Visited for an early dinner on a Monday night. As soon as you arrive you are presented with chips and salsa, a good way to start. I ordered a margarita which was just ok. For dinner husband had the chicken fajitas which came out hot and had all the topping, excellent. I had a combo meal with chile relleno, a beef burrito and enchilada which was very good. Overall drinks and dinner is 4 star. Ambiance is very Mexican themed with lots of Mexican background Spanish music. Nice Service was outstanding with food coming out hot, drinks and chips refilled quickly and servers very pleasant. Overall a four star+. Would recommend. read more

I see that the reviews are spotty, and I am typically an El mariachi person, but I came here today at a convenience because I happen to be in the area and I love Mexican food and I've gotta honestly say why bartender Alex was great. He was prompt. He was friendly. The food was spectacular. I get the same thing. yes I know I'm boring, but I always get a pork tamales and a chile rellenos everywhere I go. This chili was very good. The tamale was moist and delicious. I didn't eat the rice or beans cause it's not on my diet, but I'm bringing it home for my husband. I ordered the ceviche which looked delicious. I had a flan which was absolutely decadent for someone who never eats sweets. I ordered a lime and the coconut margarita which I didn't really taste the coconut and that's my only complaint. Awesome Mexican food - love their tacos (usually partial to the fish tacos or the world's best tacos) and NEED their homemade hot sauce (burns your mouth off in the best way, absolutely 20/10!) Love Frontera for the food. Especially the table side guacamole. But there is this one particular waiter who has been there for a while. I say this because have been a regular customer since the opening day. This waiter is awful and rude no matter what we do or ask. This has happened quite a few times till the last the visit when he threw the check on the table that it flew across the table. Never ever have I NOT tipped but was so disgusted by this guy that I paid the bill gave to the hostess and said "the tip reflects the service we got." He was RUDE. I definitely think twice about choosing Frontera now because don't ever want to have him again. read more

Easy access, loads of parking, quick seating and service. The food is your average chain Tex Mex, but the table side guacamole pushes this place up a star. Service was excellent; our server was efficient, helpful and funny. She wrapped our leftover guacamole to perfection. It was great the next day. An avocado miracle! read more

Having reservations for four we were seated promptly. Although we only got 3 menus and 3 plates. We asked 4 different people and finally got a 4th plate. Never got a menu. We should have known them. The guacamole was outstanding. The only decent thing we ate. I had the enchiladas suisa. The rice was mushy tasted like it was run through the dishwasher. Enchiladas ok. Refried beans great. The other three guests were un impressed with the food. I will say that this was one of the worst servers I have ever had. We tipped him but reluctantly. In the mood for Mexican tonight, we decided to try Frontera in Fairhaven and sad to say we left Very disappointed. upon walking in, we asked for a booth. We were seated at a small two person booth, which would've been fine but we like to sit side-by-side so we asked for a larger one and the host gave us an attitude, even though the restaurant was basically empty. Our server was borderline condescending and not very friendly. We each ordered the fajitas which came looking like they had been microwaved and put on a fajita dish. When asking for the sour cream that did not come on my boyfriend's dish, we were charged for three sides of sour cream on our bill, totaling six dollars -and a side of extra cheese, because apparently cheese doesn't come with the fajitas. When asked about the three sides of sour cream, our server attempted to explain that because there was no button for a side of extra cheese. He had to use the sour cream button, even though he had charged us for a side of extra cheese? That still did not explain the three sides of sour cream. You would think that sour cream would automatically come with fajitas as well as cheese, but apparently not. He argued with us about the charge for the sides and needless to say we will not return. read more

We stopped here on our way back from Onset. We were able to be seated right away. We ordered a vegetable burrito, guacamole, two margaritas and an order of philly egg rolls. The guacamole was tasteless, and had mango in it and possibly cucumber which we felt was weird. The burrito was also tasteless and the red sauce it was covered in tasted like it was out of a can with a tin flavor. Possibly the worst margaritas we have ever had. They tasted like they had soda in them. And to top it off our waitress was never around so it was very had to get hot sauce, another drink, etc. overall not a good experience. read more

