Hats off to our fabulous server for our family of 8 on 6/4/26! Had an amazing birthday celebration at "My Neighbor Felix" in Centennial, Colorado today with the Fam. In the old Landry's building converted on the interior to a chic yet comfortable atmosphere. There are cozy-up areas with sofas for a spectacular chill happy hour event. The specialty cocktails left me wanting to come back soon to try more of them. They even have a delightful Pino Grigio from Italy which Mom enjoyed! The loaded nachos are not to be missed and the desert mini doughnuts are a fan fav and were so delish! The children's meal came with little delicious churros for her desert. My folks have the tiger prawn tacos and at 92 years old- ate every bit and loved them! My DIL had the burrito and I love the way they cut it in pieces to serve and make it manageable. I had the Market Salad with yummy grilled chicken which was the most wonderful combination of flavors including fresh delicious fruit. I'm a little torn on this place. Their Happy Hour is great. But I despise companies that charge back of house fees and credit card fees. It may seem petty, but it irks me. Ok, back to what you care about, their Happy Hour. For two people we got an Americano Taco, Nachos w/ Chicken, Guacamole, ceviche, and margaritas. The margaritas, for being at a Mexican restaurant, were passable. The mango margarita tasted a little like mango, like a Lacroix version of a mango margarita. This was the least enticing of what we ordered. The Americano Taco was a classic white person taco. Hard shell. Ground beef. Nothing too crazy. It was a taco. The ceviche had delicious plantain chips, which I love, to accompany it and the striped bass. In addition there was pineapple and sweet potato. My problem with the ceviche was that there wasn't a lot of fish in it. The guacamole was well mixed and flavored. Served with potato tortilla chips was nice and they were nice and salty. The best part, the nachos with cochinita pibil were flavorful, filling, and cheesy. TLDR great flavor, slow service. Drinks, appetizers, and dessert all took a while. Ironically the entrees were the only thing that came out pretty speedy. Chips/guac were pretty good, but they didn't give us enough guac to match the serving of chips. They also make their own chips, and she said they're supposed to have a floral note, but tbh I wasn't getting much of that. No big deal. Pescado frito tacos were delicious, but I absolutely hate when restaurants pile the ingredients really high in the center of the taco. I guess they do it for presentation, but it's so impractical, and a pain to eat. I tried spreading it out to the sides, but I shouldn't need to do that in the first place; I should just be able to enjoy my food. Everything was inevitably spilling out, and it just wasn't a great experience. Tres leches cake was great. No gripes there. Here's the lowdown on MNF, whoever Felix is: 1. Get there early! Husband and I went for a very early dinner (3:30) and sat down right away. By the time we were finished, people were waiting for a table. Off times are key. 2. Food was good, creative and unique, Mexican food with a little extra flare. Was it the best Mexican food I've ever had? No but delish nonetheless. (Highly recommend the sopapilla cheesecake!) 3. Cost...everything cost more these days and Felix is no different. It is, however, on the pricer side. But you know that ahead of time and you plan accordingly. Example: 2 drinks, appetizer, 2 dinners and dessert with tip was just over $100. This is my third time giving my Neighbor Felix Centennial a chance! I won't be convinced to try it again. While the service was very good throughout our meal, the food isn't good. We ordered the queso and chips as our appetizer and it wasn't very good. We all tried it and ended up leaving it on the table for the server to take away. MNF is just south of (its sister Lotus Concepts') View House Centennial [or for old-timers, the since 2009 'no-longer' standing TrailDust SteakHouse :) ] This MNF is located in the former Landry's, the upscale inside is open & hip. The HH was busy with a lot of filled tables. The service on the bar was fast & friendly; good staff. The $3 HH tacos were Ok, fair enough. I also found the prices for simple cocktails (not craft) to be on the high side. The added back of the house service fee is also a little bit off-putting. I understand the need to compensate the BoH, but I think the amount should simply be included in the menu prices. read more

Monthly lunch meeting. Lots of parking in shared lot at lunch. Sat in the inner dining area and it was nice and private. Had the lunch special with green chili and pescado frito tacos. It's an additional charge for the tacos versus the other lunch special menu items. The green chili was delicious and the pescado frito tacos tasty. They came on two plates which made it a little tricky to fit with the other ladies' plates around the crowded table. The tacos were messy to eat. Good choice for lunch though. Just the right size serving. They do place a charge for using a credit card to pay and for a large group. I was not happy with the credit card fee as most people use that form of payment. That put me off this place. We may come back as it's a good central location for us. But I'll definitely use cash next time. read more

