Absolutely awful for being on time. Consistently giving estimated arrival times and not meeting the time provided. My parent had to be stretcher transported from the hospital to a SNF. It was an afternoon transport. Every hour, starting at 2pm, they kept changing the time. It was eventually cancelled and moved to the next morning. Pickup was supposed to be 8am. Still waiting. No update. Horrible service. UPDATE: Ended up getting private pay transport from another company. Metro kept rescheduling. Didn't want my parent having to stay another night at the hospital because this company can't get their act together. read more

I work at an assisted living facility. I ride with one of the clients to the Portland V.A. about once a month . I have gone three times , so far. It is approximately a two hour ride , each way. Different driver coming and going. Without exception , every driver has been nice , professional and interesting people! WITHOUT EXCEPTION!!! They genuinely cared about getting the client loaded and making sure they were comfortable. They all were aware and capable drivers , to the point you could just relax and enjoy the ride. the transport people placed my bed bound mom in a lift chair that was not put together completely since I just bought it and was waiting on more elderly equipment such as a lift, when they brought her home by stretcher. I told them I wasn't done with it but they did not listen and placed her in it. they then used the transfer sheet to pull her up and while one of the employees was trying to have me sign the tablet in his hand as I was attempting to ask how I was going to move her from the chair to her hospital bed once they left the other one kneed the back of the Litft chair to move it to face the Tv. that caused it to come undone completely and she slammed her head against the was fell onto the cement floor her back. they then used the transfer sheet to get her to her bed and started to leave they would not take her to the hospital and still wanted a signature. my mom was in a folly catheter that tore something on her inside when she fell to the floor and ahe has lost the ability to talk or move any part of her body and is in contestant pain and is entering the active dying stage of life. she was in recovery from a fractured arm prior to that. read more

Hate this company so much. My mom is in a wheelchair and we are in a split level house. Metro West is the only transport place that will carry wheelchair patients down stairs. We have missed 8 heart appointments because they never show. Even after prepaying and scheduling months in advance. Now they say to call the day before only, and MAYBE they will make room but somehow they are already booked. How are they already booked when they won't schedule until the day before??? They claim they have contracted work so they do that first. OK, well then only do that and don't even advertise that you supposedly do public transports. I have to cancel my mom's appointment for tomorrow now because of them. Someone needs to start a company that does wheelchair transport with stairs so we can get rid of metro West. I called this place three days in advance to schedule a pick up. The driver was 1 hour and 15 minutes late. They never called to let us know that they were gonna be late. No excuse or reason why either. Thus, the driver was too late and we had to cancel our dinner reservation. Glad we did not schedule a doctors appointment because we never would have made it on tome. Very unprofessional if you ask me. They are really a expensive too. $40 bucks to pick up and drop off. Then another $40 to pick up and bring back home. Plus, $3.65 per mile and another $15 bucks for dropping off after 8pm. Total cost for a 11 mile round trip ride was $153.20. Thank god Tiffany in billing refunded my money with no questions asked. I will think long and hard before using this companies services again. But, there is really not a lot of services like this who will do a wheelchair transportation. I might have to open my own business doing this as I can see a need for a good one here in town. read more

I was a victim of assault in a home invasion. I received a bill and had thought it was taken care of. The date of service was in 10/2022. I never heard another word. Then I get a debt collection notice issued on 04/18/2023. They claim to have made a call to me on 02/02/2023; no such call received by me. They made no other attempts by phone or letter. I was also in the hospital as an inpatient at that time. This is not customer service. It is unethical and immoral. read more

I never receive any e-mails nor mail about my monthly payments and remaining balance, which would be really great to have. The pricing is absurd for the service they give. If I could do Zero I would, absolutely a joke the system they have for hardship. I was hospitalized 6-7 times for epileptic related seizures, I was billed over $3000 dollars for me trips by Metro West. I applied for hardship as I am a young man trying to make a living working 60 hours a week to pay the bills. I file all the papers to get 15% off , I skip lunches and have to barrow money just to pay rent and live. I call in to discuss my options and see what else I could do , I was greeted with the most insensitive representative of all time. She wouldn't hear me out, complained I talked over her and said I was repeating myself when talking about how I was working. Extremely disrespectful to someone who is working hard to contribute and try and make something with his life. The 60 hours affects me not her. The people there don't care they just want your money. My reasoning was that I spent too much eating out, which is all from my family sending me money to eat. They also took prior purchases from over 6+ months and used that against me to say I make plenty. 6 months ago I lived in a whole different situation. I would not recommend any of there services and would decline an ambulance assistance if asked. I would rather walk to the hospital then be treated by these people defending an absolutely broken system. read more

