There is also a small restaurant, Arch City Deli, inside that offers a small selection of food and drinks. Most of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. One advantage of this location is that it's just a short walk to Union Station, which offers several attractions, and restaurants, if you're looking for a way to pass the time before your trip. Overall, it's a functional transportation hub that serves its purpose, though it could benefit from improved cleanliness.

Saint Louis is about as close as you can get - the station is right across the street from New Busch. Great signage and plenty of space for big crowds coming and going. Vending machines for tickets and it's easy to know which way to go. I think they run extra trains on game day. It's not hard to follow all the red jerseys into the ballpark. Enjoy the game! This is not just a train ride but an adventure. The train is a very economical way to get around…read morethe city. Especially if you get a day pass or combo bus pass. It is easy to get to and is on the honor system. This station has a kiosk at the top of the stairs that you purchase your fare from. Only ticketed passengers are supposed to be on the train platform, but I did not see that being enforced or checked. They do have some security people walking around the station on occasion, but they really kept to themselves. This station lets off right at Busch Stadium. Gateway Arch Park and the Old Courthouse is within walking distance of the station. Luckily, I was here while the Cardinals were on the road. I can imagine that this place gets crazy on game days due to its sheer convenience. Now the bad. While on the train, I saw a fight, someone smoking (I do not know what they were smoking), someone playing loud music from their phone, and someone drinking alcohol. It was wild. Anyway, the train was pretty close to its scheduled time and was relatively clean, all things considered. Would I ride this train again...Yes, you can not beat riding all around town for $5 for a day. I would just caution you that you will more than likely encounter some shady characters on the train and at the station, so just beware.

Bathrooms were nasty and smelled like porta potty's. There is a food cart up front where you can purchase food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages). There were also outlets by your seats in case you need to plug anything in. WiFi was offered too. There was no security or checking of luggage which kind of surprised me. Also Alton has a brand new train depot. It's very nice.

East Riverfront may shorten my total travel time to/from St. Louis a bit, when I'm just trying to get to a game and avoid downtown parking. But, if I'm going to pay, then I'd rather get a little more of a ride. Often, there's a real live person to sell you a ticket. It was clean, moderately efficient and no one bothered us. I say moderate because the Blue Line was down for maintenance and this put a sort of kink in our plans to get to St. Louis.
