do not recommend. We used them as our building LEEDS has a contract with them, that is the ONLY reason why. We are very clean, have a cleaning lady come weekly and clean every evening. Bugs can just be apart of NY apartments but a good exterminator and cleanliness helps. First of all, it is very difficult to schedule an appointment, my management makes tenants schedule most likely because it is a hassle. You have to call say you want an appointment gives dates(we said whenever we work from home) and then wait for a call back and then confirm. The representative booking things are very busy because of whats going on. Not sure what that means but I guess COVID. This can be a big barrier. Secondly, their technicians are rude and are dishonest. We asked that we have a call about 45 minutes/1 hour prior to them arriving and the tech just showed up and denied having that note in account and was very rude about it. We need warning as we have a baby that sleeps, work from home seeing patients and need to abide by HIPPA. They do what they want and collect a fee from management company to not show up. My management company was super angry about this and is making us pay the fee. In addition, they do not show up. We scheduled with them and made arrangements for family members to be able to get out of house when here(childcare) and then they no show. I should charge them a fee. Also, due to their technical's dishonesty our management company is upset and does not want to schedule services for us anymore. Since moving into apartment 6 months we have had roaches in kitchen and they keep coming back despite only a monthly spray. They do not do a good job but hey our roaches have been here pre move in. Finally, when asked to speak to a manger we were told he is out today because of what is going on but back tomorrow and they can request he calls us.Great, my family and I will continue to get rude techs, no shows and poor treatments while we wait. Absolute worst pest control I have ever worked with. Their office and service technicians do not communicate with each other. Make sure you ask for terms of service because otherwise they won't provide them. Make sure you know what they are supposed to be doing because they don't often know themselves. This is challenging when you are dealing with something like bed bugs and you don't actually know what you should be getting. A technician actually came and pointed out the mistakes of the people who had been there before him to do the work. The only reason I used them was because they service our building regularly. A friend had similar issues in another building. Treatments were done badly or inadequately, leading to the pest problems taking significantly longer to be resolved. I would not hire them to service a building or do any treatments. I should also note that they lied to other residents of my building, telling them that the pest problem was only in their unit when it was rampant throughout the building. Metro Pest is contracted through the building I live in. The Building is old and there are roaches all over the building and in particular in and around the service area and garbage (more since there was a fire 6 months ago there has been a surge of roaches in the East Wing). It was suggested that I get a Fogger to remove the roaches in my kitchen. I agreed and an appointment was set with instructions for prepping. There seemed to be a miscommunication between the office and the exterminator. When I booked the appointment it was agreed we were only Fogging the kitchen. I later found out there was a work order (that I never saw) to treat the kitchen and the bathroom??? I have pets (a few cats and one dog) and all Pets must be removed when you are Fogging.The date was set for 1/23 and the exterminator came into my apt yelling, ranting and raving saying he could smell the" infestation" from the outside (impossible as the apt is on the top floor-7) but who does this???? How unprofessional! He is here to just do the job and leave (no crazy editorials!) I told him that the plastic was up because a very shy cat was hiding in the back bedroom. I asked him if it was still OK to release the Fogger while the cat was still in the apartment; is it safe? And he said yes. Public service announcement: it is illegal to Fog a home or apartment when ANY Pet is present (I reached out to the DEC and several reputable exterminator companies). You are taking a risk (liability) that the cat could die. The company / exterminator can lose their license(s) and/ or get fined. This exterminator still released the Fogger as we left the apartment. He mentioned (as we were leaving) that he was NOT going to report this to the office. Now I know why because what he did was illegal, stupid and he used poor judgement. We could have easily re-scheduled another day. He's the one that's supposed to uphold professional ethics and understand the implications of poison. A few days later I received a copy of the report and read how the exterminator intentionally falsified the report. He said I yelled at him and put up plastic to block the entire apartment from getting treated. WRONG. He completely omitted that the plastic was put up to protect the cat from dying as he released the Fogger knowing there was a domestic pet in the apartment. This particular exterminator is unprofessional, unethical and clearly operated within procedural violations. I'm glad there was a witness at the time to verify everything I have stated as this is under investigation. read more