This service is beyond poor. My mother was scheduled for a pickup at Kaiser. She was left sitting outside waiting for 3 hours. After this time Kaiser called a taxi to have her picked up and taken home. I have tried calling them repeatedly to launch a complaint but always directed to a voicemail and no calls back. Would you like different answers to the same questions? Then by all means call Metro West. We are just starting out with setting up medical transportation. We have called 3 times and asked what needs to be supplied from the doctor. First answer was "A letter from your doctor" and it was given by a friendly woman. The second answer was, "A form from your doctor that the doctor will be supplying" and it was given by a snide woman who in no way should be assisting customers. In the mean time I did get a doctor's letter. I was just about to take it to Metro West in person. I called to get the address. I was then informed that Metro West supplies the form and it must be filled out by the doctor. My letter will not work. Thank you for making my last 3 days a complete waste of time. Please don't use metro west transportation. I had a 94 year old patient that had a scheduled pick up at 2, my front office staff kept calling them to ask when they were coming. They always answered with 10 minutes or they wouldn't give an answer at all. Finally 3 and a half hours later and 30 minutes past our clinic close time they decided to show up. All my front office staff had left and one of the supervisors had to come and sit in the front with the poor patient that was clearly upset and crying about the situation, the other MA and myself tried to make her feel as comfortable as possible while waiting. And to mention when the lady was picking her up she chuckled and said "were a little late aren't we?" That is not something you joke about but that patient let them HAVE it. This service is used often to transport patients to and from our office for appointments. I've never encountered such a disorganized and disrespectful company. They are constantly late both in dropping people off and then picking them up. We've even had return rides show up to pick up patients and take them home before their pickup ride had even shown up to drop them off yet. We are a dental business we try to accommodate all our patients. But when Metro West consistently gets our patients here 30-60 minutes late we can't help them. We have to send them home as we have other patients to see whose time is just as important. It's sad because it's not the patients fault but the driver for Metro West, but there is only so much we can do. Don't even get me started on pickup times. If they actually get the patient here it can be HOURS before they can return to get them. 3-4 hours or more a patient will have to wait in our lobby. Some of these are medically fragile patients that are now missing meals and medication schedules. It's often not unusual for our office staff to wait around long after the office is closed so our patients don't have to be alone on the street corner waiting for a ride. Our office closes at 4:30pm and I think the latest I've had to wait here is 8am. It's to the point that we no longer allow our transportation patients that use Metro West to schedule appointments passed 2:00pm otherwise we'll more than likely be waiting here until closing or after hours for their ride to show up. If you are a medical facility and are looking for a company to transport your clients, do NOT use Metro West. I can't stress this enough. read more

I've used them twice now to transport my wheelchair bound mother to and from doctor appointments. The best thing I can say about this company is that they didn't lose my mother...I do not intend on giving them a 3rd shot at it. The first time they were an hour late to the scheduled pickup (following the appointment). The second time they were 45 minutes late. I was able to pass the time in the hospital lobby by calling dispatch and getting a myriad of excuses as to why they were late. If you're into long waits and lots of excuses give Metro West a call. read more

I experienced a flat out dangerous ambulance ride with Metro West. I am an elderly male with end stage heart failure, Diabetes and Cancer. My wife called 911 because I was having crushing chest pain, trouble breathing and non-stop vomiting. The arriving paramedic showed no signs of concern or urgency, casually asking me 20 questions while I writhed in pain..During the sloowww 23 minute ride to the hospital, I had no open port or IV to access should my heart stop, which has happened to me before with NO warning. I was left helpless, in horrific pain, and NO attempt was made to make me comfortable. My paramedic then sums it up for me. "You don't get anything for pain because you don't have an IV. (even though we also have oral drugs available that I'm not going to tell you about, because you're in a bad mood). Additionally, I've made the decision that you are not in pain." I was admitted to the hospital with serious issues. Metro West management is typical corporate America. The paramedic's actions were considered okay because the notes say I was in a bad mood when they arrived. I guess I deserve to be tortured, eh? I was also told that paramedics don't want people to get addicted to IV Fentanyl. (?) From one shot? Management offered to waive my $250 deductable if I drop my BBB claim and probably, a future lawsuit, as well as a complaint to the medical watchdogs in the capitol. An insulting offer considering what I endured while in their 'care.'. Ride with Metro West at your own peril. read more

