i needed to get right before hitting the road and getting back to oklahoma. this place was recommended and when we got here and i saw skillets, that's all i needed to know. skillets usually come with a lot of food to leave me full and that's what the lalo's power skillet did. bacon, sausage, two eggs (i got mine over medium), peppers along with a side of toast (which is what i got... you can get tortillas instead). full of good, greasy goodness. i don't mean "greasy" in a bad way, this was adding flavor coming from the bacon and sausage. something i noticed as i was eating is i didn't add any hot sauce or anything extra for that matter, which is a plus for me because to add sauce to anything. the service was good, the lady that served my table was nice, checked on us often & always made sure we were ok. the wait on the food wasn't long. outside of the skillets, there were pancakes, french toast (which is what i almost ordered), chicken & waffles, etc. a nice selection to choose from (not to mention the lunch items). [[HIGHLIGHT]]we sat outside, which there were 3 tables that give plenty of space between the 3.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Pork chop breakfast

First time here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have pleasant, quiet indoor and outdoor seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and serve all of their menu all day. Prices (to us) are on the higher side where most breakfast dishes are ~ $15 and lunch/dinner hitting ~ $20. We had breakfast which offered choice of house potatoes or hash browns. The hash browns are excellent, perfectly crisp. Husband had the pork chop breakfast. Pork chop had good flavor and not over cooked. I had the Greek omelette and sub the feta cheese for cheddar. Omelette was decently filled with all the veggies. When choosing toast, I suggest the sour dough--it too was very good. Although they were good and worth trying, we have other places we frequent that are as good and a bit cheaper.

This place was delicious! The hot cocoa was topped with whipped cream and cinnamon, which complimented the churros (totally amazing churros!) We also had breakfast and lunch items - all were delicious! The service was wonderful - kind employees! The Cafe was decorated Texas style. I'm still having about the churros!! Side note: Amy's has a Christmas day package you can order online or via phone. Delicious options (including an option of pork loin) and sides and pies...oh my! Pickup date in on Christmas Eve.

    Churros w/ a sauce?

I never would have known this place existed, if they were not hosting us during the holiday Yelp event. Thank you Amy's, we all appreciated the wonderful holiday gesture. Upon driving up to the establishment, it was a little corner eatery. I don't know if I would compare it to "small-town" dining, but they did their best. When I walked in, I was greeted by the waitress, and she was very sweet. I looked at the menu, but couldn't decide on what I wanted; based on the reviews, I felt more comfortable with sticking to the holiday treats. I did order fried okra, but they ran out just as I arrived. So, that was that. Churros: I wasn't able to enjoy the churros, they were incredibly hard and the sauce did nothing to help the overall taste. You can tell they aren't freshly made, their reheating process may be what's causing them to harden. The decor needs a bit of help, but I feel there's a reason it is there; I can respect that. I will not be going back, but I'm happy to learn of this little spot. I hope the best, for them.

Stopped by for a quick snack. It's a small very quaint place. I love the very home feeling vibes it gives. The customer service was great. They were quick to take my order and get it ready for me. It took a few minutes which was understandable... the churro was fresh. Which if you know, most places just place them in a warmer. I noticed this churro was freshly fried, which is a major plus. My husband could tell the difference. He doesn't like sweets and he surprisingly ate half . He loved the hot chocolate... Will definitely be back to try more items.

Amy's cafe reminds me of some of the small town restaurants in the area that my parents and a number of aunts, uncles, & cousins live. Which is awesome for those times that you don't want to cook that night. Though that can make it tough in a market like ours where there are so many restaurants. Both staff members were very friendly during our visit. For meals; I'd recommend checking what the specials are day to day. 'Cause that made the fajitas one of us got a reasonable price for what they got. The meal I got was decent enough.

    Hot Chocolate!

Great customer service from the two young lady servers. One of the ladies stated it was her first day and she did an amazing job! I ordered the Texas burger sandwich with fries, hot chocolate, and churros. The hot chocolate with rich cream topped with cinnamon was delicious! The churros were good and topped with caramel & chocolate sauce. I decided to order my burger as a sandwich. All the fixings paired well with the soft toasted bread and meat patty. I enjoyed the warm ambiance of the restaurant and the friendly staff.

Came here for a Yelp event. We received the churros and hot chocolate. And we ordered the enchilada stack. The place was very cozy and local feel. The churros were freshly made as well as the hot chocolate. Such a great treat. The enchilada stack was a unique brunch item with an egg on top. Very Tex mex flavors!

My half-eaten Chicken Fried Steak with green beans, mashed potato, and yeast dinner roll was DELISH!

How did I not know about this gem until now? I stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant quite by (happy) accident. It's tucked into the corner of the little shopping center at Harwood and Hurstview. Amy's is family owned, and I've since learned that they are most popular for breakfast and lunch; however, they are open for dinner as well. We went there for dinner and my dining companion, who is gluten free, ordered the catfish. I had the chicken fried steak. Both were excellent! My CFS was so tender that a knife wasn't needed! The side dishes of green beans and mashed potatoes were well-seasoned and tasty. They offer CocaCola products, and my beverage tasted good. And they have "the good kind" of ice! The server, Ivan, was so friendly and attentive. While there, I noticed that several folks had called in for carry-out orders. Also, I van said that they serve breakfast all day, which is a huge plus in my book! I apologize for showing my food half eaten in the photo, but it was so appealing that I dug right in before remembering to snap a photo! Amy's will be added into my regular rotation, and I can't wait to return! Please go there - we need Amy's and other family owned restaurants in the area. You'll be happy you tried them out!

Breakfast flour tortilla with egg, cheese, peppers, brisket. Potatoes bites and salsa
    Robert F.

The food was excellent!! Had the breakfast taco with brisket. The balance of peppers, meat, egg were spot on. The homemade salsa was amazing, had a hint of cilantro. Not too spicy and the sauce was the perfect consistency. Definitely try the place!

We came for my birthday dinner as we always see this restaurant busy but have never tried it. We called for a reservation and when we arrived, it was very busy as it was Saturday night, but we were seated within 2 minutes. We were greeted by a friendly waitress shortly after and had drinks in hand and bread on the table within 10 minutes. We ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Formaggio which arrived with toasted garlic bread. The dish was delicious and there was just enough bread-to-dip ratio! Our party of 4 ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo, Grilled Chicken Caprese, Shrimp and Crab stuffed Mahi Mahi and the Cajun Steak Alfredo. All dishes arrived with fresh garnish and excellent presentation. The alfredo tasted housemade and not at all greasy. The shrimp had a fresh taste as well, along with the Mahi Mahi. The grilled chicken caprese arrived with a red sauce with sweet cherry tomatoes which complemented the pesto drizzle. We received an Oreo cheesecake free of charge as a birthday dessert (very nice!) and ended up also ordering the Crème brûlée. It was light and just the right amount of sweet! The prices were affordable and the portions were perfect. Highly recommend!!! We had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back!

Crooner music softly coming through the speakers set the tone for a relaxing vibe during the meal. The service was good, but for a party of 6 the table selection could have been better. It felt cramped, and table space was lacking for the food we ordered, and emptied plates sat too long before being picked up. Diana had the Prosciutto Brie and Arugula Flatbread, and I had the Salmon Piccata. Hers was so-so, and mine was delicious and filling. The lemon white wine sauce, mmm, good. We finished it off with Tiramisu, Creme Brulee, and Key Lime Pie, a good finish for sure. Possibly could have enjoyed our time more with more space to work with.
