I've used Bob's several times for moves around the city and they are transparent about pricing and get the job done quickly.

Bob was on time, and very communicative. Delivered on-time, and my customer was very happy with his service. Would definitely recommend.

I used them last year for a move. They quoted me $450 approx. for my move, and then 1) brought an extra mover without telling me and then charged me closer to $650, and 2) broke one of my tables, attempted to fix it, didn't actually fix it and now I have to get a new one and 3) stopped responding to emails when I asked for an explanation / for a discount. They tacked on travel / the additional mover cost with no prior notification, which seems sleazy to only reveal when you're being handed the invoice at the end of an exhausting move. Would not recommend due to lack of transparency and damage to my items. read more

Working with Bob and his crew was a breeze! From receiving a quote to scheduling our move-in date to the actual move itself, Bob's team was fast, professional and reliable. We moved our stuff cross-country in a POD from a 2 BR apartment that originally took two movers about three hours to load, so we only needed local movers to "unload" the POD and move it into our new house. With that information, Bob was able to provide a quote that was BY FAR the most competitive option relative to the more established moving companies we solicited quotes from. He was also able to accommodate POD's sporadic pick-up schedule (PODS can only tell you the date they will pick up the empty POD, not the time) ... his team showed up early and knocked out the unload in ~2 hours, which is exactly how long Bob said it would take. His crew was careful, respectful and seemed to enjoy what they were doing! Would use Bob's team again 10/10 times. Especially for a POD unload like we did! read more

We hired Bob's Moving Muscle to move our inventory from our storage unit on the fourth floor to the new unit we acquired on the first floor, and there was no working Elevator. These guys are great! I had a storage unit + 3rd floor moving to another 3rd floor. Ron & his crew were friendly, professional and efficient! A piece of glass did break in the move, but thankfully Ron was able to get a replacement made. The time quoted was spot on, and anything I needed disassembled or reassembled, wrapped or taped - it was never an issue. The cost breakdown is easy to understand, and doesn't nickel and dime you the way other places do. The group of movers who came to my house were energetic, cautious, and polite. They worked quickly to get the job done and encouraged each other when lifting heavy items. I hired Bob as an afterthought--I had lined up a previous moving company that was high-pressured and changed their quote and presented a host of other red flags. Those previous movers seemed like Shysters. I had used Bob for smaller moves and it never occurred to me to use him for my massive move (moving after 31 years). So I went back to Bob and was pleased to see he could help me with the my big move. He was absolutely reliable and hard working along with all his guys and communicated clearly--which sadly--I found to be more and more rare. I would recommend him in a heartbeat. My only regret is that I didn't use him more--I had some emergency smaller moves to storage right before the big move. I had searched and made arrangements with two different movers from Craigs list--both who promised and promised me they would show up and NEVER DID. Yeah, definitely use Bob. read more

Bob was professional and first came to the house to look at the job to better estimate the time and cost. His crew was luckily available on the Saturday we planned for, on a somewhat short notice. Strong and personable crew (Ronnie, Joe, and Jo-el) arrived on time, packed and wrapped some remaining fragile items, carefully loaded the truck (Tetris-style!) and fit it all in so that furniture didn't move. They efficiently unloaded the truck at our destination and placed all the items where we indicated. They were willing to assemble the bed frame as well as attach the mirror to the dresser. Crew was caring and careful, and spent the time needed to do a great job. They also finished sooner than the estimate and charged us a lower price. They are very careful when wrapping furniture. Mine had to go to storage so I bought my own blankets so I could keep everything wrapped. All my glass was protected and no breakage or chips on anything. I had a crew of three and it took about 8 hrs to move out and move into storage. This is the 2nd time I have hired them and I am very pleased with their work and crew. Nice guys. read more

These guys are the best movers! The nicest guys and super hard working. They bring a truck, took apart our big furniture, and put it back together. They even got a large sectional down tight basement stairs. I love that they charge by the hour so there were no surprises on the price compared to the quote. I would not use this company again. We were quoted 3.5-4.5 hours and it took them 5. This was for furniture and misc large items (ex. Art work, chair) However, the original estimate of time included an extra dresser which we did not have them take and taking apart, transporting and putting our bed back together; which we did not have them do. My husband and I began to shrink wrap items bc it was taking so long and because they weren't having all items shrink wrapped or covered up as promised. Our computer chair was not wrapped or protected (in all fairness the chair was not that nice, so perhaps they decided it wasn't necessary) our New tv stand was not wrapped and is now scratched on the right side. Our wall clock was not wrapped up and is now broken (see picture). We have one very large piece of art, that I specifically requested be protected and it wasn't even wrapped up, just pushed into the truck in between items. Thankfully this was not damaged. I understood this was a budget friendly company and so the service wouldn't be top notch but please note, they do not wear shoe coverings on flooring or carpet. This I will take responsibility for as I did not ask in advance. The worst part of the move is they scratched our brand new floors :( (see picture). I'm so disappointed in using this company and would not recommend them to anyone moving. I always try to use smaller companies instead of big franchise companies but I should not have on this service. I paid $550 for the service. My advice to you, pay the same amount of a little extra and get a more reputable company. read more

I needed to find a moving company to move from one apartment to another apartment. I have used movers in the past but this time I wanted to try another company so I just did a search of moving companies, that is how I came across Bob's Mover's. Bob's Movers were on time, wrapped my big furniture and moved it quickly! Being that it is winter time and the back porch was icy, they had to move the furniture from the front of the building. They were able to work around obstacles that would have not be an issues under better weather conditions. The movers were very nice, professional, quick. They also have an eye for helping arrange the furniture, which was greatly appreciated! These movers are awesome. I will definitely suggest this company to anyone moving. After making the mistake of thinking we could do this ourselves we.hired Bob's Moving (which I believe is also Kay Movers) to move some very heavy armoires we had purchased. They needed to be moved from Chicago to the north burbs and we only had a few days to do it. I used Bob's services today for my 2bed 1bath move into a storage pod. There were a lot of large pieces of furniture and many boxes and all were handled with care. I was concerned that my belongings wouldn't fit in the pod I purchased because of the volume of items I had but Bob's crew was dedicated to making sure it fit neatly and safely. I chose Bob and his crew (Brian and Joe) for all the 3- and 4-star reviews where people complain that they don't chit chat. This was great because I was hiring movers and not therapists. They showed up and were inside the door for all of 5 seconds before they started moving things after cordial introductions. While Bob, Brian, and Joe were all great guys, they were there to work and not really there to be my new best friend. Now, this isn't to say I found them aloof or standoffish, quite the contrary, but I hire movers to move, and move they did. They were all very polite and friendly, but they were busy moving things. So if you're looking for a new BFF, maybe hire someone else. If you're looking to move things from point A to point B in a fast, efficient, and protective manner, then look no further. This is not a massive operation, so don't expect an 18-wheeler to pull up, but be accurate with your load and they'll accommodate you with a clear estimate. read more

Wow, we were BLOWN away. I found Bob through a recommendation on Reddit of all places and we were not disappointed. The quote was quick, professional and prompt. We had to change our moving plan twice and Bob was gracious enough to pivot and adjusted the plans accordingly. In addition, his crew was kind, polite, on-time and wicked fast!