Metro West sucked. I will never use them and will never recommend them. We needed their services on in early April of 2019 and had no problems until the billing. We paid as soon as the bill came in the mail and then later learned they had a billing problem and we were due a refund. I started calling in September of 2019 and was told by someone in the business office it was under review. I called again in November, December, January, February, March getting the same answer every time and finally April 24th we receive our refund. Over 1 year from the day of their services. I also work at a clinic and have seen multiple patients not picked up or abandoned. Unfortunately they are contracted with medical transport for many patients so they have no choice and it appears the higher the patient need, the worse the service. They outright lie of where they are and when they are coming. They blame the patient for having high needs. They are unprofessional, at best indifferent and at worst hostile to vulnerable parole who rely on them for help. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

Terrible. Our son needed transported from a 35 day ICU stay at doernbechers to inpatient rehab at Randall children's hospital. We were scheduled for transport at 930am. At 10 our nurse called metro West and was told 15-20 more minutes. She called every 20 minutes for the next hour. At 11 she was told the driver arrived. At 1130 she called again and was told once more 15-20 more minutes. Another child was arriving by life flight and needed our room so the doctors said you guys can transport yourselves. As we were coming down the hill we saw the metro West transport van so it was a lie that they had ever arrived. I would not suggest this service to anyone. read more

TERRIBLE! These jokers show up when you call 911 whether you asked for an ambulance or not. When you refuse their service they still bill you. This should be illegal. Personally, I've refused to pay them and when they kept calling and sending letters to me, I challenged them to PROVE I asked for their services and/or used their services. They could not, and had to drop the bill. I live in a 55+ building and have seen their EMT's deal with residents here literally dozens of times, and the EMT's are always bossy, pushy, and demanding. My healthcare provider used to use Metro West for basic medical transportation for patients to get to and from their appointments - we no longer use them based on customer complaints about Metro West. AMR (American Medical Response) isn't much better. In Washington County, Oregon we are pretty-much stuck with really bad ambulance service. We deserve better. Everybody deserves better. read more

We scheduled a pick up for our wheelchair restricted 86 year old father for 10AM. We built in enough time for some time margin. Metro West did not show up at 10AM. We called them repeatedly for updates. After our 3 calls to them, an hour late, and after missing our VERY important medical procedure, we cancelled. If Metro West knew they couldn't make the pick up time, the least they could have done is call us to inform us so that we could have possibly found a different transport in time to make the medical appointment. read more

This is truly the worst company I have worked with. On both occasions they lied about the time frame multiple times. They assured us they would arrive at a specific time when I gave them a second chance. Medication that was needed to transport and could only be administered once was given based on them assuring us they would be on time. I am from a provider's office and am sick and tired of seeing all patients waiting hours on end to be picked up from an appointment. I understand traffic, and delays, however this is an on going issue that MetroWest seems to be having. Today I witnessed a pt waiting for his transportation ride that was scheduled at 10:45 IN THE MORNING, and he did not get picked up until 2:50 IN THE AFTERNOON. Keep in mind, while calling and checking on updates to get a time frame they informed us 45 mins, 10 mins, 1 hour, on they are on they're way. As being a professional in the healthcare field, this is BEYOND terrible patient customer service for our patients, especially the ones that are dependent on other people to get them to go to the bathroom, switch positions, etc. I feel as they really need to get a better system to provide better care for our patients! read more

SO NOT HAPPY! Today Metro West was scheduled to pick up my 93 year old father with a broken hip to go to his follow up dr appt. Metro West was 30 minutes late picking him up at the rehab place he's staying at. I'm at the drs office for 20 minutes waiting for him to show up. I finally call him and ask him where he's at. He said he hadn't been picked up yet. WTF?? At this point he's going to miss his drs appt. Fortunately the dr said they would still be able to see him. Metro West was scheduled to pick him up afterwards to take him back. Guess how long we waited?!? 1 HOUR AND 5 MINUTES! With repeated calls on where the HELL they were at. The guy shows up and said he was in another town 40 minutes away! WTF?!? Scheduling problems maybe?? No one closer?? Who does that to a 93 old guy with a broken hip! read more

The worst transportation company around, over priced and not on time. My wife had a pre- scheduled (1 week) appointment for a doctors appt. from a care center, they were 1 1/2 hours late, the driver claims he got dispatched 10 minutes prior to picking her up. Luckily the care center was in close contact with the doctor's office so they could hold her appointment open. Getting back wasn't as bad, very disorganized and over priced, I'm shocked the State hasn't shut them down yet. I strongly recommend not using this company. read more

