Mi o mi, I want mo. Just south of FM 1960 is a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant in a strip mall (next to Mo's) that serves delicious home-cooking specials, evidently by a real chef. I ate lunch here, and several regulars attested to how good the food is here. One of the attractions is that the daily special changes all the time. The rest of the menu has many interesting items I would like to try. But today was Special. Tilapia grilled and covered with a creamy herb sauce and on top of mild brown rice was the special of the day. For $7 you get that plus vegetables (broccoli and carrots) and a hot roll. The fish was fresh and cooked right, the portion size was medium-large, the sauce was tremendous and that made the dish special. The lunch was so good, I decided for a muffin for dessert. Apple bits in it, fresh, moist inside, and it was very good. Scenic tour: You have to go through a narrow (due to catering gear and a car tire) hallway and through the back of the kitchen to get to the one bathroom (which was well-kept). I got to see them washing fresh vegetables in the kitchen. I suspect breakfast is good here, too.

Jeez! Time goes by fast! I was at this wonderful place a while ago! Small place that you would miss if you don't know the area. Mi friend Norma N. Who teaches at the North Harris College, which is practically next door, suggested the spot. I came driving from 1960, took Aldine Westfield and almost missed the place. By the way is in the same shopping strip where the Citgo gas station is. Mi Chef is runned by Cheff Mark, a cool guy that would remind you of your good buddy in grade school (he reminded me of Jaen B.) You can see the kitchen from the counter, and that is as good "first look at a clean place" as you get. The food is crafted almost before your eyes without the "run-through-the-factory" feeling. Just behind the counter, you will see how you sandwich is put together with fresh ingredients carefully layered. Sauces came from the morning churn, not from a can. Ask for the soup of the day, and be sure to greet Mark!

Amazing food, service & people here. Never disappoints.

However, today was extra special. Today, Joseph was our server. He was probably the best server I have ever had (and we go out to eat quite often). He was SUPER attentive in a great way. I told my family he makes me feel as if we were his only table. He offered great suggestions for enhancing our meal with grilled onions/mushrooms. He shared that both are cooked in their house made garlic butter. I am a Landry's Select member and that has never been served with us before. He also offered great information and suggestions for dessert. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Keep the great work up Joseph!

He gave me the bill and told me "this was the remaining balance" so I believed him and paid the rest. Check my account today, and I had enough to take care of the whole bill the whole time. So he basically lied to us about what the balance was on my select card because I'm sure he wanted to get tipped on $105. Normally I tip on the whole original amount before the select card deduction on a penny charge afterwards. But the fact that this guy straight up lied to us is just scam behavior.

We've been passing by this place for awhile and today the wife and I decided to meet up after work…read moreand try them out. Upon entering, the place is nice and more spacious than we expected. Very clean and well put together. We we were greeted promptly and told to choose our seat and that she would be right with us. Well.. that wasn't the case. The lady that greated us was the greeter the bartender the hostess and order taker and one young man as a server was all they had. Fast forward past the wait. Our food comes. Presentation was nice loved the wooden serving trays. Burgers were nice size as seen on social media. I had the Texan burger with chili and cheese and my wife had Kions classic with cheese. Burgers were great. Meat was grilled to perfection with the chard edges i like. But were a little salty as were the onion rings. It taste like the same seasoning is used for the burger fries and onion rings so it became a little overwhelming. Which was part of the reason fir the 3 star. The other reason was the wait (to order and check out) due to the lack of staff and the other is the price. $66 for 2 burgers, fries and onion rings which the portions aren't worth the $10 price. Will we return? Possibly but not any time soon. @Manager. First, condolences to you and your family . But I notice you are very defensive in your few responses to reviews. And im sure you're going to take offense to this comment also but it is not to offend you or your business but more-so to help. I noticed you haven't even taken the time to respond to those that have given you good to great reviews. Those people deserve your attention more. And even in the responses you have given, there are more professional ways of defending your establishment. Like thanking the person for patronizing your business whether they gave you a good or bad review (they spent their hard earned money). Then thanking them for taking the time to leave you a review (good or bad) and read reviews with the intent to understand not to respond. We don't know what's going on in your personal life when we enter your establishment just as you don't know what's going on in ours.. you expect us to repect your business upon entering as we expect a level of service and professionalism that makes us feel good about spending our money. If your loss was going to impact your service maybe inform people when they enter that service is going to be a little slow due to short staff. I see your favorite thing to say is "our prices are listed". Don't you think we know that? Don't you think we seen the price on the menu when we ordered? So obviously we're not complaining about the price but more so what we got for the price. Though we can see how much we're going to spend before ordering, we can not see what we're getting for what we're spending until it comes out. And that is what I was referring to.. price vs portion. And my review said some good things also and said we would possibly return.. but that now will not happen. Please just think before you respond to people and remember they have already given you their hard earned money before making reviews of your business good or bad.. so always lead with a "Thank You..."

