    lunch Chicken ACP
    Lori R.

What a nice new Mexican spot in Rolesville! Place is huge, which is a good thing cause they were doing quite the huge business when we showed up for a Sunday lunch. Luckily we didn't have to wait for a small table, and were given three menus. Drinks, food and dessert. Lots of choices! We were immediately brought some excellent chips and salsa. Drink prices are crazy high. I wanted a skinny margarita and was shown one called El Jefe in the Shaker section for $19.99. When it arrived, I could see why it was so expensive. The whole shaker comes to the table along with a glass of it. So it's a lot of liquid, although not in a boozy way. Very refreshing. I got the Chicken ACP which was very tasty. I've had something similar at other restaurants that came with pineapple in it and that would take this dish to another level. He got a quesadilla bowl which was a large amount of food. One of the rare times he's brought leftovers home and lots of it. We were both impressed with the nice quality. Staff here are excellent. We had numerous folks who checked on us especially when His soft drink was low. Very impressed. We will be back!

My friend was raving about Mezcalito so I decided to try it out. I did carry out instead of eating in. I requested an extra bag of chips since there was only one small bag with my to-go oder for the dip trio and was charged $5 for a "large" bag which is insane. When I arrived home and opened the take out bag, it was missing my dip. I had already driven 20 minutes round trip and wasn't going to make it 40 so I called and asked for a refund on the dip. They said it would be back in my account within 3 business days. It's been 2.5 weeks now and still no refund. The food is really good and if it weren't for the price gouging on some chips and forgetting the $10 dip I paid for and not refunding it, this would have been a 5-star experience.

One of the most modern looking and upscale Mexican restaurants we've ever been to. The food choices were better than the usual fare. Portions were generous. Prices a little steep, but then again that's true everywhere lately. Service was good, however this was the longest we ever waited for our food after ordering at a Mexican restaurant. Usually, food comes out in 5 minutes, this time it took over 20 minutes.

VERY busy but honestly SO GOOD! They told us a 45 min wait... we were sat within 10 mins. Parking can be tricky because it's in a busy shopping center. There's an inside or outside. You can wait at one of the bars while you wait for a table. It's got lots of plants and lighting inside so very cute. My husband ordered guac and chicharon because he's keto. Came out a little later than expected but still he loved it and said he will order it EVERY time. Chips are good but have a salt lime flavor. I got the birria tacos. One thing I loved about their drink menu is there were TONS of photos. We didn't order one but maybe next time!

Service was amazing!! Our server Itzel was welcoming and very personable. She made our experience feel like we were visiting family instead of going to a restaurant. She cared about our experience and was constantly checking on us. Food was great. If you are looking for great ceviche definitely try the Ceviche Frescura. Amazing flavors!!! Mescalito is definitely our favorite Mexican restaurant since our move to North Carolina.

Tried out the new Mezalito in Rolesville. It's a good Mexican spot, worthy of a try. The restaurant is divided into 2 sections downstairs, with an upstairs patio for when the weather warms up. The music is LOUD, so not the spot for an intimate conversation. The menu is standard Mexican/American fare. All the usual suspects are represented. Mixed drinks choices are plentiful and portions are large. Service is quick and attentive. Time from order to service less than 10 minutes. Warm chips and house-made salsa brought to the table with the drinks. Tried an ACP (Arroz con Pollo) with a sampler of chicken, steak and shrimp. It's priced ala carte this way, but couldn't decide on a protein. It's a nice-sized portion, with plentiful helpings of proteins atop rice and vegetables. Of the 3, shrimp was the most tasty - nicely spiced and cooked just right - crisp crunch on the outside, firm and not mushy on the inside. Definitely will order this again next time - maybe with one of the other options. I can't say that there's much that's unique about this spot. But the service and food are good. Prices are reasonable, and it's close to home. Definitely a keeper. Welcome to Rolesville!

Steak tacos on flour tortillas with a side of chicken soup. Yum!

