We avoided this place for a long time because the few times we went there the food was not good for one reason or another. A few months ago we decided to try again. Wow! It's changed management and now it is our favorite go-to for Mexican cuisine. I LOVE the vegetarian Lite meal. My wife loves their burritos. The only problem was they got my order wrong and gave me the veggie plate--with chicken. They corrected it and apologized so that's OK. The chips are fresh and the salsa is too. love it! read more

My daughter and I went here for dinner last night. The service was amazing. The establishment was very clean. I even went in to wash my hands and I'm sure your ladies don't know but the men's room can be a bit of a challenge. It was extremely clean and that means a lot to me in someplace I'm going to eat. Sorry side note. The service came. It was lightning fast, very polite and professional. The food was great. My daughter ordered something and I can't remember the name of it. The Lite Grill with chicken is outstanding. The perfect plate on a Mexican restaurant for a filling yet healthier option.

I don't write restaurant reviews often, but my experience tonight was bad enough to warrant an exception. We dined at Mi Casa (Peters Creek Pkwy) around 6:30 PM on a Monday. Despite the restaurant being 90% empty, the dining area was dirty, and the wait staff had a horrendous attitude. To make matters worse, the food quality was terrible--our soft shell tacos and two sodas came out to $35.61, which is absurd for this level of quality and service. Coming from regulars at Pancho Villa, where the food and service are always excellent, this was a massive disappointment. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Went back recently and it was a much better experience. While the food in the past was a bit disappointing everything at this last visit was very good. We got the supreme dip and the chimichangas. It was Mother's Day and they gave me a free dessert which was so sweet. read more

Mi Casa was a great try! I ordered the Birria Tacos and I liked them. I think they could use more seasoning but after adding some pepper, salt, and salsa, it was good to go! I had a strawberry house margarita frozen, and I liked that and didn't need any more if you know what I mean. Overall great service and good ambiance! read more

I stopped in here for an early lunch. This is a sister restaurant to one in Lexington. This spot is bigger than you would think, and rather plainly decorated. I ordered the Enchiladas Super Rancheras - a handful of small enchiladas filled with ground beef, shredded beef, chicken, cheese and beans. These are plated on a rich ranchero sauce and topped with lettuce, diced tomato, and sour cream. The complimentary chips and salsa were both bland. I haven't been to Mi Casa before... but I was looking for a take-out dinner in the area. They use an online ordering system, which can be scheduled for later... quite a nice feature. I ordered mid-day for a dinner pickup. When I arrived at 6pm, the restaurant was bustling and people were waiting to be seated. That's a good sign. My pickup order was ready and waiting, so I took it out. I ordered tacos al pastor, which are so common, but also are great when done right. It's a good test of how americanized the food will be. My tacos came with a side of rice and beans. The tacos also came with cilantro and diced onion. They are great tacos honestly. I am always looking for the real thing, the better flavor, and these tacos brought it! The beans and rice also had lots of flavor, which is not normal. Often the sides are just bland filler food, but I was happily surprised. I didn't taste the other food, but we also had a chicken taco salad, which came in a taco bowl/shell and an order of chicken nachos. There was a side of cheese dip along with chips and salsa. Overall, I'd definitely come back. If the whole menu is as good as my food was, I can see why Mi Casa is so busy. Good for them. read more

Food is not even that good for the type of service you get. SMH there is a waitress who made my VERY LAST experience there bad. She was rude and distasteful, rolling her eyes when talked to and speaking bad about me in Spanish. I know she was because little did she know i am Bilingual. Also a manager came in late and that's who she was talking to, however instead of asking me or apologizing on her behalf he just looked at me and walked away laughing with her. Another strip mall Mexican restaurant? Yes but it's a good one! Huge inside, Mi Casa, is a pleasant surprise. Staffed well, rare these days, mostly family I think. We had several servers catering to us. All super helpful. Yes it does have the standard Mexican restaurant menu, and it's huge! The margaritas first! I got the classic, iced, perfectly limey and salty. Then the rest of the table had a coconut margarita, strawberry and mango margaritas. All also available frozen, and much larger ones if you prefer! My vegetarians shared the burrito vegetarian, massive roll of broccoli, onions, mushrooms and green peppers, with refried beans inside. Comes with guacamole, salsa verde, and sour cream. Very shareable! Tasty, and well seasoned. Only thing was the veggies were all chunky, would suggest they chop them up a bit more! I got the enchiladas verde, shredded chicken, salsa verde, rice and beans. Loved this, I was throughly stuffed quarter of the way through. Lots of chicken, loved the salsa verde. Rice was really nicely seasoned too. And not oily like a lot of places. Great entree. Another entree we had was the enchiladas rancheros trio, one cheese , one chicken, one steak, guacamole rice and beans. Nice trio. Very good, great to have the variety. This place was hopping when we arrived and continued to be busy throughout our visit. The chips and complimentary salsa were both good, and they bring two types (red and green) of salsa picante if you request it. Due to COVIS, they do charge $.50 for them, however. We had the chori queso, which was great as well. My dining companion had the alambres and I had the spicy burrito with shredded chicken and ground beef. It was great. I was a little disappointed that the meats were segregated on their own sides of the burrito, but once I figured that out I could mix and match as I pleased. Portions were huge. Did I mention my 42 ounce margarita? Yeah. They have those too. Just moved into the area and was very excited to try out the closest Mexican to me! I wish I could rate this 3.75 because that's what it really is! The comp chips and salsa were decent... not my favorite but definitely good and I finished all my salsa. The pitcher of rocks margarita was decently priced at $16 (or $18 ... forgot ... hubs and I drank the whole thing lol) It was good.. again not the best not the worst. Their menu was a typical Mexican faire. My husband loves chimichangas and they had 4 different type. He got the Pollo fundido which is deep fried and he ate all of it! I never get the same thing at a mexican place but I ma have found my favortie in the Pollo Feliz. The chicken was huge with queso on top and it came with delicious veggies and rice/beans. Being in the area, we thought we'd give Mi Casa a try. It's pretty good at home so I figured it couldn't be any different than any other location. It was pretty steady for a Friday night. Multiple groups of people coming in, so it couldn't be that bad. Service was difficult to understand. Couldn't hear anything I was saying, and had to have me repeat the order a couple times until I just pointed to the menu to show him what I wanted. I ordered shrimp and tilapia. Wasn't too bad, but my fish was burnt underneath. I also ordered a Coronarita.. no salt or sugar on the rim, was not blended, and the Corona was already half way empty in my drink. The taste was awful.. my friend got a strawberry margarita and again, it wasn't blended, no salt or sugar on the rim, and even though it wasn't blended, it wasn't even mixed. We have been going here for many years. Food is good, service is good, and the prices are ok. Big plus: THEY DO NOT CHARGE A FEE TO USE YOUR CARD FOR PAYMENT! So many places are doing that AFTER increasing prices as well. The only problem I had here, was a takeout order. I was charged 75 cents extra. That was a surprise. Ok, but whole pinto beans are what refried are made from. So where are they or are the refried preprocessed out of a can? The enchiladas came with a red sauce which tasted more like Italian Marinara. This experience was very unfortunate. Me and my family went in to eat at 4:30, we were 1 of maybe 5 customers in the whole restaurant. The food was fine, but the service was unacceptable. We have never not tipped our waitress, no matter how bad it was until this time. There is no reason that this lady wanted a tip, we not only had to ask for every single thing we wanted, chips, refills, check, etc but she would not even stop to hear what we needed. She was rude to us, I am sorry that she must not have liked or wanted to be at her job, but if I was the owner of this restaurant I would choose another job for this lady.