I came here for the first time with my mom who had actually been here before and I have to say they were pretty dang good! Upon getting there the hostess was nice and we got seated quickly. We came for brunch and we got the Short Rib Birria tacos and the Cochinita Pibil tacos. The birria tacos were so good and I have never had anything like them before! The birria ju they use was so good and the meat was delicious. My moms Cochinita tacos were also fantastic and I loved the little kick they had with the salsa! My second time here and to be honest, I'm disappointed. A small water with no ice and the chicken fajitas were very dry. $44 was a bit much for fajitas for 2 and my expectations were bigger. I did learn that the recipes come from a number of Mexican recipes mainly coastal I believe as pineapple is a core ingredient. We ha a great waitress a she came by often to fill up the tiny glasses. Queso was supposed to be one of the best in Denver area. Dropped a glob of cheese in a cast iron pan with 6 jalapeño slices, a few slices of onion and a small bowl of chips, I'd much prefer a few tortillas with your bland cheese. I don't recommend spending the $14 on it. Now let's talk about the pros. The Arabe tacos are a must try, Delicious! Hosted a mini baby sprinkle here for a friend! We had the corner table on the second floor and the restaurant vibes were great along with the decor/setting. The service was good it was busy and we had someone new working at the restaurant but they did great. It was a bit slow but we were also enjoying ourselves so it was nice. I will say you aren't going to get authentic Mexican food but it's still good! I had the steak fajita and spilt it with a friend since it was for two and it was good. They've had good mention with their tacos that won an award or contest. This isn't just covering tortillas with red sauce and cheese kind of a place. Much more flavor and imagination. It's more modern inside where Landry's used to be. Service was great. Two things weren't so great. Sunday afternoon is only off the brunch menu until 3 pm. Fair warning that it's very loud, so intimate conversations would be difficult. On the plus side, the outdoor patio on the east side of the building (restricted mountain view) looks fun. Fountain and sitting areas with fireplaces would be scenic and unique. We'll go back for sure and hopefully sit outside. I would give it a 3.5. Stopped by after work for some drinks and appetizers, and it wasn't too crowded! The staff was very friendly as well. Since it was my first time, I was surprised that whiskey glass was only 2/3 full. It was just mixed tetequila served over large ice cubes, kinda like old fashioned. Since the menu said margarita, I was expecting something closer but it was totally off. The short rib birria tacos were very meaty and delicious for $19. Pescato Fritto $17 (fish taco) was hard to eat due to corn tortilla kept breaking. This is the restaurant that charges 2.5% back of the house service charge. On top of thatt, another 2% for using the credit card. Good thing they didn't charge another 2% for special taxing district. Add another miminimum 20% for tip and... Wow. Food was ok. Brunch time! My 4 girlfriends and I came in on Saturday morning for the holiday pop-up, Felix Navidad. The entire restaurant is decorated festively with a menu of seasonal holiday drinks. We sat ourselves at one of the big couch lounges near the bar. We were greeted quickly and drink orders were placed. For food we started with salsa, guacamole and queso. For entrees we ordered breakfast tacos, Chilaquiles Divorciados, short rib birria tacos, tacos and beyond and their specialty, the Arabe. No complains on any of the items. 3 rounds of margaritas and two shots, we were stuffed and happy. Food, drinks, tip = $550. The service was great. We were seated on the second floor - I would highly recommend this for every visit. I never realized this was such a popular spot. They have lots of seating but it seems like it's busy quite often even on a Wednesday evening. The staff is friendly and nice. Service works pretty quick. It can get quite loud in the restaurant because there's a lot of conversation, celebration, and music so maybe not a great first date place if that's what you're looking for. The mule was a lot stronger than I was expecting so not my cup of tea. However, I highly recommend the birrira tacos. The beef is cooked very tender and soft. There's a lot of flavor behind it. The restaurant was super loud with early 2000s pop music blasting through the speakers and very loud seating area. We were seated in the bar area at a high top table despite having reservations. The bar area had a lot of loud talking and nothing to dampen it. The decor is kind of weird, with random neon lights, those old-timey lightbulbs hanging in geometric fixtures, and a fake plant wall that looks like an influencer wall for instagram photos. The Food: The guacamole looked promising with those cool purple chips, but it needed salt. It was close to being great but fell short due to the bland seasoning. My drink was a sweet margarita with a sugar rim. It was pretty good. The fajitas for two were a major disappointment. Everything tasted weirdly bitter, with a burnt flavor that wasn't the good kind of char. The tortillas were just okay - they were bigger than street tacos, but nothing special. The accompanying salsas were ok, certainly not worth $50 for the amount of protein and veggies. Service: The service was slow. We had to ask for a few things multiple times. The staff interactions were nice and friendly. The restaurant is laid out almost exactly like the old Landry's seafood restaurant, with nearly identical outdated tiles and stall in the bathrooms. Husband and I came here for dinner on a Wednesday. It was really busy and the parking lot isn't super big, so it was a bit of a challenge finding a spot. We had a reservation but they seemed to be running a bit behind, but we didn't mind too much. They've got a great cocktail menu, but unfortunately not a lot of them can be made as mocktails. I got a virgin mojito, though, and it was pretty good. My husband loved his spicy margarita. We started off with flautas which were delicious.
