This weekend we were shopping in New Bedford and needed a snack to hold us over until we met family in the area for dinner. Since we were in the mood for Mexican we decided to stop in at Mi Antojo for a quick snack as well as for some to-go lunch for the next day. When we entered the restaurant we were reminded of our favorite restaurant in Chelsea MA. The staff here was polite but the restaurant was a bit worn down. That being said, the food was good and we were pleased that we stopped in at this restaurant. We ended up buying a few pupusas as well as a couple of tongue and tripe tacos. We had originally planned to buy pupusas de queso con loroco, but they were out for the day. Additionally, the gave us chips as an appetizer which were great, but they didn't give us regular salsa, just the green salsa in the bottle. In the end we enjoyed eating here but we we're a bit let down by the fact that it was understaffed and the waitress was busy with a ton of tables, the bar section as well as the small baked goods section in the back. It seemed like she was overwhelmed which meant our service was slow. read more

I read in another review that this place served beef tongue burritos, and I really wanted to taste one. The trip was not worth the effort. Atmosphere was a zero, service was 2*, and the food was sub par. Mrs. Restaurant Reviewer had stronger opinions than I, so I'll include her comments before mine. "Mrs. Restaurant Reviewer was uneasy about the art work , which I interpreted as Aztec men (perhaps priests or chieftains) with women who were about to be sacrificed. It seemed totally inappropriate for a dining area!" "I just read some more reviews. Some people mentioned that it was clean; I definitely disagree. (It seemed there was food stuck to the walls). I agree that the sauces served with the chips seemed tasteless. The guac also was fairly tasteless. And since it has a bar and the on-line pics at Yelp showed a mixed drink; I am confused about lack of Margeritas. Low temp of rice and beans is notable." Now back to my own review. The chips were too greasy for me. There were two squeeze bottles of salsa (unlabeled), but no bowl or plate to use as a staging area. The only way to get sauce on a chip was to squeeze it directly onto the chip. The menu listed different types of tequila, but we were told that they don't serve margaritas. We both settled for beer which came out in bottles with no offer of a glass. It seemed to take a rather long time for our food to come out. When it arrived, most of it was just slightly above room temperature. Portion sizes are very large. I ordered the beef tongue burrito with guac, rice, and bean add-ons (extra cost). My burrito did have guac inside, but beans and rice were nowhere to be found. The burrito was so large, I decided not to make an issue on the beans and rice, but in the end, I was charged for the beans and rice. The tongue was not bad, but disappointing. It consisted of very small dried out cubes. There was a loud chime that rang every few minutes. I could never figure out what it was for. You get a lot of food for the money, but I would rather have higher quality, better atmosphere, and better service in exchange for higher cost. read more

Great food, unsuspecting place. When we were there, there was nobody fluent in English, but they were patient with the scraps of Spanish we were able to muster. Granted, it took me 3 tries to get my meal without shrimp... but I blame that on not paying attention in my high school Spanish class. Definitely somewhere you have to make a destination as it is off the beaten path. Worth it for authentic Mexican food. Spanish for "My Craving", I think that Mi Antojo will be my next craving for quite a while. We walked in on a Monday night and it was busy to say the least. English isn't the majority language here and even though we were totally prepared to work our way through ordering in Spanish, the waitress seamed very nervous about us and called out someone from the kitchen to take our order. Prices are so good I almost don't want to tell anyone about this place. But the food is so good that I must. Tacos, burritos, tostadas, soups, enchiladas and so much more. Everything is very authentic. I ordered the shrimp tacos with beans and avocado but my beans and avocado ended up on my husband's pork tacos. That was our only snafu and the shrimp tacos were so good that I didn't really mind not getting the extra toppings. The pico de gallo was so fresh. Super, super, made to order, fresh. And the tortilla chips were just like you get in Mexico. They do take credit cards and you can get takeout as well. read more