Awhile back Herb helped us inspect and secure outer perimeter. AMAZING! More recently we had an issue that needed to be addressed immediately and Natasha found us a same day appt and techs Juan and Lewis were calm proficient experts who took their time to address all of our concerns AND WORKED MIRACLES. Their kindness and expertise are a credit to their office. Highly reccomend! Don't let poor reviews scare you..these guys are the real deal and I've used them for years to keep my home pest free. Had a situation with some unwanted pest. They came, did what they had to do. Also told me I was entitled to a follow up appointment. Rep on the phone was very nice. It was $300 but they sprayed a very large space. Maybe over 2000 sq ft. Coming back 1 week later to spray again and for a check up. Would def use again, however hope I don't have too. ask for glen. This review would have been a 4-5 stars if it were not because of the booking representative. I have been using Metro pest for my home and all the field agents have been great and professional. They are a bit pricey for my taste but they are thorough, detailed and really professional. Here comes the problem. I have had an incident where squirrel and Rats got into my house because of a roof crack. Also from side walk crack where DEP just fixed up the sewer pipe. Agent William has identified all the impossible to noticed trouble areas and he wrote it all down on his notebook. Therefore, I told William that I only wanted him to be my follow up agent and he gladly complied. I called and made the follow up appointment with the lady and I was being very specific about I do not want anyone else but only William, the very same William who just serviced my house. We even discussed the schedule because William was going to take a vacation and therefore I have to wait 1 extra week. She assured me the time and it will be no one else but only William. 2 weeks later, I called to just to confirm the appointment and to make sure William will be the person. The same lady answered the phone and she was rush and dismissive, I stopped her from hanging up and double checking about William. She said "Mr. Lam, yes William is on the computer list to service your home". Today was the appointment day and I called her to confirm again. Same thing, she can't wait to hang up and rushed me. I stopped her and insisted to double check about the time and is it going to be William. Same answer and very impatient. Okay. 30 minutes past my appointment time, I called and tried to find out how much longer. This same lady - Angela said "oh, I am sorry, William is not available and it will be some other agent who will do you house." I was really annoyed and angry. I am 100% sure all these time she has just gave me a run around and never took my request seriously. I told her I do not want the appointment anymore and I am beyond disgusted. She called me back 30 minutes later and said William will service my home. I asked William what happened in my home and he said my address was never on his working list for the day. Rude people on the phone, rude people in person. The inspectors were lackadaisical and half-assed - not a quality you want in an inspector - were visibly not paying much attention to what they were doing and were clearly not thorough, even though I was standing there watching them. The inspector did that infuriating thing were you ask them something, and no matter how many times and ways you repeat the question, they keep answering some other imaginary question that they ASSUME you are asking, instead of LISTENING and answering the question you are ACTUALLY asking. Another quality you don't want in an inspector. They were late, of course - I've resigned myself to the fact that anyone in this type of line of service is 1000000% guaranteed to be late. read more

A squirrel got into our house. They left us a $25 trap and charged us $350. They didn't even have bait, and set the trap so the squirrel was able to set off the trap without going in. I reset the trap in a different place, got the squirrel and released him. Totally useless service. read more

I agree with many other reviewers with regard to failure of metro pest to control bed bugs in an apartment complex. I had bed bugs TWICE in 2 years and they refused to consider any other method besides spraying horrific chemicals in our apartment. Inspections in the rest of The building or adjacent apartments was NoT taken care of and many other apartments have mice and roach problems on a regular basis. I reported my building and metro pest to the Westchester department county of health and they said spraying for bed bugs was NOT an effective treatment. Heat or cold treatments should also be used. Good luck if you ever use their services. read more

