I had a furnace replaced. I could not find where the filter was located found it was placed at the air intake vent. The filter placed there during installation was cut to fit the vent. I have not been able to find a filter that fits. I called and told them about this issue and if the filter could be relocated so I could use a standard size. I never heard back from them. I made an appointment for some plumbing repair. They came out, decided that they didn't have enough time for my repair, which was only a few hours, and wanted to reschedule. They insisted that I pay for the service call but that it would be applied to the repair on their return. They have never come back and refuse to refund the money that they stole from me. I scheduled a new air conditioning coil installation around June 24th. At the same time, they recommended a new hot water heater since the water heater needed to be moved to install the coil. 1. Hot water heater - Working perfectly; great job to the young plumber. 2. On October 30th, we turned on the air conditioner and blew air, but it was not cold. 3. After the installation, they forgot to connect the drain hose from the condenser to the drain. My hallway floor flooded, and my laminate floor now has enormous gaps between the planks. When the repairman returned a few days later to connect the drain hose, I pointed out the floor and asked a supervisor to call me back, but they never did. I also had them tape up the outside installation that goes over my copper pipe, which they took apart and never taped up the installation correctly. They fixed the two items that they never should have forgotten for free, but never addressed my flooring. 4. On October 28th, I turned the heat on because it was very cold, and the heat would not work. I checked the gas value, and it was in the off position. No problem. The Meyers Tech must have turned it off to change the coil, as my furnace and condenser are all housed in a small closet in the hallway. I went to turn on the gas valve that feeds my furnace; I could not move it. I used a pair of vice grips to open the valve, and the furnace is now working. Why didn't Meyers Tech, who turned the value off while making repairs, turn it back on? I called Meyers and asked them to have a supervisor call me about my floor, the valve, and the installation they didn't tape back up, no one has called me back. I have made two payments to this company, one on July 24th, 25, for 840.32 and the other on June 24th, 25, for 3,469.32. I would like to have the air conditioner that I just had fixed around three months ago blow cold air again and my floor fixed because of their incompetence in not reconnecting the drain hose they disconnected to make repairs. This is Meyers' company in Griffith, Indiana. Do not use them for HVAC! I just called Meyers at 0830 on Oct 31st, 25, and customer service just sent me to an owner's voicemail. I will update this review when something happens. Update - 31-OCT-24 A supervisor just called and said they would send someone out for free to look at what is going on with my air conditioner. I'm hoping for the best. The tech came out and saw a new issue: a leak in the condensing coil. They said it needs to be replaced and will get me a quote. At least this service was free of charge. We have used Meyer's for years now, our last experience with them was above all our expectations!!! First of all we needed a annual check up on our A/C unit, we met a service man named Dave, he was so professional and polite and was able to answer all our questions! Next just 3 days ago we were having some issues with our electrical service, they sent a representative named Chris, he analyzed our issues, and the next day sent a repairman named Mike. Mike couldn't have been more polite and respectful! He corrected all our issues in a timely manner. And to top it off their prices couldn't be beat!!! I know there are a lot of bad ratings, but I have to be fair. We have a natural gas free standing fireplace that would not stay lit. It would light, and be okay for a minute or so, then "click", and the fire would go out as well as the pilot. A young technician came out to fix it. He obviously was very young, and likely not qualified to be sent on the job. He vaccumed the burners, and said he felt it was okay then. It was still warm, so I didn't try using it for a week or so until it was a little cold in the morning. Same problem, after charging me $173.66. I went on youtube, and found videos showing me what was the likely problem. I fixed it myself, then went to Meyer's in Griffith to seek a refund. Within a few days I received a check for a little over $104.00 in the mail. I felt this was fair. The technician was very young, and likely didn't have much real world experience, so I don't blame him. He has to learn. The settlement was okay because they didn't lose any money because he didn't get the job done, and they really couldn't justify getting rid of him, so I thought it was a reasonable settlement. read more

