I was born and lived in California for the majority of my 60+ years, and visit California often, as a result I base all Mexican food places on what I have known my entire life. Finding a great Mexican restaurant is beyond difficult for me so I often make my own at home. I still try my best to find a place. It's a Saturday afternoon and the place is empty. That does. It always indicate if the place is good or bad. A few people came in after we ordered, a good sign. The service was very quick though most important pleasant. We ordered a veggie and a carne aada burrito. Unfortunately the burritos were cold. Could be the sour cream. The burritos had flavor though I am disappointed they were not hot. I'm happy I had medium salsa there was not as much flavor as I am use to. Yes, I have had better burritos but for the area these are much better than the most. The tables could be wiped down more. It's not pleasant walking past dirty tables looking for clean one. Will I give this place another try? Maybe read more

We go to Mi Burrito at least once every two weeks. They consistently have fresh food during the busy hours; tail end of lunch often sees the lettuce somewhat bedraggled. Flavors on burito bowls and taco bowls are very good, MUCH better than Chipotle, which is why we skip C and go to Mi Barito. I would like to ask them to add a cup of salsa available for both bowls and burinto, as they only reason not to give a 5 is they are a bit dry. Thanks guys! read more

This fast casual Mexican place is AWESOME! Salsas are very authentic and fresh, as is honestly all the ingredients. Pricing is very fair as well. I can't come back again unfortunately due to a rare issue. I am a very clean eater and their vegetables and oils are more on the toxic end (heavily sprayed with pesticides and inflammatory oils.). I guess I'm just not their target market being a health freak, as the food itself is outstanding and would have gotten a 5 star anyday. read more

I get that it's the pandemic and all that so I should really want to give these places a very good review but the unfortunate truth is I don't see myself ever going back here. Stopped in on a Saturday night and got a to-go burrito in my partner got a burrito bowl. While the women working there were very friendly the food was not worth the trip. The initial scoops of beans I got were tiny so I asked for extra scoops the steak was chewy and fatty the medium salsa was pretty hot, but has good flavor. the woman who was helping me did a pretty good job actually rolling up The big burrito ended up making, but it still ended up with the old school early Chipotle problem where you have one side of it that is all one flavor and everything else is clumped up in different areas. when we got home and ate both of us were decently satisfied, it wasn't terrible, it wasn't really that good. I could maybe give them three and a half stars because they were so polite, but honestly I want to give them like two stars because the water at this place is disgusting. I got a cup of water to go with my burrito and the taste was terrible. That's a real thing, the water tasted awful. I don't know if they have any way to fix that, but I won't return to find out. read more

Good solid Los Angeles style Mexican food. We go at least every 2 weeks. I judge my Mexican restaurants on a couple things, the rice & especially the beans, the cleanliness of their bathrooms and friendliness of the staff. This place checks all the boxes and then some. Oh and their micheladas are pretty damn good. We'll definitely keep coming back. read more

My advice? Arrive hungry. A last-minute field trip to the area to visit "Jungle Jim's" and a late lunch was timed perfectly at this new location. This restaurant has a very simple, but perfect menu options. The options are split across 2 screens at the order counter: Choose a burrito, burrito bowl, tacos, nachos, quesadilla or deep-fried taco bowl (what I would most certainly choose if this was my last meal on earth is that deep-fried taco bowl but my lack of discipline is not important). Then - decide your protein and proceed with remaining toppings. My choice? Burrito bowl. Mix of cilantro-lime and the mexican rice (fluffy and well flavored - perfect combination was half and half. You're welcome). Protein: chicken Additional toppings: fajita vegetables (grilled), black beans, tomato salsa, medium salsa, sliced jalapenos, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce. One fork. One happy late luncher - extremely generous portions. I agree with the comparison to Chipotle - but the flavors are indeed better which is saying a lot since Chipotle is amazing. This is just more amazing. (Yes. I use that word a lot but 100% genuinely.) I asked how long they had been in this location and it has been about a month. Plenty of parking available. Late lunch arrival meant for plenty of seating inside - but I would guess they are growing into a larger space; more room for more seating - perhaps that is next on their expansion list. The restaurant is very clean. My only suggestion would be for them to reconsider the styrofoam cups and containers but I'm not willing to deduct a star for this choice. The next time I go, I will be skipping rice so I have room for chips and guacamole. It looked really good with small chunks of vegetables. Maybe I'll just arrive even hungrier instead. read more

