I think it's how we approach any situation that dictates its outcome. I will admit that it's not always easy or pleasant dealing with the onsite management staff at Seacoast Towers in BK but the headquarters office definitely has some thoughtful, caring and kind employees who have not failed me yet. (THANK YOU, TOM!) We are shareholders and residents and aren't living in these luxury buildings free of charge. So, we expect that our issues/requests will be addressed immediately and with great enthusiasm. I don't think that will happen in any management office and throwing around demands, being aggressive and rude (even if the person you're dealing with starts showing their teeth mid-conversation), likely won't produce desired results. They'll remember you, but for the wrong reasons Kindness, patience and respect towards those you expect to provide you with the assistance you require, speaks volumes in how that assistance will be provided. read more

It has come to the attention of Crescent Tower Condominium residents that the vice president of the condo board Nikica Rednic Majic has been using condominium residents' money for her family business and demanding residents to pay her sister as an architect, despite her services not being necessary. As a resident of the condominium, I find this behavior unacceptable and a violation of the trust that we have placed in the board members to manage our community's resources responsibly. It is important for the board to act in the best interests of all residents, and such actions undermine the integrity of the board and the community as a whole. My wife and I were owners in a co-op managed by this company. If you have the misfortune of having Renee from Metro Management as your contact, be careful. She is rude, non-responsive, and frustratingly poor at her job. It is astonishingly frustrating. If you are forced to deal with her, be sure to copy her boss Joe on all communication. Metro is in the business of taking advantage of low income folks who are unfortunate enough to reside in their housing. I hope everyone who works there feels really good about themselves and one day has an elderly family member live in and experience one of their squalid buildings. They will make up rules, nickle and dime you whenever they can, give inconsistent answers to questions, and then just ignore you altogether. I requested an itemized receipt for repairs and costs from my old apt they claimed we owed them and they could not produce one, yet continue to charge us arrears. December 15 2023 I and my family moved to 233 Weequachic Ave in New Jersey underneath the property Metro Manage. since I and my family been in this apartment every month we have had a service issue, whether it be roaches, mice whether it be leaks whether it be floors that are caved in. We have always had an issue in this apartment the landlords use cheap material to fix up work I am still using a broken mailbox after the company gave me keys to a mailbox last month, that is still broken Exposing everyone's security and mail to the public, which is very dangerous yet alone, the intercom system does not work People cannot enter the building. It is ridiculous and yet they charge 1508 a month for conditions like this. Just a week and a half ago I had water coming from the apartment above me the next day I had mushrooms growing in my ceiling water still leaking. They use cheap patchwork, unethical unprofessional. Please avoid renting from this company. There is a homeless who sleeps in the hallways & smokes cigarettes not caring about the children or people who live in the building. I really feel for the other home owners who have expressed their frustrations. Specifically, we've been dealing with Theresa Kelliher. From the start, she wasn't helpful by any means and is super unprofessional in the way in which she communicates. She is not only incompetent, lacks basic knowledge in most management areas but when things go wrong she then blames all errors on the Board or HOA members. One of the worst ever building Management company. Extremely rude staff. They recently conducted annual elections at the coop that I live in. They openly supported the current board members. They had the names of only current board members on the ballot. They did not even bother to ask who else was running. Supporters of challenging team had to hand write the names on the ballot .They designed a proxy form that favors current board members that asked shareholders to drop the proxy to office that only current board members have access to and not the challenging candidates. They did not give clear instructions on the ballot process on election day and blamed the challenging candidates for delay in submitting proxies. There were no reps/observers from challenging team when they pre counted the ballots of current board that had zero rejections. They rejected a high percentage of proxies/ballots of challenging candidates without giving valid reasons and favored current board members. They gave silly reasons like "It is already in the system". Metro Management cannot be trusted in conducting a fair election. Period. If there was a zero or negative rating, I would have given that. read more

I live in a coop in Jackson Heights and we have a good, experienced property manager who has seen us through many, many issues. With his help and the help of the finance director we got the building turned around physically and financially. Now, it's a treasure and we are both solvent and the building looks terrific. Our manager and his assistant are responsive and respectful. The notices they gave us when the Covid emergency started were very helpful. We've had the same property manager for 20 years and I'm very happy for the continuity of management. Many thanks to Metro! read more