Agree with the other reviewers on the TERRIBLE work, MISCOMMUNICATION, and LIES from this company....DO NOT contact this company if you have to pay out of pocket and even then, it's not worth it. My building and a few others use them so that is the only reason they are still in business. 1. Issue inspection & resolution: The first time they came for an inspection, they said there was a problem from just looking at ONE area...they were in the apartment for no more than 3 minutes yet i had to stay at home on a work day for this 'inspection.' I asked them what about the rest of the apartment and the guy said he would need to treat the rest of the apartment instead of answering my question or inspecting anything else. They seemed annoyed that they had to answer any of my questions and just told me to refer to the instructions that handed me, which wasn't very clear and I had to call back to clarify several things. After the first visit, i knew this would be a mess. They left trash open from whatever they removed and used my plastic bags instead of bringing their own to do it. If this is their daily job, then why aren't they prepared with the right materials to actually do it? They left screws on the floor that I almost stepped on when i came home at night..which is the other big issue, they removed the screws from my bed but didn't put a couple of key screws back in so my box spring sank and nearly broke the wooden bed frame!!! The bed was 100% fine until Metro Pest came so I had to fix the bed myself. They came for a follow-up and still didn't get rid of the issue, which i was told wasn't a severe issue. 2. Scheduling: Scheduling an appointment is another ordeal of having to call back multiple times and reconfirm to ensure they are coming. I called 12 days after the follow-up appointment to schedule a 3rd appointment and the rep said they would call me back once their scheduling department had reviewed it. I didn't get a call back for 2 days so I called again and the rep said the scheduling 'department' was very busy so it would take longer. So basically, you'll lose several days just trying to get an appointment while the problem continues to get worse in your home. I had the super call after 6 days from my first call and they told the super that I should wait until longer to see if I still see more before I schedule an appointment. So they completely LIED to me when they said it was with scheduling...they never intended to schedule an appointment. At this point it's been 6 weeks since the first treatment and I saw another live bed bug this morning! They came for a 3rd appointment on 8/29 and I found puddles of the spray they used in different areas of the house after coming back 4 hours after the treatment was supposed to be done so I left the house again. How safe is that--to carelessly leave puddles of a spray that you shouldn't be in direct contact with in the house? I'll update this review again in 3 weeks to ensure that the bed bugs are gone. If you want to waste a lot of time getting non-answers or flat-out lies, following up, and still not having the issue resolved, then this is the perfect company to contact. read more

I was subjected to Metro Pest Control via my landlord. Metro may prove capable of eliminating common pests, but from my experience bedbugs is beyond them. They recently applied their standard treatment for minor bugs and that was mostly ineffective too. Who knows what's in those canisters? Initially, the receptionist's King's English accent enticed me into believing I'm working with a professional company. However, on follow-up calls that initial greeting feels more like rejoining a Monty Python skit. Each time she passed me to someone who would contradict much of what I had heard before. See, all communication with this company is over the phone, which allows them certain liberties. For instance, I was waiting 7am-noon for the treatment. When I called at 11:30am, they told me my appointment is (and always was) scheduled for 3-7pm -- which I NEVER would have taken given that you need to stay out of your apartment 4-6 hours after -- yet I have no proof of the earlier conversation. I had asked during the scheduling call for them to send me an email with the schedule. The contact agreed, then I never received an email. The only thing they provide in writing is a flyer on how to prepare your home. I'm guessing it was composed in Spanish (on one side) then translated to English for the other side. The flyer's English side repeats itself over and over in some ways, yet does not supply other necessary detail at all. I can't see how this is a viable service to anyone speaking English. I'm going to research this further, but it appears only one employee is certified to deal with bedbugs. George clearly would like you to call him Papi -- but sorry -- smug, pompous jerk is what comes to my mind. When you're infested with begbugs, you're looking for a teammate in combat, not Dr. Nick from the Simpsons. I do not intend to further engage this group. I have to say my accolades are for Joe Mcswiggan, he was by far the best. My building has been treated what ten times by now and usually the technician spends maybe 2 minutes here, Joe not only sprayed but gel -Ed all my cabinets in the bathroom ( bc spraying if you are going to shower immediately would be toxic, first technician to point out!!) He was by far the best and deserves a raise. This my first yelp review bc that's how serious and thankful I am. This company services our building regularly, but when I asked when they would be here-so I didnt have to waste an entire Saturday, they said they didn't service our building and hadn't for six years. Loooong story short, they were the correct company but didn't have the correct address of our building. They still didn't give me a set time, so I waited all day until 4:30pm. I was fed up and about to leave my apartment for the first time that day when the exterminator knocked on my door. He was nice enough but we actually had more mice sightings AFTER they came than before. I'm not even sure how that is possible. read more