In the area and in the mood for Mexican, so I decided to give it a try. First off, the map on yelp is wrong. It takes you to the old location using the iPhone GPS. Once I found the new location, it is set up similar to a Chipotle. But the ingredients are authentically made, not manufactured. I got three tacos: Pastor, Asada, Carnitas. I have eaten here several times, of course the parking lot situation seems to have changed since my last visit. One side is now a day care play area. The food here is very tasty and I have zero complaints, why 4 and not 5 stars. Well I love the food and the customer service is very good. Where they lack at least on the 4 visits I have had here is keeping up with trash. It seems every time I have here the trash cans are over flowing. Okay this is nit picky, but hey it isn't a complaint about food. More of just a let you know kind of thing. Food is better than others that server mix and match mexican style bowls and taco's. An alternative to Chipolte's. It's hard to tell which of the two came first since they seem to offer pretty much the same food at about the same prices. Their new place is a real step up from the original joint which was plain as a mud fence. The food here is probably fresher than at Chipolte's but only because it's a small, local place, not a chain. Ate here today for the first time. It is similar to Hothead Burritos and Chipotle where you go down the line and tell them what you want, and your meal is assembled in front of you. I had a burrito bowl with Spanish rice, ground beef, pinto and black beans, green sauce (medium), corn, pico, lettuce, sauce and cilantro. I really enjoyed this. The medium sauce had a pretty good amount of heat in it. Also got a side of guac and chips. Service was very friendly and efficient. Because I was a first timer, the counter man gave me samples of all the meats to try--wow--that's a nice perk and they have gotten off to a good start. i will be returning to try some other items. read more

WARNING!!!!! If you like chipotle and you try this place your outlook on chipotle is gonna change!! When you first walk in your gonna smell the flavor! I walk up to the counter and immediately think, chipotle junior. And in it is. Same model, same setup but the food is way more authentic and PACKED with flavor and heat. The guy working noticed it was my first time in and gave me samples of all the meats. ALL were delicious. I was even surprised by the ground beef. (Not normally a favorite of mine) All in all this place a much better version of chipotle. However I've seen it on best place to eat in Ohio, it should not be on that list. It's a good stop for lunch, I probably would not go here for dinner. Putting this place on best of Ohio is absurd. This place is amazing. It's a fast food style burrito place. Excellent for picking something up for dinner or something quick for lunch. I've only tasted their carnitas and al pastor. Both of which are amazingly flavorful. Everything is so distinct that even just one or two changes from two similar orders, it changes its flavor profile immensely. I think that is a sign of a great restaurant. Now for the 4 rating. They started-off amazing with their proportions. Basically a full spoonful with each ingredient. I thought it was a dream come true that a place doesn't skimp and over charge. BUT then it started to go down hill. I went multiple times a week, for weeks, just to make sure I wasn't noticing something that might have been a one-off. But no. A lot of the workers were doing the same exact thing; half scoops. So I'm guessing the owner/manager must have said something about it. I know that overhead is important to keep at bay. Very wonderful quick lunch option! It is set up in the same way that Chipotle is, so you start with your base (burrito, bowl, taco salad) and then add on all your toppings. When I arrived there wasn't a line, so we were able to get our food quite quickly. The restaurant itself is pretty bare-bones, so definitely more appropriate for a quick lunch rather than a night out. I went with the burrito bowl and chose the al pastor, arroz rojo, various salsas, sour cream, and guacamole. I love that they have different rice options. They al pastor was wonderful! I think that they could work on adding a bit more acidity to a few of their components, because without a bit of acid the flavors do start to blend together a bit too much. The serving is plentiful and very comparable to Chipotle (I was able to save some for leftovers). I think this is a great alternative to Chipotle and an opportunity to support local business. They also have tamales which were tasty! To note, they primarily have smaller two-person tables that can uncomfortably fit three people. Great customer service and food. They offer you to try any of their amazing meats "so you know what you will enjoy". The burritos are huge and everything I had was perfectly balanced. The rice was flavorful and cooked perfectly, the meats were tender and juicy, the salsas were what you hope for from a Mexican spot- the hot was hot, but really had flavor, and the fajitas were fresh and still had a nice crunch. Guacamole was basic but good. I like a little more chunky, but the flavor was on point and they didn't put tomatoes to make it cheaper. Overall highly recommend. Keep up the great job!! read more