They are terrible and avoid transparency and beat around the bush when asked to give answers in regard to maintenance increases which in the case of the Elmhurst Gardens co-op they have raised maintenance 3 times in less than 12 months. As usual the upkeep of the building is crap and the board if full of shit. When board elections took place, they did not mention anything regarding this last 9% increase and the following week hit everyone with the Maintenace increase. Aside from that the current and unfortunately reelected board president has no composure and instead of making a proper speech proceeded to get altercated and throw a if I did you should tantrum like a brat, and basically stated that whoever would be elected has to accomplish what she had which was basically not much in my honest opinion (only elevators where changed). she claimed that she has a deal and works closely with the local police precinct, and claims that she has cleaned out the street, however whenever I am arriving home from work and leaving there are men in groups with beer cans and intoxicated in the corners of Whitney and Elmhurst as early as 11 am. Many time condo owner are blaming the property managers and not the boards because they do not understand the command of control. Undoubtedly, the property manager Theresa Kelliher is incompetent and useless, but it is not really her fault. Owners must be well informed that all of their problems are a result of the board. I have lived in Crescent Tower Condominium property for nearly 12 years and it used to be a good place to live: the most friendly and kind environment, the most amazing board with an open mind and an active listener. Every unit owner had a voice and took part in decision making. Now we have the board that is very hard to deal with. The president of the board Tony Ferraro is an insecure little man who is scared of his own shadow. The person who calls the shots is the vice president Nikica Rendic: corrupt, arrogant, conceited and unsavory character. She is so ill-mannered that once she humiliated the super of the building and told him that she was the one paying his salary. Nikica Rendic uses the president's names to answer the emails from the unit owners with the intent to frighten and intimidate them if they ask questions about things she feels uncomfortable about. Over the past few years the board was in charge of the renovation of the buildings elevators, balconies, garage and the gym. The result: low-quality construction work and its consequences. They do not allow owners to voice their concerns, if they do they either ignore and do not respond or scare them by getting an attorney involved. We need to change our board members but, first and foremost, we need to get rid of Nikica Rendic. read more

I have absolute confidence in this Management Company. The Senior Management and its employees respond promptly and patiently to the unit holder requests either for services or any other requirements. My assessment is not based on just one instance of my request. I had many occasions of interaction with the Senior Management and Employees of this Organization. I lived in Lido Beach Towers, a gated condominium building in Lido Beach for 2 years which is management by Metro Management. Where do I begin? The whole office, but particularly the manager, Shari Morse, made everything difficult for me. They made my experience living in this building horrible. They are so money hungry. The strictness and the rules and regulations that they impose are so completely absurd and out of control. I had been living in the condo for less than 2 weeks when I was having furniture delivered. Their rule is no deliveries after 5pm Monday-Friday. Fine. It was a Wednesday and the delivery truck called and said they would be arriving a little after 5pm. I knew the concierge/front desk woman would not allow the delivery through the gate, so I asked her if I meet the delivery truck outside the gate can they still deliver the furniture after 5pm? She said yeah, as long as they're outside the gate. Ok, great. The delivery was made. PS- a few days later I get a letter from the management that I had violated one of the rules by having a delivery after 5pm! I was ordered to pay a $100 fine within 3 days. I emailed another woman in management, Chris, (who has since left the office) telling her the whole story, but I placed a check in their mailbox and complied. I went back and forth with management about what happened and didn't hear anything back for a few weeks. Finally by some miracle they decided to refund my check because they admitted that they gave me wrong information and I did everything right. Hallelujah! However, I had literally JUST moved in and this is how they treated me?! That left a super sour note for me regarding the management and I never changed my feelings. Recently they started to require an EXTRA $250 cleaning/disinfecting fee for move ins and move outs. But get this- they already have a $500 move in/move out (refundable) security deposit for everyone AND when someone moves in or out, they close off one elevator (on either the west or east wing) for the move. THE WHOLE REST OF THE BUILDING IS NOT USED BY THE MOVERS. They have to literally just wipe down one elevator out of four that are in the building. $250 for that?? They are so power and money hungry at this company. Any way to make extra money and make people's lives harder. When I was moving out, I had to be on top of that Shari Morse about getting a move out date approval (only one move in and out a day is allowed). She kept stringing me along. "Let's see when it gets closer" kind of things. Um, do they realize there are other people involved in a move than just them? I have to let movers know, etc. Such selfish disgusting people I never saw in my life. If you blink the wrong way they will fine you and keep fining you. Upon finally moving out, I was due my (refundable) $500 security deposit. Omg, what a stress that was. I took pictures of the building after my move, showing that I left the walls, carpeting, floors perfect. All their orders were complied with. Yet, I was not receiving a response from Shari Morse about when and how I would receive my deposit back. First she said it would take 3 weeks to get it back. 3 weeks past. I had to keep following up. She said she'll look into it. Still nothing. Continuing to jump through hoops, I emailed her again. She said she "found out" that it can take up to 4 weeks from the bank to close the account and issue a refund. I'm sorry- she "just found out"? This woman has been working there for years and she doesn't know how a refund of security deposits works?? She sure seems to act like she knows everything. Long story short, it look 6 emails to her, a threat to sue, a threat to contact NYS Secretary of State & Attorney General (which I did contact about this) and I was about to go to small claims court when I FINALLY received the deposit back. What I had to go through though should never have happened. It's really a disgrace. I can't reiterate how difficult they made these last two years for me. Another thing which is kinda funny- they require masonite on the carpet when you move in/out. Both movers I had in and out had issues with the management (particularly Shari Morse) and one mover told me he has worked in much much fancier buildings in NYC and they don't require masonite for the carpeting and that the carpeting in LBT is crap, nothing, LOL. Absolute worst ever, literally. I lived at a metro management property for 1.5 years, and found the management staff to be unprofessional and incompetent at best. To be fair, the building staff - doormen, super - were great, but they were stifled by the horrible policies of Metro Management. Examples of Metro being the worst: (1) no heat in the "luxury" building lobby, so the doorman staff would freeze; (2) didn't invest in equipment to shampoo the carpet for a full year, so the hallway carpet was laden with dog urine; (3) took no responsibility or concern when electric bills sky rocketed w/o explanation - e.g. a studio apartment received a $700 electric bill; (4) they held on to security deposit checks for 90 days - which is actually illegal; (5) regularly ignore and never respond to tenant concerns... I could go on. Moral of story - don't ever live in a building managed by Metro. I even traded emails with the Principal, David Baron -- he is nothing short of nonsensical and stupid, to say the VERY least. If you don't believe me, please google stories about "53 Broadway" before making a decision to do business with these crooks. Never again, ever. read more