We had a horrible experience with Metro Pest, not an exaggeration to call it one of the worst and most intense of our lives. Last week I woke up with painful bug bites covering my legs. We saw no signs of bed bugs, but decided to get an inspection just to be safe, as we had just moved into a new neighborhood and bought a couch on craigslist. The team from Metro Pest arrived, took one look at my leg and said we definitely had bed bugs. He looked at our mattress and within seconds told us he had seen a bug. We should have asked to see it for our selves, but in our panicked state, took his word for it. We then asked if they would inspect the couch where we thought the bugs would have come from. We were told there was no point, everything in the whole apartment would have to be treated. He handed us a one page print out, (which listed a confusing and insane amount of prep work to be done before the extermination appointment) and told us to call when we had done it all. Then the inspector began pitching his private business where he would "give us a deal and guarantee". We got to work sealing, vacuuming, and heat-drying everything we owned (hundreds of books, a lot of clothes). This took the full weekend working round the clock. We had to confess our situation to our new landlord, feeling humiliated and guilty. We spent literally hundreds of dollars on cleaning supplies and laundry. Meanwhile we were staying at my parents' (the only people we felt comfortable asking) and living in one pair of clothes. We expected not to see the rest of our belongings for six weeks, per the Metro Pest handout. We tried several times over the course of the weekend, to get in touch with Metro Pest with questions and were met with a frustrating, outsourced phone answering system. Finally, since we had many questions about the process, and were not completely happy about the first inspection, we decided to look at different exterminators and found one with great reviews (Scott at Bed Bug Inspections of NY). Bed Bug Inspections of NY was amazingly patient and attentive over the phone. Scott agreed to do our extermination but suggested a free in person visit before-hand, just to see how we were getting on with the prep. When he arrived, he pretty quickly determined we had none of the signs of bed bugs and explained why, due to bed bug behavior and lifespan, etc, it was highly unlikely we had them. if we did, he said there would have to be so few that an exterminator would be completely unnecessary. He looked at my leg and said that MANY DIFFERENT INSECTS MAKE THE SAME BITE MARKS. He told us some things we could do ourselves (spraying dark corners and crevices with alcohol) that would eliminate any risk if we were very worried. I almost wish we had got to meet his cute dogs who would have sniffed bed bugs, but he kindly did not want to waste our money on any unnecessary services. He is a real professional and could tell himself. There are many scam artists looking to make money off of the hysteria and social stigma the bed bug epidemic has caused in new york. When I realized my apartment may have been infested with bed bugs, I was referred to Metro by a friend, and what else can I say other than the fact that I was not disappointed. Managers and staff were very friendly, and I was able to set up an appointment for that very day. All my questions were answered with assurance, and my bug problem was resolved quickly. I have been a customer of Metro for over 10 years and have never had a compliant.I've had various treatments from regular bi-monthly insect extermination and Termite elimination service and now pest service. Yes some technicians over the years have had more experience than others but all were efficient in their job and always polite. My current regular technician Mr. Kim had been servicing me for a year now, he's knowledge and I trust him to cover my house without supervision, overall I'm satisfied him. I haven't seen a roach, mouse or any other creepy crawly in my home in over 9 years . On 10/16/14 I saw a mouse in my basement for the first time in 9 years. On 10/17/14 I called Metro in panic I spoke with Glen. He patiently listened to me rant . I even asked if they had a trained cat . we laughed at that part. Anyway he got right on it and called me back with an appointment for me the next day, Saturday. Yea..I was amazed to get an appointment so quick. Thank you Glen. On Saturday 11am in walks Israel Robys. I'm ma tell you I am so very impressed with his experience, service and personality I had to call Israel's manager named Will to praise the excellent service I received and I want him to return for the follow up in a few weeks. He found these tiny tinny holes where mice could enter and showed me the dropping in a few places . He pulled out the stove, went in cabinets, closets, utility room in the basement,. Bottom line he was just plain all over my house and filled in each hole or crack with posion and even suggested how each hole should be repaired. Review: 8/22/2017 We have detected our