Absolutely excellent service. Every time I come here I feel taken care of, and there are so many familiar faces. Doesn't seem to be much turnover, which says something about how they treat their people. I love the chips and salsa. If you've been here, you know. Those Frito-style chips are amazing, and don't forget the free corn tortillas and butter. I'm always stuffed before my entree even arrives. My go-to is the brisket enchilada. I love queso, and these come topped with white queso, so it's an easy call every time. I've never tried their desserts, but the churro cheesecake tempts me on every visit. One of these days. Our dining our Toastmasters's club chooses a different restaurant each month for our monthly meeting. This month we'd been meeting at Mexican Inn Cafe. There would be about 20 members in attendance. When we arrived, they had our table set up in their "closed in" patio area. What a beautiful meeting space. We met Jessica, our server, for the evening. She was so friendly. I knew we were going to get GREAT service. Since my wife and I were frequent diners of Mexican Inn Cafes, we know what we wanted. My wife ordered the chicken quesadillas. I decided on the "Pick 3." I ordered a cheese enchilada, crispy beef taco and a guacamole chalupa, of course accompanied with rice and beans. To top our dinner off with, two frozen margaritas. Sounds like the perfect combination to me. At Mexican Inn Cafes, you've got to be very careful that you don't overeat their addictive "Frito style" chip, the chips are what they're know for. I've been enjoying them for over 70 years. The margaritas were "on point" and totally delicious. I had to slow down, a couple of times I got "brain freeze" from sipping them too fast. After a short wait, entrees started arriving. My wife loved her quesadillas, and my "Pick 3" was wonderful. I love their guac. Throughout the evening, Jessica took excellent care of our group and all had an awesome time. By the way, Mexican Inn Cafe's has some of the best flan in the area. We all agreed that we'd put the restaurant in our rotation and return again in the future. read more

This trip, we had a little bit of a wait to get a table. Another problem was there wasn't very much staff. They seemed to be very busy and our waitress took a long time to get back to our table every time we needed something. The food is really good, definitely love the chips. I had always wanted to try this place so we walk into what appeared to be an old El Chico Restaurant from long ago. It could use some badly needed updating. I will say the service was very good. We were served chips and salsa right away. The salsa looked and tasted like stewed tomatoes and the chips appeared to be a blown up Frito. I did ask for a spicier salsa but it wasn't much better. We had the nachos and cheese enchilada plate. We didn't like either one of them. The nachos were falling apart and the plate of enchiladas were nothing more than mediocre! I've lived in this area for almost 40 years and only been here twice. Insane! I went again and was so impressed with almost everything. The chips and salsa were super flavorful, queso was gooey and just the right amount of spicy. Queso was served with their homemade and incredibly delicious corn tortillas. Wow, the tortillas were so good we had to order dozens extra to bring home. Main dishes were also excellent. Only a few disappointments: the beer election sucked and the flan was not good: too firm and the carmelization surely came from a jar and not baked sugar. We will definitely be back!!! read more

I love this place! They've been a staple in Bedford for many years. They can be counted on to provide good food every time. The Arroz con Pollo (Rice with Chicken) is my personal favorite. I've tried other menu items that are very good, but this one is like comfort food for me. The corn chips with salsa are provided at no charge, and they are the perfect snackie to tide one over while waiting for food. Not that the wait is ever very long. We've never had to wait for very long. I appreciate that they have either booths or tables and chairs, and there is seating for a lot of people. We tend to sit and eat and visit for much longer than it takes to eat, and they are always super nice to not rush us out of there. The prices are reasonable, especially if utilizing the BOGO coupon for an entree that comes in the monthly Valpak envelope. Good food, fast service, clean environment, and fast, friendly service. Let me say that the food was amazing as usual! Our server on the other hand was not. Not only did she get my husband's order incorrect but the table behind him was incorrect. When I asked her for to go container and a smaller container meaning a bowl for my sour cream and guacamole from my burrito bowl, I told my husband I had asked for a bowl and she snapped at me while facing another table to take their order telling me that she would get to me in a moment and repeated it over and over again. I was not even speaking to her. Then when she asked if the ticket was together I said yes this is my husband she says that she asked everyone that which I felt was totally unnecessary and rude. She received a tip of $1 and we are normally 20 to 25% tippers. I will be back but I definitely will not be sitting in Victoria's station. Everything else was great. read more

I walked in to order 6 alacart tacos and was told they were 4.99 each! What? For just a taco? The waitress suggested I just order the lunch instead which had 2 tacos, but came with rice and beans. I asked how much for 2 of those. At least it would be 4 tacos. She said $11.99. I specifically asked if that was for 2? She said yes, they were the special. When I got home I opened the bag and there was only one dinner. All the extras were for only one. I am so upset because it was all messed up. I would have paid for two, but she assured me that was 2! Hubs and I will always keep Mexican Inn on our favorites list. They have never disappointed - service or food. We love it and 10/10 recommend. Hubs ALWAYS orders the tamale dinner and nothing beats it. This time I ordered the Tortilla Soup and Salad. As stated - delicious and fresh. Be careful with this place. They send out BOGO coupons in a Val-pack mailer routinely but management won't accept them unless you purchase 2 drinks and it IS NOT stated on the coupon that you must do that. So that nearly invalidates the coupon savings by the time you pay for 2 drinks which you may not have wanted, and 20% tip on top of that, and sales tax So the coupon loses most of it's value. And that requirement is no where on the coupon! It's some sort of add-on heist they choose to enforce post-offer. You can have my coupon, I won't be using it. Chose this spot for a friend and I to catch-up during a lunch. The service was great as usual. This location had been my goto for my fix of Mexican food. That changed today. I ordered a deluxe nachos plate. I have ordered this meal before at this location.Today, the nachos were limp and soggy, ground beef was placed on top of the cheese instead of underneath to hold it in place. Worst of all was that the entire plate looked as though it was sprayed with grease. I don't mean the food was greasy. I mean the entire plate and all was swimming in grease. As for the sour cream, pico, and guacamole - it would have been nice to get more than 1 tablespoon each. I don't know if the management changed or the cook(s) changed but it is not the same and I won't be back. My friend got a combo order of the fajita nachos.
