They had to reroute some pipes and had no problem with it and made the area look like neat. Carlos also installed a Smart thermostat and we love it. We can control our house temperature while on vacation and have the peace of mind that everything is running as it should. And I know I mentioned the service calls but Carlos is very committed to them. The other company told me I needed a new compressor for $1699 and they took only cash. After a repairman ran off with $453 of my aunt's cash, I decided I did not feel comfortable giving the HVAC repairman $2000 (with labor) in cash. So, I told him I would seek a second opinion. I called STI Heating & Cooling who were booked for the week so I made an appointment for the following week. Ted arrived on time and was very professional. He took a look at my unit (which is 42 years old) and told me I needed a Hard Start Capacitor for $173. He also checked the amount of Freon (R22) told me I might need a little. He installed the capacitor and added a little Freon and my unit start blowing extremely cold air. Ted's work was great! He told me his father had an old unit like mines and he keeps him father's unit working. I told Ted the other repairman thought I needed a new compressor and Ted suggested maybe the other repairman was not familiar with older units like mine. I am SO glad I called STI Heating & Cooling! The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. So yes, had I gone with that company, it would have cost me $2300. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He came in.. with the water heater... replaced it... and went on his way. Other companies, that followed directions, also came in higher than $2000. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Jason and Lakeland!