bed bug problem immediately after seeing them. We have a few right now (from what we can tell) and we informed our landlord last week of the problem. Come to find out, now we have to wait till Friday for them to come and INSPECT (THAT'S RIGHT, FRIDAY!) to them to see if we have bud bugs (WHICH WE DO). The bed bugs we have found are currently in nymph stages and since we killed the adults that we could find in the room, we have not found any more adults. Why a 1 star review? Because this is an EMERGENCY situation because we have a baby and another one on the way (and we have a dog as well), and they're taking their sweet time (Quite literally, almost 2 weeks now and it takes 5 weeks for baby to mature) for them to do anything. We've lost sleep over these little parasitic lifeforms, and we are now wasting more time because of this. So from what I understand they do an an inspection, and then they expect YOU to get the apartment ready for pesticide treatment, something that BED BUGS can be highly resistant to. Where's the most effective option, heat kills? That's what works instantly isn't it? The fact that they haven't written anything to customers here shows their level of attention to our issues too. 5 weeks to mature, and the babies we have found are young nymphs in early stages (That we of course kill). To anyone reading this, 99% alcohol helps (if sprayed on them and eggs), they die on sight and kill bed bug eggs before they hatch (if found and directly sprayed on). I wouldn't trust MetroPest to do much other than do things slowly, which isn't what we want. After inspection comes the initial treatment, and then after that initial treatment we got to wait 3 weeks for the next treatment (which according to their site, its our responsibility to call them to make it, not the other way around after initial treatment), that isn't right. I'll keep updating my situation here as it continues. Update 8/24/2017 Today was the inspection. What happened? The guy came and only "inspected" one room. I say "inspected" with quotes because he really didn't inspect. He saw and confirm the baby bed bugs that were captured in a bottle. He said that if there's baby ones, then it means that we have an infestation. So he gave us a checklist on how to get the apartment ready, because the whole apartment has to be ready: black plastic bags for clothes sealed, the dog has to be out for 4 hours, if anyone is pregnant they have to be out for at least 24-48 hours, including any baby in the home, etc. He didn't really check for bed bugs anywhere honesty, he simply saw what we showed them and that's it which I find to be unprofessional because you would still have to check where they're nesting if its not on the bed, and be as informative as possible (BUT NO WE GET A CHECKLIST), I even asked if he was going to check the rest of the apartment and he said no because its confirmed that the bugs are in the apartment due to what we showed him. So okay, no problem. Now we have to get the apartment ready for an extermination via pesticides which they're highly resistant to. Update 9/18/2017: Wow, it took this long. That it did. Nearly a month for the first bed bug treatment. Throughout these weeks of waiting, and sleepless nights, we have had the "pleasure" (not really) of sleeping next to these pests. Having them suck on our blood, making us itchy, and having all sorts of reactions to their bites on our skins, and it took METRO PEST CONTROL nearly a WHOLE MONTH to come to the first treatment. I guess what they advertise on their website is false? This is what they say, "Fast Response Times Including Same Day Emergency Service Call 866-600-2127 today to schedule your service call" Their response times isn't fast. They do NOT have same day EMERGENCY SERVICE. And they're apparently "always booked". They've been servicing the New York area since 1977, and yet they haven't updated to the most EFFECTIVE and EFFICIENT way of combating bed bugs which is HEAT TREATMENT, which instantly removes the problem, instead of pesticides that can be harmful not only to the environment, but to the people or animals in the household. I'll update the review again shortly once I have an update. When I first submitted this review, I submitted a ticket to 311. I urge everyone that's going through this situation not to stay silent and inform the city of the problem. The landlord is mandated by New York law to have a apartment/unit bed bug free within 30 days. They are professional and very knowledgeable. In particular, Angela is a real gem. She's patient and answers as many questions and concerns that we have. Metro Pest Control treats the 9 story pre-war apartment building in which I live, on a monthly basis. Up until a few weeks ago, I had seen a roach in my apartment once in the four years I have been living here. Then, after the September treatment, I saw three small cockroaches. I called Metro Pest Control to come back and check the place, and the inspector barely looked in the spots where I'd found them, and proclaimed there was no problem, so I relaxed. Since then, I've seen them in three other spots. Because the inspector was so cavalier and un-thorough (for instance, he did not leave me with a report, or any other contact information, even though I own the unit), and barely spoke to me while he was here, I am hiring another inspector to fix Metro's failings. Nothing bothers me more than service providers who don't approach my appointment with care. I am going to try to get the building to cancel the contract. read more