Mezcalito is something different for this area and it works! The building itself is unique amongst the surrounding businesses, and walking up to it you just feel like you're in for a fun time. Inside was more simply decorated than I expected, with white walls, black booths and lovely greenery hanging from a high ceiling bar. The open space is nice, but be prepared, it's loud (music and echo). But we're here to see how the food tastes. They do serve chips and salsa upon sitting down. Chips are warm and salted, and the salsa is a bit smokey - I really enjoyed it but wonder if not all would. The menu is large, with lunch specials on the back. Of note, the specials are available on the weekend! I got two steak tacos and chicken soup as my side instead of beans and rice. I love Mexican chicken soup and theirs is fantastic! Chicken, rice, tomatoes, cilantro and onion make for a light but filling combination. The tacos were so delicious! You can get flour or corn tortillas. The steak was cooked perfectly. There are larger plates good for sharing such as their meat platters - which I'll be back for. I ordered a oaxacan old fashioned to drink and it was very good. Mezcal based, smokey, with a cinnamon stick. Most of the drinks (from the look of them on the menu) weren't my style but could be good judging from my cocktail. I found the service attentive and welcoming. The place was buzzing on a Saturday afternoon. Parking in this newer area is ok, we had a little trouble finding a spot but did come at a popular time. Try it out! This could become a favorite!

Great food and service. A lot of bang for your buck! The front room was cold and seemed very "industrial" The back room was warmer And more inviting.

I've been to the new location Mezcalito opened in Midtown Raleigh twice this month. The environment is amazing. It gives boho, tropical vibes with natural wood finishes and an incredible wall of beautiful live plants. I was impressed! Staff was super helpful and friendly. My burrito bowl was so good! Protein was moist, flavorful and very well seasoned. The portion size is also worth mentioning, super generous protein and garnishes in the dish. They served a crunchy fried tortilla that was a nice touch to the overall experience. Their drinks also look so good! I'll have to come back to try them.

The restaurant was clean, spacious, and welcoming, with music playing at a comfortable level. The aesthetic was beautiful, with flowers and greenery adding to the vibe. Service was prompt, getting us seated right away. The food, specifically the tostada shrimp, was flavorful but PACKED with spice - a surprise for me, but still delicious . My husband ordered the enchiladas delish and the horchata was so good it had an authentic flavor and the right amount of cinnamon.

Delicious meal with consistent service every time we go. The first time we went it was a weekday, which was slower. The food was OUTSTANDING and our drinks were delicious. The second time we went was a Saturday night and it was packed, but the service and food were still top notch. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful presentation across the board, food and drinks both. Not only beautiful but the food was delicious as well. They have large menu with something for everyone so there is no issues there. It is relatively new so wait times have been long during peak hours. I am excited for warmer weather when the upstairs outside seating / patio will be in use.

Tried the Fajita Quesadilla. A beautiful and well stuffed quesadilla is grilled then quartered for the plate. Served with rice and shredded lettuce, guac, pico and sour cream. The portion is big, it's served piping hot within minutes. Margaritas are cold and well mixed - not too strong, not too weak. Shout out to Luis, who took care of us. He is super-attentive, charming, funny and pleasant and does a great job. As an example - we split our entree... and without being asked he brought an extra plate. This might not seem like a big deal, but somehow this nearly never happens unless we ask. Great work, Luis - thank you! This may well turn out to be our go-to Mexican spot in town. GO!

I got the exact same things - margarita, wings, and carne asada burrito - the tastiness and presentation of the margarita made my eyes roll back in ecstasy - and the food was delish. When he brought the bread and oil, he was able to take balsamic vinegar and draw the number 25 on the dish (we are soon to celebrate 25 years of marriage). Our 1st course was a plate of Crustini, prosciutto, provolone, burrata and balsamic marinated tomatoes. No problem finishing that. The atmosphere of this place is semi-casual. We were tucked in a little corner of a semi-private room, but could hear the patrons around us. Yet, it was not bothersome. For entrees, we both got pasta. My husband ordered the spinach noodled lasagna, which he told me was great. He couldn't finish his portion. As for me, I got the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. You can tell they used San Marzano tomatoes in their sauce. So good. I too, could not finish, so we get to eat this again. Make a reservation so you don't take a chance as a walk-in or bar patron. We loved that they said our name when we arrived at the proper time. Our waiter told us that the owner is from The Bronx, but he traveled to Bologna, Italy, and gets inspired by the dishes he tried there. Menu changes daily. We love that he went and treated us to some special treats (the dessert was a Limoncello tart. The top of the custard was bruleed, and it was served with tiny spoons and a dollop of real whipped cream. The plate was sauced with raspberry puree. Oh, the bottom was a crunch crust to add texture and flavor. Last thing, my Moscato D'Asti was imported from Italy. I like the pear flavor that comes through while drinking this chilled, bubbly wine. I hope you go there and try someone from the new menu. It will be nice to go again.

