Excellent restaurant at the Hyatt Regency - I ate here one night during my stay this week. The restaurant has a nice vibe. I sat at the bar but decided to only have water while I looked at the menu. The pork green chili soup stood out as something unusual, and when I ordered it, there was a chorus of approvals from both the bartender and the server! The soup was delicious - flavorful pork in a thick green chili broth with cheddar cheese - and served with warm flour tortillas (they even brought me extras!). I polished off my bowl to the last morsel. Bill was only $11 (before tax and tip) so a great value as well. Thank you, Root 25, for a memorable dining experience. read more

Wonderful hotel restaurant. During my trip, I ate breakfast and dinner at this hotel. They have highchairs and booster chairs for those with younger kiddos/babies. Servers provide coloring sheets and crayons as well. For breakfast, you can either order a la carte or do a nice breakfast buffet which is a great value at just $24/pp. My daughter is almost 3 and they didn't charge me for her breakfast meal, which was a nice surprise. To be honest, she would barely eat enough to even make a dent, so this was very appreciated. Breakfast buffet has scrambled eggs, another premade egg omelette dish, breakfast sausage, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal with toppings, pancakes, french toast, assorted pastries, assorted cereals, assorted fruit and cheese, salamis, assorted breads, bagels and fixings. For dinner, they have a kids menu (pasta with butter/parm, kids burger, chicken tenders) as well as a nice menu for adults. We tried the fish and chips, burger, a chicken dish, and salmon between the 2 nights we dined here. Even though there are no other options at the hotel for restaurants, I think this one does a great job. Definitely recommend it as an option during your stay there. read more

I visited Root 25 for lunch during a conference. I was looking forward to their lunch menu, only to learn that all they had was a buffet. The buffet was a "taco bar" except there was only one type of meat that wasn't labeled. When I asked what it was, I was told "taco meat" but "not beef". It was definitely beef, and it tasted adequate. There weren't a lot of options for toppings. It cost $23. Overall, I cannot recommend this place for lunch. The entire experience was pretty sub par. Now the bar at night was a great time. They made excellent drinks and had a pretty good beer selection. I'd love to add a couple stars for that, but I struggle with them calling themselves a tap house when they had NOTHING ON TAP. That's right. Their taps were ALL BROKEN. Again, we had good cocktails, and that's the only reason this review isn't 1 star. read more

Shoutout to the new chef and staff at Root25, this review is for y'all. You guys really deserve a round of applause. We decided to dine in at the hotel restaurant after a long day of adventures. Didn't really know what to expect, I just knew I was starving and I needed some sustenance. Luckily we made it in time, the kitchen was preparing to close but the staff was kind enough to allow us to place our huge order. We ordered: 2 Double Smash Burgers with Tater Tots 1 Chicken Tinga Tacos with Tater Tots 1 order of Lemon-Agave Brussels Sprouts It was AMAZING! That Double Smash Burger mmm so good. With the prized pickled onions, the garlic mayo and the white cheddar cheese, this burger had the perfect combination of flavors. The brioche bun is so soft, it just makes you wanna keep taking bite after bite. I was eating my burger and already thinking of the next time I'd order it again. Have you ever eaten something so good you try to save some but can't? The tater tots were perfectly crisp. The Lemon-Agave Brussel Sprouts were surprisingly good as well. A hint of sweetness paired with the citrus really elevates your palate and pairs off nicely with the rest of the meal. You can actually pick Brussels sprouts or tater tots as your side and I'd say both work very well. The Chicken Tinga Tacos tasted similar to a shredded chicken enchilada. But it's the pickled onions that take it up a notch. Our server tried to tell us about those pickled onions and I'm so glad we listened. Cudos to the new chef. We loved the menu you prepared and perfected. I can tell the servers are very proud of the new menu which speaks volumes. Wishing 5 star reviews for you guys going forward. read more

