    Taco salad

Monday night, time to time, I go grab a taco salad Texan style with draft beer. It's cozy local Mexican restaurant I regularly visit.

Great place for quick and yummy Mexican food! The service is fast, efficient and good. The food is pretty good, I had the steak tacos and the steak had a great flavor to it. We were shocked by the size of this margarita! The guy asked my husband if he wanted a small or large and my husband said large thinking just a bigger cup and then this goblet comes out! lol, the more the merrier I guess! It's also super affordable, will certainly come back.

Omg Everything here is delicious But I will say this they have the best hot wings in Greensboro. They are the bomb diggity The service is excellent and they are always on top of things The ambiance is so cool and colorful My husband and I go there to eat at least twice a week

I was in the area so decided to stop in for lunch. The space is quite large and decorated nicely, bright colors and very clean. I had a chimi with some of the best black beans I've had anywhere. I love black beans but so often find them underseasoned and bland, not these, perfectly seasoned with a nice amount of queso fresco sprinkled on top, delicious. The chimi was loaded with tender chicken and topped with cheese sauce. A great lunch which makes me want to try more of the menu. The carnitas are calling me back. Next time.

I ate dinner here w a friend. The staff was friendly, the service was good, the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately, I found the food to be only so so, however, I would try them again.

Interesting - I think I've seen this guy before!

We decide to pop in here for an early Sunday lunch, our first visit to this particular location. While we have visited other restaurants in this small, local chain, it had been quite awhile because so many new Mexican restaurants have opened here in the last 5 years or so, many with a more varied menu featuring interesting, somewhat authentic dishes - but we had always found the basic Tex-Mex dishes at the Mexico spots to be very good. This restaurant is located in a new strip center a good ways out Fleming Road, and it is bright, colorful with plenty of large windows. The place is well sized, with plenty of tables, a small bar area, and booths along the walls - I would opt for a table as these booths are not the least bit comfortable, every aspect seems too high, too low, too small, or too close. No one greeted us as we entered, in fact I had to look around to find someone to seat us - they were all clustered in the back dining area, either eating with or serving what appeared to be family members or friends, not especially taking care of business. Once seated, chips and salsa arrived quickly, along with menus. Then everyone disappeared again, and we were left to our own devices for more than a few minutes. In fact, we were getting up to leave, when a waiter appeared to take our order. We decided to stay. Alice ordered her standard, Chicken Enchiladas, and choose Verde Sauce this time. I ordered the Mexico Sampler so we could reacquaint ourselves with a number of items on the menu. The Sampler consists of a Chili Relleno, a Taco, a Burrito, an Enchilada, a Chalupa, with Rice & Beans - you basic Tex-Mex primer. Once ordered, the food came out of the kitchen fairly quickly. The salsa was good, a little on the chunky side, with a nice flavor, though there was little heat, and there was no hot sauce on the table - the chips were solid. The Chicken Enchiladas were very nice, with the chicken being very tender, no dryness, and the Verde Sauce was sharp and fresh, but there was scarcely any of it. The Chili Relleno was on the small side, with only a few strips of pepper, but the ground beef and cheese mixture inside was excellent. The Taco I chose was old school - a hard shell with ground beef - and it was super, loaded with well seasoned ground beef and cheese, and the shell never got soggy. I will never apologize for loving a nicely prepared taco of this type. Both the Burrito (seasoned ground beef) and the Enchilada (shredded chicken with enchilada sauce) were very good, as were the beans (added some salt) and the rice (love the small amount of peas, carrot, & corn included). The Chalupa was very ordinary, lacking in sharpness of flavor - maybe this is just not a dish for me. In retrospect, this was a more than solid Tex-Mex meal, with the right combination of freshness and flavor. The service was definitely more than a little off, which was a bit of a put off. In addition to the unfocused, fits & starts beginning, they placed a group of four loud, unkempt men in the booth beside us - with the entire restaurant open, and we were the only other customers in the place. Will definitely keep these service aspects in mind when considering a return visit, there are many alternatives for dining in this manner, and many are much more aware and focused. 4 1/2 stars for the food, 1 1/2 for the service!

    Chicken Nachos

I've gone to this restaurant many times and it seems to go down hill a little more every time I'm there. The salsa isn't very flavorful. It just tastes like tomatoes, very weak on other flavors. The dish I was given during my most recent visit was the last straw for me. I ordered chicken nachos which cost 6.95. I was given a plate that LITERALLY had 10 tortilla chips on it. Really!?! 6.95 for 10 chips. I couldn't believe they were able to serve that with a straight face. Recently, I've noticed the same skimpiness with other things as well. As an example, the chips and salsa. The basket is only about half full and they seem very hesitant to bring a refill. Additionally, the service is just ok. At least half of the time, something about the order is wrong and it's slow to get drink refills. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.

Don't usually feel compelled to leave reviews for Mexican restaurants because they have good food but nothing that stands out in my mind. This place was definitely different! Great friendly service, your own bowl for salsa (yay double dipping!), and best of all, the most amazing shrimp quesadilla I've ever had. Flaky, buttery texture on the quesadilla, with grilled shrimp and juicy pineapple in a blanket of tasty cheese. I wish I could eat that every day. Seriously everyone should try this place.

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

Extra parking is located in the back. The guac is the best! Perfectly seasoned and definitely not scooped from a tub. Tried the Carne Asada, Pastor, and Chorizo tacos. YUM! We brought a whole group to Kiosco for lunch, and had called ahead to have patio seating. I love that there's indoor and patio seating, so there's something for everyone. There happened to be a nice breeze that day also, so the outdoor seating was perfect for our group. For lunch, I had the burrito gordo, and gordo it was. I don't think I've seen a larger burrito from a sit-down restaurant. All of the fillings of the burrito were cooked very well, and the seasonings were on point. I don't know why I tried to eat all of it in one sitting, but I did and surprisingly didn't live to regret it. This place is great for parties of 1, 10, or more. True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall.
