I stopped by the Lyon Park Liberty gas station on my way to work this morning. The line of cars turning left onto Washington Blvd. was too long to let me pull out onto Pershing Dr., so I looped around on 7th St. and Edgewood St. to get back to Pershing. Just as I pulled out onto Pershing....BAM! THUNK thunk thunk thunk! I shifted into Park and heard a SHRIEK shrieking chatter from under the hood! I killed engine and there I sat...halfway into the intersection with a car that wouldn't go. Feeling foolish and helpless, I floundered to get my wits about me and do something about it. Fortunately, while I was calling to get a tow truck, a kindly lady from one of the nearby houses asked if I wanted her to check and see if the guys from Metro Motor could come help. I said yes, and off she went. Within minutes one of the mechanics came down with a small tool kit, but my quick description of "BAM, THUNK, SHRIEK," and he knew he needed more help. He glanced back at me as he said, "Let me go get the rest of the guys." Just a few minutes later four gents came down to help. I rattled off what happened and Sean took a quick look under the car and said, "Yep, that's what I thought. You snapped your axle. Let's get you out of the intersection." One of the guys hopped in the car and the rest of us pushed it down the street back to the garage. Within minutes, I was able to cancel the tow truck, provide contact information to Sean, and get a plan in place to fix the car. Sean even offered to get me a ride to work if I needed it. That was at 8:30am. Within an hour or so Sean had called and provided a detailed explanation of what had happened, what it would take to fix it, and reasonable price. By 1:30pm the repair was done and they were ready for me to pick up my car. The team at Metro Motors were exceptional in helping me out. They quickly jumped into to help me and treated me like a friend they hadn't met yet. They were calm, cool, professional, and decisive in figuring out what was wrong, what needed to be done, and how to help me deal with this unexpected Monday morning disaster. Last Friday (Oct 19/2018) our 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition picked up a nail/screw in its right rear tire. It just needed a quick repair and we stopped at the Metromotor Lyon Park Liberty station to see if they would do it. Immediate service was given by Jason who repaired the flat on the spot. When asked what we owed on the work, he replied "No charge." Impressed by his honest sincerity, he had our business. The following Monday (Oct 22/2018) the clutch finally failed on that same Jeep (after 215,000 plus miles). We immediately had AAA tow our vehicle to Metromotor Lyon Park Liberty where Jason welcomed us back with an understanding smile. What followed was an honest estimate for the repair. We accepted. Jason and his crew then looked out for our interests, kept in touch, gave honest evaluations of the work, and saved us money where they could. We received excellent mechanics (I do my own when time's available) AND an AAA DISCOUNT. They also offer a discount if you live in the 22201 neighborhood (one or the other, but not both). This place is great! I brought my car in for some major repair work that needed to be done around the holidays (... that is the last thing you want to be worrying about at that time of year...) and they were amazing! They fixed everything quickly even during the holiday time and had great customer service! I worked with Ricardo- he is super knowledgeable about what's going on with the car and finding solutions. He was in communication the whole time and he really makes sure the customer is taken care of! He clearly explained what was needed and gave me a great price (I had compared at a few other places previously and chose this shop based on his recommendations and price). Ricardo goes above and beyond. He really listens to you... Aside from the repair work, I had mentioned in passing I was planning on a cross country road trip and he specifically made sure to check over the car for everything needed for a safe trip free of charge. He did a few extra touches and even made sure I was set up with AAA in case of an emergency! It really is the things like that that shows how much he appreciates you as a customer. I've been coming to this gas station and repair shop for a while now to get gas and yearly inspections. Today I tried them out for maintenance on my car and couldn't be happier with their service! Not only do they have the cheapest gas prices in the area, but their auto repair service is top-notch. I took my car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and a general check-up, and they knocked it out of the park. They topped off all my fluids, checked the brakes (and gave me a heads-up on a minor issue that I can take care of later), and got everything done quickly. I came to get gas with four tires on my truck. Someone asked me if I needed anyone to put the tires on, and I wanted to know the rates for tires and installing lower control arms (all I already bought). Instead of giving me rates right away they went inside to discuss then came out told me "$450". I almost laughed. Around the corner at Japanese auto care they offered me 250, and a little bit further out in Springfield it's 200. Not sure if the price doubled because Im a woman, or they just have insanely high prices-- it is Arlington to be fair-- but if you're looking to get work done on your car I'd recommend elsewhere. read more

Anthony, Metro Motor's Service Manager, could not have been more helpful and friendly. I needed air in my car tires, which is a simple task but not the most intuitive for me. Anthony immediately stepped over, confirmed the required tire pressure, and took care of all four tires. I live just a few blocks from this auto/gas station and am delighted that he has gone out of his way to introduce himself as a member of the community and as a small business there to support the neighborhood. This morning, I had a punctured tire that went completely flat. I rolled into Metro Motor with my deflated tire flapping on the pavement. Mr. Anthony Davenport, the Service Manager, responded immediately. He evaluated the tire on the spot, and it was patched and reinflated within a matter of minutes. He offered me and my son a seat in his office and a bottle of water while we waited. He saw a mom in distress and responded with great kindness, generosity, and skill. One of my tires had a slow leak and I went to Metro Motor's to have them check my tire since I recently purchased it from them. The manager, I believe his name is Ricardo was super pleasant and immediately ready to assist me with my request. He put air in the tire, jacked up my car, removed the nail, plugged the tire and checked all of my tires air pressure in the quickest time that I've ever seen. Last Friday I realized I needed an oil change and my tires rotated before going out of town on Saturday. I started calling around to different auto shops and they all said I could drop my car and after a few hours come to retrieve it. This option was not possible as I had two young children with me and needed my vehicle for the day. When I spoke to Anthony on the phone, he told me to come in and they would take care of me.