It was a bittersweet moment and I'm glad we chose Cape Fear. The drinks were constantly filled and her service was one of the best I have ever had at any restaurant. I ordered a bunch of food, knowing it would be my last time ever having their risotto, clam chowder, and hushpuppies, along with their delicious fried seafood platter. I had told Kelly I was moving so she made it a spectacular visit and went above and beyond. I will miss Cape Fear. It reminds me of The Hamptons. It's casual but classy. Zero stars. I could…read morebe wrong, but I believe this is the first "terrible" review I've left on Yelp. We just left this "restaurant" after horrible service before even finalizing our entree orders. This was our first time trying it, and we were excited because we love all kinds of seafood. The restaurant was not very busy. The waitress was friendly and helpful at first. We ordered a mini-crab cake appetizer, which was brought out promptly. At that point we began placing our entree orders. My wife ordered a flounder basket. I then ordered the shrimp taco meal. My order was to come with 2 tacos. So, I made a simple request: one with grilled shrimp and one with fried shrimp (since they serve both). I then received a lengthy, stammering explanation of how "they" don't let them do that. I offered to pay the higher of the two prices and explained, since it was our first time there, I was hoping to try different options. However, she maintained this could not be done. So, I requested to speak with a manager. She seemed surprised, but said, " okay," and went to the back. For the next 5 minutes, I waited (a bit annoyed, since I was hungry and knew our order was not even in process). After a little more than 5 minutes, she came back and said, "you can still talk to a manager if you would like, but they asked me to explain ..." Then she went into an explanation that didn't make a lot of sense. I also, at this point was not interested in explanations. It was clear to me that this restaurant has no interest in accommodating even the simplest of customers requests. I asked her for our check and told her we would finish our appetizer, pay, and leave. She told me she could get the manager, but at that point, I told her there was no need. It was clear to me the manager tried to avoid having the initial discussion in the first place, hoping the waitress could get me to accept the answer and move on. We paid and left. I'm usually a very generous tipper (maybe even too generous sometimes). I try to error in the direction of more, but less. My wife is the same, having worked in the service industry, including waitressing for many years. In this case, I left no tip, and wrote a brief explanation on the merchant receipt. I had noticed some of the "don't recommend" reviews on Yelp prior to checking it out, but sometimes I view those as one-offs. In this case, I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with the reviews indicating they will never be back. Even if ultimately I could not get what I requested, and was even still unconvinced as to a legitimate reason, had this been handled with even a modicum of respect for a paying customer, I likely would have refrained from reviewing at all, instead of this negative review. At no point during this situation was I rude, loud, argumentative, or inappropriate in any way. When a manager doesn't care, that attitude permeates the business. As for the mini crab-cakes, they were okay, but not what I would have expected for the price.

Our waitress was awesome, she was friendly and quick with the service. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were delicious. Unfortunately, those were the only two things we enjoyed about Aye Toro. The food was extremely bland, almost flavorless. When my husband and I took our first bites, we both looked up at each other and both knew exactly what the other was thinking. There was no spice, nothing. Mexican food is supposed to be flavorful but this was like...boiled chicken without the spices. For $17 for a plate of bland food, I was super disappointed and felt like I wasted $80 for the night (two meals and two margaritas with a 20% tip). When we come back for trivia, we might stop by for margaritas beforehand but I can't imagine Aye Toro staying in business if they keep serving flavorless meals.