No communication between lady who sets up jobs and plumbers! In the end, cost me $70 to have John show up and tell me "never seen a hot water heater like this" and that he wouldn't recommend messing with it. This all could've been dealt with if the lady whom books jobs had an experienced plumber(which I was told would happen, and never received the call from the plumber) speak with me before showing up at the house. DO NOT hire Meyer to do a job that isn't fixing a leak or replacing a toilet. They will tell u they can do the job, then show up and tell you all the reasons that they can't do the job. Ps. Technician John was very nice and knowledgeable. If I would've had the chance to speak with him over phone about job prior to showing up, like it was told to me by the booking lady, he would've not showed up to attempt job. We had Joe come to our house for an estimate. We agreed on a price and he said he will send us the contract later. We had most of the water pipes changed by this company . After few days of work, we were called and said they were done. Checked water pressure, everywhere was fine but the kitchen and laundry room were not done. We were told that was not included. It shocked us, why wouldn't we want the kitchen done when we had our meeting in the kitchen with Joe and he knew that was the main reason. This company, lied to us and we had to pay another $800 to get the job done. Joe agreed to a different price because he knew we were going to pick a different company for that price. We recently purchased a house and needed to replace the furnace and install a new air conditioner. Went with Meyer's because of the friendly sales representative that we believed to be very genuine. Unfortunately, there was a "miscommunication" that forced us to pay a lot of extra $$$ in hidden costs. The main issue was the furnace was replaced and they were planning on simply letting all of the water just pour into the crawlspace. They claim that all companies consider that to be a normal business practice. Maybe I am new to home ownership, but I don't see making my crawlspace an underground pool to be normal. The plumbing work to tie it to the main drain cost us an extra $1,000 that wasn't included in the quote. Next time I will be more careful in making sure the fine print is well understood. I've used them a couple of times now for heating, air-conditioning and plumbing. Prompt service with call-ins before they arrive. Replaced my entire HVAC system and they did a professional job. One of my good friends of 18 years told me that her water heater had gone out and She needed it replaced. She called Meyers a couple times and couldn't get through. the dispatchers there are great people and really try to get to everyone but the place only has 2 dispatchers... they need at least 2 more to keep up with the call volume. BEWARE!!! I became a member of the VIP program. One of the perks is a 15% discount on repairs (per the website). My humidifier thermostat wasn't working properly according to the technician and he suggested a whole new humidifier system rather than repairing the thermostat. A company rep came out and gave a $500 estimate. At no time did the estimator say the 15% discount was included. When it came time to pay the bill I asked for the 15% discount. First I was told that this is a "contract" job and the 15% discount doesn't apply. After complaining to the receptionist, I was put on hold, and then told that Kevin had already figured in the 15% discount when I received the estimate. Two issues come to mind, first, no one ever told me the 15% was already included in the estimate and second, if this was a "contract" job supposedly the 15% didn't apply. This company seems to be hit or miss. My family has dealt with them years. Either they are awesome or disappointing. My Senior Citizen parent scheduled a Furnace cleaning and check up over a month in advance. They called to reschedule on the day of (12/11) for December 27. They gave my mother like twenty reasons why could not come out. Ok maybe maybe it wasn't 20 excuses. From the technician having a personal issue to the high heat in September. So I called to find out if the service could be done sooner......The person who answers the phone has an excuse for everything. She had NO concern for customer service nor did she care about customer loyalty. She basically said they could not come out sooner and if we had to find someone who could do the job just let them know. I told her if we did find someone else to do the job, we would never use Meyer again. That would be two house holds and word of mouth. She truly could have cared less. Yea she said I am sorry and yea she was quick point out she was just doing her job. My big issue with this whole thing was all Meyer had to do was contact us and tell us they had to reschedule. As a customer I do not need to know about their company problems. It sort scared me that unseasonal temperatures in September was still an issue for them in December. We had our furnace go out during the first cold period (20 degrees) in early November late on a Thursday night. Meyers installed this furnace about 13 years ago. Called them Friday morning at 8am for service and they agreed to send someone out and would get back to me. Didn't hear back and I called them at noon for an update. They promised assistance between 1 and 4. Technician showed up at 3. In about 15 minutes he let me know the blower was out and he didn't carry this part and it would be next week before they could order and replace it and it would cost $1,100. I told him we would like to replace the blower. I didn't hear anything from Meyers throughout the weekend so I called them Monday morning for an update on fixing it. They said they would call back with a time / day to fix it. I did not hear anything back all day so I called them at 4pm. Meyers offered to fix it on Thursday afternoon 1 to 4. No morning options and afternoon options had no flexibility for our work schedule. Very cold throughout the weekend and week leading up to Thursday. Technician called Thursday around 3 that he was heading over to install the blower and the bill would be $1,200. Technician arrived and had the blower installed and furnace working in about 30 minutes. Bill total was almost $1,400! I remained calm and gave him a check. Technician took my check and email address and said they would send or email a receipt. I waited for over a week and no receipt was emailed or mailed. I then called Meyers and asked for a receipt. I just received the receipt in the mail about three days later. This was hands down the worst communication I have ever seen from a local service company, total lack of empathy, and no sense of urgency during cold weather. Almost a week to fix a furnace, a price that went throughout the process, and to top it off I had to call for the receipt! Meyers is bad! read more

