I've been going here for a few years because it's right around the corner from my house and used to be insanely cheap. I used to pay $40 for unlimited everything including spray tans. I froze my membership throughout pregnancy and nursing my baby and when I came back they told me I could no longer get the price I used to have. Unlimited spray tans are now $70+ a month and that's all I use. Since I now have kids it's harder for me to slip out to tan to get my money's worth. They signed me up for a twice per month flex package at an okay price which I have been using for awhile. They change their formulas often and the latest one is crap. Even with "dark bronze" it completely washes off the next day in the shower. Plus they change their hours seasonally and the last tanner must be checked in 30 minutes prior to close. Even if there's no line to spray tan, and even though spray tanning takes approximately 5 minutes and the machine cleans itself. If there's 25 minutes left until closing you're screwed. And unfortunately for me with flex packages your unused tans do not roll over month to month, so for me it's turned into a waste of money. In short, this place is ok. They aren't overly friendly or accommodating nor overly rude. Pros: Decent staff Decent prices No pressure to buy lotions or packages like other tanning salons Cons: New spray tan formula isn't long lasting (not worth the money) They aren't very accommodating. Inconsistent hours and not open as early or as late as any other tanning salon. read more

So disappointed. I've been a member here for the last 8 years or so (and spent thousands of dollars). I just had a baby (moms with babies you know how hard it is to get out of the house). I had to put my membership on hold/freeze after I gave birth and needed to refreeze it again and I called to see if there was any possible way I could do that without having to come in person (over the phone, by email, carrier pigeon, etc). The girl (Brittany) told me there was no way to do that even after explaining to her how hard it is to get out of the house. I told her that if I had to come in I was canceling and she just flippantly said 'ok'. Geez thanks - but no thanks. I'll be cancelling today. Terrible customer service. read more

I drove an hour to come here and I didn't regret kit - incredibly cozy, personable tanning salon. The owners are down to earth, get to know your skin, and the beds and prices are top notch. Great experience! read more

ugh can i give this place negative stars? it is awful. rude. degrading. stinks. i was trying to find a great tanning salon & was contemplating PlanetTan or Palm Beach, but wanted to do a more local business - i am DEFINITELY going with PlanetTan or Palm Beach. so rude. "gino" wouldn't honor his 4-day free trial - acting like it didn't exist - uh, it's ON the front page of YOUR website. then tried to shove all these packages on me & got super pissy when i was taking time on making my decision. then made me go to my car & scrap up change for the $1 trial goggles because I didn't pay for the $10 ones. um at PlanetTan they're free.. he & his coworker proceeded to yell at another client in front of me. just THE WORST I've ever been treated. and I rarely give bad reviews. this is why small businesses stay small then eventually close. off to give money to PlanetTan! not this place! read more

this is a horrible place! Customer service is bad. I just felt so uncomfortable here. I do not like this place. I would walk in and say "hi, and sign in". And the person at the desk totally ignores me and just doesn't acknowledge me. But they will chit chat with their regulars. It felt like an episode of Mean girls. Also, I went in there with a coupon and they were giving me such a hard time in honoring the coupon. Just weird place. I'm honestly surprised to see some bad reviews for Metro Tan! I've been tanning here for about 2 years now (moved to Cali and back). I've always received great customer service and I don't feel like I'm talking to a used car salesman when I go in. It's so nice not to be pressured into buying stuff I don't want/need. They do try to up sell, but if you say no, they don't try to push it on you. I mostly use the VersaSpa and rarely have to wait to go in. The pricing is pretty good for the most part. read more

Look for somewhere else to tan, beds are rarely cleaned, and staff is rude and incompetent. I had my account on freeze, which meant that it would start charging again after the freeze was over. I lost track of time and also changed my debt card number (because of a fraudulent charge) so my account over drafted. They contacted me, which I understand but when speaking with CHRIS he accused me of changing my debt card number on purpose, so I wouldnt have to pay..... I have never been more baffled in my life during a customer service interaction. Mind you these people still need my information to pay them and they have the nerve to speak to me like that!! I spoke to Gino about the interaction and he brushed it off like it was no big deal that his employees are accusing people of techniquly stealing!! read more