Metro services my building. I have never had an issue with them. Last December, the dreaded bed bug problem hit our home. It was the worse timing since it was during Christmas school break and we were not in a festive mood at all as a result. My contact person, Gladys was an absolute life saver. She provided me with a list I needed to do to prepare to have the apartment treated. It was a long list but we followed it exactly to the tee. Metro knows what they are talking about: follow their recommendations. Gladys was very kind and never made me feel that I was a nuisance. I was literally calling her everyday with all sorts of questions. She was wonderful. The technicians that did my apartment the first application were Juan and Harlem and they were very thorough. I can't say the same for the next application; those technicians sprayed my walls which resulted in my paint job being ruined. Metro did accept responsibility and rectified the problem to my satisfaction. I initially gave Metro 4 stars because of the mishap with ruining the paint in my apartment but in all fairness I gave them 5 stars because the bed bugs are gone thank God and they took swift action when they messed up. I recommend Metro completely. I hope no one ever goes through the bed bug craziness but if you do Metro is who you need to call. read more

Metro King is a rip off. Please don't ever use this company. Please. Called them in for a bed bug treatment ( called firstly and got a quote) they came and sprayed. The techinician was a nice guy. Got a warranty for 2 months. After two weeks the bugs problems are still there called again to use the warranty.was told that the bugs took 2 weeks to be gone. I explained that no they didn't die or gone they are still here. Same techininan came again on a scheduled appointment - showed up 4 hours and 3 phone calls on the appointment date - did some spraying again and left - 2 weeks after bugs are still here . Called them again another idiot came took 5 mins to spray 5 rooms living too. Dinning room etc and left 3 weeks after buys are still here seems as if they are multipling. Called again last week got the owner of the company ( a guy) who told me that he is out of office and will call when he gets in- 2 phone calls and a week later I am still waiting on a response. Whatever this company is using ( maybe sugar water or oil based water ) is not effective. They are fraudertser and my next step is to take them to global news to expose them and have everyone sees them for who they are read more

$600 down the drain. I should have known from the other low reviews, but our landlord has a contract with them for roaches, etc., so we trusted her judgement. Mistake. What a nightmare this company is! Our issue was with bed bug treatment. Their customer service is dreadful, their exterminators are sloppy, and they flat out lied to us more than once. The inspection was fine - they came quickly, confirmed that we did indeed have bed bugs, and gave us a list of preparations to make before they came to treat the apartment, and told us to call when we were ready. However, after a couple of days, they called us to schedule the first treatment (they treat a minimum of two times). We missed the call but called them back quickly and tried to make the appointment for the following week, since we weren't quite ready. The lady on the phone told us that they would not schedule a treatment until we were completely ready (then why were they calling us?), but that once we were ready they'd get us an emergency appointment. Naturally, we took this to mean that the appointment would be within a few days from the time we called. First lie. When the apartment was prepped, we called them again, gave a couple of days that would work with our schedules, and they said they would confirm and call us back. When they called back, the best they could do was a full week away. How many eggs do bed bugs lay in a week? Quite a lot. Meanwhile we're covered in itchy welts. If it was going to be a full week from the day they let us make the appointment, why didn't they let us make it further in advance so that we wouldn't have to wait for the bed bugs to multiply? That's "their policy." When the exterminators came, they were friendly but sloppy. We had to point out areas of the apartment that they'd missed spraying, and we noticed more after they left. Of course they're not going to know every nook and cranny of our apartment, but they didn't bother to spray the blinds on the windows. When we pointed it out, their reaction was "Oh, yeah, we should spray those." Shouldn't that be routine for them? We also had to point out that there were blinds in more than one room. The second treatment was much the same, though we watched them more closely and pointed out the areas they'd missed the first time. They told us that there would be no more bugs. Second lie. They also told us that they had a three month warranty, so to call them if we did have any problems. (Third lie, but we'll get to that in a moment.) The bites stopped for a couple of weeks, then came back - though not nearly as many, so we figured at least the treatment was working, if not as well as we'd