Everytime I come to Cabo and specifically San Jose Del Cabo, I come home to MI Casa. The atmosphere is wonderful. Always make a reservation even if it's 5.30 pm. The mole is amazing. They offer it with either pork or chicken. My wife always goes with the chicken. Is it the best mole in San Jose Del Cabo? Pretty darn close. I went with the shrimp dish, with a tequila sauce. My God it was fantastic. The sauce was rojo (red) and very flavorful. The presentation was Wow. DAMN IT was good. As someone who used to live in the Cabo area, I strongly recommend this place in San Jose. If you are staying in Cabo san Lucas the ride is about 25 minutes. Trust Me you won't regret it. read more

Great restaurant, especially for large groups! The interior is quite big and they have a gift shop/shopping area with lots of great stuff. We were able to get a reservation for 11 on only a couple hours notice. The food was excellent and had great presentation. This place is huge and they really need more workers. I think our server literally had ALL the tables. He was working hard but it was so difficult for us to get his attention when we needed anything. We wouldnt see him 15 minutes at a time. I think they even had the bathroom attendant help out with clearing plates. Anyways, our resort made reservations here for us. There was an art fest going on in the town so it's probably why it was so busy. Someone greeted us by the entrance saying she was waiting for us, which made us feel like VIPs. Bland...bland...bland. The queso (not pictured) was a hunk of microwaved Monterey Jack cheese. Ceviche was all cucumber and jicama with barely any fish in it. And sadly the carne asada plate was just terrible: I ordered green sauce on my enchilada but they gave me red which tasted like straight up tomato sauce and the steak was overcooked, dry, and flavorless. My wife and I asked the man driving us from the airport to our hotel to recommend an authentic local restaurant while we were visiting Los Cabos. He immediately suggested Mi Casa in the old town. Let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed. Tucked into an unassuming storefront on a cobblestone street, Mi Casa is authentic from the word Go. We were greeted by the owner / manager and brought into a beautiful open-air courtyard, lush with palms and other greenery. Since it was a bit warm still, our sever positioned a fan to augment the nice breeze. For appetizers, my wife chose the shrimp cocktail and I had the ceviche. Because of a mistake on my part, we also were served a quesadilla / tostada platter. We cleaned our plates, it was all so good. My wife loves mole, and she had a number of choices on the menu, all following different mole recipes. Her Mole Chicken was amazing. I had seen a short rib adobo item when looking at the online menu, and didn't even need to scan the rest of the menu at the restaurant. All I can say is that it was even better than it sounded on paper - simply amazing. Finally, after learning we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, the staff surprised us with the most delicious Leches cake I've ever tasted. As delicious as the food was, the service was even better. Our server, Maracin (I am sure I misspelled her name) was attentive, helpful, humble, and above all a very nice person. The rest of the staff was equally fantastic. Note - There is also a sister restaurant in Cabo San Lucas. We chose the old town because we wanted to visit the shops and art galleries as well. You could easily spend 2-3 hours walking these quaint streets before or after dinner. It's a very walkable town. My only regret is that we only have a few more nights in town, and our dinner plans are booked. Otherwise, I would be back there tomorrow! read more

We have eaten dinner out every night for the past 13 nights. This was my husband's favorite meal. Let me start with the atmosphere: This historical home is still owned by the same family after 200 years. They turned their back yard into outdoor patio seating and it's historical ambiance charmed our pants off! I had a fresh mojito, yum. Hubs had a fresh salad, and I had the tortilla soup. I couldn't believe how good it was. I wish I had the recipe. Hubs ordered the plate with the filet mignon and started telling random strangers to go eat there after we had left, and were walking through the plaza. My meal was good but I was full after the tortilla soup, so I asked the wonderful server, (Francisco) to pack it in a box so I could enjoy it later. This isn't the least expensive place but still it's reasonably priced. read more

The best restaurant we visited during our 5 day Cabo vacation. The back patio dining area had a wonderful family atmosphere. The service was attentive and genuine rather than the standard "I recommend the most expensive item on the menu" that you often see in this touristy area. The carne asada was amazing as were the shrimp tacos that my wife ordered. My young daughter enjoyed seeing the cats that roam around the patio. Who would of thought that this nice man would go out of his to help us and call a taxi for strangers and give us sample margaritas. Only thing i wasn't quite happy with was that two young girls came up to our table and offered us a shot of don julio that was steamed we said yea of course! The sauce was actually okay, though a bit more bland and uninspiring than the 37 flavors I was promised. But it was poured over a huge clump of chewy, overcooked chicken, and served only with a rice pilaf. I think the whole meal would have been better if there were fresh grilled vegetables and maybe thinner sliced chicken. Anyway, unimpressive. My SO had something resembling Chile Rellenos, and it was a similar shaped blob. Be sure to confirm which location! Called the number on their website for Reservations - could take us at the exact time we wanted. After hanging up, I realized I may have made reservations at their San Lucas location vs San Jose so I called the same number and spoke to the same woman. I explained I wanted San Jose, and she said it was no problem and that she would make the new reservation at their other place for me. Great! Took an Uber to the San Jose location and they were closed on Mondays despite 1) the website didn't say anything about them being closed and 2) an employee made the reservation for me (granted she was at the location I didn't want but still, you would think she would know). This was a cool find, I really enjoyed having lunch here. They have a shop that's really interesting to look around once you're done with lunch. The appetizer we had was good, homemade tortillas and guacamole with Pico de gallo. The lunch entree I ordered was good, the menu is small and for me a little hard to navigate but it was good. The staff was kind, not very attentive but nothing to complain about. The eating space was neat, beautiful artwork on the walls and lush trees, felt tropical and open. This was our favorite restaurant experience in Los Cabos. The ambience is out of this world. We stumbled upon Mi Casa during the Thursday night art walk in downtown San Jose (which is awesome anyways). From the street, the restaurant is unassuming and you would have no idea how awesome it is inside. Once inside, the trees, open sky, and lights are perfect. They really set the tone. While we were there, 4 kittens happened to be roaming around, which we absolutely loved. The food was excellent as well. We got a chile relleno de queso and enchiladas de vegetales y semillas which were super yummy. Shared a nice piece of tres leches cake for dessert to top it all off. The margarita was strong. Overall, we would say this place is a must for visitors to San Jose. Especially try to go on a Thursday night and check out the art galleries in the area. read more

Went here tonight on our cab driver's recommendation and we were not disappointed. From the cute host who was very personable and helping us with our order and also engaging us about our home town to the awesome food that we had. We ordered a little of everything starting with the sampler tamales which had such flavor and pleased all of us to the salads and then on to the main course. I had the sea bass (fish special) which was so moist and had great flavor to my husband's enchiladas and our friends tortilla soup and the pork with mole. Seriously everything was spot on delicious. This was the best and most authentic Mexican food we have had. Everything from the appetizer, soup and both main courses was delicious and full of many new flavors. We were also surprised by the beautiful setting. In Los Cabo's it looks like a small store front but a beautiful outdoor courtyard is inside.
