Pretty good place to eat good food nice 50s retro restaurant but not real cheap either you can eat at a very nice restaurant for the same price so the food should be good for what they charge for hamburger you could eat steak and have a beer at the Texas Road House but I suppose that maybe is sorta why it's expensive maybe because the quality food that you get is good at the same time and well prepared and service from lovely ladies is nice as well not that it's Hooters or anything exactly I mean there's no beer but it is nice. read more

We had carry out. I had the Ford burger and my husband had the Buick. I liked that the bun was homemade. The burger itself was cooked perfectly for me and was a generous portion. The onion rings were excellent - no frozen, pre - breaded here. The French fries were a little soggy but were also fresh and tasted good. $20 for 2 meals with drinks. There are 3 places I take guests when visiting Sherman. Cackle & Oink for BBQ, Hucks for catfish, or MGs for burgers. MGs is competitively priced with most Burger joints around the area, and they have an all you can eat burgers on Saturdays for those looking for a lot of food. Located in a residential area but always seems to have a good flow of traffic. Service is usually pretty good and usually a manager will check on you- the girl who has been there for like 20 something years. Only negative I see is that the place looks like it could use a good cleaning. Done up in 50s theme, The Hot Rod Ford is my go-to burger. Burger is good, but honestly the bun makes it. Homemade from the bakery a few doors down. If you want Shermans best burger, this is where it's at. read more

Not much from outside, but the lot full of cars at 1:15 on Sat was a good sign. They appear to do a great job of cycling people through so not a bad wait. Got mine to go and couldn't pass up the top rated Hot Rod Ford burger. I was not disappointed. Huge slab of beef on their homemade bun and loaded with fresh jalapeños and bbq sauce along with a side of onion rings. Had to top it off with a large chocolate shake. Still full 6 hours later! I love that the theme of this restaurant hasn't changed since I was a kid. The hamburger has a unique taste and I love it. Same goes for their onion rings. The fries are the fresh cut fries, not a fan but that's just my personal preference. I go to this restaurant for the unique ambience and tasty burger and onion rings. From the outside this quaint little diner looks rather dreary but as soon as you walk in you are greeted not only with a 50s diner aesthetic but with southern hospitality and amazing food. I do not understand the ratings for this restaurant. The mashed potatoes and gravy were the worse I've Ever had. The potatoes were lumpy and tasteless and the gravy was the same. The chicken fried steak was a breaded burger patty and lacked seasoning. I gave them a star because they have good dinner rolls. Won't be back. read more

Burgers are so-so. I had a strawberry shake that was neon pink. It definitely wasn't real ice cream and I guess they used some sort of strawberry syrup. I was hoping for something more like strawberry ice cream spun into a shake since it's a 50's style burger joint. It was more like the soft serve that you'd get from a buffet dessert bar. Also, the girls' shorts were incredibly short. I thought this was a family run business where you would want to take your family. One girl in particular might as well have been wearing swim bottoms. We drove up from the DFW area after seeing the review on The Texas Bucket List show. I have to say...it was worth the drive. I had the Hot Rod Ford burger and my wife had the Cadillac. We both enjoyed them. They were juicy and the buns are freshly made. We also got an order of onion rings, which were more than enough for the two of us. The rings are homemade and hand battered.
