I am going to church today jan 1st and the dispatcher who got my order got it reverse. instead of picking me up at my address, the driver went to my drop off point and then when I called, the one who received it answered in a condescending tone and lecturing me on how to order a cab! He didn't reiterate where I'm going and where to pick up. The worst part is he didn't apologize. This rude dispatcher should be fired cause he's not representing your company's standards. THEY CHARGE A 20% SURCHARGE IF YOU PAY ON A CREDIT CARD!!!!!!! Of course I was unaware this obnoxious company wouldn't allow you to pay with a CC. I was in a rush to get my dog to the vet. OF COURSE I didn't have time to stop off at an ATM to get cash out!!!!! When I asked the driver(as a formality.....assuming paying with a credit card was fine)....if it's ok for me to pay with a credit card, he said "NO!!!!! NO CREDIT CARD!!" Seems he did not speak English beyond that phrase. Since I was stressed to get my dog to the vet on time, my only option was to call the company while in the cab. The girl who answered definitely had an attitude with me. This attitude came after she told me I can only pay on a credit card if I also pay a 20% surcharge. These people KNOW nobody carries cash anymore!! It's a racket. I got to where I needed to go‍(for an additional 20% surcharge ).....but not before the driver took me to the wrong address(with not even the slightest apology). Mexicana Cab Service sucks. Starting in the NE Bronx then from Astoria for FIVE years, i have had OUTstanding service from everyone at Mexicana. Today's vintage Lincoln limo was indeed a surprise as he picked up right on time at my daughter's home in Astoria for LGA. Fare was a very reasonable $14 which i paid in welcome cash. Despite the January 2 morning traffic he was fast and knowledgeable, gracious professional middle aged gentleman indeed proud of his gleaming spotless car! I've used Mexicana for many years, since 2000, to go to work and to other weekend locations. They've usually been very reliable. My parents have been using this car service for many many years. They are always reliable and fast with their service. The drivers are always so kind. For a while when I was living with my parents I could resort to Uber and Lyft. Now that I have moved away and since they're not very tech savvy, I know they can still rely on this service. I would rather walk 2 miles than take a taxi. I think of cabs and car service as luxuries or bail outs in times of desperation. Laziness is not an excuse for me to take a taxi. In short, I rarely use Mexicana but they are programmed on my cell so that within 5 minutes I know a car will be waiting as soon as I step out of my apartment building. I've used Mexicana whenever I've needed to head to the airport. The rates are reasonable and comparable to a metered taxi. The drivers drive fast and safely. They are also friendly without being creepy or invasive. Cars are clean and comfortable. Mexicana is a reliable car service. I've also used Mexicana one week straight when I twisted my ankle and couldn't walk. They got me to work in time and were never a minute late when I called them. For that I am grateful. I got a ride back from lutherin hospital back to my house and I accidentally dropped my phone in the back and left out the car with out it when we arrived to my building. I ran across the street to the laundry place to call Mexicana and tel them my phone was in the cab and they said the driver found the phone but he won't bring it back for free he charged me the ride fee $10 to bring it back smh after I tipped him $5 with the ride charge when he bought me home., please call another service Mexicana is no longer cheaper then everyone they charge the same some times more all these drivers are thieves and money hungry thugs never again will I use them and I will report them constantly read more

Mexicana is great... when they actually show up. The past 2 times I have tried to use their service, I was told a car would pick me up in 12 minutes. The first incident I am referring to happened after last week's big snowstorm. I needed a car to get to work and called ahead of time that same morning to make a reservation. I waited outside in the freezing cold, first 10 minutes and then 20. When I was finally able to wrench my frostbitten fingers out of my pockets, I tried calling the base (I kid you not) 20 TIMES. Yes-- 20 TIMES with NO ANSWER. I frantically tore off running towards one of the main roads and after 10 more minutes, was able to hail a cab and make it in to work-- 15 minutes late and soaking wet. The second "offense," as I will call it, happened tonight. Since the drivers at Mexicana are so nice, I decided to give them a second shot. I called for a cab and was told that it would be in front of my house in 10 minutes. Well... That didn't happen. I attempted to contact the base but since no one answered, I gave up after 2 tries. I was in a huge time crunch so I called Santo Domingo, who showed up in 8 minutes. While I was inside the cab en route to where I needed to go, my phone began ringing. Guess who it was? A whole 32 minutes after my scheduled pick-up time, Mexicana had arrived. =( read more

I needed a car service to get from my apartment to the Port Authority bus terminal, and I was gradually moving out. Talk about having a ton of crap. I was really worried about finding a reliable car service since I couldn't just get on the subway. Mexicana was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and professional. My driver put all of the luggage in the trunk, and he opened the door for me. He was friendly but not annoying or creepy. He also had the courtesy to drop me off on the correct side of the street at my destination. Ten steps above yellow cab on that one. Check out the website for fares. I like that it is a flat rate fare, though my driver quoted me a lower price. It worked out for him; he just got a much larger tip. read more

My mother-in-law uses this car service everyday to go to work. Every morning, she calls and they're there within 5 minutes. I usually call this car service if I need a quick ride to Astoria or Jackson Heights. The operator tells you how many minutes it will be until they get there and they're usually accurate. My wait has never been more than 10 minutes, even on a weekend. The drivers are usually polite and friendly once I give them a nice big smile. Just hate that every driver charges a different amount for the same ride. read more

