I used Metro Loading service five times in the last 2 months. Every time I was very pleased with their service. They were very professional, courteous, arrived on time and they can really pack an incredible amount into any trailer. All my furniture arrived in another state in fine shape. Nothing was broken. They packed all told over 20,000 pounds ( I used UPack for my trailers and they gave me the trailer weight.) Metro loading even met me a storage unit 20 miles from my house - unloaded the storage unit into a Uhaul then met us at our house and unloaded the Uhaul . I used 2 different loading services in the state I moved to and Metro Service was better and more professional than either of them and cost the same or less. They work very fast ( which saves money). Wow, Metro Loading Service is the best. Moving has never been on the top of my favorite things-to-do list, but John and Claudio made it simple and, dare I say fun. Avoid at all cost!!! I never had the opportunity to utilize Metro Loading Service due to the absolute dismal customer service they provided when I called them about services. I called, knowing that I wanted to use two movers for four hours, and the lady on the other end was extremely unhelpful. She mentioned that I needed to use at least 3 or 4 men, which was way more then we honestly needed. Once I pointed out that no other service we were considering said to use more then 2 movers I was told quote "well I guess you should use them!" I was completely blown away, especially considering I was a potential, paying customer. I barely write review but I feel obligated to pay tribute to these guys before I leave the area. Have used their service in 2013 and 2016 when we are moving in and out of Chicago using ABF trailer. These guys are solid and truly professional, 200% satisfaction, best movers I ever used. (Trust me, I've moved 9 times and have used everything, from Amigo to moving company) They give precise estimates, arrive ON TIME, efficient, no slack, gentle, fast...... the list can go on and on, can't say enough good things about them. They will give you a call a day ahead to confirm the time, also will let you know what kind of supplies you may need (wraps, furniture pads, straps etc.), listen to them and you'll definitely need those if you don't want any damage. You can get those either by yourself or they can bring it over at a fair price, you only pay for what you have used. Ask them to pack the furniture, don't do it yourself! They packed our sofa literally within 2 minutes. Should have let them pack heavy items instead of sore for the whole week... If you're in the area and need movers, they are the way to go!! read more

Metro Loading Services (MLS) rushed through the job in order to get to their next. I was told that the "unloading" is all that is covered in my 3 hour minimum charge even though the crew only worked for 2 hours. When I inquired about using my remaining hour to move my heavier items to their appropriate locations within the house, they obfuscated and threw me paperwork. I'm more than happy to pay for services rendered, but I paid for 3 hours and received 2 hours' worth of work. This may be legal per the contract, but is poor business practice, counter-intuitive, and definitely sub-par when it comes to moving companies. I would not use them again, nor recommend their services be employed. My standards are not exceptionally high when it comes to service business and the MLS crew left much to be desired. read more

Not COVID-friendly movers at all - apparently strong enough to move stuff but these tough men can't breathe through masks that everyone else can - not to mention one told me he was 'immune' when I asked him to please wear a mask, especially since I had an infant in the house. Also did things like break stuff and not even mention it/attempt to clean it up (knocked a glass water bottle into our sink which was not near anything that needed to be moved for instance) - just left the mess and didn't care. I will say that one of the three men we hired seemed professional and more friendly (though at the end of the day even his mask came off while my husband remained courteously masked the whole time), but mister 'immune' 'couldn't breathe' mask-less wonder really made me mad - even smoked at least a pack of cigarettes while everyone else was working. We hired two laborers for three hours from Metro Loading Service, through Moving Staffers/U-Pack. We figured that it would take them the three hours to load the big furniture and bulky equipment and that we would load up all of the boxes. Jim and Dave came in the morning and we explained to them what we wanted and they were very agreeable. In the three hours they were here they not only had the big furniture and bulky equipment loaded but most of everything else we had packed loaded as well. We had 23' of space reserved on the trailer and they packed everything they moved into 6'. We have a three bedroom house and though we weren't done packing yet, but we had most of the house packed by the time they arrived. They have a good eye for logistics and things were packed in tight which will reduce shifting in transit. Metro Loading Service made a very tedious, LONG, job much more manageable. If you value your possession don't let these guys near them. They were fast but that's because they basically just threw everything in. Boxes clearly labeled 'Fragile - China' on the bottom of the truck, tons of wasted space both up top and on the sides. At least half of our wooden furniture has rub marks from where they failed to use pads. I've moved 5 times and this is by far the worst company I've ever seen. Don't waste your money. read more