The best place in NB to find AUTHENTIC Mexican food! And by authentic, I mean, break out the Rosetta Stone and brush up on your Spanish! Seriously. I sadly know no Spanish, besides "Mas," "Grande," and "Cerveza" and my boyfriend sometimes gesticulates instead of speaking. Despite the fact that we are annoying, uni lingual Americans, the waitstaff is really nice and the food comes out fast! You definitely need to try the homemade chips with hot sauce and made-to-order guacamole! We also love to get a few kinda of tacos - like shrimp, pork, and beef! So great finding a place with tasty food that is open late on weeknights! I ate here with my sister after driving by a few other nearby places that were just barely open. We were looking for non-chain tasty food that wasn't pizza or Chinese and were delighted to find this place. We got chips and guacamole along with some spicy salsa. They were out of tamales so I got two tacos and my sister got chicken flautas. All of it was terrific and inexpensive and we washed it down with a few horchadas and bought some little snacks from the snack shelf to take home. I didn't notice the language barrier that other people were mentioning. While the other people in the restaurant weren't speaking English, our waitress seemed to know it just fine. The place seems to be a local hangout and there were kids running through playing hide and seek and some other people playing pool and drinking beer. It's a rare meal that is so delicious and so filling that I can't finish it -- i don't know if I've *ever* left guacamole on the table -- but this was one. First, I would like to say thank you to Sarah M. as it was her review specifically that convinced me to try Mi Antojo way back when. Mi Antojo quickly became one of my favorites and the first word whenever a friend asked about Mexican food locally. La Raza has since overtaken it mainly because of consistency but Mi Antojo is a solid spot and has the best tortas and horchata in the city, hands down. The food is authentic but quality can vary from one order to the next particularly when you order on the weekends. I've tried quite a bit on the menu and most of it has been done very well, though. Papusas were a pleasant surprise and something of a learning experience. Tortas are excellent, the best in NB by far. Tacos are good, but can be a little inconsistent. If you're lucky they come out nice and hot, the tortillas are warm and have a little crisp to them, the tacos are filled up nicely and there's sauce on the side. Other times the tortilla will be a little soft, a little cool even and the filling will leave you wondering where the rest went. And no sauce. They do have the cheapest tacos around but they might actually cost them money in the long run. Service can be hit or miss but at least it's never rude or incompetent. At worst it is just very slow. Pro tip: learn some Spanish. You will get much better service that way, like it or not. The weekend kitchen staff are clearly the B team, though, so adjust accordingly. I've had excellent tortas Monday through Friday but the same torta on Saturday can be an altogether different experience. Go here for tortas and horchata. Tacos too but to a lesser degree, mainly only if you can't find El Tarrito or don't want to drive to La Raza. Absolutely the best Mexican food in the greater New Bedford area. I can't wait to go again. Location may not be the best and finding a parking space can be a challenge but its well worth the effort. Fantastic, authentic Mexican cuisine. Everything is hot, fresh and homemade. A very varied menu, there should be something for everyone. The portions were great, with no one leaving unsatisfied. The setting is perfect, a cozy atmosphere with a full bar and nice music playing in the background. The staff was very friendly and were able to attend to each and every need that my party of 32 had with ease. I went with a group of 32 and 32 people left happy. Stopped in for lunch today after having read the reviews earlier. We were in the area and my son wanted to go to No Problemo. I said "let's try an authentic Mexican place that I have been hearing about" and he agreed. He had the beef tongue burrito and I had chorizo quesadilla. Both were very good. Interior decor is what you would expect in a restaurant in mexico, mosaic tile and brightly painted hand carved seating. We were the only Americans in the restaurant for lunch. They serve alcohol and the menu is extensive. I would recommend a visit if you are looking for good authentic Mexican food. read more

Love, love, love this restaurant. The food is very authentic and extremely delicious. I particularly love their Horchata and their dessert 3 milk cake. I know the outside isn't the most appealing or enticing for a restaurant/store front, but If you venture in you won't regret it. My boyfriend and I love any kind of authentic food from anywhere. This place absolutely has the best authentic Mexican food around. If your even slightly boujee or "scary"- don't bother, you'll hate it. I call this area "Little Tijuana" because no one speaks any English and as soon as you step inside, you feel like you're in Mexico. I, also, believe it adds to the charm. Tacos al pastor without any pineapple on it? My enchiladas where cold and it was simply a tortilla with little cheese. Not authentic and its average. I didn't even feel the spicy in my food. The place is mad sketchy, as soon as i entered through the bar people were giving weird looks and environment looked like a truck place ... I read the reviews and was excited about finding this place. Went once with a friend just after Thanksgiving. I was disappointed that they did not have fish tacos. I figured New Bedford and all the fishing industry...but I had to pick something else. We ordered the guac to go with our chips and it was quite a disappointment. It also took long enough for the food to come that we even ordered more, probably because the salsa to go with the chips was so thin runny and boring also. The second visit there were 4 of us. It was a cold winter night and parking was tough due to the snow still there on the streets. But that is not their problem. The good part about that was the place was nearly empty. But it seemed cold and the wait staff wanted to hangout and talk rather than work. This time we knew to order more than the small Guac to go with the chips, like previously it was lacking flavor. The drinks were chap but also not that great a quality, not sure a fact of you get what you pay for though. When we went to order they were out of shrimp and a few other things. We weren't told that before and then had to look at the menu again. We all agreed for it not being crowded it took too long and then our food was not as warm as it should have been. Decided to try and get some dinner tonight with the family on short notice. Called the restaurant and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. It's a very very small family style local restaurant and the food is amazing. It's pretty easy to drive by so pay attention. The chx quesadilla was amazing. The steak on the other hand is cut in small chunks which I'm not a fan of. Definetly worth trying out again. They also have a pool table in another room and small bar. Not impressed--reviews were encouraging, so we thought we'd try it out. The parking was lacking, the atmosphere was lass than desireable (to say the least), the food was over-priced, and to top it off--we had screaming, unsupervised kids in the booth nearby. My 'fajitas de pollo' for $8.00 consisted of a skillet of onions, green peppers and rubbery chicken pieces with a side of tortillas...no other toppings, and to top it off, not even a plate to assemble my fajita. I kept waiting for the waitress to come back with the rest of my order, or at least a plate...but she came back 10-15 minutes later only to ask if we were finished with our meal. Hubby's carne asada burrito for nearly $9.00 was a little more interesting (it at least had more than 3 ingredients), but the tiny chunks if meat were dry and overdone. if i could give this place a zero rating i would. to put in the simplest terms, THE worst service ive ever received and i was with my family which made the experience more dreadful. The food was horrific, my sons mother plate was incorrect twice and had undercooked meat and full of grease. never touched it. my plate came with hair on it and was just thrown on the plate. biggestof all was my sons order was backwards and he could not eat all his food as his very picky right now. to whoever reads this do not go to this place, with their standards they should be getting shut dowm soon... read more

