I was applying for an apartment and required to go to this office for an interview. After they buzz you in, you're made to sit in a waiting area that is very tight. One of their staff members named Fatima came out to request to sign into our payroll apps and proceeded to grab my phone without my permission to compare the paystubs I had provided to what was in the payroll app. She was extremely rude to me while I tried to assist her to look at the paystubs as she complained that they didnt fit to screen on my phone. I can understand this is standard procedure and they may have experienced fraud before but my roommates and I were treated like we were criminals when we were simply applying for an appointment. We have great income and credit (otherwise why would they have pre-approved our application and asked us for an interview?) and have provided all necessary documents. If they just needed to verify them then there is no need to be so dismissive and nasty to potential tenants. The way they conducted this interview was highly unprofessional. We were not allowed to sit in an office with even a table. Instead we sat next to a black garbage bag so maybe Angelina from Jersey Shore is one of their tenants. A camera was also directed at us and a man was sitting behind the glass window observing us while on the phone at times talking to God knows who. Possibly reporting what he saw in our interview i guess. It all felt like a tactic to make us crack from the pressure. When we expressed how unprofessional and rude Fatima was, she retorted that she could start calling up all our references, employers and banks to confirm the information instead which delay the process for us. You have FIVE apartments available for rent in your building next to a construction that wont be finished until 2027 at the very least which will exacerbate the existing issue with parking in that area. I dare to say you dont hold all the cards. When we were finished, we were only informed then about the full extent of the ongoing construction of a school next to the apartment complex which according to her has caused great grief from tenants. The five vacant apartments makes more sense now! When we asked the broker who showed us the apartment, they responded that they knew nothing about the construction. We were also asked to submit a $500 good faith deposit which is refunded only if youre denied which is illegal in NYS. The real estate/broker company they use has several different company names which all have bad reviews and explain similar slimey tactics. Posting the listing under several different brokers with different prices. One broker says this apartment is available and another broker says it isnt. If youre planning on renting an apartment from these, beware and do not sign or deposit anything without being absolutely sure first. And if you decide to, prepare to be interrogated about your life with every detail scrutinized in the most unprofessional manner next to garbage. If this is how they treat their potential tenants, who knows how they treat their current tenants?! read more

This company doesn't believe that running hot water is a human right. They refuse to fix the boiler in our building, which is inconsistent and frequently doesn't work without explanation. Whatever temporary fixes occur only last about a week or two. Good luck trying to receive any sort of response from our pathetic excuses for property managers. It's an old building in the Bronx so I'm not naive about the state of these places, but with the slightest bit of care and compassion for their tenants, they could actually make this building a lot safer and more comfortable for everyone. Ever since this management company took over, the building has been going into disrepair. The super they put in place does absolutely nothing and always points to the management company, while the management company representative - Mark is just as useless. They don't manage the property at all. Specifically, 41Park Ter W & 31 Park Ter W, NY, NY 10034 (Inwood). If you want to live in this apartment building, you will encounter tons of bedbugs and rats in the building. The building manager is a thief. We cleaned the apartment very well when moved out. However, they didn't return a penny of our security deposit. We contacted them numerous times to request a refund for the security deposit but we were ignored. read more

I have lived in one of the buildings for 5 years and it has been such a horrible experience. The management is so rude and not caring or knowledgeable at all! The hallways are dirty, people can leave their garbage outside the shut, the laundry area smells like dead rats and garbage all the time. They turn of the water often for a few hours without giving aby notice. During the winter they often turn off the hot water, again without any notice. The intercon does not work for as long as we been working herencia when we rented we were told " That will be fixed soon" and up to this day no one cared to fix it. The elevator is often dirty and does not work properly. In 2019 the elevator broke down for 2 months during the summer and they did not even have the courtesy of speaking to us about the issue, of you went to the office they ignored you, our would tell you that "It's getting fixed" but not information on the expected date. And what is worse is that during that time the hallways had so much garbage, flies and roaches, but they had the audacity to charge the full rent. In 2020 for 4 months I had issues with people opening the emergency door for the roof and activating the alarm, that would go off for about 3 minutes, giving us headaches and making my dogs uneasy. People was crossing from the 14165 building to the one next to it, since there are no cameras the situation got so bad that we had a guy all high in drugs sleeping in the stairs towards the roof who would be there to the dark hiding, smoking and armed with a knife, the police eventually got him but the management did nothing, the police came because me and my neighbors called several times. In 2021 I had 2 packages missing and the office told me that even though they cameras that they couldn't really do anything. And then today I noticed that 4 packages arrived for me yesterday, I was feeling sick and did not check my emails, however my husband went at 9:00 pm to check the mail and by them he found a package for him open, and my 4 packages disappeared. My husband went to the office today and he was told the same BS from before, that they are not responsible. But I wonder, can just anyone come in an out of the buildings and take whatever they want? Isn't our safety a concern for them? I really can't understand how can they be so irresponsible and cold, there is no humanity at all. I hope you get to see this before even considering moving in here, they are super nice to welcome you, but once you are here they treat you as if you live here for free, but they actually are very expensive and quick to request their payment. So my Mom is a Tenant at the Fox St building and has been there for the longest . Although Moms has been here forever she still doesnt speak English too good, matter of fact very few words . But she has always manages to find a way to get things done . Luckily and thankfully someone at the Management or Tenant office or whatever you call it speaks Spanish ! and she is super grateful for it ! Doesn't have any education or authority to help with a viable solution regarding the actual apartment but she'll spend all day emailing you about the misspelling of her goofy name. See this moronic email exchange for yourself. It's laughable. I gave up trying to educate her but thankfully, Daniel Macias is decent so I told him I will deal with him solely and he respected that. Clearview Hillside ave Apartments, located in Queens Village, Ny.. The Super that works for this company and apartment complex barely does anything to maintain the property. He picks and chooses who he will respond to in a timely manner. He pushes repairs onto other people that he hires, so he could kick back and relax and do nothing all day. But even with him putting the work off on to other people, you still could barely get any repairs done in a timely manner. These buildings are old and they will not renovate any apartments unless there's a new tenant that will be moving in.. And of course they do this so that they can charge the new tenants way more money for rent. Theres roaches, mice and water bugs infesting the property. We hear squirrels or possibly raccoons claws scratching against the ceiling inside our attics as they walk around at night. Somehow they eat through the roof and make there way into the attics. Ive spoken to other neighbors in the building who also told me that they hear the same things (what a coincidence). Im convinced that the managers are prejudice, due to them mostly renting apartments to people of indian decent. The super cuts off the water that we we're using to water the gardens on the side of the building because of tenants making complaints against him, but he lies and says its because of the water bill.. Smh.. Like they have a water meter specifically, to one particular water outlet on the side of the building to tell them that it was increasing the water bill. Really? So its not from tenants using the water excessively in their own apartments. We know what's going on here. This area has sooo much potential. The area is nice. Its a great place for kids to run and play outside. If only they would get on there job and fix the building! The Hot water always comes and goes. It could never be consistent. If you decide to test your water before taking a shower, to make sure its the correct temperature as your about to get in.. You better jump in there really fast or else your body will freeze from the cold water that will catch you off guard. And like everyone else says.. It is almost impossible to get through to the management office if you need them. At the end of the day, Metropolitan Property is responsible for all of the things going on in each property. They hire the staff and do not follow up consistently to problems that are reported to them by the tenants. read more