Yelp has five stars meaning "Whoohoo! As good as it gets!" and that's pretty much true of this place. A friend and I were trying to negotiate where to eat. He eats anything. I'm more difficult but he's more picky about restaurants. But burritos! That's the key to everyone's heart. So we set out to Mi Burrito. We had a bit of a problem getting into the actual parking lot. Which was probably silly, but something to be aware of if you're an anxious driver like I am. But once you're actually IN the restaurant, it's so welcoming! The lady at the counter immediately asked if we had been there before. Since we had not, she gave us tiny cups of pretty much everything to try. I know I'm being a bad Yelper and should have taken pictures, but it was so exciting to have samples just thrown as us. I don't eat meat but my friend does and I don't even know how many kinds of meat he tried. But it was a lot. It was like having appetizers. There were sauces and guacamole and rice. We were blown away. My friend seemed better prepared for ordering than I was. Frankly, I'm a little inexperienced with throwing together a burrito that isn't just from Hot Head. Even with tasting everything. I ordered a fantastic burrito. But I played it safe because I wasn't sure how much of spicy was going to be too much. I had a very vegan corn, guac, black beans, spiced rice, mild salsa and corn burrito. My friend, on the other hand, threw everything but the kitchen sink in his. I honestly have no idea what darkness resided inside it. The whole thing was ridiculously reasonably priced. My friend went back for a huge bag of chips and more guacamole and some spicy stuff. Let me tell you about this guacamole. It just tastes clean. Just creamy heaven. My friend agreed it was good but claimed what he can make is just as good if not better. He's like that, though. I ate half my burrito. It was a carbohydrate dream. The people working there were really nice and, I think, if you're a regular, the sort to form a relationship with you. I don't normally do 3 stars, it's either a 1 or 5 for me. But this place got me with mix feelings. The burrito was amazing!! Except for they mix hot and cold ingredients into the burrito. I like the cheese in my burrito to be melted. But they have hot and cold ingredients in the burrito so the cheese sits next to the cold ingredients and when you bite into the burrito... the shredded cheese just falls out. The burrito bowl was meh. Definitely was not as good as the burrito. It just tasted like a salad with rice and meat. Deep frying the wrap and turning it into a bowl, not a big fan off. I'm so glad they moved. Now they can get the recognition they deserve. I used to drive 40 minutes from Dayton weekly to get this food and it was so worth it. I've been a patron for 2 years and anytime a friend mentions chipotle, I tell them to give this place a try. I guarantee they won't regret it. My only hang up though is the chips always seem stale. Authentic Mexican- This place is what i have been looking for ever since i moved to Ohio from Colorado. I missed the authentic mexican food from CO until i found this hidden gem. The carne asada and barbacoa are my favorite. I received samples of all the meats on my first visit, which all were amazing. this place is nothing in comparison to Chipolte. when you walk in you smell all the freshness and taste how authentic is truly is. The burrito bowl I had was extremely flavorful and I was not able to finish it there. I loved the 'barbacoa' meat medium salsa topping. The black beans and rice was great in the bowl as well. I seriously liked this place. My wife was not as pleased but you have to appreciate these types of places to enjoy. If you are. Chipotle fan ( I am not). You will probably love this.