Beware of price inflation quotes when you call Mexicana Car Service. It has happened to me twice with one rude female that answers the phone. One time I was quoted (and paid) $70 for a fare that I later on I found out that Mexicana charges $40; just today, I was quoted by the same attendant, $34 for a $25 fare. When she was confronted by another attendant, she alleged that "she had misunderstood my destination". I stated my destination three time while trying to reason the price. I need a van to move 25 boxes and a 40" TV at the last minute. Mexicana got me a large van for $50 in 10 minutes! The driver, sorry didn't get his name, loaded every piece himself and then unloaded everything at the other end. My family and I have been using Mexicana's car service for over 15 years and they have always provided great service. Their vehicles are clean, drivers are quick to pick up, and prices are very low. If you're anywhere in the central and western Queens area and in need of car service, you really can't go wrong with these guys. Not sure if the drivers accept credit cards. I also use them to pick up large items, such as a large screen TV or luggage from the airport. They have big SUV's and vans for that kind of stuff. read more

According to Uber it would be $23.00 but i love Mexicana and I called them. Unfortunately, it was $48!!!! Yes, you read that correctly. I thought they made a mistake but they didn't. I used these guys for years...great for picking u up and taking you to the airport, and almost impossible when you want them to pick you up from the airport to take you back home in queens. thats the main problem, they don't know where to wait for you when you arrive even though you tell them the terminal and airline. Last time was the worst. They said 20 min and never came ...it was very cold and we came from the Caribbean. it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit. We were out looking for the guy, i called back many times and told them im taking a cab, to which they said they already charged my creditcard. I called back from a cab later telling them to refund it, and eventually they said the manager approved it. I found on my next bill that i was charged for a ride that never happened. i used to like them, but im looking for any other company now that is a bit more reliable or honest. read more

I've used them twice so far, and I've been very pleased both times. Courteous drivers, arrived earlier than they said they would, driver helped put luggage in the trunk, priced a bit cheaper than my previous car service. I don't want to have to think about my car service - will they be on time, will the driver be a psycho, and so far, with Mexicana, I haven't had to. 11/14 - Two years later and they're still the only car service I call. I've known this company since I got to the United States and I've always trusted this service. Prices change after a long time like the economy demands but if it's raining or snowing they don't play with the prices. I like that and how reliable they are. The drivers know what they're doing because of their experience and they're always well-dressed. Cars don't smell like smoke so it's safe to bring my baby along. I've seen a few bad reviews about this service but I think it depends on your own experience and how you talk to whom is providing the service. The only bad experience I had with Mexicana was like two weeks ago. I was waiting for the car for 20 mins, it was raining so I understand there's high demand; at the end it stopped raining so I canceled the service. Best Car Service in Queens. They are reliable and prices are decent. You can call ahead for cars but usually they have something available if you give them at least 15 minutes depending on where you are in Queens. The dispatcher will usually give you the time the car will be there even getting as specific as 8 minutes or whatever the wait is. The cars are usually always nice as well as the drivers. I have requested vans from them before in the past and they were able to accomodate. read more

I find their Limo Drivers to be professional, on time, which is very important when you have a flight to catch.Their Cars are spacious, clean and comfortable with lots of legg room. My Driver was clean shave and well dress, help me with my luggage and opened the door for me to exit the cab. Their price a very reasonable by New York standards. He got me to my destination (JFK airport) without a hitch. Will certainly used this company again. Highly recommended. read more

Because taxi drivers at JFK have no idea how to get anywhere in Queens. The last straw was a driver who went right past the house even when I told him we were there. I had to practically yell to get him to stop and let me out. Then he was angry with me because his GPS couldn't find the place. I love New York (mostly) but it is a lot of work. Mexicana makes going to and from the airport one less thing to haggle over. [As I side note - I tried reporting the driver through 311. Someone graciously took my complaint but amazingly the phones were always busy and no one answered my email to set up a date for an interview. In the end I got a letter saying I had waited too long.] By comparison any grief I might get from Mexicana (none so far), couldn't compare. read more

I had a great experience with Mexicana. They took me from Brookyn to JFK airport. I called the night before to make the reservation and the dispatcher was friendly and easy to communicate with. The car arrived on time and was very clean, the driver was personable and professional, and I had a nice, comfortable air-conditioned ride without any music or radio or cell-phone use. The fare was also very cheap--less than I expected and better than a yellow cab. I will definitely use Mexicana the next time I need a car service. read more

Ridiculous pricing. Tried to charge me $35 for a 9 minute ride, which he reduced to $30 after a lot of haggling. Yellow taxis are around $18 for the same ride, and uber quoted me $20. Only rode them because my building called them, have since asked my doorman not to use them again. Also really did not appreciate being called "honey" by someone who is a professional driver. Will never use them again, going with uber, lyft, or just a regular yellow taxi. read more

If i could give zero stars, i would. Cabbie got into an accident. Drove like a douchebag the whole time; tailgating up until the moment he got into an accident. Im not going to lie and say i got hurt, but it does catch a person off guard being thrown forward in a car so suddenly. They completely disregarded any concern for inconveniencing my schedule or risking their clients safety. And made me pay for a horrible cab ride. Not even "credit" for a future cab ride. They obviously show no concern for the safety of their clients. Being fast is one thing, being reckless is another. read more

I've used Mexicana twice now after reading reviews on Yelp. It is indeed a terrific service. In the past I have frequently used a big name black car service; Mexicana is better and much less expensive. The drivers show up on time, in clean well maintained cars. On my last trip from Sunnyside to JFK, the driver left the traffic-jammed highway and took side road in a route that just amazed me, and got me to the airport quickly. After using them once, their customer service recognizes my number when I call back, and they have my address information already in the system. Seems like a very well managed company and I highly recommend. read more

Car service companies are not without flaws. Mexicana has its flaws, but it makes up for it in customer service. Once I left a phone in their car on the way to the airport - the guy was on his way home for the day, but they still managed to find him and he came all the way back to the airport to bring me my phone! And today, the driver went the wrong way which wasted about 10 minutes, but then I called the dispatcher and they only charged half. They're responsive and listen to their customers. read more
