This was not only the best food I had in Greensboro while visiting, the Asian taco was one of the best tasting and flavorful things I have ever had. You get to choose your protein, as a vegetarian I had the tofu and it was unreal good so I imagine all the meat choices are delicious as well. My family got the char su banh mi and loved it, and they also really liked the nachos with chicken. The staff were super nice and helpful. If I lived in Greensboro I would be getting those Asian tacos constantly. If you have the chance, I 100% recommend you try this place. read more

The name Bandito Bodega is extremely accurate, as the store itself is a small and unassuming looking place, with a charmingly decorated interior and some indoor and outdoor seating. It was very convenient to order at the cash register as soon as you walk in, and the staff was very patient and efficient. I adored the unpretentiousness and individuality of the place. It did not need any flashiness or grandeur- just some good food and good vibes. Now the food: WOW I was blown away by the pork belly garlic fried rice. The pork belly was so incredibly fatty and perfectly crispy, the shrimp add-on was juicy and well seasoned, and the fried egg over a bed of DELICIOUS steamy garlicky fried rice was absolutely perfection. Small restaurant big burritos. This is only my 2nd time enjoying a burrito from bandito and I'm impressed. Like who ever thought pimento cheese should go into a burrito? I never would but it works and it's delicious. The employee that took our order was super friendly, she opened up our umbrella so we could sit outside to enjoy the fresh air and the light rain. The chips were nicely salted and the salsa was delicious I only wish there was more than one cup of it. The menu is super random but hey if you can do multiple things well then do it! I tried this spot for lunch and got the chips and salsa which really can't go wrong there very good. And then I got a bowl. The bowl had steak and several other toppings. It was very very good. I would definitely try this spot out again for lunch. If you're into paying $15 or under for lunch great option they may have had some cheaper options but to be honest my company was paying for it so I didn't really care too much about Price. Service was great. Food came out pretty quickly. It's a little small area not very busy so definitely a few parking spots. Small tables on the outside so you can sit outside if you like to enjoy your food, which is what I did is right off of the highway so just to be mindful of that but definitely a great place to try if you are in the area and you want some pretty tasty Mexican food. read more