This Review was based on Take-Out only during quarantine! I will absolutely be returning for takeout and dine-in once it is safe to do so again. Just based on the decor and polite staff in the foyer for take-out I have no doubt the experience inside will be delightful. We started with the Mango Guacamole and the serving was huge. One full takeout container and large bag of chips! The mango wasn't overpowering and the avacado was smooth and ripe. I ordered the Pollo Asado Burrito and it was the size of my head. Stuffed with fresh grilled chicken and veggies, rice and beans with a nice balance of flavors. The street tacos my boyfriend got are the real star of the menu. Well it is amazing that this place is in an old Uno's building. They did dramatic remodeling and it just looks and sounds like the perfect big space for a Mexican spot. It was a perfect timing, with a huge number of folks there, but we were told a 25 minute wait. The wait was actually only 20 minutes or so but we were then seated. I must make a solid comment on the look of the restaurant, it was quite solid with superb artwork and wall tiling that made the place look quite substantial for a Mexican stop, I was quite impressed. The food was just excellent. No question about it, not the absolute best in the true Mexican way, but a solid five stars nonetheless. Their salsa was quite superb with a wonderful spot of the down seasonings, it was definitely made fresh. First up was without question the best Tortilla Soup I have ever had anywhere. It was really excellent. Solid chicken and really remarkable tortilla taste with just a light layer of cheese. It was something. The dinner was just excellent too, chicken marinated in cilantro and white wine. I was blown away by it. The rice was a little light on seasonings, but it was still excellent. I was quite impressed with the whole serving. This is a great spot AND should not be missed. read more

I'm always looking for a good Mexican restaurant on the South Coast (which in my opinion has none), so I was excited to try out this new place. I've had great Mexican food in various parts of the country especially in Arizona, so I know how good it can be. Even if the food was very good (which it was not), I'm not sure I could go back due to the painfully loud noise level. This place certainly ranks among the top five noisiest restaurants I've ever been in. It was hard to carry on a conversation with my wife and even harder to communicate with the waitress, 1* The place had a waiting line at 6:30 on a Thursday, so they appear to be doing well. The chips and salsa were good, 4* We ordered house margaritas. Had I realized that the top shelf margaritas were only $1 more ($9 vs $8), I would have spent the extra money. The drink was highly lacking in taste. Little tequila taste, little lime or other taste, 2* Service was mostly good, but a bit too many times asking if things were ok, 4* They have a table side cart where they make guacamole at your table. We figured it was worth a try. The cart has lots of different ingredients and we had to answer about 10 questions as to what and how much of each thing we wanted. We tried to get what the server considered standard, but were not allowed to do that. So we made all the decisions and ended up with something that didn't taste that good. The one thing we were not asked about was the amount of lime juice which turned out to be too much. A real turn off to me was the large tip jar on the guac cart with a large sign on it begging for money. I tip at the end of the meal, this jar staring me in the face while the dish was prepared made me uncomfortable. 2* I got the pick your own three way combo and my wife got a burrito. The food was unremarkable, 3* Maybe I could give them another try by going back for lunch when the noise level would likely be lower. read more

We've been really excited to have the new Frontera location in Fairhaven! And are pleased that it is actually really good Mexican food with truly fantastic service! We have been several times & the staff is really fantastic! EXCELLENT service all around! You have your waitstaff, chip servers, several bussers, & management.. all taking care of you. They are super attentive even on a busy night like Cinco de Mayo! Everyone is really friendly & it seems like they all are having a good time! Nice to see! The food is really good!!! We love the guacamole cart.. They wheel over to your table and make some on the spot! It's a bit of entertainment and really fresh! Fun! Do try the mango.. it's just a bit sweet. Nice twist! Mmmm The top shelf margaritas are made with fresh lime juice & everything we've tried on the menu has been great so far! My favorite is the vegetarian trio.. Save room for some churros!
