Very honest and professional. I called King out on the coldest night of year when my boiler would not ignite. I was desperate and they knew it. An inexperienced service man came out, did no real troubleshooting, just took some pictures, called into the office, and said my boiler was old and had a cracked heat exchanger (not true). His invoice noted: Found relief valve not working clogged up fuel tank is full, reducing valve is clogged up with the water, central part have water damage, psi no, bake heat exchanger has slite crack, recommended to speak with advisor before doing repair. He left with a final "good luck", without getting the boiler working, and charged $125 for the service call, without providing any service. He sent the pictures to someone else for guidance. Then, referred me to a salesman, for a new boiler quote. Brandon quickly called me and said he reviewed the pictures and confirmed I had a cracked heat exchanger, the main block of the boiler. A 140K BTU Burnham boiler would cost $7687, or $6500 if I pay cash, but had to make the decision that night. Before spending that kind of money, I wanted a second opinion. I called JSR. Joe came out and troubleshooted the problem using a meter, explained and followed the entire systems' operations, and got the boiler working within an hour. He charged me just $155, told me which part I needed to order to fix the immediate issue, and walked me through how to install it. I needed a new aquastat relay, since ours was not getting low voltage. The part was $200 vs $500 if he ordered and installed it. He agreed our 18 year old boiler was in rough shape, but with some maintenance, it could last us many more years. I installed the new part but could not get the boiler to run again. JSR was not able to come by, but referred us to Van Drunen. The serviceman also reviewed the entire system. They determined that during the install, I may have accidentally tripped the rollout switch near the flue or it may have tripped due to the closed damper. He reset the switch and confirmed the damper is wide open and holds position. He explained our DUNKIRK boiler could last up to 30 years if well maintained. While mine had not been, he still agreed it could last for years if I just serviced it and change out a few parts (reducing valve keeps filling and the pipe before is very corroded). He also agreed the heat exchanger is NOT cracked. He charged us just $145 ($78 for call and $70 for labor). Save yourself time, aggravation, & money and call Van Dryden or JSR. read more

Van Drunen air conditioning company was excellent in installing a new A/C air handler in my attic, other company gave quotes & explained they had to tear the ceiling out to installed a new air handler, Eric came out explained what was to be done (which he used existing opening &enlarged it) Upon arriving at my home Justin & Doug came covered the floors and when I tell you they cleaned up after themselves was unbelievable you couldn't tell they had did any work very impressive. The work was done in April which was still cold out when the middle of May it started to get hot it's wasn't cooling Justin came out to fill with freon because they couldn't tell how much was needed during the cold weather. I called back because it still was cooling & he couldn't explain & said Keith would call which I thought Keith never called & I was upset but fortunately he did a left a voicemail which I didn't see until weeks later, I'm saying all this to let you know the people @ company are reliable & my air is working fine. It was a new thermostat I wasn't use to using @ I had to give it time to cool the house down. I truly recommend this company for service. Van Drunen Heating & Air Conditioning replaced the chimney cap on my home 2 years ago. The service back then was so great, that I knew I had to call on them again. When I reached out to the business in May of 2024, I received a fair quote from Keith to replace my ancient a/c unit and old hot water heater. Keith also supplied me with details about the company's history, and past awards received. Dan performed the bulk of the installation work later, and he was assisted by Eric. Both kept me updated on their progress, and Dan discovered one of my air duct vents was closed... which turned out to be the source of why a particular room in my home had never received great air flow in the past. They came out that day to take a look and said we did need a new furnace. The heat exchanger was damaged. I would stay away from this company. My 82 year old mother had to call them to fix a furnace on New Years Day. Since it was a holiday they charged double but heat was essential so she paid $280 for the service call. ONE WEEK LATER the furnace stopped working again. This was on a Sunday so again had to pay $280. Guy who came out didnt know what first guy did but my mother called the office and all they said was it was a different problem- something about a pressure sensor. I would like to think that the first service call would check for any issues and a clogged sensor would be noticed. But I guess this company getting $560 is worth more than having a satisfied and happy customer. read more

Our AC went out on Friday, May 21 and Keith was able to come out on Saturday to give us a quote. He is so caring and professional! This was during an early hot period with high humidly! My wife has a lung problem and the heat and humidly was affecting her. We had another company come out for an estimate but they could not install for a few weeks.