We were downtown recently and decided to stop into one of my favorites, Bandito Bodega. As a creature of habit, once I find something I love, I stick with it, and Bandito is a great example. Since my first visit to their truck years ago, I have always gotten the Southwest Pimento Cheese burrito/bowl. The combination of flavors is amazing, and the portion in the bowl is massive. I tend to get 3 meals from their burrito bowl, and love every minute of it. We almost always get our food to go, but while we wait they have some fun, tattoo style art adorning the walls to check out. I think the owner is friends with a tattoo artist if I remember correctly. Such great offerings here at this food truck turned brick and mortar spot! Their menu is split between Mexican and Asian dishes, in my opinion the Asian offerings are what really shone. We had the pork dumplings (in an incredible sauce), nachos (big, messy, cheesy like you want them to be)!, the pimento burrito and the oyakidon rice bowl. The rice bowl and dumplings were exceptional, the other thing were totally fine but not the showstoppers to me. I had this restaurant bookmarked because of all the great Yelp reviews. Finally, my craving for garlic noodles aligned with my desire to come here and I ended up ordering carry out for lunch. I called and placed my order over the phone. The young lady who took my order was really friendly and prompt. By the time I arrived, my order was already ready and sitting under a hot lamp, waiting for me. The same young lady from the phone warmly greeted me and checked me out. As I was finishing the prompts on the screen, she came around to bag up my order. She took care to place napkins, chopsticks, and a fork in the bag and to hand it to me directly. Overall, it was a great experience in service. The ambiance is casual and relaxed, typical of any fast-casual restaurant. At my earliest opportunity, I opened the box, which was stuffed full of pork belly, garlic noodles, broccoli, and scallions. The noodles had just the right amount of sauce, and the pork belly was perfectly cooked. The portion was so large that I ate some for lunch and finished the rest for dinner, and didn't need anything else either time. I seriously love this place. It's a tiny restaurant with nearly no seating and a unique interior theme, but this small joint boasts of some spectacular food. Stopped in for the first time, as they have been on my radar for some time, and glad we did! The brick and mortar restaurant is small, counter service with some seating inside and outside as well. We opted to sit inside. They have little stools, same as they had in art class when I was kid. The seating could be more comfortable, but the table was clean. The staff were very friendly, and the food we got was excellent! Prices weren't bad either for all the food we got. I would like to see them lean on a bit more to the Asian/mexican fusion and come up with some more truly eclectic combinations, but what we got worked. I particularly enjoyed the pickled carrots in the nachos as a nice touch, and the gojujang dip with the fries is a great accompaniment! I confess that when we arrived I saw the vibe to take away your food and eat at home, but we were too hungry for that, so we stay. The place is small, with just a few tables to eat but the service is super nice and helpful to understand the menu and choices available. Bathrooms: they are so nice and 1 person location. 5 out of 5 Ambiance: they didn't have many places to sit at as it is a very small spot. If you are coming with more then 5 people expect to eat outside or take it to a different location. I visited here for the first time in a year. Reason being was because they took the donburi off of their menu. I missed this atmosphere this place has, so I had to stop by. I decided to go with the Kimchi Fried Rice, which I'm glad I did. This dish was so delicious and fresh with a decent kick to it. Today was my first time at Bandito Bodega. I was overwhelmed by the menu as everything sounded so good! I decided to choose the pork belly and noodle dish with pork dumplings. They both were amazing! The blend of flavors in the noodle dish were perfect and the pork belly was perfectly cooked. I washed it all down with a large Mexican Coke. The restaurant itself is not very large so we opted to sit outside. It was fine on a day like today but I could imagine on a busy day it might be difficult to find a table. There's indoor and outdoor seating if anyone really wanted to eat at the restaurant, but you can tell is more of a takeout place The food was pretty good! The prices at the restaurant are pretty cheap too especially when you consider how giant the portions are. My favorite part of my meal was the Chori Queso. The parking lot is small and apparently the business next door doesn't take kindly to people parking in their spaces whether they are open or not...so take notice of the spaces. I know this place has to have a lot of business based on what I'm going to tell you next. If you are under 5'1 the tall counter can be a challenge to order and pay, but the slight inconvenience is ok, because I think everything on their menu must be fire. I only tried the Baja tacos and they are so far top tier tacos. I ordered one steak and one shrimp. At first I thought two tacos wouldn't be enough, but after eating the entire meal I realized it was enough. The steak was cooked to perfection and the shrimp was thick and tasty. The fresh toppings not only looked visually tantalizing, but tasted as if they picked them from a garden out back. The salsa was fresh and the chips tasted like they made them right before they boxed them. I topped it off with a Mexican Sprite. Worth every penny. Customer service was top notch. read more

Bandito bodega is my favorite takeout place! It's such a cute little gem of greensboro. The other night, I got off of work late and was scrambling to find someplace open to grab a bite. It was 10 minutes till they closed when I called. I felt guilty but the staff assured me it was totally OK! I rushed over, and they had it hot, fresh, and ready in less than 10 minutes. They serve Mexican Asian fusion, and my favorite is the big @$$ burrito. It features rice, meat, beans, cilantro, corn, shredded purple cabbage, sauces, and a meat of your choice. The service is fantastic (shout out to the server who always greets us here- she is so sweet), topped only by how fantastically scrumptious their food is. I highly recommend their Pork Katsu Sando or their Pork Belly Garlic Noodles. The portions are also quite generous, I've never once left still hungry or wanting for more. The only limiting factor is their small dining area, with 2 indoor tables and 3 outdoor table seating. Bandito Bodega has the best ahi tuna bowls in the 336 triad area. I've tried ahi tuna at many locations here in Greensboro area & none compare to Bandito Bodega. I hate that so many places I used to frequent just lacks good customer service and the food also doesn't taste as good as it used to , but Bandito Bodega still delivers great service & the same delicious food. I come to Bandito Bodega just for their ahi tuna bowl. It's a good size portion and very fulfilling . The ahi tuna is fresh and has this melt in your mouth texture. You can't beat the price point either ! I've tried ahi tuna at high end restaurants & at Asian fusion cafes but nothing beats how Bandito Bodega does it!