Gave me window between 9 am and 12 pm. Called this am to make sure someone coming for this check up and confirmed the appointment sometime later since they were on a job in Withing. Yet someone from the company called me 2 hours later wanting to reschedule the appointment for another day...... Are you kidding !!!! . Not reliable ! No body knows what is going on . They expect people staying home waiting for their calls. However people have to make a living as well .The person in charge of the jobs and work schedule needs help . We bought a home in NWI and our inspection recommended that the A/C be repaired before we closed. The previous owner handed us a receipt at closing from Meyer's saying the A/C units had been inspected and were functioning correctly. We moved in and it was clear that the A/C did not properly cool the house. Called a different repair service, who identified leaks in the unit and low coolant levels. Would not recommend Meyer's as it seems they claim to do work that clearly was not done. read more

We bought a new furnace from Meyer's and wondered for about 12-15 months why it seemed less efficient than our old one. Then it started clicking off. And it required several home visits to check it out, which cost us at least $84 every time. Their professional advice to us, no lie, was that we were buying filters that were too good and we should "buy cheaper filters" and everything will work better. We tried that because, well, it was winter and we needed our furnace to work. About the fourth time it quit, completely frustrated, one of the technicians troubleshooting finally concluded and discovered they had sold us a new furnace with a faulty "smartboard." Essentially, the issues we were experiencing wasn't due to the type of filers we were buying at all. It was the fault of the manufacturer -- which the manufacturer's technician confirmed. Relieved, we listened to the guy order the part and schedule the installation...And then he wanted me to sign for the $84 service fee for his visit. When I objected to the owner about being charged $84 for his technician to come to my house -- the third or fourth time we were charged that fee -- to fix a flawed furnace they sold to us, he gave me the party line about company policy. Oh, they did offer to take some money off an air conditioner, as if I'd actually buy something from a company that cost me hundreds of dollars I didn't need to spend. That's not customer service. That's insulting. They sold us a bad furnace and took our money for more than a year as we tried to fix it and, once we figured out what was wrong, they refused to waive the "company policy" fee of $84? On Dec 4th, I noticed a unusual odor coming from our utility room...that's when I noticed black soot on the hot water heater... I called a plumbing company that I saw in an ad in the newspaper and was put on hold for 15 minutes, so I hung up and called another that also was in the newspaper...Meyers. I spoke with Paul, told him about my findings and 4 hours later I had a new hot water heater installed by Zach and Ryan...are you kidding me, they installed the new one, cleaned up and took the old with them, in one hour after arriving to our home... September 02, 2016 I placed a call for service on my water heater. I told the dispatcher that my water heater pilot light would not stay lit. A service tech. came out and told him what the problem was. He and I go down stairs in my basement and he pulls out my pilot light shows me that the wiring needs to be replace but assured me that the pilot was good. He proceeds to clean the area of debris and goes out to his van and comes back with wiring replaces the old with the new to my pilot. I'm watching as this goes on which takes about 15 minutes. He told me there would be a charge of $269.65 after he had finished but he would not tell me how much it would cost before he started. I asked for a detail receipt and was not given one at the time. I told Meyer's if they did not provide me a receipt I was going to call the better business bureau, then I was told that the had mailed it to a different address. I received my receipt on September 16,2016. Diagnostic fee $69.00 which I had already told them what was wrong. Service Labor $99.00 for 15 minutes of work. $95.00 for miscellaneous materials this for the wiring because the pilot was mine's. I called Meyer's about these charges and was told that I was lying about the parts and I stood there and watched their service technician perform the job. I enquired about the parts and he said there was nothing wrong with the pilot just the wiring but I got charge for a new one. I told them to come out and review the part because I could show them proof that the part was mine's. Told by Meyer's that this was not there job, please reconsider before using this company.
