So I'm a millwright trade worker so you know how important it is for us construction workers to have our lunch right? Well this place is a place to go if you want to try truly authentic Mexican food. Especially as a good price. I had the opportunity to try the Milanese de torta which is grilled breaded beef into a sandwich. Portion was gorgeous especially for its price. Less than 20$ for a filled sandwich and fries. You can tell the vegetables are fresh and cooked well same with the meat. My only issue with the sandwich would be the excessive amounts of toppings but hey I ate it all the same. That's how a torta is supposed to be eaten. Messy and delicious to the point you look like a pig in mud ha. Service was very welcoming and warm. You can tell day and night this restaurant tried their best to be the best they can be in such a competitive field of culinary. Mexican food you can find in any corner in New England no doubt. I've visited this little gem a few times now, and it has been a great experience every time. Mi Antojo offers a quality and authentic Mexican meal that is a rarity in New Bedford. If you dine in, you'll get a nice little tortilla chip basket with a selection of hot and mild salsas that are very tasty. They have an excellent chorizo burrito, and its tough to pass up their tasty Taco Tuesday special. Took the family here today. I've driven passed it so many times and decided I'll give it a try. The food is good and we all enjoyed our meals BUT... the pricing is pretty crazy for this type of small eatery. I was told they have a taco Tuesdays were food is a little cheaper so I'll have to try it then but anyways good food just really high pricing. Mexican food is suppose to be cheap and easily accessible but I dropped nearly $50 and that's with me and my wife sharing our drinks because it would have been even more expensive. We were driving home from a long day of un fun and needed comfort food. My partner loves Mi Antojo and suggested we try it for a late lunch/early dinner. We went to the 2nd Ave location. We called ahead but when we arrived and spied outdoor seating, we switched the plan. Front end manager Elizabeth was awesome, the consummate professional. She set us up outside, delivered food and took care of us quite well. Inside, it's very cute and super clean. I peeked into the kitchen as I went to the loo; clean and well run and a nice friendly vibe. The menu is big, TOO big. My partner spent 20 minutes selecting our food. I cannot recall all we had but the stand out for me was the enchiladas verde/ The horchata drink hit the spot too. Our experience was flawless. This is my new go to whenever I crave good home cooked food. The owner is Mexican, his wife, Puerto Rican and the manager, El Salvadoran. Fantastic, all around. read more

Despite the previous reviews, this place serves a fantastic array of food. It is clean, quiet and great if you are expecting the food to speak for itself over it's humble appearance. They serve your typical authentic Mexican food as well as some tex-mex items you'd see in most places. Chicken tacos, steak burrito, and nachos are all worth noting and were fantastic. Service was quick for the quality of food and the cashier was great. If you're expecting an Americanized version of Mexican food with sombreros on the wall and mariachi music playing through the speakers than this isn't the place for you - but if you want a great, quick and well worth the price lunch then definitely give this place a try. read more

No longer would be a customer at this place. But whomever reads this if anyone is ever in the state of Texas make sure to go and try ROSA'S Authentic Mexican restaurant. Between 2-3 stars. I would go here religiously for pupusas until two times I got them they were burned, horrible tasting. The cook brought them out without even wrapping them up in foil and was told to go back and put them in foil and a paper bag. One of the times there was barely any cheese, mostly just corn meal. There were other times were the pupusas were fantastic and filled w/cheese. But on multiple occasions the side of sour cream I asked for was forgotten. I will not however order the chicken tacos again. The tacos were broken because the chicken was so thick and wet. I thought I got the vegetable burrito but apparently I got the vegetarian burrito because it was just beans and rice lettuce and sour cream. It wasn't bad. I suppose I would try this place again. I had really high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately, I was let down. I understand that this is a Mexican restaurant, but I had no idea what was on the menu since it was all in Spanish with no English translation. I asked the woman to explain some items for me, and I hate to say this, but she barely spoke English. I really could not understand her. I am not basing my review on that, though. My review and stars are just about the food. I ordered what I thought she said was a steak burrito. Instead, it was steak and shrimp. It was just OK. The steak was flavorful, but the shrimp was not. I also ordered chips and guacamole. To me, that is the true test of a good Mexican restaurant if they have good guacamole. Unfortunately, this one did not. It had no flavor whatsoever. I had to add a lot of pico de gallo in order to get any flavor at all. We got two burritos and an order of chips and guacamole. The order was $30! It was only when I got home that I looked at the receipt. She charged us $1.50 for extra rice and $1.50 for extra beans, both of which we did not receive! Really got me upset.I think I may still try their other location, which is an actual restaurant instead of this takeout place. I'm hoping that the food and service will be a lot better. read more

It took me about 15 minutes to decide what I wanted to eat since most of the menu was in Spanish with very few English translations. The lady looked at me the whole time I was deciding, I asked her what something was and she then told me they only had tacos. Not everything on the menu. Me and my sister were confused and annoyed. You watched us stand here for 15-20 minutes trying to figure out what we wanted and then you tell us all you have is tacos. We left and I don't have any intentions on coming back honestly... Diamond in the Rough Remember hearing about the fact that diamonds are but compressed coal? The neighborhood and the outside presentation of MI Antojo might be coal quality, but the inside is pure diamond! The entrance to this restaurant is on Rivet St. I went with a clergyman following Sunday service. He loves Mexican restaurants and we go to the best of them. He was willing to try this place out, and wow, he loves it! MI Antojo means "My craving," and he and I both have the craving to come back here. The interior is the most beautiful Mexican motif I have seen since Mexico City. The Mexican music was perfect. We each had breakfast at lunch time, and both believe it was the best Mexican breakfast we ever experienced! I was so pleased by the fantastic cooking that I asked the cook to come out, which she did, and we praised her highly and I gave her a cash tip.To say that this made her day would be an understatement. read more

I wanted to go to Moe's because after doing this crazy cleanse I have been going the other way and crave dunking everything in queso. I was going to drive to the one in Rhode Island which is about 30 minutes away, but had second thoughts as I thought I should go somewhere closer to work so I can get back and do something productive with my afternoon. I searched "Mexican Restaurants" on my phone and noticed this one was only 5 minutes away. It was worth a shot, I thought to myself. The two other positive reviews convinced me that I should try it. From the outside, it doesn't look like much-- an old Subway with some colorful menu items decorating the front. But it is authentic! I don't eat meat, and there were little vegetarian options on the menu, but that didn't stop them from creating delicious vegetarian nachos for me. They were extremely fast and I was impressed with the variety of toppings they offered me. It was very yummy and I definitely will be back.