I am writing this review so that no one else has to go through what I went through with them to have an event in the Vault. In July 2018 I was contacted by the event coordinator, her name was Nicole. She was very pleasant to work with. When I went in person to check the room out that she had available for the date that I was interested in, she was telling me about food options and that they would work with me if they didn't have something on their menu that I was interested in and she also told me that she was not going to charge me a "room fee" and she was going to include their VIP area for any of our guest that wanted to stay once the band started. My daughter and I both thought it was a great idea and a good deal, so we decided to go with this place instead of a few others that we looked at. Now fast forward to November and Nicole is no longer the event coordinator but she still works there as an employee. The new event coordinator is Kaelan. She was not nearly as nice to work with as Nicole was. I tried to explain to her everything that Nicole told me but she would not listen. She would talk over me and continuously say "I don't know how else to e.xplain this to you", like i'm dumb. I gave her my food order and she took my credit card as payment over the phone, then she sent me an email of all the details. What she didn't do is deduct my $ 250 deposit that I had given Nicole in August 2018. She said that she can not refund a deposit. I said i'm not looking for a refund, but when I booked this room with Nicole she said that she was not going to charge me a room fee and that my $ 250 deposit would get deducted from my food order. So I asked Kaelan to please have the owner or a manager call me. Neither one called me but Kaelan called on their behalf to say that there was nothing that they could do, they just can't refund a deposit. She went on and on to say that the room is very expensive to rent and that I was getting a great deal. She also told me that I had to pay for the bartenders and waitress that would go around to take drink orders (which there was no one doing that the night of our party) and wait staff. Well the only 2 people that were there were 2 very nice bartenders. They were super friendly, unlike Kaelan. When she walked into the room that we were setting up in, I went over to ask her if she was Kaelan and she said yes so I introduced myself and she didn't say a word and walked out of the room. So rude and unprofessional. She did bring out some of the food but other then that I don't know what I paid for because there were no other servers or waitresses. Once we were done eating and moved over to the VIP section, she was behind the bar standing up against the wall not doing a thing and not once did she ever come over to see if we needed anything or if everything was ok. She is just a rude person and I can only assume that her new job title has gone to her head. She was not helpful whatsoever and we had to do everything ourselves. She didn't even ask us if we needed any to go boxes for the left over food and cake. I did ask a gentleman that was very nice and he did get that for me. Moral of my story is I would not recommend this place as a venue for anything as long as Kaelan is the one helping you because she talks in circles and does not believe anything you say. She kept telling me that I should have had a signed contract with Nicole. Whose fault is that? How was I supposed to know that they had a contract to sign once I gave them my $ 250 deposit. I had my credit card receipt for that. If there should have been a contract then that was Nicole's responsibility to give that to me and everything that we had discussed would have been in there. I will say that the food that I ordered was ok, not exceptional but it was edible. I ended up asking her to order me some mac and cheese that she charged me $80 for. It came in a brownie size foil pan and no one even liked it which is not her fault. I also asked her if she could order me some pretzel bites. She charged me $ 50 for 45 small pieces but at least they were decent, just way over priced. Moral of my story is stay away from Greasy Luck if you are planning a party or any type of event if you have to work with Kaelan. And shame on the owner or manager for not getting in touch with me when I clearly asked her to have one of them call me as soon as I knew there was a problem and she started saying that Nicole did not tell me these things. I would not make it up and my story was consistent and I could tell her the exact date that everything took place, where we met and talked to Nicole and I had never been to this place before. read more

Staff could have cared less that I was there to buy lunch. The food was absolutely atrocious and mere words cannot explain how sub par/ awful it was. The Fajita wasn't even cooked and the burrito was literally lettuce and grilled chicken with no seasonings to be found. After eating this lunch I now do not feel very well so I would caution anyone who plans on eating at this establishment! You have been warned! read more

My husband is Spanish and we go here often for the pupusas. We ordered a bunch of them tonight and they always come with the cabbage in a baggie. My husband pours the cabbage onto his pupusa and a piece of raw meat lands on his food. This was beyond disturbing and nasty. Why is raw food next to the cabbage? And why was it bagged into the mixture? My last time ever ordering food there!!! read more

Mi Antojo is an authentic Mexican restaurant...the food is delicious...the music is great the locales are very social if u know language. This is not fine dining it is a good old rustic spot.