The drivers are very nice, their administration is lacking in customer service skills though. I am a tall man in a wheel chair, leg rests are not usable for me since it places my knees too high to be driven anyplace with comfort. The fact that a policy that they write for themselves, not a state, federal, or local law, cant be bent by them. I feel that they have no real idea of how this affects a patient needing the transportation. It raises blood pressure, blood sugar levels and stress and anxiety. I would suggest that if you only need basic care they may be ok, but any kind of one on one type care is not within this companies upper managements grasp. From dispatchers up to managers, there is a complete disconnect and a level of disrespect I can not put into words. I will be refusing any further contact and help from Metro West unless it is literally my only choice, and then I will only be able to rely on the drivers to be the caring individuals I have been able to work with. read more

This company should have its license for medical transport revoked: a scheduled 3:15 pm pick-up for a wheelchair van ride from an MD office back to the skilled nursing home for my 90-year-old mother was not completed until 5:30 pm. Every 15-20 minutes, I spoke to one person after another, including supervisors, dispatchers and office workers, who apologized with practiced skill, and fed me misinformation about the assigned driver and ETA. Two hours and 15 minutes my mom sat aching in that wheelchair, needing her medications, to lie down, to go to the potty. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!! You risk putting your loved ones thru a hellish experience from which there is no escape. Try Radio Cab or Broadway Cab instead, far less expensive and could not provide worse service if they tried. read more

Marquis Rehab in Wilsonville contacted Metro West for a medical transport for my mother-in-law, we were not allowed to transport her in a personal vehicle. We waited 3 hours for them to show up. They transported her from Wilsonville to Meridian Park in Tualatin, about 6 miles. They managed to bill her insurance, but then sent the follow up bills to the rehab facility, Marquis in Wilsonville. They never once mailed a bill to her address. They called her cell phone and claim they left a message, which they may have, but she is not tech savvy and never has answered a voicemail and rarely uses her cell; the battery is almost always dead. No excuse, just a fact of many elderly people, especially those with ill health. During that time she had several emergency transport services provided by AMR and we received their bills and paid them. We did not realize that the transport company was different (who takes the time to write down the ambulance company name when you are in an already stressful situation) and did not even think there were other outstanding bills due since we never received any in the mail. They say her Co-Pay is $250 (seems like a lot for a 6 mile ride and insurance paid their portion and is $75 more than AMR for similar services) and since she never responded to their voicemail and they never received return mail, they turned it over to collections. Who does this? Why not call Marquis and get a good address? Lazy bookkeeping practices. I don't dispute the bill and will pay it, I dispute their lack of common sense and lazy bookkeeping practices that caused this. Total BS. Too bad for them that they didn't make a 5 minute call to Marquis, now they have to give the collections company their cut, stupid on their part. We will NEVER use their services again. read more

My experience w/Metro West was my first/worst and only experience with medical transportation. Next time (depending on severity) I would seriously consider other methods (either public transportation or taxi). I was just coming out of having a seizure and I made the mistake of flagging them down. I was treated like raw meat, they put me on a gurney strapped me down and threw the gurney in the back of the vehicle. I was told the nearest hosp. was full so they took me to one across the Willamette I believe. Since I knew it was going to be a long ride I thought I'd close my eyes & take a nap. While my eyes were closed my right arm was unstrapped from the gurney and an employee was pressing an electronic clipboard into my neck and told me to 'sign this'. I replied 'I'm trying to read it'. He replied 'just sign it' (Whoa, isn't that duress). When I asked what it was he replied 'just like UPS', I replied 'with UPS I usually get something' and I made the mistake of signing it w/o being given a chance to read it. Sure glad when that long trip came to an end. I've also noticed that nobody has claimed this business. Probably because they don't take responsibility for their own actions. read more

I hope I never have to use this service again. It wasn't the actual ambulance service that is so bad, it is the office services that are horrible. My insurance company paid immediately the for the service I received in May, 2014. I paid my share immediately upon receipt of a bill from Metro West. I then submitted to AFLAC to reimburse me for the benefit that they cover in my behalf.. They also paid $100 to Metro West because I guess OR has a law that says insurance MUST pay the ambulance and not the patient (even though I had already paid them). It is now 6 months later and after 2 phone calls to Metro West that I finally get a refund of the $100 that was overpaid to them. Both times I called they assured me that I would promptly be sent a check for the over payment. That was 2 and 3 months ago. read more
