I got a call saying they canceled my daughter's appointment because they didn't like her insurance. They called and canceled only 4 days before her appointment. Imagining discriminating against a 5 year old, and denying her dental care simply because her insurance changed. We still had a valid insurance, they just care more about profits over people. Obviously, client loyalty means nothing to them. I would never recommend this dentistry to anyone and will be letting all the moms in my friend circles and beyond know about our terrible experience.

Great Experiences! We have been seeing Dr. Sakhi for 5 years now. My son has a rare genetic…read moredisorder and Dr. Sakhi was the first dentist he allowed to look inside his mouth and clean his teeth. Since he struggles with severe anxiety, he has to be sedated for cavity procedures. This was the second procedure he needed to have and doing it in the office was preferred all around for ease, timeliness and cost. The entire staff was professional, demonstrated compassion, kindness, and encouragement. The anesthesiologists from Dream were superior. Everyone communicated the process and after care thoroughly with follow up calls and texts to ensure he was well. On a side note, as I read the other reviews, especially the negative ones, I struggle to accept their opinion of this dental office. This dental office is out of network for us and possibly for a lot of people which will lead to higher prices. And you know your child best and need to be advocate for them, so if Dr. Sakhi's practice isn't the right fit for your family, that's okay. However, we believe our son receives the best care for his type of disability and I believe Dr. Sakhi can pride herself on taking care of children like my son who cannot and will not have care in a "regular" dental office. At one time, when Dr. Sakhi didn't think she could help us, she referred us out, this is not poor care but rather the opposite, it's caring enough about your patient to ensure they get the best possible care. And when we needed to postpone his procedure due to insurance issues, they worked with us and continued to monitor my son's dental health. They didn't pressure us, they waited until we were ready and for that I am grateful. Thank you Tooth and Co!

Preferably someone who doesn't run their practice like a shady car dealer trying to upsell you on accessories you don't need. We had been referred here by our dentist because our 3 year old daughter needed a small filling in her baby tooth. First off, I was told that at least two appointments would be required - one for our child to be examined and then a second appointment for the filling. For a simple filling, mind you. At the first appointment they basically confirmed what we already knew - our daughter had a small cavity in a baby tooth. Then it got interesting. We were told that she would need to be administered a general anesthetic and put under for a few hours while the doctor worked. This was supposedly to eliminate the possibility that the child might react negatively, i.e. cry, whine, etc. and thereby prolong the procedure. Doctor knows best, right?! I suspect the doctor has figured out that by scaring young parents with stories of teeth gone bad she can charge exorbitant fees for anesthesia, surgery prep, and other unnecessary treatments. Suffice it say that we balked at putting our 3 year old daughter under a general anesthetic for several thousands of dollars and possibly risking serious health consequences. After a few phone calls, we found another dentist who filled the BABY TOOTH cavity for a little over $100 and without any anesthetic whatsoever. Just a little calm talking and joking around for a few minutes to make her comfortable.

The dentist graduated June '2022, license issued July '2022 by the Board of Dentistry. In the bio, "seasoned general dentist". To be considered seasoned, an individual has worked in a position for many years and encountered a host of different situations and resolutions to gain the experience necessary to be considered seasoned. Also in the bio, "served as managing doctor role at one of the top dental service organizations". Why not name that organization? From the internet, this dentist worked at Sandpiper Dental in Brooklyn Park from July '2022 to July '2023 when it was closed by EDP of Minnesota P.C., a management and operator of dental clinics in various communities. A closing of this nature likely was for financial reasons. Posted reviews: Jan 6, 2023 My experience is very similar to Julie J. I was a patient here for 25 years and they were great. The new owners came in and told me they were in my insurance network, which was a lie. I wound up with a big bill. Don't go here. Nov 30, 2022 ing time that they did not accept Delta Dental. We had to pay full cleaning price out of pocket. We have had the same insurance the entire time. They quit answering my calls and never called back when I left messages. They have lost the business of my entire family. Feb 14, 2023 My family and I had been going to Sandpiper for many years. Everything was friendly, ran smoothly, very professional up until Dr Dave retired. Now with a new dentist and staff, I would HIGHLY recommend that you don't go anywhere near this place with a 50-foot-pole. After getting a surprise bill from them for a cleaning (surprise, they didn't tell me until after that they didn't get the new dentist credentialed with the same insurance I had been using with Sandpiper for years!) and having to pay the copay that was quoted to me before the procedure for a filling and then getting another surprise bill for all but $6 of the remaining balance they claimed insurance would pay! We just can't trust Sandpiper any longer. When you quote one price, have me pay it, perform the procedure and then send me a surprise bill months later because you can't get your credentials straight with the insurance, sorry, that's your problem. Don't being scammed by this place. Entire family will now be looking for a trustworthy dentist. From July '2023 till the end of the year, there doesn't appear to be an employment history. In '2024 until Arturo Dental opened, employment was at a couple Metro Dental locations in the Metro area. Reviews are posted at Metro Dental. Uncertain as to why Dr. Uche Umerah doesn't use full first name "Uchenna" There just seems to be a lack of transparency with enhanced job experience.
