Being 5 de Mayo, what's the special and were told the balloons, TV & a DJ. Then we asked about the food menu and the Manager just hands us a paper and said, these are the 5 de Mayo specials. There were no prices on it, so we asked for the price of Hawaiian salad. The Bar tender says $24. Then we asked for their regular menu, ordered the pulpo tostadas that were reasonably priced at $16 and a few mojitos. We noticed everyone else got chips and salsa but we didn't qualify because we only ordered 1 entree. Honestly I won't go back. The manager was rude and the fact that everyone got chips and salsa and we didn't, was petty. We were just not very hungry and just wanted to drink. We most likely would've gotten more drinks and food But that pettiness was disappointing. The Pulpo / octopus was ok. The waitress who served the food and drinks was more attentive. The quesadilla made my stomach hurt...wanted to like this place but the food didn't sit well :(

The food was pretty good, however the temperature in the restaurant was astronomically hot. Now I know how the SHEIN workers feel when they pack my orders. Someone should call the Department of Health on this place. Fans everywhere and the temp was at 84 degrees but felt more like 105. I only gave 2 stars because the food was good but I could never come back due to temperature control. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

This has become my go to Friday night spot. Great service, excellent food and I must say one of the best margaritas on Staten Island. Price is right also. The staff members that work here are super nice and when I talked to one of the workers, they said that they have live music every wednesdays. Hubby and I live around the block from this place. We've done take out, liked the food. And ate there once. The food was packaged well for take out, except the fries which came home soggy. They need to poke holes in the little plastic lids. No biggie. When we ate there the service was friendly and unhurried. So, we felt welcome. We got the queso fundido (no meat) and I had the vegetarian tacos. Hubby got the milanesa sammy. Everything was tasty. They didn't have tres leches but they had what we (USSR folk) call sour cream cake. It was nummy. We will be ordering from here again and occasionally leaving our couch to eat there. read more

They were extremely friendly and attentive. I got a shrimp quesadilla my boyfriend got the shrimp fajita and we also got a order of guacamole and chips. What a please tell surprise! Everything was great! Made fresh the food came out piping hot. It was flavorful, and filling. They haven't gotten their liquor license as of yet which they tell you before you sit just in case you were looking to have drinks. I thought that was great. Or the bill was about $45 with the two meals and appetizer. Like I said before they were very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. The customer service in this place is horrible so I ordered carnitas tacos which says on the menu that it is shredded pork and this is what they give me. It's not shredded. It looks like a chopped up burnt pork chop and when I ask about it, they tell me know that that's the Al Pastor that is shredded not the Carnitas and they would not fix it, or replace my mail of what I really ordered.but meanwhile the Al pastor says marinated chopped up pork then they bring the chef to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about but meanwhile it's on their menu that way so is the menu wrong or me idk read more

I went here on a Tuesday night for karaoke and it was a lot of fun. The restaurant was completely packed and the ambience was really great. Everybody gets involved in karaoke and it's so much fun. I ordered a coconut margarita and they put Chamoy around the rim, which I wasn't a big fan of the flavors didn't go together. I ended up just sticking to beers and shots. It was a great time. Been working in Staten Island the past month. Before that, spent very little time in SI. To be honest, good food is hard to find, here. Unless your looking for bagels or pizza. I did however have the opportunity to eat at Cantina's. It's been by far the best food I've tried. (That includes Mezcals) Their mexican food was extremely authentic. Adrian the owner was pleasant enough to strike up a convo and tell me about their new restaurant. He's been working in the business for over 20yrs and knows his stuff. Unfortunately they dont have the liquor license yet. But the food is definitely worth coming for. I had three tacos - chicken fish and pastor. All super flavorful. He also let me try their 3 homemade hot sauces. Really good. Cantinas was an awesome find. These guys are gonna kill it. read more

Oh I just love this place, mostly for the Tostada di Pulpo, which is something I can't find at any other Mexican restaurant on Staten Island. For just $10 you get 3 nice sized tostadas that are piled with octopus, avocado, queso, beans, and pico. I also really enjoyed their fish tacos, made with fried basa filet, mango salsa and pickled onions. They serve them with chipotle mayo which may or not be your thing depending on whether you prefer a more authentic Mexican fish taco. I am so happy this restaurant opened in the neighborhood. We enjoyed our meals immensely. We started with the tortilla soup which was fresh, authentic, and really good. Recommend you get chips to crumble into it. Next I had chicken fajitas and that was really good. The chicken was not overly flavored, the onions and peppers were great, the refried beans and rice were also great, and the tortillas were hot! I really enjoyed it. My wife had the Cantina salad, which is a mix of a house salad with fruits like strawberries, cranberries, mango, and other fruits. She loved it. The enchilada was chunks of unseasoned grilled chicken rolled in a corn tortilla with some sauce on it and topped with hardest avocado slices I've ever eaten and no flavor whatsoever; I could've made this better at home. I was looking for an authentic Mexican food restaurant and found it here. Mexican Cantinas food is packed with flavor due to the quality of ingredients. The price for the quantity of food is a plus. The vibe is fun, and the staff are aces. Definitely the best Mexican food in Staten Island. I will recommend the shrimp empanadas which are excellent and packed with flavor don't forget to drizzle the chipotle mayo on top! Yummy. I can only give one star because that's what the app allows. But let me tell you. I understand we are in a pandemic, granted. The way this restaurant manager operates is disgraceful. I placed an order at 630. It is currently 840 and I have called twice to check on it. Every-time I call I get the run around. The first time I called. Granted I understand they are busy. If I ask for an update on my order I expect a proper response. Not a response that doesn't fulfill my needs as a customer. If you don't have drivers. Say so. If you cannot process my order say so. Don't keep me waiting hours later to them tell me you don't have drivers and my order hasn't even been cooked yet. Then when I ask to speak to a manager he says "I am the manager " and doesn't even apologize and just says "I cancel Your order " now it is 845 and I cannot order else where because it is too late at this hour . The food was fresh and delicious. You can taste the difference from other Mexican restaurants on the island because here they use fresh ingredients, giving each dish it's s own distinct flavor. The guacamole was divine and we also had a chicken quesadilla, shrimp burrito, nachos, and steak fajitas. All the food came out hot and the chicken was nice and juicy, not dried out. Above the food we enjoyed the service from Adrian. He prides himself on great food and warm hospitality. We immediately felt at home. Right now they are waiting for their liquor license but don't let that stop you from enjoying this great gem on the Island. You can bring your alcohol until their liquor license is approved.