hoped. We managed to schedule a third treatment with no problems, and they came and sprayed again. As usual, had to remind them to spray a couple of things. They told us that they were using the strongest possible chemicals this time. This time? Why didn't they use the strong chemicals to begin with? These are bed bugs! They're quite possibly the worst infestation you can get, even harder to get rid of than cockroaches, and they weren't even bothering to fight them properly? This time we went three weeks without any bites, then they started again. So we called them, thinking we were still within our three month warranty. Not so. Apparently, they do not have a three month warranty. (Third lie.) It's 60 days, starting from the date of your first treatment. When we asked why we were told it was three months (and not informed of this until the second treatment, so we though it started then), we got a pretty rude "I'm sorry you were misinformed." Basically, they wanted another $600 before they'd do their job properly (or, more likely, just as sloppily as the first few times). Unfortunately, all communication was over the phone or in person, so we had nothing in writing. We're taking our money elsewhere. My landlord fixed for Meto Pest (which treats my building for cockroaches) to come out and inspect my apartment for bed bugs after I had suspicion. At the time of Meto Pest's arrival, I had a very mild infestation. Upon arrival, Meto Pest didn't find anything, but did pick something off the mattress that was identified as a casing. Subsequently, I did my research and found out that this company is worthless and useless. Contemplating my options with the little time I had, I was called upon by Meto Pest and convinced to schedule a visit. The due diligence checked out on the phone. My landlord was flipping the bill also, so I thought why not give them a shot. Wrong decision! Meto Pest sent George and his accomplice. If you ever use this company, only one of their technicians (George, the overweight lazy Hispanic fellow in his 40s) is licensed to treat the apartment. Coincidentally, Meto Pest only has one licensed technician. It's George. George didn't do much during the first visit except maybe sprinkle something out of his B&G sprayer for a minute or two. His accomplice did most of the work, which I must add, was very inefficient. Let's just say anyone could have done a better job. They drilled holes to dust the walls and sprayed Transport Mikron all over the apartment. Again, anyone could have done a better job. When I originally spoke on the phone with Meto Pest, they promised me that many more chemicals would be used, but George assured me that Transport Mikron "was the best". The bites stopped for a week thereafter, but came back with a vengeance a week and a half later. Before scheduling a follow-up treatment, I complained and requested that they not send George. Long and behold, when time for my send visit came - who did I see standing at my door???? GEORGE! During the follow-up again, minimal spraying was done and the critters came back three days later this time. Subsequently, I figured it was time for me to open up my own wallet or the problem would never go away with Metro Pest at the helm. I am convinced all positive reviews on here are Metro Pest attempting to boost their rating. Don't be foolish and naive. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T USE THEM. EVEN IF YOU ARE A LANDLORD OR YOUR LANDLORD FIXED YOU UP. read more

I have a nine months old baby that was constantly getting bites and I could not find any bugs in her room. I would find the bites after she woke up in the morning and so I was determined that they were bed bugs. That's when my nightmare began. I spent numerous hours researching bedbugs and what to do about them. I called a few companies and someone came with a dog and said baby's room was positive for bedbugs. I went crazy after that. I was panicing so much and after speaking to another company purchased 100 bottles of alcohol and sprayed my entire house almost everyday for two weeks in hope of getting rid of bed bugs. BUT my baby was still getting bitten. Eventhough I could not afford it, I decided to hire an exterminator to come and do spray which is very costly. Forget about having to bag everything. It was a NIGHTMARE. The day before I was going to empty the whole house for the exterminator to come I decided to call one more company to make sure becaue I had never seen any of the signs of bed bugs or the actual bedbugs themselves. I had basically trusted a dog and few other inspectors. I was really lucky that I called METRO. They right away sent GREGORY to my house for a FREE inspection and he right away told me that there is absoloutly no sign of bed bugs and that there were some little spiders under crib which he thought were the ones bitting my baby. He said I definetly do not have bed bugs and that I should just vacuum under the crib everyday. That is exactly what I did and it has been over two weeks and my baby has not have any bites since the day Gregory came to our house. I am so grateful to him for being so honest and when other companies were looking to charge me a few thousand dollars, Gregory assured us we don't have a problem. I highly recommend this company. They are very honest and are not trying to take your money. Honset caring people.
