Great centrally located hotel in Downtown Vancouver. Our check in was wonderful with the Wednesday afternoon concierge desk and bellhop. There was only one concierge person that seemed she was not happy after about 3 interactions with her on Sunday & Monday. My kids enjoyed the heated indoor pool, fitness center, and walking distance to several delicious restaurants/eateries/cafes, shopping (even groceries at H-Mart!), and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Downstairs restaurant was convenient too! Almost all the necessary places were an easy & safe 6-10 minute walk. Our family would even go on 20 minute strolls and come back after 8:30pm totally fine. Netflix in hotel room was a plus for us! We would stay here again - I recommend if parking there to have a compact vehicle.

Stayed here for a couple nights! Great location , friendly staff, and yummy breakfast, good house keeping service! Forewarn, I checked in via app. Requesters for extra towels and pillows. Also, informed them I am briefing my little pup. When got to the hotel reception. I had to remind them. Therefore, room was not ready when I checked in passed 4pm(normal check in time) We got complimentary breakfast(continental). We got to pay $7 extra is wanted to order outside of continental breakfast. The yogurt smoothie bowl was a huge portion. Took it to go to eat as late night snack. Next morning ordered the avocado toast off the menu. Best avocado toast ever. Hubby order the eggs Benedict each time. The potatoes were extra crispy The hotel is dog friendly. However, no potty areas and only allowed in designated areas. We had to walk a block to find a grassy area to do his business. The parking lot is very narrow. We opt to self park. Be good at backing in!! And driving thru narrow areas. Lots of local Asian restaurants close by if it your thing. Coffee and bakeries and shopping too. I would definitely stay again.

Great location, around 6/7 minutes walking from subway station, 10-15 minutes walk to waterfront, very close to a lot stores and restaurants. Feel safe when we walk back to hotel around midnight. The hotel is an old building but renovated! The bathroom is very spacious. There's a small balcony. The front desk staffs were very friendly.

Let me begin by saying this hotel may be in the best location. Right across the street from the best shopping and tons of dining. The hotel itself is excellent as well. Newly renovated and extremely clean, my stay was wonderful. Highly recommend. The restaurant in the lobby was great for breakfast. Only small thing is the gym is very outdated. If that is not something you need than this place is near perfect.

Great location and friendly staff. My only complaint is that the shower was a bit small, but other than that, I was very pleased with my stay here.

The only thing good about this hotel is it's excellent location. Otherwise, it hasn't been updated since 1979. Lumpy bed, furniture is beat up, and the bathroom smells, mildewed shower curtain, poorly working 70s era shower head, light fixture falling off the ceiling. And this is supposed to be an "upgraded" room

Great pre-cruise location! We were looking for a pre-cruise stay and happened upon this hotel. Very easy to get to from YVR via the subway/train. If you do happen to be cruising, it was right down the street about four easy walking blocks from the ships. Well appointed and friendly staff. If we are back in Vancouver we will certainly stay here again.

    What year is it??

There is a plaque on the wall that says this was rated one of the best hotels in the world 9 years ago. I guess you get to see what 9 years of abandonment and decay looks like. Now that Marriott runs it maybe they will do a few upgrades. There is nothing redeeming about the actual hotel. It was terrible, uncomfortable and completely a waste of money. The front desk staff and security was nice so if this review was for them, I'd give them 5 stars. DO NOT VALET YOUR CAR! The valet may or may not be there. You'll have to ride a shaky old elevator into the abyss to search for your car. When you come to the hotel after 9p the key won't open the gate so you have to get the security guard to come out and fiddle with it for ten minutes. The main elevators are so bad they shake and shutter violently as if they have nearly given up. Everything is dated and old. The entire hotel smells of musty carpets that should've been change long ago. The rooms look a bit like a horror movie set, with chipped veneer and smudge covered windows. The mini bar and snacks may or may not have been left over from the hotels glory years. The clear bag of cashews looked shriveled and dusty, even the glassware was chipped. I cannot stress enough, stay at a motel before you stay here. I am frustrated beyond words that this abomination of a hotel was listed on Marriott and I will make sure in future I don't blindly trust Marriott as a brand.

These beds and pillows were some of the best hotel beds/pillows I've ever slept on. We all slept so well! We also ordered room service for breakfast and everything was so good, with reasonable room service prices for the amount you get. Didn't use the gym, but it's recently renovated and beautiful. They provide iced water infused with electrolytes and there are even Pilates machines! There's also a heated rooftop outdoor pool that we didn't have time to take advantage of too. Not only is this hotel amazing, but it's in a prime location to everything - especially if you're a first time visitor to Vancouver. It's super easy to hop on the shuttle to the suspension bridge, or take a sea boat or hop on the subway to/from the airport. It's also walking distance to Gastown, Robson Street, Stanley Park and the Seawall. Highly recommend this hotel if you're in the city!

Staff service here is above the level we typically experience so kudos to the hotel and as it seems everyone is trained and empowered to serve the customer. A one-bedroom signature suite at L'Hermitage was significantly less than a regular room at the Pan Pacific and the Rosewood so I booked 3 nights ($625CAD/night). I got off the Silver Moon at 9:45am, handed my luggage off to a representative from Luggage Forward, and walked from the cruise terminal up to the hotel. My room wasn't ready, so I dropped off my carry-on and backpack and went shopping and to have lunch. I was still on my way to CF Pacific Centre when the front desk called, informing me my room was ready. I told them I'd return after lunch. Wow, I loved my room (707)! As you entered through a short hallway, you found yourself looking at a full kitchen to your right, bathroom to your left and then the bedroom, past a closet housing a stack washer/dryer. The living room was bright and airy because there were walls of glass. Past the kitchen was a den with a desk and sofa. Off the living room was a small lanai overlooking the pool. The kitchen featured a gas range, full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. It was like a timeshare unit, not a hotel room, as there was tableware, glassware, etc. The only nitpick was the bathroom; it didn't quite measure up to the rest of the unit. It was small, with a full-sized glass-enclosed tub, a Toto (but without the washlet) toilet, and a small vanity and shelf unit opposite the vanity. It was totally functional, but I wished the tub had a shower wand, not just the rain head. If I could, I'd want this room moved to Hawaii to become my residence. The front desk staff were personable and friendly. The exercise facilities were fine. The L'Orangerie restaurant is located on the 5th floor ... more on that in a separate review.
