First, I understand that this whole experience is ENTIRELY MY FAULT for not being a sharper customer. Which is why this is a three-star and not a two-or one-star review. I was just stupid. And as a result, I paid around $300 for someone to just change a car battery. My car was having trouble starting. I hooked it up to a trickle charger and found that the battery was very low. I let it charge overnight. Even with a full charge, the car still had trouble starting. So, I took it to Meyerland Service Station. The service manager looked under the hood and said, "Yeah, you probably just need a new battery. Look at all that corrosion. We'll do a new battery." A couple of hours later, I get an unsolicited itemized list of all the other work (about $1200) that they wanted to do, which I didn't ask them for (including $44 for wiper blades, which is, uh, high.) I just wanted the car to start again and authorized only the work to change the battery, which was an $84 diagnostics fee and $204.48 for the battery which is quite high. Plus fees (presumably disposal fees) and taxes and boom, around $300 for changing a battery, which could have been half the price if I'd gone somewhere else. Again, this is entirely on me. I could have gone back over there with a friend to jumpstart the car and then drove to a service center elsewhere, but I was going to be stuck with that unexpected $84 diagnostic fee anyway. And, I just needed my car back. So I held my nose and willingly paid a hilarious amount for the battery. So, again, it's ENTIRELY ON ME for not being a smarter consumer. I should have gotten the battery changed at Walmart or anywhere else that drops in the battery for free FIRST, and then looked into repair shops if there still seemed to be a problem. Mid- and upper-range batteries from a number of vendors are in the lowish $100s, and lots of places install them for free. The waiting area is clean and pleasant, and the service manager seems like a genuinely nice, friendly guy. According to all the other reviews, they do great work. But I just can't get past putting myself in a situation where I end up paying $300 for a battery. read more

This place charged my friend on a fixed income of $700/mo over a $1000.00 to find the problem of the battery depleting in less than a week. Seems this vehicle has a battery drain on it. I had just taken it elsewhere where a new alternator had been installed but they said it needed a new one. This after only a week. We had changed out the car battery Three times ourselves. So finally I wrote "Rick" a letter and he called my friend and asked that the vehicle be brought in. After four days they called and said the vehicle was ready. A new battery was indicated they claimed. But the battery that was in it was only a year old! So instead of giving my friend most of her money back, they charged us yet more $260.00. I guarantee you this will not fix the vehicle. It will be dead again in less than a week. They also wanted to do a brake job on the car for the exorbitant price of $700. Update 2/7/2020 I've been coming here for about 6 years now & the service has only gotten better. I love coming here to get my car worked on by the mechanics. I spend most of my time talking to the lovely ladies Megan, Denise & Kristen! They are like family now & I always feel welcomed. I haven't had any issues with my Honda Pilot and the work they've done on it here. Rick is the best & Bobby makes me laugh everytime I come in. I had AC service performed on my Childcare bus at the cost of 2,667.62 and was given a 36,000 mile/ 3year warranty by Meyerland Service Station Owner Mr. Rick. The bus has traveled just under 13,000 miles in 2 years, which means it's still under warranty. I called the station and spoke with the receptionist , she looked up my file , and replied "yes, it's under warranty bring it in tomorrow ( 5/2/ 2024). I arrived at the station after traveling 35 miles only to have the service manager to come out VERY UNPROFESSIONALLY " what do you need" ? After taking my paperwork he told me that it would be a charge of 168.88 an hour to look at the bus. I asked for the owner and the service manger said" he was not available and I would have to come back. I responded sir" I was told to come today by the receptionist" he responded" the daughter! she told you that because she don't have to do anything". Had an oil change and tires rotated for my wife's Suburban. When the job was complete, my wife headed to the freeway to go to work. Literally ONE block from the freeway entrance one of her tires comes off! Lug nuts were not tightened at all!!! Thank God this didn't happen on the freeway! They fixed all the parts that were ruined but used cheap parts. I won't use them again. read more

I sold my car online to an out of state buyer. He was to fly in and drive the car home from Houston to St. Louis so I took my car into the service shop at this gas station to just have everything inspected for the journey. They did a minor tune up for $150 but called and told me the car was leaking oil from the distributor. I promised my buyer a leak free car so I agreed to pay $240 more to have a rebuilt distributor installed. They told me a simple $10 seal would not fix the problem. I paid them and took delivery of the car before turning it over to the new owner. The buyer and I became good friends and he called me a few months after the purchase to let me know his mechanic looked the car over and found the distributor was leaking oil. I told the buyer of the repairs I had done so he was surprised the car was still leaking oil from the same place. Since I was no longer in possession of the car I could not take it back to the shop. The repair was either done incorrectly or not done at all. Either way it was my first and last time at this place for repairs. read more