Don't work for these people. Don't do business with these people. The owner (David Baron) is a snake. 2 former employees at a development in Queens left their roles abruptly as they were being harassed and insulted by the board of the development in which is ran by Metro. Both managers were led to believe that the owner would protect his own people; but it turns out, he's quick to brush things under the rug, allows his board to operate outside of their fiduciary responsibilities and doesn't care to even show up to meetings. The latest manager made complaints to the owner and they were ignored thus causing the manager to leave due to lack of support. The manager before left due to a mental breakdown of constantly being told she isn't good enough and they fired her because she tried advising the board on how to properly do their jobs. The company in itself has back office issues in which they can never get things right. If you are development looking for A quality management service, avoid this company! The company has been under suspicion of fraud in the past and the owner only cares about his monthly fee. As a resident in the community in which is managed by Metro, I am sick to my stomach watching all this unfold to the point I intend to sell my unit. This management company is by far the worst I have ever encountered. They have several entities working under the Parent company, Metro Manage. Be aware if you are in the market searching for an apartment; AVOID renting from them. They don't care about the quality of the their properties all they care about is collecting rent. They are unprofessional, they are slumlords to the highest degree, unresponsive unless it's rent time. They have no regard for safe & decent living of their tenants. Throughout the entire pandemic they threatened to take my family to court; even told us we were home too much because we are complaining of issues in the apartment; despite the fact that we were all under a "shelter in place" ordered by the NJ governor & the Mayor of Newark; and the house is supposed to be the safest place during these trying times, in my case it has not been. I reported several times that my apartment was infested with roaches & rats. Even found that a rat(s) had a litter of stillbirth mice in a cube storage bin in my daughter's room; in which they ate holes in the clothes in the bin. The rats & mice have gotten on my children's beds and ate holes in the mattress side closest to the walls. I thought by putting the beds on risers would deter them from getting on the beds, I think NOT!!! When I reported this to metro management their response was we haven't received your rent. I can go on for hours about their neglect. I wish I could upload pictures of my apartment & could you imagine living this way for 1&1/2 years. They even stooped, so super low to have other members of their staff create factious positive feedback reviews, so that the sites can be distinct from their other sites: Metro Management has properties in Newark, East Orange, Jersey City, Elizabeth, NJ & Flushing Queens & Bronx, NY.
