Don't go! Went to Mexikind because it was one of the only restaurants open for lunch on a Monday. Service---First the ordering/paying process makes the line much longer than necessary. You order at the counter- the woman didn't write down our order so we had to repeat it several times for the process to start. Next you go to the register and pay where you have to re-tell your order for them to ring it up for you. It's self seating, self serve drinks- all fine. Food--We had fish tacos and the fish was "rotten tasting" and the person actually threw up in their mouth- this is someone who eats anything and everything so if they said it's bad fish I believe it. All other food was fine but unremarkable. Nothing to reflect the prices. Tiny shrimp in the shrimp quesadilla, chicken burrito was "fine" nothing at all worth describing. The best of all was my sons kid meal- he had a beef taco and it was good. We love food and usually have no problem anywhere we eat. For me to review and say "yuck don't go" says a lot. read more

The food here was better than average for a few items and just okay for others. My quesadillas were very tasty. My other family members got mahi-mahi burritos and they were just okay. The staff was very friendly and our take out order was for 9 people and was ready in 20 minutes. read more

Food was out to the table before our party even finished ordering. Huge portions...even the chips and queso! Every bite was delicious!!

I got the chicken burrito. That thing was huge! I don't remember the last time I had a burrito that large. It was pretty tasty. Felt like I was missing something. Maybe the guac. I also switched out the salsa fresco with the jalapeño salsa, which was good. I got a side of the habanero salsa and that was amazing! We came to get some margaritas and chips. The chips were OK and the guacamole was nothing special - just the standard mushy kind you'd get in Mexican restaurants. The margaritas were very disappointing. The standard lime one was just meh and the mango one was just not good all around. Had to mix it with some sprite in order to finish it. read more

So Good! We really loved their food and blue margaritas! Super friendly atmosphere with retro Franky Avalon and Annette Funacello movies with combined real surfiers. It has become our regular lunch spot while having our bay and beach fun in Corolla, NC. read more

First meal of this year's OBX vacation and it did not disappoint. Fish taco was great and medium salsa was awesome.

Stopped in just for some margaritas and chips, tried both the traditional lime margarita and the special mango one. The lime margarita tasted mostly like sour mix, not good. The mango margarita at least had a taste of mango, but nothing special. The restaurant warns about how hot their hot salsa is, so we tried the medium salsa since we usually like hot and spicy salsa. Even the medium salsa was too hot, not enjoyable with the salty corn chips. I have fond memories of the Bad Bean at this location, and if I ever come back here I will stick to only the food, tacos and burritos, that I didn't eat on this visit. read more

Loved our meal! The staff at the counter was friendly and helped us select the salsa and meat combinations. All the components (slaw, lettuce, pica, salsas) were fresh and flavorful. The special taco of the night was amazing - braised pork with jicama slaw. Plus beer on tap, guacamole, and a casual atmosphere that was perfect for an extended family. Good food fast. Mild salsa is very mild go for medium. For your burrito try adding chips (smashed) and queso! Good food.

Went here with a group of 7. They easily accommodated is. It is a a la carte order style with at table delivery. The food was pretty good. I tried to chicken mole burrito and a mahi mahi taco. They were both better than I expected. This place has a Chipotle like feel, but local flavor. Chips aren't fantastic but the salsas are fresh and good. This place is worth a try. read more

On vacation with my girlfriend and her family, stopped into Mexikind for lunch and it was pretty great actually! I got the pork barbacoa burrito and the chips and queso, which were both very good for the price. I compared it to a non-franchised version of Chipotle or Qdoba. The service was fine and the seating was of the same caliber. All in all, 7/10 would eat again. read more

The fresh guacamole is just avocado...which to me is not guacamole. It needs onions, tomatoes and maybe some jalapenos to make it guacamole. The chips are quite good, and my wife loved her chicken taco. I had the Chorizo Quesadilla and it was good, but not outstanding. I would go back if craving mexican food, but I wouldn't get the guacamole or pico de gallo. read more

We used to frequent this place when it was the Bad Bean, but now I'm not sure if we'll be back. Ordered the house specialty salad with sauteed shrimp for takeout. The shrimp were delicious and perfectly cooked. The jicama and pickled onions were great. However, almost half of my lettuce was brown - definitely not something that makes a good impression. Fortunately, The dressing came on the side, as it was supposed to be chipotle lime but instead tasted almost identical to the orange ginger dressing you get at Japanese restaurants and just wasn't very good. We also tried the shrimp taco and that was great, but didn't make up for the salad being half inedible. Staff was friendly, but a little disorganized, and the other diners seemed to be enjoying their meals. We'll probably try it again but won't go out of our way to do so. read more
