While waiting for the doctor to arrive i noticed how the shop was not well maintained, it seemed dingy and you can see old water stains on the walls. The Doctor came into the shop in a huff (maybe because he was late) and scuttled into the back. When he opened for us we threw on the charm and his attitude changed for the better, in fact i likes the guy - he seemed sweet and knowledgeable. When conducting the eye exam, I thought it was odd that he didn't do the glaucoma test (or any other test aside from the "is 1 better or 2") and when I asked about it he responded with "do you have diabetes?". It was odd but we went forward and he wrote down a prescription. I inquired about mine, as someone who has worn some kind of contact lenses and/or glasses for 20+ years, i thought it was interesting that my script went from minor to almost non existent - my husbands as well. We both were scheduled for 3pm and 3:30pm by Peter. Paperwork was filled out for our charts and Mr. Zion assisted us very pleasant, attentive and helpful. My mother and I completed Eye exams with Zion and Peter and had a great visit with the doctor on duty due to Dr. Van being on vacation. Very great doctors. Never a problem with the doctors. We both are very displeased with the experience we had at the My Eye Dr. Queens location due to the unprofessionalism displayed from your staff members Hailey, Peter and General Manager, Rob Morrison. After seeing the doctor, doctor advised us to wait at the counter until one of the staff members came to assist. It took time for someone to come to the counter due to staff taking breaks and helping other customers. I was seen first by the doctor and no one was available to assist me with picking out the eye glasses so I went back in the room with my mother for her appointment. Once all appointments were completed my mother and I waited at the eye glass table escorted by the doctor. No one came over to serve us. Hailey was outside on a break vape smoking and Peter was on the computer Still waiting at the counter. General Manager, Mr. Rob was assisting a couple that just walked in never once did he acknowledge us at the counter. My mother asked Hailey if someone was going to come to the counter to assist. Years of 2024 and 2025 multiple bills were sent to my mother for payment after paying the first amount but after a thorough investigation Health First discovered that the amounts that were spent should have not been paid. Peter comes over to serve the couple and while he's serving them with eyeglasses my mother asks Peter when will we be served and he replied he didn't know. We were next to be taken care of. This is totally unacceptable so the lady customer that was standing at the counter and started throwing up her hands and fingers and I intervened because no one was going to hit my mother. No one was aggressive but the couple but they were still served. Rob finally comes over after ignoring us the whole time and makes a comment, "Let's act like adults!" So this is where the commotion started. Still waiting to pick out eyeglasses. Unacceptable. I don't know if Rob was intoxicated or under the influence but he was acting very strange yelling at the customers me and my mother throwing his hands up and expressing are we ready to pick out the eye glasses and then kept changing his mind. Rob refuses to serve us but served the other couple that was served just by waking in. Cash customers first over insurance customers? What is going on here? Dr. (Wilzen) Lingad is a combination of qualities you don't usually get in New York: professional, thorough, friendly, and well-rounded. She showed me pictures of my eyes, told me how to reduce redness due to allergies/irritants, gave me a slightly new prescription to help reduce nausea when I take my glasses on, and (since I'm near-sighted and don't wear glasses full-time), and tested my peripheral vision. Besides her great bedside manner, she was just a joy to speak to. She asked me about my work, told me a little bit about her family, and explained the origin of her first name to me when I told her how unique it was. And I was just a first-time patient! The whole office is efficient and friendly, including the staff working during my visit. We verified the day before his appointment that Dr. Lingad is in network, everything's covered at 100%, I called myself to make sure, but because it's not a major insurance she recognized, she didn't want to take the time before his apt to just call the phone # on the back of his card to talk with someone and verify it . She cancelled his appointment while he was there for his appointment after he walked there, and told him to 'figure it out'. This provider needs to remind this receptionist that they are loosing business because of her being lazy, not doing her job and her attitude. What happened to customer service? I found another place that did verify his insurance he's now scheduled there.
