A group of 5 of us chose Metropolitan Grill for our monthly lunch get together. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server, TJ was prompt and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The bacon on my sandwich came out almost raw and he quickly brought out new, more cooked, bacon. All of us enjoyed our lunch very much. The restaurant is bright and airy. They have a great patio area that would be perfect for warmer weather. The only downside of our visit was that our table was never cleared even though we had already boxed our leftovers and paid our checks. There were only a few other tables seated so I'm not sure why that happened. I will definitely be going back because they have so many favorites on the menu. read more

We arrived for a late 1:30 lunch and I enjoyed a huge Cobb salad with generous amounts of Gorgonzola, bacon, tomatoes, and chicken, and a hardboiled egg and lots of fresh romaine. It was super filling and I couldn't eat it all. But that may have been because as an appetizer I had a Texas Twinkie that was absolutely divine! I was so excited to try it that I forgot to take a picture! It's a bacon-wrapped, cream cheese-filled jalapeno drizzled with bbq sauce. I especially loved that the jalapeno retained some crunch. My hubby really enjoyed them as well and was blessed with another one on top of his burger! Happy hour starts at 2 and goes until 6 and has an extensive drink and food selection. Went during happy hour and it was great! Thought I knew what I'd order but the order changed. The day of the week special was a Friday green chili philly and fries with a beer for $16. It was amazing and a lot of food. For the HR food: perfectly cooked brussel sprouts $7.50, loaded nachos $7, and great pork carnitas tacos. One on a flour tortilla $4.50, and one on a corn tortilla $4.50. A little more filling on flour one, probably because the tortilla was bigger. Both had juicy pork, green chili, onion, cliantro. They were plentiful and satisfying. Definitely on the "Go Back Again" list. Can't wait to try reg menu. It was clean and the staff were nice. Liz took good care of us. I've been to the Metro Grill several times and the food is always great. Bar food is very underrated as a category - this pretty much in that category and does it very well Tonight I had their carnitas tacos. These were simple - wonderfully spiced pork carnitas,onion, and an excellent chili Verde on a flour tortilla that seemed house-made - thin, light, and fresh. FAST review Food: Fantastic! We had looked at the menu prior but saw the special Friday deal Philly Cheese & Draft for $15. I got the green chilly and my wife the original. We also both got an IPA. We are in town for a couple of months and this place on our short list of repeat dining. Before I get to the food, let's talk about the service. I watched other waitstaff and it seems consistent with our waitress of choice, Trish. She makes you feel completely at home and was incredibly helpful as we struggled to pick from the menu. Front desk of my hotel suggested this place because they had left some flyers and coupons for the hotel to give away (smart advertising move). I ordered the metropolitan burger cooked medium with fries. The burger came out medium with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, American cheese, fried onion rings, Chipotle sauce and a BBQ sauce. There was alot to eat plus a plate full of seasoned fries. Everything was fresh and hot. Really my only complaint would be it came with American cheese instead of a better quality cheese. Cheddar would have made it perfect but hey that just a preference on my part and not worth giving this place a lesser rating! So overall, the place is good but not great. Number one I was the staff was fantastic. Sunny was my waitress and was very pleasant and attentive. She went as far as trying a soup that I was in because she didn't know if it was any good. The ambiance is nice but I have to say a little bit dirty especially considering that is really quiet. The area is at just look like it could have used a good vacuuming. The food was above average but not spectacular. Usually four was decent but could have stood more chunk support it was very cut up. The main course was the buttermilk chicken. Mashed potatoes in the green beans were delicious. The green beans are even still crisp which you don't normally get. The chicken itself was very overcooked. Quite dry and overall lacked in seasoning Overall it would come back but it would not probably be my first choice. read more

We learned about this restaurant during Restaurant Week 2024 and stopped by for dinner (without actually for the Restaurant Week menu -- I was intrigued and we just happened to be doing past at dinnertime and stopped today). The Metropolitan is in an upscale strip mall on Dry Creek, near other nice restaurants like Eddie Merlot's. Very welcoming from the moment we arrived. I'd say the mood is neighborhood-nice. You could come on a date and get shrimp risotto (it looked so good!) or a beer with sliders and tacos. Personally, tonight, I had their Tuesday special with really strong margarita and 3 soft tacos for $15. You won't break the bank, you'll be taken great care of by someone like server Brianna (super!) and the host (who may have even been the owner - or at least cared that much for our experience). I think you'll really enjoy the Metropolitan. The hubs and I will be back - soon! I can see why there are so many regulars who live in the condos and apartments nearby, and people who stop by after work. So friendly, with good price/quality equation. This time however, I got the 1/2 sandwich and salad lunch and there was a little black bug in my salad and I didn't notice until halfway through eating. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and never missed a beat with recommendations. She never stayed too long and remembered everything and filled water glasses too. We were very chatty so it after over 2.5 hours we did have to ask for the check but I consider that expected. My friend had wine and I asked for something non-alcoholic (expecting a stuttered "um, soda" response) and she immediately had two choices for me! I loved enjoying the copper mug while my friend enjoyed real wine. We ordered the chili relent square and Brussels sprouts to start. They were small but just right for two people. Happy hour is a single square of puff pastry and not at all spicy. Brussels sprouts were charred, texture was perfect. I ordered the Cobb salad with salmon and it was everything I wanted.
