Such a disappointment. We wasted a week of our time trying to work with these guys, now all of the other pool companies are booked until the end of June. They scheduled a visit to open our pool a week out, which was great. Then called to say they were coming the next day, even better! Then it was rainy so they rescheduled for the following day, understandable. Then the following day they didn't come because they were sick (Huh. All of them?) Ok, I guess that happens. Then they rescheduled for Wednesday, which we couldn't be here all day for so we asked that they call to give us a heads up to arrange a time to meet them, and they agreed. But they didn't do that. Instead they called and left messages when nobody was home stating that they were in our yard working on the pool and couldn't get the pump working so they were going to leave since nobody was home to turn on the breaker. We called them back repeatedly all week with no answer. Finally after a call went straight to voicemail, we called from a different number which was immediately answered (maybe a coincidence, but seems like our calls were deliberately getting ignored.) After explaining things to Vikki, she was not understanding, nor helpful, decided not to work with us, and hung up on us. I only write reviews when I'm either blown away by amazing customer service, or baffled at the lack of it. Honestly, I'm speechless. MGK Pool Service was able to help me out this fall when my pool closing got delayed. The majority of leaves had fallen and needed to be cleaned out of the pool before closing. As I called around, no company was willing to handle the cleaning job. Most were not even answering the phone as it was late in the season. MGK was able to handle both jobs and got everything done in one call for a reasonable price. Mike and his staff are personable and knowledgeable. I will not hesitate to call MGK again and recommend them highly. read more

Terrible customer service. Gave me a price and then said I can't help you because he didn't feel like it. Job must have been to hard for him to handle. There are plenty of other pool servers in the area. Shop around. Kindness and consideration go a long way. read more

We were first time pool owners, we were very happy with Mike and his crew installing our above ground pool, gave us some great advise how to go about a pool. He was always on time and his crew was great to work with. The whole family is enjoying the pool. read more

We originally contacted this provider to fix some pool damage from this past winter back in March. He assurred us that were were one of his earliest customers, and would come out to look at the pool once the snow had cleared. He came out and looked at the pool in April, and my wife reached out to him to get a rough idea on when he might be doing the work and get a rough idea for the cost. He never replied. My wife again reached out to see what was going on, at this point he started trying to tell us he wouldn't be able to get to us until Mid June at the earliest. When my wife asked why so late when we were originally told we were high on his list. He said he lost the measurements and as a result he had to start over and had other jobs to do in the meantime. When my wife again pushed that we had contacted him earlier in the season and were told we were going to be one of his first ones he responded by saying he didn't owe us anything wouldn't be working with us anymore. (at no point did we say he owed us anything) At no point were we rude, unprofessional, or onerous in our communications we just tried to hold him to his word, and only reached out to him a handful of times over the span of two months to do so. Apparently this was all to much for him. 5/12/15 Update (Apparently I can't find a way to comment on a reply so I'll do it this way) As I said in your private message. You did one small thing for us last year, that is a bit much to say you gave us great service. From what i recall you made some minor repairs on our pump, if that is "great service" then we have different expectations of that. At no point were you ever referred to as a "God" in this household. Did you do a small task for us last year? Yes, it worked alright, although you did fail to replace the pressure gauge on the pump and told my wife after the fact that she could "take care of it herself" . That being said that does not make up for the fact that when pressed for a bigger more important job this year you completely misled us as to what you were able to commit to. As far as a deposit to secure our position, at no point did you ask for any such thing. You simply said were were all set and we took you at your word. If you had wanted a deposit, and stated as such we would have done so, but to say after the fact that it is our fault that we didn't give you a deposit which you never mentioned before is a bit of revisionist history. As I said, I never accused you of being rude, at no point did I accuse you of stealing from us, I definitely didn't accuse you of damaging our pool. You simply decided to go back on your stated promise of the work you were going to do, We talked to you about work to be done, you assured us that we were one of your earlier jobs (4th on your list is the exact phrase you used), and when it came time for the work to be actually be done you suddenly "lost the measurements" and we were suddenly told that we went from 4th on the list to mid June in the best possible case. The security deposit stuff never came up until after you responded to my wife's request that you honor your original promise to say that you wouldn't do the work for us at all. Which to me makes it sound like you're making excuses as to why this isn't your fault. I notice from your other Yelp responses to negative reviews that you seem to have a lot of excuses as to why it isn't your fault. read more

Very rude and unprofessional. MGK is extremely good at sending invoices, but not so good at cleaning pools or returning calls. Signed up for spring clean as well as weekly clean. I cleaned the cartridge filter & skimmers in between MGK's visits, kept chlorine going and was nonetheless accused (in a very rude way) of not having done those things. The pool looks worse now than before they came for the first cleaning. I've left VM's on the office phone as well as Mike's phone, but no response. The invoices arrive very timely though! read more

I notice many people, including the owner of this company, stating that the service is excellent but it is hard to communicate with them. Communication, and customer service, are a VITAL part of good business practice. One cannot simply state that we just don't have the time to call everyone, or I wish we could service everyone that calls, or I wish there were reviews from actual customers here. Everyone that wrote a review was a potential customer. If you are unable to provide a service to someone, you have a professional obligation to let them know, that would solve your negative review problem (or, most of them anyway). My experience with this company was very positive, at first. I had left a message on a Friday night requesting service, and received a call back the next day. The woman that called stated she was the owners wife and was extremely pleasant and helpful on the phone. We actually spoke for several minutes about what was going on with my pool. At that time, there was about a 2 1/2 week wait for service. I said, fine, I have no other choice. I was told I had an appointment for 6/27. I placed 3 calls, starting on 6/20, each time leaving a message to please call me back (even if they were not coming) so I could make an alternate arrangement with someone else. All I want is to get my family swimming in our pool. Needless to say, I never received any call back whatsoever. Not even a call stating that they were just too busy and could no longer come on that date. Now, once again, you have a potential customer dissatisfied with your business operations due to lack of communication. I'm sure your pool skills are as stated, however, that is useless if you don't actually commit to the appointments you give. read more

We had a similar poor experience with MGK this past May. We obtained several quotes to replace the liner on our above ground pool. Mike met with my wife and was very professional and polite. We gave him half of the cost of the job as a deposit and was promised the work work would be complete within 30 days. After 30 days, he told us that he was too busy, but he had someone else helping him out and this new guy would be over to do the work. After many phone calls and poor communication for a couple of weeks, this other gentleman showed up to do the work. Liner was poorly installed with wrinkles on the bototm of the pool. Mutiple inquiries to ask how to fix have gone unanswered by Mike and MGK. To top it all off, there were cigarette butts all over the driveway when they finished the job. Made a huge mistake making the final payment before getting into the pool and inspecting the work. Poor job by them. Would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I would not call and do business with MGK pool service. I called on May 4th to get my pool opened. I was told that they could open it on the week of the 15th. I was quoted prices and different services I could add on top of the opening. I was thrilled to get this done, until the week came and went and no call or show. I called back today(05/22/17) to see what happened and when they were coming out. Again, I spoke with Vicky and she stated she did not have me listed for a pool opening. I informed her that I have the call on my phone and that I could quote the actual prices. I was not happy as the next ability to get my pool opened would be after memorial day. Due to my unhappiness with their customer service, I was informed that the company could not open my pool. I was told sorry and hung up on. Not sure how they are still in business with such poor customer service and no call no shows. I won't make this mistake again. read more
