If I heard Aiken, South Carolina and good Mexican food in the same sentence I would not understand the comparability until I bit into my first street taco from Mexicali. My friend's parents of all people, raved about this place being the best in Aiken and we were right down the block so..taste test tally ho. Walk into the store and at first glance you might say this store looks way to small to be a restaurant, but follow the aroma to the back and it opens up to a quaint dining room with a couple of seating booths and table seating spread out. We had a Mango soda, couple of chicken and chorizo tacos with the complimentary refried beans and rice. To top it off the tomatillo verde sauce was tangy and the pico had a nice hot kick to the taste. If you are looking for some authentic spices or Mexican candy look no further. They also offer low cost calls to Latin America via a few phone banks lined up by the counter.

A dish who's name escapes me... chorizo, nopales, chicken, onion, poblano and more.

Total dive. If you're not Hispanic you'll be as lost as we were walking in. There's no signage, and no English. We meandered around until we found the restaurant in the back of this Mexican grocery store. You order at the counter & need to be able to read Spanish to interpret the menu. Fortunately I can. The cook isn't bilingual either. The food is decent but IMO doesn't rival 3 Caminos. It is however authentic so if you're craving chips & salsa this isn't your place. There was an odd amount of onion peel in my dish. The mango soda is delicious. The portion was huge and the price was fair. Beware of the red sauce! Green good, red bad unless you don't like your mucous membranes.

My boyfriend and I were trying to find a legit Mexican place here in Aiken, and we were so lucky in finding this place! If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this certainly the place. The employees here are really nice as well and it's pretty cheap (about $2 a taco). It's an old building that doesn't have the nicest seating area, but that's not something I particularly care about. As far as the taste of the food is concerned, my boyfriend and I enjoyed eating the al pastor and carnitas tacos. There were toppings at bar that you could choose from as well, including things like cilantro, onion, and two different types of salsa. We also bought some horchata mix that we made at home ourselves since it was late at night and they were out of their own mixture. We went shopping for a few candies there as well and my boyfriend was able to find the candy he was searching for that he remembered from his days in California. Definitely satisfied with this place and will probably be coming back soon!

Love their tacos! Cool little grocery store with a small restaurant in the back. Great place to grab some lunch.

This guy needs an investor. The food was great but the facility is a dump. Service is great and friendly.

Service was a little confusing since I think we were misunderstanding each other a little bit. I'd rather an authentic place with real food than that tastes amazing and servers willing to try and learn another language everyday over a place with food that doesn't taste good and it's real or is frozen. This place is the real deal.

HUGE PORTION SIZES!…read more I ordered the Steak and Chicken Fajitas. The flavoring was okay but the portion sizes is where its at!!! I swear you could fees four people with the amount of food you get with it. Plus 2 plates of lettuce, cheese, guacamole, rice and beans.... which again HUGE. Where it lacks in flavor makes up for it in portion and price point. When I initially went into the restaurant it was super crowded (its very small inside) and I looked over the menu and was shocked to see the prices the way they were. A bit high. Then I got my food. It was worth it. I paid $23.99 for my fajitas for 2 and we barely put a dent in them. The server was super friendly but at the beginning the service was slow. I understand though because it was super busy and a small crowded space makes for chaos. All in all I dont mind it and I would definitely go back. I do need to try the margaritas too!

We didn't pay since they treated us but the prices on the menu seemed very reasonable. It seems like this restaurant was right off of one of the main drags, but the sign was not very big so we definitely had to pay close attention to the GPS. It's a small unassuming building, but it does have its own private parking lot. We got there right at 11 o'clock on a Monday morning, right when they opened. We were seated right away. Since we had already come three hours on a road trip, I went straight to the restroom and was pleased with how clean it was. When I got back to the table, I ordered a water and a medium beer, which was 25 ounces. I'm not sure how much the beer cost, but my lunch was $10.99 for two flautas, rice and guacamole salad. It was all delicious. My husband's steak quesadilla looked amazing and he said it was excellent. The service was outstanding and our waiter checked on us several times. I'm not sure if we will ever be back in this area but I was very impressed and would definitely recommend this establishment!
