One of the most modern looking and upscale Mexican restaurants we've ever been to. The food choices were better than the usual fare. Portions were generous. Prices a little steep, but then again that's true everywhere lately. Service was good, however this was the longest we ever waited for our food after ordering at a Mexican restaurant. Usually, food comes out in 5 minutes, this time it took over 20 minutes.

VERY busy but honestly SO GOOD! They told us a 45 min wait... we were sat within 10 mins. Parking can be tricky because it's in a busy shopping center. There's an inside or outside. You can wait at one of the bars while you wait for a table. It's got lots of plants and lighting inside so very cute. My husband ordered guac and chicharon because he's keto. Came out a little later than expected but still he loved it and said he will order it EVERY time. Chips are good but have a salt lime flavor. I got the birria tacos. One thing I loved about their drink menu is there were TONS of photos. We didn't order one but maybe next time!

Tried out the new Mezalito in Rolesville. It's a good Mexican spot, worthy of a try. The restaurant is divided into 2 sections downstairs, with an upstairs patio for when the weather warms up. The music is LOUD, so not the spot for an intimate conversation. The menu is standard Mexican/American fare. All the usual suspects are represented. Mixed drinks choices are plentiful and portions are large. Service is quick and attentive. Time from order to service less than 10 minutes. Warm chips and house-made salsa brought to the table with the drinks. Tried an ACP (Arroz con Pollo) with a sampler of chicken, steak and shrimp. It's priced ala carte this way, but couldn't decide on a protein. It's a nice-sized portion, with plentiful helpings of proteins atop rice and vegetables. Of the 3, shrimp was the most tasty - nicely spiced and cooked just right - crisp crunch on the outside, firm and not mushy on the inside. Definitely will order this again next time - maybe with one of the other options. I can't say that there's much that's unique about this spot. But the service and food are good. Prices are reasonable, and it's close to home. Definitely a keeper. Welcome to Rolesville!

Steak tacos on flour tortillas with a side of chicken soup. Yum!

Mezcalito is something different for this area and it works! The building itself is unique amongst the surrounding businesses, and walking up to it you just feel like you're in for a fun time. Inside was more simply decorated than I expected, with white walls, black booths and lovely greenery hanging from a high ceiling bar. The open space is nice, but be prepared, it's loud (music and echo). But we're here to see how the food tastes. They do serve chips and salsa upon sitting down. Chips are warm and salted, and the salsa is a bit smokey - I really enjoyed it but wonder if not all would. The menu is large, with lunch specials on the back. Of note, the specials are available on the weekend! I got two steak tacos and chicken soup as my side instead of beans and rice. I love Mexican chicken soup and theirs is fantastic! Chicken, rice, tomatoes, cilantro and onion make for a light but filling combination. The tacos were so delicious! You can get flour or corn tortillas. The steak was cooked perfectly. There are larger plates good for sharing such as their meat platters - which I'll be back for. I ordered a oaxacan old fashioned to drink and it was very good. Mezcal based, smokey, with a cinnamon stick. Most of the drinks (from the look of them on the menu) weren't my style but could be good judging from my cocktail. I found the service attentive and welcoming. The place was buzzing on a Saturday afternoon. Parking in this newer area is ok, we had a little trouble finding a spot but did come at a popular time. Try it out! This could become a favorite!

Great food and service. A lot of bang for your buck! The front room was cold and seemed very "industrial" The back room was warmer And more inviting.

I've been to the new location Mezcalito opened in Midtown Raleigh twice this month. The environment is amazing. It gives boho, tropical vibes with natural wood finishes and an incredible wall of beautiful live plants. I was impressed! Staff was super helpful and friendly. My burrito bowl was so good! Protein was moist, flavorful and very well seasoned. The portion size is also worth mentioning, super generous protein and garnishes in the dish. They served a crunchy fried tortilla that was a nice touch to the overall experience. Their drinks also look so good! I'll have to come back to try them.

The restaurant was clean, spacious, and welcoming, with music playing at a comfortable level. The aesthetic was beautiful, with flowers and greenery adding to the vibe. Service was prompt, getting us seated right away. The food, specifically the tostada shrimp, was flavorful but PACKED with spice - a surprise for me, but still delicious . My husband ordered the enchiladas delish and the horchata was so good it had an authentic flavor and the right amount of cinnamon.

Delicious meal with consistent service every time we go. The first time we went it was a weekday, which was slower. The food was OUTSTANDING and our drinks were delicious. The second time we went was a Saturday night and it was packed, but the service and food were still top notch. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful presentation across the board, food and drinks both. Not only beautiful but the food was delicious as well. They have large menu with something for everyone so there is no issues there. It is relatively new so wait times have been long during peak hours. I am excited for warmer weather when the upstairs outside seating / patio will be in use.

We stopped by here after a visit to the new Downtown Rolesville Farmer's Market store in Cobblestone Village. This place was hopping for lunch on a Friday afternoon. They have a lunch menu until 3:00, so I ordered the chicken lunch fajitas. The prices on the lunch menu are very reasonable for the portions that they serve. Everything was fresh and flavorful! The chicken was very well seasoned as well as everything else that was included on the plate. Service was also top notch! Looking forward to eating here again soon!

Uhm?? This place is great quality and I just happened across it. Ordered the lunch fajitas (cant beat the price), and they were excellent. You could taste the char on the meat, juicy, full flavor. Sherlan was a great host and the vibes were high I will be back!

Tried the Fajita Quesadilla. A beautiful and well stuffed quesadilla is grilled then quartered for the plate. Served with rice and shredded lettuce, guac, pico and sour cream. The portion is big, it's served piping hot within minutes. Margaritas are cold and well mixed - not too strong, not too weak. Shout out to Luis, who took care of us. He is super-attentive, charming, funny and pleasant and does a great job. As an example - we split our entree... and without being asked he brought an extra plate. This might not seem like a big deal, but somehow this nearly never happens unless we ask. Great work, Luis - thank you! This may well turn out to be our go-to Mexican spot in town. GO!

I got the exact same things - margarita, wings, and carne asada burrito - the tastiness and presentation of the margarita made my eyes roll back in ecstasy - and the food was delish. After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.

Well worth the money! Lunch was Fish 'n Chips for me; super good crispy fried white fish, not greasy at all, which is the sure fire way to ruin any fried meal. The fries are really good, too, almost McDonaldy. Comes with tartar, ketchup, malt vinegar (asked for), and a really good garlic aioli. Hubs had Shrimp Risotto, which was blackened shrimp over really creamy risotto with red peppers, scallion, and tomato. Delicious. Also couldn't decide who got the better lunch. Our lunch specials were less than $15 each, a bargain today, and we each took half home. Hubs also had a beer, and I had the house Cabernet, which was really smooth. Around $50 for everything; didn't mind spending that at all since everything was so good.