3/4/26 03:02 HRS Store #9692 7715 FM 1960 Bypass Rd; Humble, Tx…read more I am a regular customer at this site because it is so close to my home and at the end of the night I do not want to cook. The food is well-prepard and hot when I receive it. I came in late tonight and decided to do some work on my laptop while I ate. I was surprised to hear the waitress have to check with the cook to make sure the kitchen had enough hamburger meat to make one of the signature meals on your menu. With every customer thereafter she had to check with the cook before she could enter an order. She would suggest another order for which kitchen did have food. Most of the time the customer would order a meal that was less expensive than the original meal. I waitressed while I put myself through school. The first thing I learned is that a resturant cannot make money if you do NOT have food to cook for the signature orders on the menu. It negatively affects the tips the waitresses make, so you run the risk of losing good employees, It is the dependable employees that bring in the regular customers. I come in because Alicia is a very good waitress. She does an excellent job of taking care of all the customers. She gives the same quality of service to every customer, whether there is one table or several tables. She remembers what the regular customer likes and sees to it that the customer has a positive experience. It seems to me that if you want this little spot to grow, you have to make the best of the location. I think there is a management issue here that needs to be addressed before the place closes. It is near the airport. It should be busy every night. Please put an advertisement on the sign by !960 so you get more local customers coming in as well as those coming from the airport looking for a place to eat. Hand outs at the Scottish Inn right across Lee Blvd would bring in foot traffic as those that stay there during the week and on the weeend will walk over to get a meal. These are observations noted on just one night. Getting this input from customers on all shifts woud make a big difference. Thank you, Ellen Pavela empavela@ aol.com

My wife and I visited Denny's around 1:00 AM, and unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst…read moredining experiences we've had. To start, the young man who took our order was polite and professional. However, while he initially took our drink order, the drinks were never brought to our table. By the time our food arrived, we still had no beverages. Veronica later noticed this and stepped in, taking over as our waitress--but by then, the experience had already started off poorly. Things quickly got worse. My wife ordered a breakfast burrito, and just before taking a bite, she noticed a hair in her food. Trying to avoid making a scene, she calmly approached the counter and informed Veronica. Instead of responding with genuine concern, Veronica said, "So sorry, that's not my hair," and casually relayed the issue to the cook. The cook, a Caucasian male with sandy hair and a beard, acknowledged the situation, and we were told the burrito would be remade at no charge. When the replacement meal was brought out, Veronica made a completely inappropriate comment: "Here's your food--minus the hair," as if the situation was something to joke about. This was highly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering the nature of the issue. To make matters worse, once my wife received the remade burrito, the sausage inside was not fully cooked and tasted funny. At that point, she chose not to eat at all, which was extremely disappointing and unacceptable from a food safety standpoint. Additionally, while we were seated at our table, water began leaking from the ceiling. Moments later, part of the ceiling gave way and collapsed onto the floor just a few feet away from us. This created a serious safety concern and added to an already unacceptable experience. When it was time to settle the bill, a man we assumed to be a supervisor or manager asked if everything was okay. We told him it was not. At that point, Veronica overheard and laughed while agreeing, and shockingly, the manager also began laughing. What should have been taken seriously was instead treated like a joke. Rather than escalate the situation, I calmly stated that I would not be paying for anything due to the experience. The manager simply said "okay" and walked away. Situations involving food safety, customer service, and overall customer safety should never be handled this way. The lack of accountability, concern, and professionalism was unacceptable. We will not be returning to this location and will be sharing this experience with others. This is not how a business should be run.