It's been years since I have tanned and walked in pretty clueless, prepared to be judged, and waiting to be hard sold. What I actually experienced was the complete opposite! Gino was so nice and friendly. Answered all of my questions and took time explaining the beds and VersaTan system to me. He recommended what would work best for be. I used to tan at planet tan and palm beach tan, until I moved into the area---this place is the absolute best!! I'm shocked at the negative reviews, the guys chat with everyone. Everyone is very friendly and they don't push products ( which I hatedddd at palm beach and planet tan) Excellent prices as well, my monthly spray tan membership is less than one spray tan at other places. This place is horrible. It's a total scam. The facility is average at best on equipment and cleanliness. The staff is rude, condescending and treats the customers badly. They sign you up for a contract and make it extremely difficult to cancel, and when you do cancel, you still have to pay for another month. Avoid this place. They are unethical and care nothing about making customers happy. It's shame people like this are even allowed to be in business. If I could, I'd rate it a Zero star experience. YIKES! read more

I've been to many tanning salons and this one is by far my favorite. Every time you walk in you're greeted with a positive employee. The renovations make it that much better. I like the vast selection of beds as well as spa treatments that are available. The owners are extremely good people and always have smiles on their faces. Have been a customer since 1998, GREAT staff, GREAT beds and always go out of their way to accommodate ANY need. The other places within driving distance are corporate owned money-pits that force contracts on you or get fired. Metro is locally owned and operated and it shows! read more

This is a great place to tan. They offer a great variety of tanning beds with different levels of strength. They also have a VersaSpa that is similar to a spray tan, but it doesn't turn you orange like most salons I've been to. The staff is very friendly and they have speedy service which means little waiting time. It is a very clean place, tanning beds are very clean and a very nice ambience (they play music upon request or you can plug in your phone and listen to your own tunes). Even though I am allergic to most lotions, they sell a variety of products and offer several affordable tanning packages that all fit within my budget. Another perk I really like about this place is that they change the tanning bulbs on the regular which allows you get the most out of each session. This place is located in a Wal-Mart shopping center or you can go to Kroger right across the street which allows me to knock out my grocery shopping as well. Once again, it's a great place to go tanning. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. If I could rate them ZERO stars I would. I purchased a groupon for a month of tanning and they would not allow me to redeem it because I had tanned there before but the groupon said NOTHING about it being for new users only. When I tried to explain that he said "well I don't use groupon so I don't know how it works." When I asked if they were running any other specials he said no here are our regular prices you can't use it. A place with good customer service would actually honor what they offer not refuse you to be able to use something you purchased and followed the rules just because they don't understand their own advertising! read more

I was looking for a place in Carrollton to tan and found Metro Tan. I went in on my lunch break and met Gino (the owner)..He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They had some amazing deals going on as well! I tried out their new Spray Tan machine and was very happy with my results. In the past I've always ended up orange but when I left today I looked like a golden goddess:) I highly recommend the Versa Spray.. I started tanning here when I was 16, unfortunately a little while after Texas passed a law saying I had to be 18 to tan. 2 YEARS LATER I come back through the doors and Adam and Gino GREET ME BY MY NAME! Wow. I just felt so appreciated and welcomed! These guys are great, they inform me about new deals and always have my best interest in mind. I walked in just wanting to price the place, knowing like other places I'd been i'd probably be pushed into something I may not want, so I had my game face on!... NOT THE CASE AT ALL! Gino the owner, and gavin were there, 1st.... they asked my name and SHOOK MY HAND!! 2ND ASKED ME WHAT I WANTED TO DO!, never once tried to change my mind! then when I said I wanted to check around he simply gave me a booklet with the prices and said have a great day Brittany! 2 days later I'm standing in palm beach telling them what I wanted they tried to change my mind and get me to buy a 109$ membership when I wanted nothing but spray tan and beauty angel bed! THEN TOLD ME METRO DOES NOT HAVE THE BEAUTY ANGEL! THEN TRIED TO SELL ME A BOTTLE OF EFFECT FOR 65$ WHEN METRO SOLD ME THE EXACT SAME BOTTLE FOR $15!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING ANY WHERE ELSE! THEY ARE THE BEST, CLEAN, NICE, PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL! ps! I was a balm beach member for 7 years! And a manager at store 41 in southlake. Their lotion is marked up 600%!!
