MezzeMe is a colorful, relaxed place for really great, fresh Mediterranean food that my husband and I have really enjoyed over a few tries. As a vegetarian, I am really impressed by the moist, crunchy falafel that they give you plenty of as part of your plate or pita. The portions are very fillings and I appreciate that every part of the plate is seasoned really well, including the rice and side salad. I love love the colorful addition of a red cabbage slaw and pickled onions that add a lot of freshness to an otherwise carb heavy dish. The Turkish delight tea is a delightful drink, and reminds me exactly of the Turkish delight from the steeping room, a tea house that recently closed in Austin. It is one of our favorites so nice to know there is still a place to find it! The baklava is also good, sweet and crunchy and melty. Love the interior, the design and clean seating areas. I recently went back to MezzeMe, and was pleasantly surprised at their menu overhaul! I had been previously, when it was more of a chipotle-style ordering style. The menu is now more curated to more traditional dishes. While I liked the bowl-styles, if you aren't accustomed to the type of food, I can see this being more appealing with more choices for people! We ordered the Turkish lentil soup, the iskender and the lamb skewers. The skewers didn't come with nearly as much added stuff, like extra sauce, and veggies, but they were still very good! The meat was all so tender, not fatty at all, and cooked well. The pita was so fluffy and fresh! The flavors are amazing, and if you like spice, don't skip on the spicy sauce, just ask for it if you aren't sure!! We had enough food for leftovers, which was still great the next day for lunch! They are also doing a top-notch job on cleanliness and distancing both inside, and out! read more

My family and I just returned from a visit to Turkey and craved some more of the excellent food. MezzeMe got a lot of positive comments about it on the Austin subReddit so that was also a deciding factor to get to MezzeMe. Over two visits so far, it's clear the food and service are excellent and others feel the same way with a buzzing atmosphere from a near packed house. Fresh, healthy food with great flavors is how I'd describe MezzeMe. In particular, my favorite dish was the fire roasted eggplant that is served with fresh out of the oven bread. read more

Since we had the same problem before, even though we did not warn them when ordering, they heated up old lahmacun and served it. If I wanted to heat it up and eat it, there is no need for me to go there, there is frozen lahmacun in my fridge. read more

Food was great and they didn't hear us order the appetizer, but brought it to us anyway when we asked where it was and didn't charge us for it. They also brought us out a sample of some delicious bread and dip as well. Great service to top off the yummy food. read more

Great restaurant at the Triangle! They have a few shelves at the front and sell some European staples. All of the meats were seasoned and cooked to perfection! Also really enjoyed the butter rice and feta truffle fries. Can't wait to come back and try something new. read more

What an awesome experience! I checked in here and was given a free Turkish coffee. It was served on a beautiful platter and was so delicious! We ordered the ChickMeOut and the chicken was cooked well. The bread and rice were also so tasty. The weather was perfect to sit outside and the indoor venue is adorable! I highly recommend to anyone who haven't tried Turkish food, definitely try the coffee! read more

This might be the best fast casual restaurant in Austin period. It's also one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to in the country including NYC and LA. Amazing food. Food here is great, fresh, and healthy. I have never been disappointed with whatever I ordered. My favorite here is the rice bowl with kefta meatballs. My only wish they do better is to not give me utensils. No matter what I did: I wrote on every order "no utensils", they even recently had a button in their ordering site for "no utensils", they still gave me utensils, which often time just got dumped in the trash, sadly. read more

It's a bit like a chipotle in pick your base, then protein and sides. You go through the line and tell them what you'd like to get. It was my first time, so when it came to the sides I had no idea. The lady was super nice and patient, and gave me samples of a few that I wanted to try and also her suggestions. I got half and half grains and mixed greens. Chicken which was super juicy (dark meat!!) and chargrilled. Got the shukasuka or something like that but basically roasted eggplant and the red grain one which was not spicy despite the looks! Yelp checkin gave me a Turkish coffee but I'm not a coffee drinker and asked if I could get another drink instead. The cashier was really nice & offered a fountain drink which is Maine Root here sI was happy. It's the little things in life. :P read more

Pretty solid place! I've been a few times and I've had enjoyable experiences every time. My latest adventure here was me gorging on a plate of iskender. Kinda of tasted like lasagna! The sliced meat was tender and flavorful. Mixed with sliced pita and a tomato sauce felt like a very comforting dish. Thinking about that dish makes my mouth water. Definitely interested in coming back here again! Give this place a try! read more