Staying in the hotel, so I tried out this place for both lunch and dinner yesterday. For Lunch I had the Grilled Portobello Wrap, while tasty the chickpeas (hummus) definitely overpowered the other veggies so I forgot that it was even a portobello wrap. Still it was stuffed so much I had only ate one half. Fries were tasty.! The salad with salmon for dinner was tasty and since the salad had a vinaigrette I asked for a cup of Caesar dressing for my salmon, which definitely did the trick to add more flavor and taste to it.. the salad seemed to be more drizzled than dressed with the vinaigrette so if you're someone like men who likes dressing you may have to ask for more. I'm not a big pudding person but wanted something light so I gave the chefs special a try. This dessert was divine! I'm a strawberry girl so the vanilla pudding immersed in strawberries and topped with gram cracker crumbles and whipped cream! With a strawberry on top! Whew yummy. Presentation on 10 for the Dessert! In the evening this place is a great mix of lowkey yet with TVs around you can keep up with tv shows and games too. After traveling all day came down to grab a quick bite. My server was Elaine, she was super nice and very helpful about the menu. I ended up ordering the burger. It was cooked perfectly. While eating I asked if they had pickles, she asked a gentleman named Drew (who I believe is a chef). He said they didn't have any on this floor but would go get some for me from another area. I told him I didn't want to put him out, he said it was no problem. He brought some the pickles and was super funny about it. The thoughtfulness of their service is very much appreciated. It's been two weeks since I actually visited Root 25, and I had to try hard to remember what I ate. With that said, it wasn't memorable, but I'm glad the DTC Hyatt Regency has a decently-priced restaurant that's open late. I met up with some friends attending a conference. I started at the bar, ordering a standard G&T. As more people joined the party, we migrated to one of the couches in the back. It wasn't a convenient spot for eating dinner, plus it was too loud to have a conversation, so our waiter relocated us to the atrium. Much better. Several people in our group had issues with their cocktails being too sweet, syrupy, or poorly mixed. I just stuck with beer. For dinner I had a bleu cheese burger which was not bad. The salted sweet potato steak fries were the highlight, perfectly cooked. Overall it's a solid hotel restaurant & bar. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit but good for a late night meal or drink. Since I wasn't a hotel guest, paying for parking and walking across the whole property was kind of a pain, but the company was worth it. read more

I really like this little place. I practically live in this hotel when I come to town for work. I generally like to have a drink after work and occasionally I will order some food. Everything I have tried has been satisfactory and the ingredients seem to be high quality. The staff is pleasant and I know they work hard. Knocking off a star for price, everytime I order a drink I cringe a bit at the bill. I think I paid $9 for a Blue Moon last time I was there. read more

Located in the Hyatt Regency. We arrived in Denver on Sunday night and after checking in, we just decided to go somewhere near for dinner. Upon arrival there was no host/waitress to seat us to our table. We kind of just stood there till we wave someone down to sit us. I think there was a sign that said please wait to be seated and we kind of just waited of some time. We choose to sit at the bar and our bartender was really friendly. She was able to take our order and recommended us what to eat. It just your typical hotel food, nothing outside of the extraordinary. I went went the fish tacos which was battered and it was kind of on the plain side so I asked for some salsa to accommodate the plain taste. The vegetarian options were pretty disappointing and didn't match what was on listed on yelp. I ordered a caesar salad and tomato soup for takeout to bring up to my room. They gave me the world's tiniest, half filled tomatoes soup and charged $9 for it. Add in the caesar salad and I've got myself a meal that cost over $20 and left me still starving. On its face, Root 25 looks like a nice restaurant and has some ok food options. I really enjoyed my crispy trout tacos but was a bit annoyed that my some of my sweet potato fries were undercooked... and were mostly cold. Then there was the service. My group got a big table and at first only a few people were at the table. As the rest of us rolled in, we asked for additional menus. We got a snarky under her breath comment from either a server or hostess saying "well there were only 3 of you here at first" while she went to grab additional menus. Rude, much? Among other annoying things, there was the first fork - with food caked in between the prongs. Mixing up our orders, mixing up our drinks...and honestly I just felt the server thought we were a nuisance...and we were in no way difficult to handle. However - the bar staff that we encountered later that night was fantastic and good sports who accommodated a last minute rush of people. Thank you!!! read more

While I stayed at the Hyatt Tech center recently I ate dinner with a friend at this pub. For a hotel bar and restaurant it was surprisingly good. I had the chicken tinga tacos with brussel sprouts on the side, which were all delicious. There was only one server and he was very attentive. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxing. This place looks to be your typical hotel restaurant. That said, it's much less than I would expect from a hotel with such high ratings. The steak I was served had no flavor, as if the person cooking had no concept of salt and pepper. The fries served with the steak were overcooked and dry and, again, devoid of salt. The Caesar salad had great presentation, but was served with the dressing on the side. This is not correct. A Caesar salad is meant to be served with the dressing coating the salad. And finally, the service was just average. Comparatively I get the same level of service at my local Denny's, and better service at Chili's. To the server's credit, she did let me know that the kitchen was a little slow due to a large party. In general, the service staff are doing their job, but seem to be poorly managed. Will I eat here again? No. Why did I eat here in the first place? Because I didn't feel like driving anywhere else. My recommendation if staying in this hotel: take the time to go somewhere else for a meal, unless you just don't care about what you're eating and don't care how much you spend. read more

Ordered the chocolate pie to bring to my room. Big mistake. The presentation was very pretty, but that's it. I tried the cream on top of the pie and it tasted expired. I tried a piece of the pie and it was hard and it tasted extremely old. I had to return it and request a refund. They apologized and proceeded to void it. I asked for a proof of the void ticket, but what they gave doesn't really prove if it was really voided or not. Hopefully they were honest and did it, I'll see when I check my statement. read more