This management company is garbage. Metropolitan Property Services refused to return my deposit despite the apartment being vacated and in good condition at the end of my lease. They would not return phone calls or emails inquiring about a walkthrough or handing over the keys. After 60 days, during which I contacted them repeatedly without any reply, MetroProp informed me that they would be keeping the deposit because they never got the keys back and told me it wasn't their problem that the building manager would not respond to my requests to hand over the keys. read more

Maintenance Workers are all wonderful, The rest of the staff is ok. Rent increases, but the quality of the buildings and apartments don't. Huge rats run around in broad daylight, security cameras don't work, stolen packages because of that, and extermination is inconsistent. But if you have a maintenance issue, it will be quickly fixed. Always have a pleasant experience when I call regarding issues with my apartment. Everything gets fixed with little to no problem. If there is an emergency (I never had one but my neighbor did since the apartment on top left their water running) they come ASAP which always helps the situation from getting worse (like the water coming to my apartment lol). He has no idea what goes on in the building at all. (So much for building manager) Tenant services are an absolute joke. It's a free-for-all, if you expect help with repairs, other tenants, loud noises or any other general issues. You're on your own when it comes to MPS. That's a guarantee. This message is for Neal Altman. I moved out 4/30/2017 leaving the apartment SPOTLESS. You know who I am because we have had numerous conversations. It is now 8/23 and I still have not received my security deposit. I was in contact with Neal as of 7/24/17. When we talked that day, he mentioned that it was sent out that day. WHAT A LIE. Then I spoke with him a week later. He said that a check was already sent out about a month ago. Then obviously he lied about my check "BEING IN THE MAIL." It has been a month since I spoke to Neal. He obviously can't get a simple task done. Fire him. Someone else from your office.. I can't even make out his name from his message and he gave me an incoherent number to call back... saying that the check needs approval from the owners for the check to be cut. WHY DOES MY CHECK NEED APPROVAL FROM THE OWNER WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPROVED AND CUT 4 MONTHS AGO!? YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE JUST ISSUING A REPLACEMENT CHECK. SINCE YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO YOUR JOB...LET ME HELP YOU. STEP 1: PLACE A STOP PAYMENT ON THE PREVIOUS CHECK (IF IT WAS EVEN SENT OUT) STEP 2: REISSUE THE CHECK. I am a property owner and have had a great experience with the team at Metropolitan. They were very professional, friendly, and had a good roster of service providers to maintain the building. I see a number of negative reviews here, but some may be blaming MPS for things that may the fault of the property owner. I also have resided in a building managed by MPS and found them very responsive and professional. As an owner and a resident, I have worked with several property management companies and Metropolitan is the best; I would recommend them to any building. read more

Stay far away from these buildings!!!!!!!!!! Upon moving in it seems good at first but it is everything but that apartments and building are infested with roaches, mice, centipedes and bed bugs. Also in once instance the management of the building refused to give me a key for the laundry room when i requested one, they told me it would be $20 because it would be a replacement key. I never even received a key when i moved in, they refuse to hear me out or even meet with me. all they do is dodge calls and claim they are in meetings when you show up. Parking is also terrible in the neighborhood it will take on most nights 30mins to find a spot and I have been waiting on a list to get a parking space for 11 months but have yet to receive it. and for next years lease they are attempting to raise the rent $100 to $1650 for a 1br, which is ridiculous for what you have to deal with here.