It was my first time at this quiet chain at a nice location, and I was impressed by their decor, cleanliness, menu, and service. The order taker explained patiently how the bowl works, and I stuck with a simple vegan bowl and added toppings with hummus (topped with olives, oil & paprika) as an appetizer. Everything was presented carefully with a smile, and the meal was fresh and tasty. At the end of the meal I helped myself to the carry out table, because it was a lot of food for the price. The manager has a great sense of humor. The same person who took my order and served me was also the same person to give me a warm welcome back and open the door. Based on my experience I would indeed like to come back and try the imported baklava. read more

We tried the MezzeMe in the Triangle for the first time tonight and were very pleased with the experience. It's Mediterranean/Turkish cuisine with a fascinating niche. They have some 'prepared' menu items, like Moussakka, but what caught my attention was the 'build your own' medley option. It is counter service with a complicated selection. The attendant will guide you through, but I had studied it online and knew what I wanted. To begin, you select a 'base' from a number of choices, including pita pockets, wraps, greens, or rice. I choose the 'CrazyGrain,' which turned out to be a mishmash of different smalls grains with quinoa (I think) and other Mediterranean options. You then pick a protein - I choose a beef and lamb donor. You follow that with a couple of 'mezzos' from a varied set of options. I chose the spicy Tabouli, since I have always had a soft spot for the old Tom's Tabouli that used be to next to the UT campus. You finish with as many toppings as you can stomach from a list of 11 choices. You do need to do a little Google homework before you go in order to avoid an inevitable brain-fart when you come up against the variables for the first time. Anyway, the resulting dish was complex, with myriad flavors and textures doing a bayonet charge on my taste buds. Everything was very fresh, and you can choose to try them one by one (nigh impossible) or enjoy the mixture of ingredients blended together. The only flat note was that the gyro-like beef and lamb slices were slightly dry. The solution is to add Tzatziki with your toppings (whoops, forgot to mention that the dressings are the last choice). The utter healthiness of the entire dining experience is disgustingly robust. The ambiance is clean and uncluttered and light. And the nearly infinite variety of choices means that you could dine there until the world looks level and never have the same meal twice. We ordered take out from here to eat at the park in the Triangle. Food was excellent with good portions. Love that the meat is halal! My only critique would be that I was surprised at how much the total bill, a little higher than I expected and the food took much longer to be ready than the estimate we were given when we placed the order online. Regardless, will definitely be back for more and am also interested in their catering services. read more

Established in 2017.

Founder Mahmud Ugur's passion for food began in his Grandmother's kitchen. She didn't know he was sneaking "appetizers" before each meal, but this early taste testing led to hours of his own culinary experimentation. Growing up in Turkey near the Mediterranean Sea, he fell in love with fresh ingredients. He taught himself his family's old-world recipes using hand-picked vegetables from the family garden and fresh produce from town. Moody began entertaining friends and family, and when he moved to Austin to attend college, his passion for sharing these recipes grew. Entering the restaurant business was a calling. And like in his Grandmother's kitchen, Mahmud didn't want to wait, and now, you don't have to. Moody brings his love of flavor and family together so you can enjoy a seat at the table with quick, easy to order food that provides the fresh and exciting taste of those early recipes. Plan ahead or use rideshare if you can. Service was great--attentive and smooth throughout our meal with two adults and two kids. We ordered the whipped feta spread (excellent with the pistachios and oil; the house bread was a bit salty), Brussels sprouts (cooked perfectly), grilled chicken kebabs, the shawarma-spiced steak frites, and the grilled Branzino. The Branzino was the clear star of the show--flavorful and well-executed. The chicken and steak were mediocre at best. For dessert we shared the sticky date cake, which had a nice crunch outside and was warm and moist inside. It's a bit pricey (we paid over $240 for the four of us), but the setting, strong service, and that excellent Branzino make it worthwhile. I'd definitely come back.

It was almost like pulling teeth to get a regular service let alone good service. Again, the food was really good, and that alone was the only positive.

Some people may like that, but it was not what I expected. It was 4 star food. I think sitting outside would probably be much better.

I ordered the Döner Plate, which came with tender, thinly shaved beef and lamb, fluffy rice, sumac onions, ezme, and pickled red cabbage, all topped with a warm tomato sauce. I went inside because the interior of the room was pretty with the coffee cup decor and caught my eye. I tried the Basmati Rice, with Beef and Lamb, eggplant, along with other toppings for lunch today and everything was made fresh clean and delicious. Poor customer service. Waited for over an hour to get our food served. After one hour we got half of our order and half was missing. We ate the first half order and ordered Turkish Chai while waiting for the missing food, and we got green tea in paper cups without sugar instead of traditional Turkish chai. Lamb Kabob Platter ($19) - 4/5 Ground lamb mixed with onion and spices and grilled. The texture was fairly firm and the seasoning was pretty strong--you mostly taste the spices rather than the lamb itself.