Terrible service!!! Called and made reservations and had to ask to be seated as the host walked past several times ignoring us. The waiter came to our table 2x within 3 hours of us being there. Once to take out order and the other to time to give us our food and refilled our glasses once. It took forever for our food to come out (2hours). The one star is for the food quality. There was a conference going on in the hotel and the restaurant was severely under staffed on a Friday night as a networking event took place. The group I was with had to go to the bar to order drinks and the bartender, who was amazing considering how many patrons he had to serve, was by himself. Also, the breakfast buffet is $19. I find this very over priced, especially since, other than the omelette bar, the food is very similar to what you'd get for free at a smaller chain hotel. I've had $19 breakfast brunch buffets at other higher end hotels that included prime rib and many other options. I'd expect to pay more for a breakfast at a hotel, but honestly, this buffet breakfast would be over priced at $12. read more

This restaurant located inside Hyatt Regency Hotel. Generally speaking you go there because there wasn't any other options. But they were great!! For appetizer we had Grilled Prawns Creminelli Prosciutto that was on cheese grits, it was the best thing I have had in a long long time! For main course, I ordered the Grilled Colorado Lamb Sirloin, it was tender. They were also very accommodating when you want to substitute with different vegetables. For dessert, I had Ginger Creme Brûlée, again "DELICIOUS"!! The waiter was really friendly. There was 6 of us and we requested each individual checks and she was very accommodating. read more

First off, a huge shout out to Sam. He was phenomenal in making our early wedding anniversary spectacular. He really did go above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Pros: We showed up late and got a table. Our food was different than most with unique tastes. But still really good. Also Sam came by our table and another table in the bar area to talk with each table individually and ensure all was good. When he came to our table we expressed that it was an early wedding anniversary and we didn't think he thought much of it other than to say congratulations and glad we made our stay at the Hyatt Regency. He came back a bit later with chocolate covered strawberries, unbeknownst to him, I am allergic to chocolate. You could see the dang it expression on his face. But he said he will make it up to us. And boy did he. He came back maybe 10-15 minutes later with a plate of freshly made white chocolate with a presentation you'd expect to see in a food magazine. There was a raspberry sauce swirled on the plate with fresh cut strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Holy cow was this completely unexpected. Cons: The food is an acquired taste, as the spices and seasonings play with your taste buds. Recommended? Only if your planning on staying at the hotel and don't want to venture out. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a place I would just stop by on my way home. But if you go, just remember that it can be pricey, and to ask for Sam. read more

Atmosphere was fun....great service and beer selection. The experience was unfortunately ruined by a incredibly rude obnoxious guy named Mark. Assuming he is a low level supervisor...he made our experience uncomfortable. I have never met an individual that was so irritating. I travel for work a lot, but will absolutely never come back to this hotel, solely because of Mark. Unfortunate because the rest of the experience was fantastic. I'm not sure this is a four star restaurant as the yelp reviews suggest. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous space, and there's a chance if you are here on business you may not be able to explore better neighborhood options. But this place is not great, and if you can drive, I would do it in a heartbeat, the yelp rating of four + stars is way off. When we went, there were 5 employees working to cover the 10 customers, and even then they were hard pressed to serve people well. The 'taphouse' part of the adventure consisted of nine beers on tap, the first two I asked for were sold out. The third one I ordered, apparently was sold out and she didn't know until she went to the bar to enter the order. The waitress brought me back a different beer in a bottle, saying I'd like this one better anyhow. Nothing like someone deciding for me what I'd like better. I can get a bottle of beer at home, I go to a tap house for the experience of a draft beer. Food was not really eye-catching either. It is a small menu, which wouldn't be terrible, except it's mostly a small menu of blah menu items. Nothing really eye-catching, so we ordered an appetizer of bruschetta with pea and goat cheese spread. What we received were 5 tiny crostini crackers that likely came from a bag, with a pea spread, a light sprinkle of goat cheese and a light sprinkle of micro greens for $9. We love trying out taphouses, and hotel bars. But this one did not make our list of favorites by a long shot. read more

The food's decent here, but I have to knock off a number of stars for the non-hygienic handling of the place settings by the bus and wait staff. Here's what I mean: a server clears a dirty table, then resets the glassware and coffee mugs by grabbing them by the rim. I watched a bus person stick his thumb into a mug as he set a table -- again, right after clearing the dirty dishes and wiping it down. This is service training 101. read more

I sat at the bar and Phylis, the bartender was absolutely amazing! She was very friendly and attentive. I was in the mood for a burger, so I had the bacon bleu cheese burger and sweet potato fries. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. I planned to venture out for dinner tomorrow, but after this meal, I'll likely just return here instead. read more

We waited 15 minutes after ordering drinks to hear that they were out of ginger ale. We waited 1 hour to get steaks that were wayyy over cooked. We were never visited by the waiter in between placing our order and receiving it. The only good thing about the experience was the French fries. read more
